The location was good. Breakfast plentiful.
This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. It was disgustingly dirty. The photos are AI generated as it did not look like this. Especially the pool and spa was worm out. Bedrooms though spacious were especially dirty. The toilet was disgusting and blood on the duvet. Restaurant food felt microwave heated. Staff not that great either. Avoid all cost.
Room was beautiful but shower didn’t drain and was flooding the bathroom shower gel bottles were just for show as empty room smelled like it needed an airing
All the carpets through out looked like they need a good hoover seemed to have skeleton staff I came here about 10 years ago and it was a beautiful hotel and was busy seemed very run down so a little disappointing on arrival people were shouting at the reception at how dirty there rooms were. Spa seemed run down and no treatments available dinner menu was very poor choice breakfast was ok as a self service breakfast just think needs some money spent and more staff to keep on top of it
Loved the spa facilities with lovely pool was truly outstanding together with the massage treatment i had was amazing, more than i expected. The garden with sculptures together with the restaurant outlook to the grounds was beautiful .
There wasn't anything.
The staff
Outdated.l, uncomfortable, poor menu choices. Expensive
The staff were nice and helpful
Our room didn't have a fridge in the "bar" cupboard, smelt funny and we saw a toenail on the carpet! so we changed rooms to one that had a fridge. The cost was £159 per night and the carpets were worn and it all looked ver tired.
Convienient
Skeleton staff, breakfast tables we had to clean and lay ourselves. Overall shabby needs updating.
Nothing
Room was shabby, bathroom old and tired, bedding not properly made. Check in was chaotic, everyone moaning about their rooms and check in not straightforward. Staff were not around. Breakfast was awful. My fried egg was like a piece of rubber, I left all the cooked breakfast. Yoghurt and toast ok, although there was a coffee machine in the room no pods of coffee to use with it. Won’t be returning.
The warm outside pool.
Most of the pool and spa facilities brocken. No robes available!!!.. wallpaper ripped off in places in bedroom. No toiletries!!!. Short staffed and waiting time very long and slow for dinner.
The nember of staff that greeted us was very welcoming professional/charming a credit to Fredericks Hotel & Spa. The room was clean the beds comfortable & had a great sleep ! The facilities were OK (the grounds although maintained a tad unloved ) areas that could do with a bit of attention & upkeep) that aside I would stay here again & would recommend to others !
I did like ..Sraff were professional & welcoming . Unable to pass comment on the restaurant as we dined out! Perhaps another time & another stay at Fredericks Hotel & Spa!
Lack of electrical sockets No bed side lights Air conditioning not working Noisy overnight due to leaking pipe outside the window, therefore windows closed and a stuffy room.
Ee were upgraded to the Bridal Suite. The spa facilities were good.
There appeared to be a shortage of staff which resulted in waiting at the bar for someone to serve us. We had no breakfast tea in the room only fruit teas and herbal. Had to request from the kitchen.
Friendly staff, lovely outside pool that was heated and comfortable beds. We asked for more teabags and milk and this wasn't a problem.
The spa felt a bit dated but it was fine.
The food was very good and the wait staff in the dining room excellent. The pool--which is in need of some tile work repairs--was lovely. The spa was good, but it was a challenge to book desired amenities.
The first room we were assigned was quite, quite disappointing. Many stains on the carpets. Wallpaper peeling. Furniture "tired" looking. No bar fridge although that was advertised as being available. The bathroom tap dripped, the toilet ran. The lounge chairs at the pool had ripped covers, patio umbrellas were tossed aside, the planter broken and neglected, poolside outdoor tables needed wiping and the patio grounds needed sweeping. The grounds needed a maintenance crew to clean up papers and cans blown about--every day! Our television worked only intermittently and froze. Good internet, but the phone for contacting the front desk was in the bathroom not at the main desk in the room. Furniture needs to be replaced--all chipped and shabby looking. my husband had to clean the equipment in the gym area. Who is responsible for this kind of servicing? Lovely steam and sauna. . At check out two reception attendants did not offer to help carry luggage up the stairs to catch the taxi. They did little to say come again or thanks for your patronage. Hard to believe this is rated 4 Stars!!
