Catherine's Place by the sea

Catherine was a very welcoming n lovely lady. Helpful with where to go etc. The Irish breakfast was spot on. Room immaculate clean n tidy. Bed very comfortable n we both had a great sleep. Sea views n a 5 minute walk to the seaside resturants n bars. We will always have fond memories n will defo go back. Thanks a million Catherine for your thousand welcomes.☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

This is our second visit to Catherine's lovely home. We stayed in the family room. From the warm welcome to the really comfortable beds, the spotlessly clean accommodation has everything we could possibly want. The separate dressing and work area is a real bonus, as is the communal area with microwave and kettle, where you can sit at a table outside the bedroom. Thank you Catherine. We'll definitely be back!

Great size room with dressing room and great ensuite. Loved the separate seating area by the tea & coffee, great for me as up and about earlier than others. Great location to get to the beach front and cycle path

Catherine is a Very welcoming host. Rooms were very nicely decorated, roomy, and airy. Parking no problem and beds were very comfortable. Anything needed was there for a restful stay.

A beautiful spacious room with a large bathroom. It was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Walking distance to the beach and pub. Our travel schedule had us arriving after 6pm and on the road first thing the next morning so we did not get to enjoy the town which looked like fun and only a short drive. Catherine was super friendly and helpful. Would recommend this property and would return if in the area again.

Our GPS once again stopped a little short of the actual location so we had a couple of visits/look arounds at the neighbours. Perhaps a small sign at the road versus on the actual house behind the hedges would be helpful. Regardless of that, we would highly recommend considering this location

Catherine is a brilliant woman and an absolute pleasure to stay with. She kindly upgraded our room, which was such a thoughtful touch and really made our stay feel extra special. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely at home. She’s warm, welcoming, and genuinely cares about her guests. You can tell how much she adores her sons, and that same kindness carries through in everything she does. She also gave us great recommendations for places to eat, drink, and visit, which really helped us make the most of our trip. The room itself was extremely clean and so comfortable, we slept great. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water, which made a big difference after a long day. Everything felt easy, relaxed, and homely. If you’re looking for a place with real heart and a host who goes above and beyond, Catherine is exactly that. Would happily stay again.

I had the most amazing stay at Catherine’s House by the Sea in Dungarvan. The place was absolutely spotless — you can tell so much care goes into keeping everything clean and comfortable. The rooms were cozy and welcoming, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, I slept better here than I do at home. What really made the experience, though, was Catherine herself. She truly goes above and beyond for her guests. She kindly dropped us into town, picked us back up after our night out, and even took the time to show us some lovely local spots. She is such a genuine and thoughtful host. To top it all off, she left us fresh bread for toast in the morning even though we hadn’t paid for breakfast — such a kind gesture that didn’t go unnoticed. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. I’ll 100% be staying here every time I come back to Dungarvan — better than any 5-star hotel!

A lovely, clean, and cosy room in an ideal spot! The bed was very comfortable and the host was incredibly welcoming. It’s perfectly located for both the beach and Dungarvan town, with the added bonus of ample parking. Highly recommended!

About 11km outside Dungarvan, Catherine's Place by The Sea was perfect for my 3 day stay. The apartment was self contained with its own en suite and Catherine had left some special touches like home made bread and snacks as I was arriving late for which I was very grateful!

This property is amazing .. the host is incredibly helpful and lives at the property but the “appartement” is totally self contained. The en suite rooms are sparking clean .. the beds are exceptionally comfortable… there is a sitting room with a kettle fridge and microwave and dining table … perfect for a relaxing stay .. the situation of the property is ideal for a stay in Dunvegan .. with a car of course

L'accueil par Catherine! Malgré une réservation tardive (1h avant) un accueil chaleureux et bienveillant! Très agréable pour moi qui voyage seul avec mes 2 enfants!! Et malgré le fait que Catherine ne fasse le petit déjeuner, elle nous indiquer un endroit très bien en centre ville! Petit déjeuner pas donné, mais copieux!! On en a pour son argent!!

Self-entry, very clean rooms, no mold or dirt as if no one had ever lived in the room before us. Very cozy. Clean towels, hangers, wi-fi and TV. Very pleasant, kind and polite hostess. We only stayed one night. But we didn't want to leave. It's very quiet around here. Coffee, tea, sugar, milk - available at all times. We loved everything about the place

The owner was very helpful when we arrived with our tired 4 year old and provided a basket of small toys which was really helpful and made me a needed cup of tea.

Went family of 3 place was lean. Hard to find no sign indicating where it was. One of the beds didn't have a sheet on it. We were told just getting room ready. Used blankets that were in room to place on bed as sheets. My husband had hot water when he took a shower in am me and my son did not. The owner was not even home to complain to.

Nice, well furnished house. The bed was comfortable and room spotless clean.

Location was difficult to locate as there are no signs anywhere on the property. The room was very cold, we had to wear our coats before going to bed. We were told that the heating had to be bled, but at this price range, back up heating should have been provided, such as an electric heater. Shower was OK but no shower gel or shampoo provided. The entrance wasn't private, located at the side of the house which entered in to a small room with tea and coffee making facilities. There was a very small amount of water and milk provided in jugs in the fridge, nowhere near enough for all the guests, rather sparse, in fact as there was none left when we were leaving in the morning. At that stage we just wanted to get in our car, get warm and leave. We can't recommend this location because of the cold room and the sparse facilities. Sorry but overpriced and a case of style over substance.

Really lovely quiet location and only a 10 min drive into Dungarvin. The host Catherine was so good she gave us loads of tips and advice on places to visit and things to do. The room we stayed in was gorgeous. Plenty of space and the bed was so comfy! Couldn’t recommend enough
