The old charm, nice, period property. Brilliant location.
A little too expensive for what you get. For the price i would expect additional features such as a spa facility or evening meal as part of the price, free minibar (examples)
Location. Building. Bedroom. Food at breakfast. Young bar staff worked hard. Excellent reception staff.
Coffee at breakfast. Shower pressure not high enough. Need fridges in the bedrooms.
Luoghi comuni e camera molto belli, colazione buona
Abbiamo cenato lì la prima sera ma non è stata una cena eccezionale
The breakfast did not arrive because the staff failed to communicate with one another . We waited for an hour. Very young staff not being managed
Over dinner our order was mixed up vegetables did not arrive but they were put on our bill we had to check to get the charge removed .
Location, amenities and lovely staff!
The lovely receptionist greeted us and announced that she had upgraded our room. A charming character hotel with an excellent breakfast.

Bar service was dreadful and lacked any professional standard.

Friendly & helpful staff, room was clean & comfortable
The location and history of the building
Holes in curtains. Carpet thread bare. Overcooked and long delays with breakfast
The room was clean, tea and coffee facilities in the room especially the small bottle of milk rather than the usual small pods. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The welcome at reception was warm. The location was excellent for exploring the Cotswolds. The bed was comfortable.
The lack of attention to detail for example; the ceramic top of the tap had fallen off, the blind was wonky when raised, the latch on bathroom door had been replaced but the old screw holes had not been made good, the shower leaked. It was difficult to find a place to park in the car park. The quality of the food could have been improved. We had planned to eat in the hotel restaurant both nights but changed our minds after the first evening meal.
Location
Excellent location, great food and fantastic staff.
The shower head needs cleaning or replacing as some of the holes appear to be blocked as the amount of water and power was very low.
It was beautiful very clean and staff were great
The room was lovely and spacious, it was very well equipped with beautiful Molton Brown products, still water, fresh milk and teas and coffees. Water was lovely and hot and good pressure, as well as a very lovely comfortable bed. View from the Juliette balcony overlooked the garden and provided a picturesque view. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious.
It couldn't be helped perhaps, but we had some noisy guests/locals right outside our window who were loud and shouting until early hours of the morning. Frustrating as it is a fairly high priced hotel. Didn't draw away from the beautiful venue.
Great clean, comfortable and relaxing accommodation. Very warm and friendly staff with a good choice of breakfast options. Safe quiet car park and the hotel is in a great location for the Burford area.
Nothing really
Location and breakfast
Moth eaten carpet in our room. Not enough flow to shower properly in the bathroom. Bathroom towels smelt of fat from the extractor fan outside our bathroom window.
Stopped here recently for breakfast while visiting historic beautiful Burford I got the impression if you’re not staying in an inclusive tariff they get very little passing trade for breakfast Anyway the good points : Lovely picturesque hotel / pub just off the high st Pleasant staff Good value if you get all the ingredients you’re supposed to & the fact tea / coffee & buffet are included for £15.50 The bad points : No hash browns ( only realised after I left that they were meant to be included) Tomato wasn’t cooked ! Mushroom very dry / stiff & inedible Coffee very weak No checking half way through how things are All in all it wouldn’t take much for the Bay Tree to up its game Cmon people it’s not rocket science!
Fantastic staff who obviously enjoy their work and are kind and supportive of each other. Excellent customer service, lovely room and good breakfast.
Car parking was tricky but the staff brought out bags up and took to our car which was appreciated
Character property beautiful decor, fantastic front of house staff
Shower in sons standard room wasn’t high enough had to kneel down to use, however my deluxe room had walk in shower which was fabulous
Good location. Good Breakfast.
Very small room, very small windows so no air movement in the hot weather.
Great location fab staff
The shower was not very strong there was no water pressure.
Great location and beautiful courtyard garden
The dining area was large and lacked atmosphere
Beautiful hotel , attentive staff, great location.
Thought the bar area could be improved.
The room was very good and the staff were excellent