The hotel staff were very nice and friendly. The pool was a bonus but it was broken.
The whole hotel is super dated, it REALLY needs a good renovation. The staff were lovely but the whole place felt dirty, dusty and very OLD. I would NOT stay here again, totally not worth the money.
The SPA manager was great
Everything is in a state of disrepair theres an obvious lack of attention to detail and maintenance unfortunately
No air conditioning. Then electric went down (outside of control of hotel admittedly) which compounded the discomfort. The hotel decor needs some care and attention to bring it up to par.
The room we had had patio door and tables and chairs you could sit outside the room the facilities on the property was very good
The room I had booked and the pictures they showed me on the room I was getting wasn’t the room they gave me. I spoke to the guy at the front desk. He come and had a look and I showed him my email on the room I was getting and I had gave it to someone else but I was with my partner and I don’t like moaning. I don’t like to be stressed so I just went with it we had no toilet roll in the bathroom, but I don’t know. I had some toilet roll in my bag so I use that. We walked into the restaurant for breakfast at 20 to 10 and the lady said it was finished so we didn’t get my breakfast. I thought breakfast finished at 10 o’clock but not to worry we went down the road and brought our own breakfast apart from that yeah lovely location nice hotel lovely facilities. I just switched off and went with what I had because we was there for the night having a bit of quality time.
The breakfast was freshly cooked & tasty, although by 0900 on 2nd day the pastries had all gone. The guy at the Spa the only friendly staff member. Shower great & bathroom good size. 10 to 15 minute walk to Maidenhead & the station
Tried to check in at 1430, got told by rude (possibly) manager check in no earlier than 1500. Understood that but 10 minutes later they allowed another couple to check in! Air con unit not working (guy at reception said yeah it doesnt in room 4 & that there was a fan in room - there wasnt). Requested body wash as bottle nearly empty - didnt arrive. Only 3 single power sockets in the room and one of those by the door. Some spa facilities in need of repair. Whole building looking tired inside & out. A 4 star this is not
Spa was nice with very enthusiastic staff member who showed us around. Breakfast was also very good with helpful and attentive staff member. air conditioning very efficient.
There was no shampoo/shower gel in bathroom (albeit this was provided on request) Bath lacked a plug and coffee cup wasn't properly clean
Friendly staff and good food.
Room was very hot
Friendly team. Room was spacious. Pool (outside/inside) very nice, the grounds large and well maintained.
Airconditioning did not work. Breakfast below average.
Lovely spa and really friendly helpful staff
Breakfast was rather average
Really enjoyed the spa, the breakfast, the amount of parking and how spacious the rooms were.
If i had to say something, some of the finishings were a little dated but certainly nothing that effected my stay.
Lovely pool, and the gardens are beautiful
We booked a standard double room. The curtains didn’t cover the windows, the room was dirty and the bed was NOT a double. It was 3/4 size at best- not for 2adults. Disgraceful.
The hotel feels dated and tired. No phone in the room and had to make your own tea and coffee at breakfast, the iron was taped together with sellotape, there was no air conditioning in the room
Nice bed
Once everything is repaired it will be great :) Fab breakfast Nice spa staff
Reception not friendly. No info in room on meal times or menu or anything about the hotel Half of gym broken and pool functions not working, chipped missing tiles etc
The peace
I cannot recommend this hotel for business travelers. I requested an invoice issued in my company's name both before my stay and again immediately afterwards. Despite making the request within the required timeframe, the hotel refused to issue it, claiming that more than one week had passed. This is simply not true. The request was made on time, yet instead of helping to resolve the issue, they only looked for excuses to avoid providing the documentation. If you travel for business and need proper invoicing, I would recommend choosing another hotel. The customer service was disappointing and unnecessarily difficult over a basic administrative request.
