The location and apartments were amazing!
Na
Nothing about the facilities which were dated, overpriced and unclean. I cannot overstate how disappointed we were. The website gallery certainly does not reflect the resort reality. The resort receptionist, Lolita, did all she could to help us. The resort manager did not engage with us or support Lolita and I felt he let it fall to Lolita to resolve the issue with us. We were offered an alternative apartment which was equally unsatisfactory.
First apartment was filthy. Microwave, stove top and kitchen sink were dirty. Shower screen seal broken. Brown soap scum along bath. Garden furniture in front room as seating. Second apartment had a used sanitary towel at front door step.
Everything.. would happily return again
The Guinness
Small kitchen well equipped, very clean, close to amenities, including pool and sauna. We will return and would recommend the resort to family and friends
Smoke alarm too close in kitchen area
Location incredible so much to do in the area. Lots going on at resort and yet not too crowded at the same time. Aparthotel mostly well stocked and comfortable.
Room could have had lotion and conditioner. It wouldn't stop me staying there again but doors slammed if you didn't mind them which was tricky for noise for us and neighbours.
Very friendly helpful staff, made the difference between a good holiday and an exceptional one.
I loved it all.
Very clean, beds very comfortable. Lots of space, large bedrooms.
Charged for electricity at 8 Euros a day on top of what was quite a high rate. Not even a sheet of loo paper, how much would it cost to put in at least one roll for arrival. Would have been nice to have a small welcome tray of tea, coffee, milk etc. Not a thing. Also not even T towels supplied and although advertised, at that rate I would have expected towels. Fridge was missing door racks for milk etc. Tumble drier did not work on the washing machine. Tablet slot for dishwasher tablet was broken.
Almost everything
Sofa bed not the most comfortable
The little house was very cute. Bed and pillows was comfortable. Super clean. The front desk lady was remarkably helpful and kind. The location is beautiful.
No smart TV. We couldn’t watch Netflix, Prime, etc. It will be nice if the kitchen is more equipped with the basics, like some dish soap for a few days. Its not worth it to buy a whole jar only to use a little bit. Same with paper towel.
Very clean neat tidy n warm
Needed towels daily
Wonderful view and great staff
Rooms are lovely and had a sea view. We were very happy with them, comfortable beds, lovely modern rooms. Catered for all needs of a family. Spacious walk-in wardrobe very handy for a family too! Kitchen was small but suited the room! Spent time in pool and played tennis which was all on sight. We were very happy with our stay.
No breakfast, rest of hotel needs attention but bedrooms were super!
Lovely resort. House was newly done up and really nicely decorated. Very clean and comfortable. Pool was great and kids loved it. Fab location beside the sea. Food in the bar was lovely small menu which changes daily and really big portions and reasonabley priced.
Nothing
Location, set up and facilities including the pool
Beds were uncomfortable and too far to walk from the centre of Dungarvin so you need to reply on the car
We stayed in Lodge 55. It's not the cleanest , and the kitchen furniture is so old and worn out. There are no bulbs on some of the bedside lamps. There was no washing up liquid for dishes, and only 2 little soaps for 9 people to use . I know it's self-catering, but still....
Fantastic facility in a great location. Golf on door step .
Nothing
Stayed in one bed apartment which was very modern and clean.
Very nice modern apartment with an absolutely amazing view just a few steps from the door
The whole experience and particularly the staff are exceptional.
The swimming pool, the location by the sea and access to the greenway
Location, convenience, size, comfort and the beds were very comfy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Not enough comfortable seating for the size of cottage. One sofa was not enough. It would be nice to have basics such as dish washer tablet for each day of stay, washing up liquid and a tea towel.
Beautiful location. Very well maintained. Apartment was spacious very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had a great selection of cooking equipment and utensils. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Kids loved the tennis court and playground. Perfect family resort.
Great quiet location, with a harbour within walking distance, play park on site and sandy beach a 5 min drive away. Views are fabulous. You can drive into Dungarvan in 10 mins and Waterford in 30 mins. I would recommend Mahon Falls and Ardmore Cliffwalk for a visit.
I would have preferred longer swimming hours, kids couldn't be in the pool after 7pm, which was a shame as after a day out that would have been lovely. Also the gym is more of a fitness suite.
Location was perfect. Gold Coast staff were extremely helpful very friendly and lodges were perfect for our large family get together. We cant wait to return next year.
There was nothing to dislike even the weather was perfect
Location, accommodation, facilities, an excellent place for big families
Nothing
We had a fantastic family holiday in the Gold Coast Resort. The apartment was modern and clean with everything we could have needed. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. The children already want to book for next year.
really nice aparthotel and recently refurbed. Nice quiet location on the coast. Food was excellent in the bar and the only blemish is a lack of any breakfast options
Very spacious, lovely area. Perfect for a big group 👌🏼
Missing a few basics, like towels, dishwasher tabs, tea towels etc. Wasn’t aware that the water had to be heated for the showers.