The cooked element of the breakfast was very poor. The mushrooms on the first day were raw the tomato was raw. On the second day my wife's breakfast was cold. The toast on both days was cold
Great location..Garden room superb
Beautifully building nice rooms lively staff
Breakfast was very poor quality very small portions
the garden is nice
no aircon and ly room located in West side which is too hot
Cosy room and amazing restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent!
Nothing
Stayed for one night in Windrush. The Hotel itself is delightfully traditional and authentic. A true cotswold experience. Our room was in an annex, well equipped and very comfortable. However, the toilet obviously had to be pumped and this was extremely noisy when in operation, and a surprise until we worked out what was happening! Perhaps an explanatory note would help? The room had 2 tv's, but only one remote?? Breakfast was disappointing, as we seemed to be blanked by the 2 staff on duty, one of which seemed a lot less than interested. Other couples were served and ate before we had our order taken. Disappointing, and could be so much better. Car par a bonus, but a little difficult to navigate.
The location was great and the building was pretty.
Breakfast was poor both days - poached eggs was only one egg, husbands full English was very small - one hash brown, one tomatoe, one rasher bacon and sausage. Beans were totally overdone and cheap. It was difficult to find staff in evening to get a drink/coffee. Felt like inexperienced staff with little training. Room wasn’t cleaned after first night.
Jasmine the cleaner is an excellent person and cleans very well
Wij hadden een fijne tuinkamer en maakte ook graag gebruik van de tuin. Want we hadden geweldig ( zonnig) weer in augustus.
Quintessentially Cotswolds.
The breakfast coffee was served in the cup and it was cold
breakfast
shower facility in bathroom
Fantastic place to stay just off the High street. Staff were all really chatty and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Great Gardens and plenty of spaces on car park.
Nothing. Everything perfect 👌
Everything it's a gorgeous place to stay.
This pub/hotel is in a great location just off the High Street. The car park is a narrow drive on the right just before the main entrance. We received a very nice friendly welcome and were grateful to be shown to our room and the lovely receptionist also offered to help with our luggage. We were staying just one night to celebrate our anniversary and stayed in 'Wychwood' which was quite small but comfortable. We enjoyed drinks in the garden served by very efficient and friendly staff and really enjoyed our evening meal of fish and chips and steak. There is a friendly and relaxed feel about the place and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Not quite a 5 star review as we were actually slightly disappointed with breakfast....the eggs benedict featured just one egg on half of a rather small muffin and the full English was not very generous ( the menu states that only one cooked breakfast per person is allowed, so I'm guessing that someone has previously asked for seconds!). We also popped to 'The Lamb' next door for a drink in the garden which was also very nice. Burford itself was extremely busy...just too many people and cars, so we probably won't return ( Stow on the Wold was also very crowded too) but we stopped at Broadway on the way home which was much more relaxed. Overall, a very nice place and an enjoyable stay.
Lunch only: disappointing, food used to be wonderful but now very ba sic thrown together without much thought. Chocolate mousses were very good but the asparagus and goats cheeses salad were. Not.Staff were very good, all friendly and capable
We had a lovely stay at the Bay Tree Hotel which is in a perfect location and has a great atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, especially Anya at the Reception who was lovely, and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed in the Ash Room, which is at the very top of the pub. The room itself was lovely, clean and comfortable. To make it even better, it would really benefit from some better cooling, especially during warmer weather, and a small fridge would have been a welcome addition. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily return.
Great staff, lovely rooms, fantastic food.

Everything, my wife and I have stayed at the Bay Tree several times and it never fails to be exceptional. The staff are always friendly, polite, helpful, courteous and professional. The building is very quirky and interesting, it is extremely old which adds to its charm. The service is never less than perfect and the food is delicious. On this particular occasion Amy, in reception, and Max, in the restaurant, were particularly good and made our stay very special. Thank you.

We loved our stay at the Bay Tree Hotel! Everything was perfect thanks and super service! We will defo come back!