Breakfast was exceptional
I went here about 17 or 18 years ago and it was amazing. Since then it has gone to rack and ruin. No maintenence has been done, everywhere is shabby and grubby. Nothing in the spa works properly, the sauna is like a warm cupboard. Really disappointed, it is so run down.
Outside sunbathing area
Absolutely disgusting really dusty, dirty everywhere in communal hall ways, staircase never hoovered, in bathroom of room 205 the unit cabinets door hanging off, water gets blocked when showering, no shower gel, hand wash or cream, fan in room full of dust when you switch it on - dust blows everywhere, swimming pool too hot, bed you can feel the springs in your back, the photos online are decieving as my room was nothing like that. The lighting in room is horrendous
A thoroughly enjoyable stay, thanks to all the staff.
Others leaving empties, that were still there the next day. If you take it out, take it in. Its not on the staff, it's the clients! So thanks to the staff who do clean up after these folk.
Garden
No fridge. Ancient furniture. No hangers. Awful coffee.
Friendly staff and beautiful grounds
The room had stale smell of cigarettes and carpet had stains. Bed not comfortable.. no air conditioning and fan was not effective
Gym closed but not informed. Shabby decorating and dirty carpets. Cheap bathroom suits. Poor decorating
Hotel was dated and unclean
The hotel was unclean
breakfast was good
Location. Room was nicely cool.
Very tired. Old fashioned. Windows dirty. Electrics in room in poor condition. Breakfast poor.
Friendly staff
Our bed was really soft, difficult to sleep on. Super squashy! Asked to move rooms but hotel was full and only available rooms had no air con. Had to wait a while to get served in the bar.
Very dated but in a quirky enjoyable way
We stayed here in June 2026. My room and my sister's were both burgled. Thames Valley Police have told us that a master key was stolen in 2025 and they are investigating this alongside the burglaries – the same suspect on the hotel's CCTV in both circumstances. We viewed the hotel’s CCTV and it turns out a member of staff recognised the person from an earlier incident! Yet the hotel has done nothing to change the locks on the bedrooms or install in-room safes or promote use of the hotel's safe. There are no signs about security in reception and absolutely no information of any kind whatsoever in the bedrooms in which we stayed. Online reviews show that a bride was burgled here on her pre-wedding night, after the master key was stolen, yet still no action by the hotel owners. The hotel denies any responsibility, has shown no remorse and offered no compensation. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
No breakfast No electrics No proper water No ac in a heat wave this all happened worst trip ever and got no refund!
The shower barely worked, there was no AC in the room and the tap in the bathroom was loose.
Had a lovely time in the spa. It is a little tired and needs some work but overall, the spa is really nice and relaxing.
Very tired and lots of things broken. Room felt very grubby and the bathroom was not cleaned well at all, dirty toilet seat, broken towel rail, shower head was in a bad state with lots of limescale and water just trickles out. Air con did not work and the restaurant was closed. Overall, a really awful hotel (apart from the spa) to the point we did not stay the night and actually left early after only a few hours. Would not recommend.
All the staff are friendly and helpful.
Not clean, lots of things broken
Could be a nice hotel
Absolutely dirty, my shed cleaner, never stayed anywhere so dirty, room hadn't even been cleaned, I nearly asked for hover, I sat on bed , felt itchy I couldn't see anything but could I feel bits in bed, I rang booking.com after trying to settle in my second room, reception seemed to understand I couldn't stay even one night, due to the rooms been dirty, stasted I would be refunded in morning as I had book 5 night, now they have refused, who ever owns the place should be ashamed, this is not 4 star, such a beautiful building, basic policy for sky hotel to provide clean room, the pictures don't show the true diety visible to the eye.
