The bath in the room and glass wall for shower, I'd prefer more privacy but I know some people love the concept.

The place is lovely and very quiet, also very intimate so you not around a lot of people due to the size. The pool was also great plus the self-service bar is a cool concept, we loved that. The host was also very friendly and very helpful. Overall our stay was enjoyable.
The breakfast had limited options, so that could have been better.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The location was great as we were doing things around Sandton and Bryanston. We got uber eats delivered and could easily get around using taxis and Ubers. The room was huge and very nicely decorated. They put in an extra bed for our second child, and it was a great space for our family. The electric blanket in the main bed was a lifesaver as we were there in the winter and it was very cold. Breakfast was Lovely and the staff went out of their way to help where they could.
Unfortunately the windows were only single glazed and had a serious draft coming through. In addition the main entrance door was a slide door that didn’t have a great seal, and the room from the entrance to the bedroom was a simple interior door. Also, huge drafts from the shower and windows in the bathroom. So between the windows, the bathroom and the front door, it all made the room in the winter was really cold! The one extra oil heater did very little to help with the temperature. Getting up for the loo, and out of bed in the morning was not fun. Whilst they gave us some extra blankets, it just wasn’t quite enough, as only the main bed had the electric blanket, so we had to go out and buy heating teddies for the kids and put them in jumpers and socks. I’d love to stay in the summer instead as I am sure it would be miles more comfortable! We got a bit confused by the kitchen set-up. It had a full oven, fridge microwave situation with knives and wooden spoons, but when we came back with food for the kids to cook, there were no pots and pans and we were told it was not a self catering unit. They were kind enough to find stuff the next day, but I think either have all the stuff, or get rid of it… don’t just have items you can’t use.

Reviewed Dec 14, 2025The place is so relaxing and calming. We came for 4 nights after a Safari in the Kruger and was made to feel at home from the start. The compound was very safe, and the staff were very friendly. We got to know some of them quite well. We frequented the spa and the ladies thay worked there were so nice, offering us recommendations for meals. Talking of the spa, we had our fair share of treatments, and each time we wanted to come back for more. We would recommending using Uber to get around the city as that seems to be the safest option, and would recommend a meal at 'And then there was fire' which is an experience in itself. If (when) we come back to J'berg, we will be stopping at the Wesley again.
