Elegant , beautiful property with fabulous views over the Bay. The Hotels greatest asset is their staff , always available to assist .

The disabled entrance of the property was difficult as it did not include the high kerb outside the entrance and I could not step over the kerb without assistance.

A peaceful Hotel away from the Town. Well kept property with outside bar & views of the Bay. The Swimming pools were very clean & there was a Gym although I did not go in.

Das alte, herrliche Gebäude und die Lage unmittelbar am Meer; Meerblick; der Spaziergang in die Stadt am Klippenpfad. Man fühlt sich wie im 19. Jahrhundert. Innen- und Außenpools sind ganz nett, aber das Baden im Meer ist unvergleichlich besser.

Das Gebäude ist in die Jahre gekommen, wie viele alte britische Hotels. Schade, man könnte mehr daraus machen, wenn man es etwas geschmackvoller herrichten würde. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber kein Highlight.

The hotel has wonderful views out to sea. The hotel was very clean and had some good facilities, I particularly liked the heated outdoor pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially when Booking.com cancelled my taxi to the airport the day before I was due to leave!

The hotel is located outside the town (about a 20-25 minutes walk) which was fine for me but could catch some people out. However there is a bus goes to town and stops outside the hotel. There was no bath robes in the room which meant you had to change at the pool......again not a major issue but good to know

One thing for me..shower gel a bit high to reach by shower as I only have use of one arm . Shower gel could be mounted a bit lower for easy reach.

Leider eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung im Osborn Hotel. Unsere Zimmer lagen im Hinterhof und zudem mehr als einen Stock voneinander entfernt. Von einer schönen Aussicht konnte absolut keine Rede sein – die Aussicht war einfach nur grauenhaft und alles andere als angenehm. Besonders schlimm war eines der Badezimmer: Es gab dort lediglich eine Badewanne und das Wasser war extrem heiß. Man konnte sich nicht einmal richtig duschen, weil das Wasser gefühlt so heiß wie aus einem Wasserkocher kam. So etwas darf in einem Hotel einfach nicht passieren. Dazu kommt, dass der Lift nicht bis zu unserem Stockwerk ging. Mit den schweren Koffern mussten wir diese trotzdem noch über die Treppen schleppen. Nicht gerade das, was man sich von einem Hotelaufenthalt erwartet. Auch das Frühstück war eine Enttäuschung. Die Auswahl war wirklich mickrig, und von der Karte durfte man zudem nur ein einziges Gericht bestellen. Für den Preis hätten wir deutlich mehr erwartet. Insgesamt stimmt für uns das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis überhaupt nicht. Schlechte Aussicht, ein Badezimmer, in dem man nicht richtig duschen konnte, Koffer über die Treppen schleppen und ein enttäuschendes Frühstück. Wir würden dieses Hotel definitiv nicht nochmals buchen und können es leider auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Wedding was present, some of the wedding guests were talking and laughing very load outside till 5.45 in morning so didn’t get much sleep which was not very good practice for hotel

Pool, full of kids bombing into it, splashing and screaming. Appreciate screaming isnt breaking pool rules but bombing is and yet the life guard said nothing. At one point some kids over the course of out two day was sqiriting me and other guests with his water pistol. The whole reason of booking this hotel was bacause of pool and being able to relax but it turned out to be awful. Breakfast. No crossaint, no yogurt etc, none of it was getting replenished. Had to wait ages to be served and expected more for the price we paid.

Location was fabulous, bedroom was large, bathroom very average. Breakfast was great. The walk along the coastal path was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay

Great location overlooking the sea, ample parking, and the two pools were a bonus.I was with my daughter, husband and two grandchildren.The staff made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble, friendly in a professional way.

We kregen een oude kamer ergens helemaal achterin hotel, de ramen konden we niet openzetten want de ventilator van de afzuiging van de keuken kwam daar uit, dus geen frisse lucht en veel lawaai.