Desayuno
Hotel no bien mantenido, no disponen de cosas basicas necesarias para viajeros como shampoo
Room was quiet
Very tatty in general. We had to move rooms as first room had no running water, second room was tired and overall in need of decoration. No air conditioning and only a small fan in the room. Curtains broken and fell off the rail
Everything
Need some hard pillows 😉
Sadly this was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. We arrived for early check in at 11am to be informed that there was no power and this had been the case all morning, the staff did not think to call ahead to inform us of this before our arrival. This meant we were unable to use air con/ fans during the heatwave, turn lights on, use phone chargers or any amenities in the room. The bathroom had no windows and because there was no power for the lights to work, it was unsafe to use the shower because it was pitch black all day. The power did not come back on in our room at all in the 24 hours we were there. The room it's self was very dated, poor cleanliness and the upkeep in general.was of a very low standard. When raising this to the manager I was told I would be refunded the £20 early check in fee and a small percentage of the stay. This is incredibly disappointing as we have spent just under £100 for a bed in a hot and unclean room. I would not recommend this hotel and I will never be returning.
The property is very old There was no Aircon and there was no fridge. It looked like someone had taken it. I don’t know in the room.
The property had no power. I ended up leaving at 11 o’clock. I’ve tried to request a refund and it got declined so I’m very frustrated… the manager knew there was no power for morning he should’ve called the people that was coming down to give them a heads up as I don’t live too far from the hotel.
Excellent helpful and caring staff. Loved being able to swim outside in a nicely heated pool. Hotel is quiet and very relaxing. The hot food at breakfast is freshly made to order which is so much nicer than helping yourself to food from a buffet style breakfast where food never tastes as fresh. The chef made me an omelette which was one of the nicest I've ever tasted and so light. I would have no hesitation in returning and can only say a big thank you to you all.
Nothing
Due to a problem with the power supply there was no electricity supply to our room and no option to move. Restaurant could only offer a very limited service. The staff didn't seem to have any initiative as to what to do leaving customers very unhappy and potentially unsafe. They did offer a 25% refund on check out if you complained. All in all a very disappointing stay we will not be going back and wouldn't recommend.
We unfortunately arrived to a power cut, which was not their fault.......However, things got worse with the room being unclean, sticky and dusty. The toilet wasn't clean and the toilet brush was disgusting. The tap was broken and the shower head was fixed so low that my husband was unable to stand under it. Our door didn't shut on its own so we spent the night with the door open as we didn't notice until morning. The room lighting was terrible and the bathroom light was so bright with a very loud fan. The pillows were thin and there were no tea bags in the selection. At breakfast we found that the menu was not operating and it was self service. It was terrible, The hot food was cold and no vegetarian option. There were two waitresses, but neither were clearing the tables so we were sat between dirty plates. The toaster didn't fit the bread so you had to turn it over to toast the top. Very disappointing! No way is this a 4* Hotel.
