Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Staff were arrogant,unhelpful and unprofessional. They don’t even look at you when being spoken or speaking to customers. And also interrupted personal conversation. I am the member they told me I can’t register mentorship there while in other hotel I could.
Phone was broken which was very inconvenient but they didn’t seem to care when we told them. Overall very old. Dusty and Aircon seems not cleaned so we coughed a lot.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2026both the facility and rooms were very average, not well air conditioned, inside the rooms the air conditioner was cold enough but was very humid, all the comforter sheets were damp, had to use a blow dryer to dry it, to be comfortable. I'm beginning to notice a pattern, this being a problem across China, had either has to do with government policies or local businesses trying tricks to save energy while still charging a five-star price. after this experience and trip to China, I will certainly alter my strategy in the future, there there seem to be no need to overpay when they play the same game, not providing the level of comfort you're paying for

I would especially like to thank Hailie and Tom at the Front Office for their warm welcome, professionalism, and willingness to help throughout my stay. A special thank you also goes to Krystal in the Executive Lounge, whose kindness and attentive service made every visit a pleasure. The hotel is comfortable, the staff is outstanding, and the overall experience fully meets the standards expected of a Hilton property. My only disappointment concerns the Diamond member welcome amenity. Having to collect the complimentary fruit voucher yourself on the way to your room does not reflect what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. A welcome amenity should be delivered to the room or presented in a more elegant and convenient way. It is a small detail, but details are what distinguish a true 5 star hotel experience. Apart from this, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning.

What disappointed me most was being asked to pay an additional room deposit of 1200 before checking inn, on top of the accommodation fee, for "damages" while other 8 guests in my group ( non black) did not seem to be asked for the same, even though our travel arrangements were planned and handled by the same travel agent. When I requested clarification, the explanation given was vague and unconvincing. This left me feeling uncomfortable and wondering whether I was being treated differently unfairly. It was also not clearly explained when or how the deposit would be refunded. Another major downside was the internet connection, which was extremely poor. If you are staying here for work or need reliable access, you may need your own independent internet connection. Overall, the hotel has a lovely appearance, but the handling of the deposit situation and poor internet service negatively affected my experience.

Rooms (well arranged), staff (available and kind), breakfast (amazing), lunch and diner (multiple choices and very good). Everything is much appreciated. This time, I met Sylvie from the front desk and she was so helpful regarding our various requests. She speaks English and also French which was perfect. Thank you very much. The food choices are limited for the happy hours but the afternoon tea has some fruits, figure foods and a few soft drinks. This hotel does NOT deserve to be called "International." 1. Severe Language Barrier: Communication was exhausting. Aside from the Concierge, almost no one—including Front Desk and Breakfast staff—could speak or understand basic English. I had to rely entirely on translation apps for every simple request. For a 5-star international chain in Shanghai, this is unacceptable. 2. Service Failures: The service standards have dropped significantly. No support: No one offered to help with luggage upon arrival. Housekeeping: Toiletries were not restocked during my stay. When I requested them, my request was ignored. Management: Simple issues escalated unnecessarily because regular staff could not communicate, forcing me to call a manager just to get basic problems solved. Verdict: If you do not speak Chinese, avoid this hotel. It operates like a local budget hotel with a Hilton price tag. There are much better options in the Hongqiao area that actually welcome international guests.

This hotel does not deserve to be called “international”!! Most of the staff did not speak or understand English, which made communication extremely difficult and exhausting throughout the stay—especially during breakfast!! There were very limited food options without pork, and every question required translation, making the experience frustrating and time-consuming!! Despite our confirmed reservation for three people, the room was prepared for only two, and we were initially asked to pay extra for the third guest until the staff admitted their mistake!! Housekeeping was unacceptable!! Toiletries were not refilled, requests were ignored, and issues were only resolved after involving a manager!! Upon arrival, despite carrying several shopping bags and luggage, no staff member offered any assistance!! Overall, the hotel failed to meet basic hospitality standards!! We felt discriminated against, and the stay was extremely disappointing!!
