Unbelievable views, spacious room, very clean, staff is really good and professional

The break fast is limited by the fact that its cooked breakfast not an open buffet ( cheese only comes as shredded cheddar and when you ask for it) same goes for the dinner.

Beautiful, quirky hotel. Room furniture was a little worn but really good size room so I guess the worn furniture added to the charm! Not to far from Windermere lake side either, about a 10 minute walk.

Nothing really, we didn't have room service which was fine and not sure if they do top up teas and coffee, empty bins etc so we asked every morning. Wasn't a huge problem to be fair. The location is excellent however it's quite a steep walk back up from the lake side so worth bearing in mind.

Stylish decor in public areas, excellent value if you take advantage of dinner, bed and breakfast. Special mention to chef, each course of our dinner was excellent.

Only negative was the noise from a refrigeration (?) unit, unfortunately our bedroom window was very close to this and it went on and off through the night.

Room was dated and impractical - large furniture that was inaccessible because of the bed. Beds weren’t particularly comfortable and there were some stains on lampshade and wall.

The hotel itself was stunning and picturesque, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, room was cleaner than clean and we loved the robes and the subtle Beatrix potter theme throughout the property.

Not easily accessible by foot unfortunately, especially with a pram, although staff were most helpful to accommodate this.

Great location near Lake Windermere. The building and the grounds are lovely. The connection to Beatrix Potter is present but not overdone. Gorgeous outlook across the gardens from the dining room. Easy parking. Staff friendly and welcoming. Comfortable room. Very happy.

The location was perfect - away from the madding crowds of Bowness but near enough to walk in for the many restaurants for dinner. Lindeth Howe is soooo peaceful - beautiful gardens, lovely room, super comfy bed and a quiet night with bats flitting about outside. The staff were exceptional, from our first welcome at the desk to all the breakfast staff to checkout. The breakfast was good too. Absolutely loved our stay, and will definitely come again.

Stayed here over 25 years ago, so it was quite a sutprise to see how it had changed. The decor would not be to everyone's taste, but it was OK. The food was very good, but the draft beer was limited with only 1 bitter on, and no Guinness. The wine I ordered each evening was brought to the table already opened, which I don't like. It should be brought before opening, otherwise how can you be sure it is what was ordered. All in all though, a good stay.

Had issues with room. Reception fid their best to sort but cudnt. So gave us a free upgrade for our inconvenience. Very good customer service.

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location close but not too close to Bowness.

I stay at hotels regularly for work and leisure . We booked a double room. I was surprised by the cold and unwelcoming approach from the Receptionist on arrival. Asking for my passport (I'm a UK citizen) and then questioning if my credit card was "linked" to my address. An alternative approach to enhancing my customer experience perhaps? We where then asked to name our breakfast time in twenty minute slots. We were advised these were rigid and they would not accommodate change. Not really the relaxing country house vibe we were expecting. At breakfast the following morning 8am there were no staff present (all chatting in the kitchen) We poured ourselves fruit juice and sat at a table for two. When the waitress arrived at 8.10.she told us we were in a booking for three and had to sit at another table. I explained we there were only two of us, but she still made us move to the next table, before serving us. The order we made was also incorrect on arrival. A hotel that seems to have lost it's focus on the customer. Focusing more on their operations systems. Not a pleasant experience, which is a shame as a very well appointed hotel.

The location of the hotel is just outside the main town with a lovely walk into Bowness-on-Windermere. The history of the building is very interesting too with connections to Beatrix Potter. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. You’ll also have one of the best breakfasts you can find in the area too.

Incredible house, lovely garden, nice rooms, really lovely! Easy to walk into town through the back of the house. Will be back again.

Not having any lights at the back garden path as coming back late was completely dark (but we used our phone torches and it didn’t spoil anything)

I have chosen and paid a lot for 2 nights and there were No good internet, bathroom was so bad . So far food wasn’t good too. I’m afraid if I would pay this money I could book an amazing room with great service in Westminster so far .!!!

J’ai beaucoup aimé la décoration soignée et originale, surtout du coin bar et des salons. Le joli jardin était très agréable aussi.

I read that I was going to get a garden view I ended up with a roof top view. Our sleep was disturbed by banging doors near our room . Room decor needs refurbished and carpet had lots of stains.

Lovely location. Very clean. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. On arrival I think it was Liz who booked us in was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service was excellent. When I wanted a nightcap the two gentleman serving went out there way to make my drink. The breakfast was also very good. I would definitely recommend the hotel and return.