We booked this hotel as a spar break with woucher. Upon arrival it looked really nice from outside. Reception was ok, the room wasn't ready, but was told unfortunately the room doesn't have air-conditioning but dose have a fan. Went to the bar area, but no one was behind the bar, rang the bell and about 5 minutes a member of staff, came out, asked for a beer, but was told cant serve alcohol till 1800 ( website says different). The bar man addressed my partner as love, not madam as we would have expected. Upon getting the room keys we went to the room, but the carpets looked like they were 50 years old, hadn't been hovered in weeks, at the bottom of the stairs to the second floor, was bags of laundry lying around, hover parts just dumped and hadn't been hovered in ages, photos will show this. Upon entering the room, it was roasting and smelt musty. It looked as it had been cleaned, but not to a good standard. Where the fridge was, it was just an empty cupboard with a smashed wood work at the back, so they could access the power sockets. The bathroom was clean, but was old and tired, the bedside tables had an open bottom shelf, but was full off dust. A tissue box was present, but only had 1 tissue inn. We reported the no fridge to reception, who kindly did offer us a suite, but it was at the top of the hotel, we looked and declined as it was even hotter up in the roof of the hotel, this still had no air-conditioning and the fridge wasn't working. There was discarded plastic on the carpet on the stairs/ landing on the way to the suite. The spar was , well not a spar in my eyes, about 4 meters long and about 2 meters wide, except the outside part of the pool, fortunately it was very good weather, but if it wasn't there would have been no where to sit or swim. Outside was about 10 sets of sun loungers, but 90 % of them just had towels on, spoke to the spar staff, who looked and said there is one there, but without an umbrella in very hot temperatures. There attitude was it is what it is. The outside pool was nice and the water nice and warm. The whole hotel looked grubby, the dinning room area furniture was a miss match, the walls and ceiling had unpainted plaster, obviously been repaired before, the wood work on the doors to i would assume a storage area were in desperate need of a good paint. We was ment to have a glass of prosecco on arrival, but that wasn't offerd, had to ask the waitress at dinner time, who went to enquire, we dis get a glass of house wine instead. Upon receiving our bill for evening meal and drinks, it didn't have the £40 dinning credit on, the waitress did ask us for our room number before sitting diwn, so hotel didn't inform the restaurant side, we had to put the bill on our room and sort the evening meal credit out with reception in the morning at check out The bar staff kept charging different prices for myself and my partner, when she went to the bar. Overall the hotel was grubby, dirty, staff were miserable, except the young waitress/ bar lady. The hotel is in need of a major renovation. Certainly not a 4 star hotel, even Travelodge is better in my eyes. Wouldn't even give it 1 star on a review, but thats the least I can do. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never stay here again.
Do not book here. Hotel is awful, old, terrible service, dirty and not a 4* hotel. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls, there is mould in the bathtub. The bed is broken, no full length mirror. The pool was dirty and broken gates and old broken sunbeds are scattered in the corners of the pool area. I have looked at comments from the manager saying the hotel is going under a renovation but there are no signs of this at all. Its honestly like faulty towers. The bar was closed and you have to knock on a door saying staff only to get someone to serve you. The only positive is that we got some money off the room. A premier inn is much better than this hotel. So many people have complained today and we will be reporting them for fraudulent advertising as a 4* hotel. I heard someone found chicken bones on the floor in their room and an elderly couple were placed on the 2nd floor when they had asked for an accessible room.
Swimming pool
NO AIR-CONDITIONING! (Just an unstable fan, blowing warm air around the room) Cheap thin toilet paper. No spare pillows. No staff at reception when you check-in, I’ve stayed here about four times, and there’s never been anyone at reception when I check-in, so I’m left standing around trying to ring the hotel in, which nobody ever answers.
The room was very spacious with plenty of storage. The staff were friendly and welcoming
There isn't enough staff. On the Saturday night of our stay the restaurant wasn't open because there was a 50th in the function room. On the Sunday morning we had to wait 15mins for breakfast items because they only had 1 chef on.
I liked how reasonable the price was and how lovely the hotel was and the spa was beautiful
The check in was extremely late. Wasted half the day.
The staff is really nice, friendly and helpful, there was a nice event the night we stayed, and the bed was very comfortable, but unfortunately the pool and the room were dirty. We went there especially for the pool but we didn’t actually use it because wasn’t clean since long time I believe. I don’t understand why this hotel is 4 stars.
The staff were lovely
Everything. We took our 13 year old our room was dirty , live wires hanging out of the lights. Bathroom had so many stains in.
Friendly Staff / decent breakfast / good food in evening / comfy bed /
Very dated! Needs refurb to bring up to date. Kettle leaked. Not as clean as expected.
The staff was lovely helpful.
None
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room is spacious.
The place is really dated. The shower is not nice. The aircon was not working. The breakfast often doesn't have any fruit.