Lovely place
Amazing location
We had a self catering cottage which was more than adequately equipped for all of our needs
Nothing
Receptionist not only booked us a taxi but picked a nice restaurant and booked that for us too. Cottage had just been renovated. 4 of us stayed and had plenty of room. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset in the evening.
Maybe menu could have a few more offerings.
Great for families especially if the weather is on your side located right beside the water and beside the pier great fun for all
Absolutely brilliant great value for money and can't wait till I return
Excellent pool in the leisure centre with steam room, sauna and jacuzzi all in good working order which is not often the case at small complexes. Staff were conscientious and responsive, with inflatables such as arm bands available for children. Nice coastal setting with area for sea dipping right across the road. Tennis court with rackets/balls was a bonus, good playground and a nice golf club bar and coffee shop on site. Very enjoyable stay.
Out house was a bit tired having not been renovated in some years, but this was made up for by its space, cleanliness and practicality.
Kids had a ball. Hotel was fabulous loads for them to do we loved it would definitely recommend
Nothing
Spotlessly clean
Beds a little uncomfortable And an upgrade on the kitchen utensils are needed
Great location & facilities. Room was big and newly refurbished. Staff very friendly
Excellent all round and all the other staff were great but the old manager lad up at the bar let the place down
Close to Dungarvan
Every
The decor and style. Plenty of room. The bunker bar staff are exceptional. Food and drinks are top notch
Leaving
Spacious and comfortable. Quiet location.
Limited services in walking distance.
We stay in the houses and have been coming back to the Gold Coast for about 9 years now; we love it! The only thing I can think of that would improve this place is a shop (nearest is an hours walk). Other then that, it is a wonderful place to get away to. See you next year please God♡
No shop
Nice clean and comfortable lovely location food was good.
Nothing all was good
Newly refurbished rooms. Very friendly service
Quite expensive and other areas of the hotel could also be refurbished
Great location with really spacious houses. Appliances a bit dated but we didnt need to use hob/cooker. Pool was lovely and great playground
Anazing staff really made us feel welcome xxx
Nothing
We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartments. Everything in the room looked brand new and the room was very clean. We had a great view too. And it was great value
Can't fault it
Great for kids with park and pool on the grounds.
The house itself we stayed in was grubby, curtains hanging off railings. Stains on furniture. We had to phone 4 times for basic items missing in the kitchen like frying pan, spatula. There were also 4 of each sets of cutlery and plates for house which was accomoting 10 of us. Maintenance man was unfriendly when he came to look at washer/dryer. Grunted at us really. Food in restaurant was nice but very overpriced for what it was.
Beautiful resort and
Staff all very friendly and helpful. micheal in the bar / restaurant was a very genial host interacting in a very friendly manner with all of our group
The accommodation was fantastic everything you need was there. It was immaculately clean with a fab balcony with outdoor dining furniture as well as other outdoor seating.
No seating or beds to sit and relax by the pool.
I loved the location. Dungarvan is a beautiful town. I would return in a heartbeat. I did like that there was a playground on the grounds. It made the evenings easier as my kids could play for a bit before bed.
Oh gosh... I am not against staying in run-down, crappy, 70s cottages. In fact, we've booked those types of houses before when we wanted something cheap and cheerful; however, I've never paid anywhere close to €900 to stay in such a dump. The house was terrible. There were stains on the furniture and carpets. The kitchen and appliances were so old, but everything worked, albeit a little slowly. There were water stains on the wall from a leak in the upstairs shower. The windows were single-pane, and the one in our bedroom didn't close. They were also filthy. If you check the website, there are loads of photos of the apartments, which do look beautiful. There aren't many of the houses, so you'd be forgiven for believing they would be of the same standard, but the couldn't have been more different. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. Honestly, avoid the self catering houses. Just horrible and scandalous money for the quality. You won't see photos of the gym, and for good reason. The gym was pathetic. It didn't open until 9am, which was very frustrating, but the machines were ridiculously old. My kids enjoyed the pool and the steam room did look nice, but seriously, the gym was a joke.
Went there with my girlfriend and 2 kids for 2 nights hotel is really nice and clean rooms are very clean and everything looks new and good quality. was a good plus to have smart tvs in bedroom and in the living room. food was really nice and and price is average but loved their chicken wings. Staff was very nice and helpfull i will definately go again.
the swimming pool was great and nice and quiet location
food in the bar wasnt great
a newly renovated room, we were told that we are the first users, brand new equipment and furniture
the room was not completely clean, stains in the shower from the renovation as well as dust and dead flies in the corners; it wasn't clear from the description that the room is furnished for somebody in a wheelchair: the bathroom was equipped respectively i.e. a very small and low hanging washbasin, a very low hanging mirror in the bathroom. This was not per se negative for us but wasn't clear from the description on booking.com