It’s a retreat away from the noise and the bustle of busy lives, immersed in nature and only a short drive from the core of Windermere, which is full of restaurants and amenities (and has stunning boat cruises). The room was beautiful with a huge window onto the garden and a view of the lake. The hotel has lots of gorgeous spaces, everything decorated with such attention to detail and tailor made with beautiful whimsical artistry. Staff is courteous and professional - the vibe is classy, sophisticated and yet relaxed and welcoming.

The setting and gardens were beautiful. The rooms were superb, beautifully decorated and inviting. The bed was huge and very comfortable, good quality bedding. The food was delicious and breakfast was lovely. The staff were very polite and attentive.

Unfortunately we had a room next to the ladies toilets and by the stairs. The door on the toilets kept banging each time they were used so this was annoying. Plus as we were near the stairs leading to the upper floors we could hear a lot of noise and people were going up to their rooms, unfortunately they were very loud which kept waking me up.

The hotel decor is lovely, bright and clean. The hotel is very spacious everywhere you go. Our room was a loft/attic room, which was nice and had everything you needed. However, the floor boards were very noisy and the bed was not very comfortable. It was very clean, would have liked for there to be soap in the bathroom though, to wash your hands. Had breakfast in the hotel. The restaurant again was spacious and inviting. The full english breakfast was nice. Im glad the breakfast was included in the price of the booking as I would not have paid £19.99 extra for the breakfast.

素晴らしいロケーションです。 エレベーターはありませんが、スタッフの方が荷物を持って上がってくれるので困ることはありませんでした。 部屋にはテレビ(動画配信サイトには未対応)、ドライヤー、ケトル、アイロン、アイロン台があります。 バスルームも綺麗で、大きな浴槽もあります、シャワーは水圧・温度ともに調整可能で快適です。 ベッドも大きく部屋全体が清潔です 棚も多く荷物が多くても困りませんでした。 部屋は夏でも涼しく夜は布団が暖かいので何一つ不満がありませんでした。庭の散策も気分が良いです。 食事は何を食べても美味しかったです。重すぎずヘルシーさを感じます。

スマホの電波が入りづらいです。ホテルというより街全体が郊外なので仕方ない部分です。ホテルのWifiも不安定ですが、レストランや庭などでは問題なく使えたので部屋以外でゆっくりするのも良いと思います。

インテリアや世界観が素敵で、ガーデンも綺麗にされており、特別な経験になった。朝食はメニューから選び、持ってきてもらうことができ、とても充実していた。

施設は古く、階段のみ。車以外での訪問は大変かも。

The staff were lovely and very friendly. The bar has board games to use. The mattresses were very comfortable. It had a homely feel to it.

It’s just so old fashioned, there’s no need to have full sets of drawers in rooms anymore - who would use them? No sockets next to the bed. No AC, it’s so hot in the eves of the house. Have to ask for fans. Lighting is poor in the rooms. We were told it’s a 10mins walk to the main harbour. It’s more like 30mins. Breakfast so so. Very limited items to choose from - have to ask for toast/drinks. It could be a lot more streamlined for sure.

Lack of staff. They advertise bar food and couldn’t provide it. No restaurants nearby. We were stranded in hotel without food. Couldn’t even make a sandwich!! Housekeeping didn’t freshen room up. Bath plug not working and when we asked for help they just released it and didn’t fix the problem. Aaron the manager wasn’t sympathetic and only said sorry but wasn’t interested in giving a refund and actually added gratuity to bill. So our experience wasn’t good. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my friends.

The staff were very friendly (esp lady on reception). The house itself is beautiful, as are the gardens. The location is perfect- everything is accessible by foot.

I stayed in one of the attic rooms. It wasn’t terrible, but I would request a different room next time. It was the middle of a heat wave, so being at the top of the house was uncomfortable. The ceilings made it difficult to sit up in bed. For the price it was reasonable though.

The hotel was in a very lovely setting. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The choice of breakfast was very good and tasted even better.

The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help. It was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Staff were very good always friendly and available. Food lovely, hotel clean in all areas. Gardens beautifully maintained with great outside space to sit. Hotel location good and able to walk down to Bowness in addition to access to the Lakes close at hand.

We did find standard room level 2 very hot during the recent hot weather with only one openable window.Fan provided on request. Would recommend addition of small make up mirror in bathroom and full length mirror in main bedroom. Car parking available but busy during our stay with one resident having left a little white bumper kiss mark on my new to me car.

Beautiful location on edge of town. Nestled in woodland gives it a definite country house hotel vibe. Friendly helpful staff, big double room with views across the hills.