Everything
Could have more selection for breakfast
It was in a good location
The rooms were very outdated & there was wall paper coming off walls & empty contact lenses on side table & mould
The breakfast
Not very clean room very dated chipped bath stained carpet some paper off the wall
The swimming pool that’s about it
Very outdated, it’s like no one cares when you stay here
Whilst the hotel does need some updating. I visited with friends for one of their tribute nights and what a fab evening. A little skeptical as it was only £40 for 2 course meal & Elton tribute. Turned out to be a great success, food was very good as was ‘Elton’. Met some lovely new friends as we shared tables and danced the night away. Can’t wait to return for the next tribute night.
Location.
Room was very tired. Mattress was old, soft and lumpy. Room are in desperate need of a serious makeover.
Came here for business, stayed in room 109, room and bathroom was nice. The only thing was during the night shadows crossed the room, coat hangers moved in the wardrobe, back of head and back touched whilst I was awake and throughout the night I kept waking up and directly in front of me was my face staring back at me. Was a very strange experience. Breakfast was banging.
A very clean and comfortable place to stay
Nothing
Sian organised the wake for my partners mum’s funeral and we were so impressed from start to finish. She was really thorough, understanding and added a personal touch for what we wanted and was able to provide a great selection of food for our friends and family. The hotel manager Bryan stepped in with some emergency help in the kitchen to ensure the food was cooked and served on time. We can’t thank them enough. Marcus was also a great help at hosting. The 2 of us stayed overnight and had a good evening meal. The room was really comfortable.
Location
The name is misleading and suggests that the hotel is going to be much more grand than it is. It was very tired looking and on one of the hottest days pf the year the air conditioning was not working. In fact apparently was only working in 7 of the rooms in the entire hotel.
The hotel clearly has potential and some of the staff were pleasant
We stayed at Frederick’s Hotel mid-week expecting a relaxing 4-star spa hotel experience, but unfortunately the overall experience did not justify the price charged. The property felt very dated and underinvested. Our room was tired, with maintenance issues including a constantly dripping tap. Normally that would have been a minor annoyance, except we had to run a fan continuously overnight because the room became unbearably warm. One of the biggest frustrations was the lack of air conditioning. While the website appears to show air conditioning units in some of the room photos, there is no clear statement explaining that all rooms do not actually have air conditioning. Given the price point, this felt misleading by omission, especially during warmer weather. There were also several smaller operational issues which, together, gave the impression of a hotel cutting corners: * Two beer pumps had run dry in the bar with no offer to change barrels. * Dinner service finishing at 7:45pm feels unusually early for a hotel of this type. * At both breakfast and in the spa area, staff began tidying and effectively shutting down around 15 minutes before the advertised closing time, which made guests feel rushed and unwelcome. *The continental breakfast was small, meagre options and not worth the money, leaving you no choice but to choose the more expensive hot option. *the fire safety instructions look like they have been drawn up 50 years ago and not updated since, falling below the modern UK fire safety standards and best practice. The hotel markets itself as a premium spa destination, but the experience currently feels much closer to an average, dated hotel charging premium prices. To then charge these rates mid-week without breakfast included makes the value proposition even harder to justify. The overall impression was not one catastrophic problem, but rather a steady accumulation of small disappointments, poor maintenance, and lack of attention to guest experience.
A quirky old building but don’t let that put you off. We stayed for two nights to attend a family wedding just down the road. We had four rooms in total some on the newer side and some in the older part of the building. Don’t get me wrong it is in need of some TLC but it’s functional and in a great location just 15 mins into the centre of Maidenhead. The outside seating area was lovely with beautifully maintained gardens. I didn’t go in the spa but others did and said it was great. The breakfast was yummy. The main reason for my 4 star rating was the professionalism and dedication of the General Manager who resolved a few issues we had on arrival; nothing was too much. I observed him running a very busy hotel quite the most hard working person. Thanks for making our family time perfect.
