Sunset dinner at firepit on deck off of dining room was wonderful

Très bons petit-déjeuner et souper au restaurant l’Espadon. Présence de fruits locaux ( fraises et framboises) très frais.

L’emplacement de notre chambre située dans un pavillon à l’extrémité du complexe, très loin du restaurant. Chambre donnant sur la route, très correcte pour un passage rapide vers la Gaspésie, mais environnement un peu décevant pour quelqu’un qui voudrait y passer quelques jours. Mieux vaut alors demander spécifiquement chambre avec vue. Dans notre cas la réservation a été faite 2 heures avant l’arrivée, ce qui limite les choix.

Our second stay at this lovely location. From the beautiful views, walkability, food and beautiful comfortable room ... a great stay. A morning walk along the St Lawrence got us close to a bald eagle, blue heron and ducks.

One or more non-meat menu options would be great on the bar menu.

Bel endroit à découvrir. Patio extérieur vraiment bien équipé avec une vue spectaculaire sur le fleuve. Je vous recommande lors de votre réservation de prendre une chambre dans le pavillon principal avec vue sur le fleuve, cela vous permettra de profiter de toute les installations de l’hôtel sans avoir à passer à l’extérieur surtout si vous y allez en saison plus froide.

The comforter was too heavy.

The view of the St. Lawrence River on a lovely patio with fire tables that you can sit and enjoy was the highlight for us.

The rooms are motel style which I don’t love however the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable

Sehr gute Lage zur Fähre, mit tollem Wasserblick vom Balkon. Schwimmbad ist eher groß und das Bistro mit Bar toll auf dem Balkon mit Blick auf den Fluss. Die Rezeption nahm leider keine Rücksicht auf unsere eingeschränkten französisch-Kenntnisse. Das Frühstück ist ausgesprochen umfangreich und lecker und 27,50$ wert.

Der Empfang durch einen jungen Mann der Rezeption, der nicht englisch sprechen wollte.

Papier toilette qui se réchire dans la longueur et trop fin. Ce serait plus économique d'avoir une meilleure qualité qui serait moins consommée inutilement.

À chacun de mes passages à Rivière-du-Loup, je m'arrête à l'auberge de la pointe pour la vue et pour l'exellent restaurant l'Espadon. Ne manquez pas de réserver une chambre avec vue sur le fleuve ou profitez de la terrasse avec vue.

Les salles de bain sont exiguës.

Terrasse arrière avec vue sur le fleuve. Petit bar juste derrière. Salle d'entraînement près de la piscine avec spa et sona. On peut aller à pieds jusqu'à la rive du fleuve.

Dans la chambre, l'appareil refroidisseur faisait un peu de bruit.

La propreté, le lit confortable, la grande chambre rénovée et moderne. La piscine intérieure et le jacuzzi sont grands et très propre. Le personnel accueillant et souriant. L'emplacement.

We loved the amenities and the outdoor dining area and overview. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Our room was on the ground floor of an older 2 story building on the property. The sound of footsteps and noise from the people in the room above was very disturbing as they stayed up late and were up at 4 am.

Very average stay. Bed was comfortable.

Poor table availability in a confusing restaurant. Chargeable and expensive breakfast. Overblown for a one night stay.

Pas de service de chambre quotidien et lorsqu'il y en a, mal équipé. Le lavabo qui s'écoule mal. Après 3 jours j'ai pris moi-même des serviettes dans un panier sur la galerie. La femme de chambre que j'ai croisé, disait qu'elle venait d'un autre emplacement et blâmait les personnes de couleurs y travaillant. Elle leur manquait de respect en les appelant "nègre". Je n'apprécie pas les personnes racistes.

Tout est formidable, l'hôtel est magnifiquement bien situé en hauteur avec de splendides vues sur le fleuve et sur les couchers de soleil. Les aménagements extérieurs sont magnifiques, avec des terrasses et foyers extérieurs design. La chambre est spacieuse et de grand confort, avec tous les équipements nécessaires, dont un mini frigo et une cafetière Nespresso. Nous y retournerons certainement!

Very large complex. The standard rooms are in motel type buildings but are very beautifully renovated, clean, and very nice. The bistro, bar and pool have beautiful views over the river. There is a hotel type building as well, where the rooms have balconies that overlook the water. The staff are lovely. There were 4 EV chargers but all were in use. Fortunately there are fast chargers nearby.

There are 2 restaurants. The bistro has upscale pub food which was a bit expensive. You’re paying for the view. Note to get there from the motel rooms you will be walking outside.

We really needed a place to stop and decompress for a couple of days, and booking a room at the Auberge de la Pointe turned out to be a great choice. The standout feature is definitely the location. Sitting out on the terrace in the evening with a drink, watching the sunset right over the St. Lawrence River, was hard to beat. It instantly made us feel like we were properly on vacation.  The staff were welcoming and professional at check-in, and our room was quiet, comfortable, and very clean. We spent a bit of time unwinding by the indoor pool area, which was nice to have, though we mostly just enjoyed the peaceful vibe of the property. 

There was nothing I didn’t enjoy.

