Reviewed Sep 15, 2026The room was very clean and the kitchen and bathroom were well kept and very clean. The bed had a lovely warm duvet and so was very warm and comfortable. This was a pretty typical motel - not what I would describe as High End but neither was the price high end. It was more than adequate for the one night we needed when passing through the Mount Maunganui overnight.
It took a little while to work out how to get the bedside lights working but it turned out they weren't plugged in properly. There was nothing else that was not met really - maybe 2 Robert Harris coffee sachets would be better for a couple - in our case only one of us drank coffee so it didn't matter and the special coffee sachet was a nice treat - just 1 each would have been better if a couple both wanted to drink coffee

Alot of foot traffic from neighbours who weren't exactly quiet when leaving or returning. Also had trouble with hdmi cord fro the sky decoder. It was very loose. Might need a new one.

Room was dirty on arrival - they came and re done the floors but still not great, we did have early check in which was appreciated but it was not exactly ready for us as far as cleaniness. Pretty run down. Rooms are not all the same some have heating and some don't - Main bedroom was freezing and upstairs bedroom was like a sauna. Beds are terribly uncomfortable everyone in the group had sore backs and there is not enough hot water as all rooms share a small water tank, we were with a large group and we all experienced cold showers daily.

It was quite cold and when we went out we had to take the key with us to lock the door which meant the power turned off so we had to come back to a freezing cold room at night. Would have been good to have a power key and a door key to come home to a warm room at 10.30pm. Lots of condensation on windows.

The shower head couldn't come straight out as the bar was too long. So, it had to be pointed at a corner of the shower. The toilet didn't have enough flushing power, and only one of the buttons worked. The least of all the tv remote for the tv in the bedroom didn't work. I don't know anything about the one in the main room, as I didn't check it.