We stayed at Fredrick’s Hotel for our wedding weekend and unfortunately experienced a number of issues that significantly affected both our stay and that of our guests. Condition of the Hotel: The hotel itself is noticeably run down. Several rooms were dated, fixtures were worn, and outdoor furniture was broken or missing cushions. This set the tone for what became a series of operational and safety concerns. Room & Facilities: Several rooms, including ours, had faulty door mechanisms that made it extremely difficult to exit. My son and I became stuck multiple times, and during the 3am fire alarm this became genuinely frightening. Other guests reported similar issues with their doors, and one suite had a patio door that couldn’t be locked and had to be propped shut with an ironing board. Most rooms also had non‑functional air conditioning during a heatwave. Some guests were given fans, others were not, which added to the discomfort. Fire Alarm Incident: The fire alarm went off in the early hours, and although staff eventually responded, several guests reported that their alarms did not activate properly. This is extremely concerning. Being unable to exit a room safely during an alarm is unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one hosting wedding guests. Food & Bar Service: Food we had pre‑ordered was brought out without anyone informing us, meaning guests didn’t know it had arrived. The bar was also severely understaffed, resulting in long waits for drinks. While staffing issues can happen, the communication around this felt dismissive rather than apologetic. Overall: We had hoped the hotel would provide a comfortable and reliable base for our wedding guests, but unfortunately many left disappointed, and at least one chose to find alternative accommodation. Several of the issues we experienced were safety‑related and require urgent attention. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.
We went yesterday to the hotel and spa and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, and all the staff were amazing. A special thank you to Al from the spa reception, who greeted us with such warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm. He made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable!
We travelled for worked and was "wowed" by this hotel! The Staff were all friendly and attentive and helpful, the breakfast was great, i had a cheese and mushroom omelette which was lovely. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the shower was lovely but our favourite part of the stay was the spa. The gentleman on front desk was so lovely and helpful and absolutely made our stay. the swim out pool, sauna and steam room was a lovely treat after a long day at work. We will definitely be returning. We have another work event in July and will be looking to rebook here!
If anything, the bed could have been a little comfier as it was a little springy, but other than that, i have no other complaints.
Poor toaster & coffee dispenser. Need upgrading. No fresh fruit on Sunday buffet breakfast. No choice of pastries.
Choice of fresh fruit. Choice of fresh pastries. Modern faster toaster.
Location for attending a local wedding. Ample parking.
fire procedure (alarm went off at 3am and various things then happened - no checking all staying residents had evacuated, non convincing response as to why the alarm was set off, doors which wouldn’t open properly), slowness of drinks at the bar, air con didn’t work and fan not put together properly to use, hot water took 10 minutes to heat, unable to move shower head with soaking the bathroom, no ceiling light
Friendly, helpful staff. Well furnished, comfortable room ( except for lack of working air-conditioning, see below ). Lovely gardens. Excellent breakfast. And no fire alarm going off during the night ( as happened on our recent previous stay! ).
Lack of working air conditioning unit meant that it was necessary to keep windows open at night in recent extreme heat wave conditions. The electric fan which had been provided as a substitute for, whilst efficient was noisy. This together with considerable traffic noise from the road meant little sleep … again!
The location was great for my purposes.
The bathroom could have done with a better clean, cabinet door was missing, Extractor fan didn't work. The room was very warm and the aircon barely did anything. I had booked a small double room but it was just a twin room with the beds pushed together, with separate sheets and duvets etc. Breakfast had no fresh fruit on offer and the fruit juices were from concentrate. Overall it was disappointing for the money.
We decided to book a last minute stay and it was perfect. With the heat we were able to enjoy a cosy air conditioned room and the pool - it was so peaceful! We felt like we were on a proper holiday! Al was so welcoming and attentive, making sure that guests were constantly looked after and going the extra mile where he could. We will definitely visit again.
Location was great and close to the train station (we just didn't realize it was 90% uphill - our error). Beautiful lobby, spa, and garden. Pleasant and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast!!! Well worth the cost!
