Everything! I was looking for a stop over for a drive from the north of Scotland to the South East. Didn’t need anything fancy and the area of this hotel was about half way. The reviews were good and it is a real gem! The staff are lovely, has a great country house charm, good food and a beautiful location. The gardens are stunning! The weather was pretty miserable during our stay, but can imagine sitting outside in the stunning gardens on a nice day. I can’t recommend enough and will definitely come back.

Huge room and very clean but needed updating carpet and bathroom.

Simply divine. The staff greeted us like we were long lost friends and nothing was too much trouble for them. The most relaxing break I've ever had, and over too soon.

The only thing I see that could potentially be an issue is that the parking is somewhat limited and if you have a lot of luggage, that could be problematic. Having said that, the staff repeatedly offered to help us with our bags.

Beautiful and welcoming. This is a glorious country house with sumptuous interiors. The communal areas were both stunning and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and professional and the service was excellent. Cath made us feel as though we were guests in her home. We left already planning our next visit. The location is stunning with well kept luscious grounds and a glorious view of Windermere. It was peaceful, tranquil and a world away from the hustle and bustle of Bowness.

The food was okay. Would’ve preferred other yoghurt, it was quite sour and didn’t pair as well as it could’ve with the compote, as well as less mashed/thin avocado.

Did not have the restaurant open on two of the three nights of our stay.

The location was peaceful and the view across the gardens and the lake were also lovely to have and see. The decor outside of the room was much better and more up to date than in the bedroom.

I didn't like the fact I spent £305 for a suite room where the lights didn't work as they should, only some were working. The restaurant was closed and I was not informed to I was forced to drive out and get dinner which I wanted to eat in the place I was staying. No bottled water baffeled me, almost every room I have ever stayed in offers bottled water not water in a jug from the tap, this was not okay. The room was old and tired, for a supposed 5*, the rooms need to be enhanced significantly. Overall, I am really disappointed with the value for money and I could have stayed at better places with more to offer at half the cost.

Nice and private location Excellent for what we were after. Plenty of space, privacy from public was perfect. Exactly what we were after. Asked my partner to marry me here. Was nice and quiet perfect place for getting engaged. Grounds were nice Room was Excellent. Highly rate this hotel for proposals and secluded spots for couples! 20/10.

The hotel was located in a quiet setting and had a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was hot and fresh and served at the table. There were gowns and slippers in the bedroom along with daily homemade cookies

The bedroom fell far below our expectations. The wallpaper was stained, the carpet was wrinkled and came away from the thresh on the first morning, this was quickly put right by staff. The seal on the shower door sprang open at the bottom which meant stepping out of the shower onto a wet floor/bathmat. On the second day the hospitality tray was replenished and the towels folded, however the bed had not been made and the carpet hadn't been vacuumed.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of history. Very peaceful and surrounded by nature not far from the town.

Our room was quite small and it got extremely hot at night. We had a fan but we struggle to sleep all nights due to how hot the room gets so won’t recommend going during summer or would recommend the hotel to provide more fans. Additionally, the room was a bit updated for the price.

The location was amazing, the staff were very polite and did everything they could to make my stay a pleasant one.

I do think they should alter the tables so people aren't staring at others. It may be for them to see the view but ones by the windows have to look sideways. Everyone feels quite subconscious and one couple asked to be moved

Amazing grounds, wonderful breakfast choices and super helpful attentive staff. Ashley and his team are very service minded! Quiet corner of the world with a peekaboo view of Lake Windermere. Walk to Hilltop Farm Beatrix Potters home via the Bowness Ferry and the 8 pm Lake Cruise were the highlights.

Arrived during a heat wave. Room was warm and stuffy. The duvet was a warm winter cover and sheets were quite starchy. Pillows weren’t 5-star. Mattress was super stiff.

The location , the view from the communal areas. The food was great - Breakfast and Dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Decor was attractive and in keeping with the property.

The only downside was the room that we had was described as superior, although it was comfortable and nice decor, its size and the cramped bathroom didn't fit our expectations. Also the plumbing from the room above was noisy and kept us awake.

I liked the feeling of being tucked away from everything and yet Bowness is only on the doorstep. The hotel's decor is beautiful and the embience very peaceful and calming. The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I ate most evenings in the hotel's restaurant and the food was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was fabulous, I just wish I could have stayed longer so I could have sampled all the different options! My room, a single, was lovely and warm and offered tea, coffee etc with a homemade cookie left everyday. The toiletries smelt heavenly and I felt pampered after having a nice soak in the well sized bath. The grounds and garden at Lindeth Fell are maintained to a very high spec, the planting and colours truly spectaculour.

The only thing that I didn't like was the weather, it rained every day !! That is beyond Lindeth Fell's remit. 🤭

The gardens surrounding the hotel and the views from the windows are so beautiful. The hotel was very clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. I advised the staff that it was my fiancé’s birthday and they left a Happy Birthday card and a towel swan in the room. There were lots of nice little touches such as they put yummy cookies in the room each day. The breakfast was fantastic and the scrambled egg was the best that I have ever had in a hotel.

The only minor thing was a noise came from the pipes at about 4:30am on the first night and woke me up for about 5 minutes.

Incredible location and hospitality

We received a warm wlecome when we arrived and were shown to our room. The room was very clean with a lake view. Nice small, quiet hotel set in beautiful gardens. The staff were very attentive. Breakfast was very good with more or less everything you could want.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like.

The location was incredible, with the beautiful views to look out on each day. The staff were lovely and very kindly upgraded our room for our 50th which was above and beyond. Breakfast was wonderful each day, and their were certainly some items that were my favourite. All in all a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend for people to stay here.😍

Some of the breakfast items we weren't the biggest fan of such as the salmon but that may be personal preference rather than it being bad!

The room was beautifully clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and attentive, always at hand to help when needed. The breakfast each morning was superb with a great selection. All in lovely well tended grounds.

Maybe need more than one vegetarian option for evening meal. Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful locations and great food. The room was large and very comfortable - lots of chilling and close to Bo’ness.

We made a last minute decision to head to the Lakes for a couple of nights and this was an absolute gem of a find. The house itself is in a lovely setting and just far enough away from town to feel like you're away from the bustle. The staff are brilliant, very professional but equally welcoming and friendly. Breakfast has plenty of choice with good quality produce. Our room was a good size and immaculately clean. I feel the room was reasonably priced and we would absolutely stay here again in the future.

L’accueil a été très agréable, le personnel est souriant et serviable. Nous avons dîné au restaurant, un délicieux repas, avec un serveur très attentionné, nous chuchotant quelques mots en français. La carte du menu n’est pas très longue mais largement suffisante et à mon avis c’est plutôt un gage de qualité. Bravo à toute l’équipe pour ce beau travail. Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel.

Maybe a couple more choices on the evening meal menu, though what we had was tasty.

Breakfast was great. The main meal we had was fine, but the choice was limited. We only ate in one night as we wanted more to choose from for a second night. To be fair to the hotel, from the start, they did recommend local restaurants and the one we selected was excellent.