Beautiful location. Loved the walking trail by the water, the outdoor fireplaces, the hotel is beautiful. Room was clean and comfy.

Everything was great! The rooms were well designed and recently renovated. The beds were comfortable. The pool, sauna and hot tub were great and the stunning view of the st. Lawrence from the outdoor deck was a pleasant surprise.

We were in a separate building from the pool, so we had to walk outside to get to the pool, but it wasn't too far.

The location was great for walking along the seaway and exploring the town, including the flowers, friendly people, and stunning waterfalls.

We didn't know when we booked that our room was on the 2nd floor in the old building with exterior stairs versus the new gorgeous building. That was disappointing, but the reception staff were really helpful in moving us downstairs, and it was convenient for unloading and loading the car. The rooms in the older building have been completely renovated, and we were happy with new decor.

Le manger etait ordinaire au Bistro

Stunning views of the river and mountains from the back balconies and the Matador bar. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The room was exceptionally clean and well appointed; the beds are comfortable and inviting. I would recommend this hotel as an excellent spot to linger for a couple or more days in RdL. A very pretty town, well worth the visit and or stop over.

Les enfants ont beaucoup apprécié la piscine. Lits confortables. La vue de la terrasse du bar est super belle.

Nous étions dans un pavillon où les chambres étaient vieillottes. Au restaurant, les employés étaient super gentils, mais ils n'étaient pas particulièrement professionnels avec les allergies mentionnées. Ils ne connaissaient pas bien les ingrédients des plats et on a éviter la catastrophe de justesse.

Staff very helpful and courteous. Beautiful, quiet surroundings, close to St Lawrence. Rooms modern, clean, very comfortable beds. Reception area very tastefully decorated and welcoming. Appreciated the secure storage unit for our bikes. Appreciated a later checkout time.

I think we have gotten use to staying in hotels that include a complimentary breakfast, so we missed that!

Lovely property, best views for sunsets! Terrace restaurant and lounge area very welcoming, staff were available and friendly. Pool and hot tub was also very good. Front desk staff were also friendly and professional and willing to help out.

The room was lovely with great linens. It was close to the ferry we needed to get to the next morning. Staff were really helpful. It was close to good restaurants. The price was excellent for the accommodations we got

Il bagno era molto sacrificato: una scelta progettuale incomprensibile per una struttura modernissima e, per altri aspetti, molto funzionale.

De toute beauté sur la terrasse voir le fleuve avec feu de foyer ,la piscine , possibilité de siroter notre drinks,casse croûte approximité,les chambres propres et confortables! Idéale avec des enfants .

Au bistro il devrait y avoir un menu conçu spécialement pour les enfants .!

Did not stay overnight… experience occurred August 15, 2026 Advertises online as a peaceful resort, showing online pictures of lovely interior and exterior spaces. Do not fall for their bait & switch tactics. We were sent to a crappy motel room in a separate building on the property. Old, rundown building with exterior room access, no view, lumpy beds, sink in outer bedroom, and musty stale air triggering an immediate asthmatic reaction. Yuck! We set up a portable air purifier and escaped the room to enjoy the resort amenities. We were directed to an exterior patio by front desk staff and invited to enjoy fire tables and a view. On patio, staff were banging around, clearly setting up for some event. No chairs around fire tables. When I said I needed fresh air because of asthma & poor air quality in the room, owner (not yet identifying himself as such) brusquely informed us that the patio would be closed at 3pm to guests as there would be a wedding reception. Snapped at us to use “other patio”. Other patio was an extension of first one with bistro tables outside of a closed restaurant. No view, not even a snack or drink available, and very uncomfortable… then someone started smoking! Stopped by same man as I walked to front desk to request a different room. He said no other rooms were available but he would check and that he was the owner. Said that maybe I should leave, that he’d reverse the charges. We spoke privately and decided to take him up on the offer. Searched for him, were directed to lobby and while we waited to speak to him, we were told he’d entered our assigned/occupied room without notification, permission, or our presence. We later noticed that an old window was partially open. When I requested the proffered refund/reversal of charges, he became verbally abusive. I told him that it was a shame because we’d been looking forward to a lovely resort room as shown online, not what we’d been given and that I hadn’t seen a motel room like that in over 40 years of extensive travel. He justified the state of the room by pointing out that we’d only booked directly online the prior day. He had a very public temper tantrum, yelling and demanding I get out of his hotel (despite my stated intention to leave), he refused me any paperwork for the credit card reversal, and yelled that I’d insulted him by calling it a crappy motel room… exactly what it is! He chased us to the room and to our vehicle, continuing to scream at us, gesticulating wildly, threatening to call police (no cause to), telling us to enjoy sleeping in our car (we thoroughly enjoyed a stay at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City that evening). We do not recommend a stay at this place! It is not a relaxing resort or room, it is a weathered old motel and room with apparently no updated HVAC or other expected amenities. We found the owner to be abusive, arrogant, uncommunicative, and unprofessional. He was not concerned with his guest’s concerns, health, or experience. We have never had an experience like this in our 63 years!