Hallway, Sandringham Suite and its restroom were spacious and clean, just a bit dated in contrast to the lobby and other common areas. On our way out for the evening we notified the desk that the patio door's lock mechanism wasn't working properly. When we returned we were told it had been fixed, but it was still loose and the bottom screw in the faceplate was turning freely, unattached. We felt secure enough in our surroundings so left this as it was and went to sleep. We did mention at checkout that it was not working in the hope that they would attend to it more thoroughly after we left. I only mention because some travelers hold security as a top consideration and we felt the room could have been more secure.
Nice hotel, comfortable room. Staff very helpful. 8 GBP Uber trip to the center of Maidenhead.
The breakfast was poor. No scrammbled eggs, no fruit, no granola or porridge.
We had the perfect day. Massage by Karen was really good. Afternoon tea was so tasty. Al was very welcoming and explained everything.
When we arrived at Frederick Hotel, we was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. James offered to take our suitcases to our room. Lovely Hotel gardens are beautiful. Got a lovely swimming pool and spa. Shania, James very very helpful. Already booked for next month. We belong to the Dance Party and they have started with venues at Frederick Hotel. So it is lovely to stay the night.. The manager his very approachable and friendly. 100% satisfied with our stay
Nice big room and bed , staff very friendly .
Very poor lighting in the bathroom and bedroom .
Staff were so helpful and kind. We were there for a funeral and they did everything in their remit to make our stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible including setting up chairs and a quiet space in the beautiful garden. The hotel is a little dated but its super comfortable, clean and spacious. The spa is lovely and the heated swimming pool was a real bonus.
Breakfast needs some improvement.
Aesthetics were fab! Pool was incredible
Barely stocked bar with minimal choice meant we had to get a "grocery" delivery via uber! Also hadn't been advised that restaurant was closed due to an event, so had to get food delivered too
Spa needs a clean up
Just needs a revamp every we’re
The spa facilities were very clean and in good condition, the staff were very friendly and helpful and explained how iur day was planned and where to go for each stage. The treatments were very good, I had a pedicure and the lady was lovely, and chatted and did an amazing job on my feet. My friend had a full body massage and said the treatment was amazing and suggested another treatment but without any sales pressure. The afternoon tea was amazing and catered for my friend with gluten option and it was delicious 😋 Would definitely recommend a visit
What a gorgeous surprise. Lovely hotel , rooms well maintained and service was great. The spa is brand new and is beautiful - fabulous indoor/ outdoor pool , lovely surrounding gardens and a top notch neck shoulder and back massage. Food was good but breakfast was limited due to hungry corporates getting there early ! Order off the menu was good though. Excellent value !
The location itself is lovely — a beautiful old-fashioned English hotel with a nice character. However, the inside feels very outdated. The bathtub were leaking continually and the furniture and overall condition of the rooms really need upgrading and better maintenance. The hotel would definitely benefit from some renovation and more attention to detail to match the charm of the location itself.
Nice comfy beds and clean and modern bathroom. Staff attentive and obliging. Loved the spa and outdoor heated pool!
Location
Outdated, dirty, bath tap wouldn’t turn off, staff were not friendly and not helpful
From the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out I was disappointed and incredibly annoyed I hadn’t done my research into this hotel. The decor was outdated, the bath gap didn’t switch off the entire two nights I stayed, the carpet looked like it hadn’t been hoovered in weeks and the staff were miserable. I would never recommend or return to this hotel!
Great location with spa facilities. Friendly helpful staff
Not a lot I didn’t like.
The staff were great and the spa pool was good .
This hotel is long overdue a refit. Room was dusty and bathroom plumbing was unreliable, no plugs. Only service room if leave out sign..don’t supply sign. Food was poor pub grub.Dining room was cold and grubby. Wouldn’t recommend to friend. Half an hour team effort with cleaner and a tidy up of road side approach could make an improvement. The whole place is just worn out .