Location
Loved the property
Hotel is beautiful it’s set in a lovely location in a nice street. It has plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel.
There is nothing we didn’t like it was a perfect stay.
The property was lovely, the rooms were good and the location excellent
The waiters weren’t the best, dropped something from a sharing board and didn’t replace it. Also quality of food wasn’t great
Very good location to explore Cotswolds, easy to get to/ from many of the typical villages and areas; reasonable local dinner options; room size was good.
No air conditioning, and placed in what was close to, if not the, highest (and hottest) rooms in the structure with only one fan and an open window to try to cool off enough to sleep. Room stayed above 30C until after 9pm. granting the simplistic idea of about not being able to control the weather (got it) -- expect hotel staff to know their property and guide guests accordingly e.g. a lower floor, or whatever. Oh, we did get an email about hotel being hot, and being allotted one fan (extremely clear on "only one!")... AFTER our "free cancellation" period had lapsed -- ok, they keep the $$ regardless, useful note? for whom?. Many of the front line staff on site were very friendly, very courteous, and very helpful.
Echt authentiek Cotswolds , mooi kader
Geen zwembad of iets in die aard
Stuff so friendly
Little issues like breakfast arriving without milk and salt/pepper; inability/unwillingness to fillet a fish that was served on the bone.
Location
Steep stairs
I found the music in the bar and restaurant areas quite loud and intrusive for a quiet, good quality hotel, and music from the bar, which was empty, disturbed us in our bedroom until quite late
We enter here for my partner's birthday. Surroundings very nice apart from a 3 inch diameter big black spider on the wall. Skipped starters and had fish and chips and a fish pie. Asked for vinegar twice which eventually came when there was only 1,/8 of the neal left very poor service dessert nothing like expected so won't be wasting b time and money going again
A hotel seeped in history, but all amenities are 2026. Excellent location, delightful gardens, food exceptional. Good, free parking. We stayed in the ‘Oak room’ – bedroom plus separate lounge room. Really perfect - & bathroom equally good. BUT, sadly our stay was let down by ‘housekeeping issues’ given the price point: - On arrival, both a dead bee/insect & tortilla crisp on carpet by curtain in lounge room. I removed the crisp, but the bee/insect remained there for our 4 nights stay. - Only 5 hangers in wardrobe (hooks there, but no hangers) - No hairdryer & had to ask for one twice before we got one - Room not serviced/ cleaned on Day 2. When we returned from our day out, housekeeping had finished for the day. (Receptionist did her best to remedy, but …) Wish I could give 5 stars, as the Reception staff in particular were really hard working & we had a lovely stay. Just housekeeping needs addressing.
Oak room is excellent
Beautiful setting, we spent our wedding night in bridal suite. Wish we had more time to enjoy it!
We have rebooked for September.
Some people were smoking in the garden which is probably a little disrespectful to guests who are dining.
Wonderful service, Anya at the front desk was very helpful with parking and helping us get settled in.
Amazing historical building, impressive rooms, great restaurant and amazing location. Plenty of parking spaces available.
Lovely hotel staff were amazing nothing to much trouble would highly recommend this hotel
Nothing
Good hotel position in Burbury
Room & bathroom need up dating, more seating in the garden area, we stayed at your other hotel, The close in Tetbury a much better standard hotel, thought this would be similar. Disappointed.
Everything was amazing
Staff service quite slow and issue with billing which did get resolved
le cadre de la vieille auberge, fort bien rénovée, beaucoup de charme, calme, personnel très gentil .
Great location
Loved some of the crazy staff
Relaxed atmosphere
Meal and hotel a little overpriced

It’s a little bit tired which you’d expect but does affect value for money.

Location
Little tired in places and breakfast not the best organised.
Breakfast fantastic - grest produce and staff

Characterful, convenient with excellent staff.

Location is fantastic Staff very friendly
The breakfast was very varied and plentiful. Also I had requested 2 twin rooms and the rooms were offered as doubles but the very attentive staff were able to organise 1 room to become a twin rather than double so that worked for my group of four.
Only slight niggle was that both my main and pudding choices for dinner were not available but I’m guessing they were just very popular choices!
Odalar, konum ve temizlik çok iyiydi.
3 ya da 4 kişilik aileler için iki oda almak durumunda kaldık.
Stayed for just one night for my husbands 50th birthday and our wedding anniversary. Check in staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Booked us a taxi to the Farmers Dog which we had booked for dinner. The room was beautifully decorated and they had tried to help us keep it as cool as possible in the heatwave with a fan and blinds down. The molton brown products were a nice luxurious touch. Comfy beds and a lovely quiet location. Breakfast was delicious and again friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
The location, rooms, and gardens are perfect!
Would have liked more lounge style chairs for the garden areas
Really nice location and lovely building. Staff very helpful.
The design of the rooms, the courtyard and the dining room are stunning. The breakfast is excellent, as is the service.
We booked 3 rooms and were given 2 in a nearby building and one in the main building. My wife's mother and my mother (80 years old) were far from us, which was very inconvenient for us, especially since they have difficulty with all kinds of basic things + telephone communication. You also need to take into account that there are narrow stairs and no elevator. It's an old building for preservation, so that's how it is, but for those who don't like it, take that into account.
Great location, great people and service, wonderful food, comfy rooms and beds - perfect in every way.
The location, the standard of the rooms and the general atmosphere.
The food in the restaurant on the evening we ate in was not up to standard. The team were very apologetic and reduced the bill which was appreciated. Breakfasts were excellent.
Staff were welcoming, excellent breakfast. Great location and car parking . Ethan was brilliant as were the breakfast staff .
Fire escape route was through bedroom!! Stayed three nights and the room was serviced but not hoovered. The restaurant seemed short staffed the night we dined there but the staff especially Ethan were fantastic. One evening the bar shut at 10.00 pm which to me is ridiculous in a hotel.
Lovely quaint
Nothing really
Location, Parking available
Lots of stairs, no disabled access in main house. Breakfast was ok but not as good as other stays
The room was in the courtyard of the hotel the bed was very big and so comfortable The breakfast was delicious The staff very friendly The hotel was just off the main high street so was very quiet but just a short stroll to be in the centre of it all
Great location, very friendly helpful staff
The rooms were so hot!
We stayed for five nights at the Baytree in Burford and very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely village. The breakfasts are amazing and the staff are all extremely friendly - special shout out to Drew who went above and beyond - and the parking at the side of the hotel is a real bonus. The reason I have not given it a better score is because over those five days our bathroom was not cleaned once. Our towels were replaced but the bathroom certainly was not cleaned. On our second morning, when we went to breakfast at 8am, we requested that housekeeping not clean our room that day (stressing this request was only for that one day as we were attending a wedding) and asked that cleaning be resumed on the Sunday. However, while Housekeeping came in daily attending to our bedroom the bathroom remained untouched. When I asked reception about this on our departure I was told that we had to “request a bathroom clean if we wanted it cleaned”. I found this highly unusual and definitely got the feeling that this wasn't correct! Someone slipped up and the correct message clearly wasn’t given to housekeeping resulting in it most definitely affecting our stay - and the fact it wasn't addressed correctly when I asked means we'd probably not stay here again.
We stayed here for a couple of nights over the bank holiday. We had a really nice stay. The breakfast was awesome. All the staff were ever so nice and couldn’t be more helpful and were all so good with our little dog Rosie. Would definitely stay here again. The hotel is also in a great location.
Lovely room, great location, beautiful gardens, safe parking.
Suggestivo
Breakfast very good, restaurant OK location perfect
Our dinner main courses were very poor. Over cooked not presented well and all courses served too quickly. We were out of the dining room in 50mins. The restaurant says that it offers fine dining but our experience was anything but "fine "
Superb breakfast and stunning location.
10% more expensive than expected.
Great staff, great food and great location. Very pleasant experience
Some minor maintenance issues
The location was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection great.
Lack of shower hat in the bathroom.
This is a beautiful historic hotel, perfect for a special occasion. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and tastefully furnished, with a large comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. We had a very peaceful night’s sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. Really enjoyed our special night at the Bay Tree.
The room was clean and comfortable Good parking on site
Lovely hotel superb room. Staff great. Perfect location.