Loved the location. By the Sea, with beautiful views. I enjoyed the 15-20 min walk into Torquay. The Staff were excellent. All very helpful, friendly & professional. Really enjoyed the indoor & outdoor pool and that there was a tennis court available to use also.

Only constructive feedback would be that I found the menu quite limited. Not enough vegetables, or salads offered.

De ligging en het uitzicht zijn perfect. We hadden een kamer met zeezicht geboekt en dat was echt de moeite waard. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hadden een afternoon tea in de gazebo, in combinatie met de ligging en het uitzicht was dit perfect. Helaas konden we niet buiten zwemmen i.v.m. het weer, maar het zwembad zag er erg goed uit.

Het enige wat ons tegenviel was dat we niet langer konden blijven i.v.m. de road trip die we maakten.

Solo female traveller came to do winding paths marathon. I stayed for two night. Clean comfortable room with convenient parking just outside. Stunning surroundings and cheerful helpful reception. Plus I had a quick dip in the sea before checkout

I was staying purposefully for a marathon. I had to leave the hotel @ 5:30am. Too early for breakfast, unfortunately. Otherwise, even piece of toast would’ve been great.

Could have been better information generally, I was told there were lifts, but not that they didnt service the Mezzanine floor, where our room was. Our room was ok but depressingly blandI particularly booked for the indoor pool but wasnt aware that it was a fight of stai. rs up from the changing rooms, which mad it inaccessible for my husband, and the outdoor pool was basically a deep paddling pool. Was also disappointed about the distance from town, particularly up a very steep hill so we had to drive everywhere. My husband had fish and chips in the restaurant one night and the chips were very poor, I have had better oven chips

We honestly couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect wedding at The Osborne Hotel. From start to finish, everything was absolutely incredible and went above and beyond anything we could have imagined. 🤍 The venue itself is absolutely stunning and provided the most beautiful setting for our special day. The food was amazing — every course was delicious and beautifully presented, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. A special mention has to go to Haidee, who was absolutely incredible throughout. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and we always felt completely looked after. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and her help made such a huge difference to our day. All of the staff were fantastic — friendly, attentive and professional, and they helped create such a wonderful atmosphere throughout the whole day. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more, and we will always look back on our day at The Osborne Hotel with the happiest memories. Thank you to Haidee and the whole team for helping make our wedding so incredibly special. We couldn’t recommend you highly enough! ❤️✨

Such a fantastic location, everyone so friendly, all staff brilliant, had a super relaxing couple of days with the indoor pool and gym. The outdoor pool and bar and eating area, the beach was so welcoming, coffee, toilets changing rooms. Hired paddle boards from the hotel, the cost of all food and boards very reasonable and excellent price for such quality. Will be visiting again very soon.

Tolle Lage oberhalb des Strands mit schönem Ausblick auf das Meer. Schöner, grosszügiger Aussenpool. Altehrwürdiges Gebäude mit viel Charakter. Freundliches Personal. Stimmiges Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis.

Das Haus ist in die Jahre gekommen und wird mit beschränkten Mitteln am Leben erhalten. Beispiel: Durchgerostete Balkongeländer wurden durch Baugerüste ersetzt, was der Sicherheit zwar Genüge tut, aber das Auge schmerzt.

Stayed for four nights in a double room at the back of the hotel we were surprised how big the room was with loads of storage and there was a large fan which was good in the hot weather. When it advertises free toiletries all that was there was all in one body wash and shampoo, I would have expected Body wash, Shampoo, Conditioner and body lotion, also no hand wash just soap! This is a 4* star hotel. If I had known this I would have taken my own. We booked bed & breakfast which I suppose the breakfasts were ok, the staff at breakfast were friendly also we ate here for dinner on the first night before going out the dinner was nice. Hotel is in a nice position overlooking the sea and a small beach, it took us about 15 minutes to walk into Torquay up a steep hill and then down a hill.

Geen airco/ventilatie op de kamer en als het buiten 30 graden of hoger is, is dat het ook in de kamer. Het ontbijt is echt niet up to standard, heel beperkt en de warme gerechten zoals een english breakfast onder de maat.

The only thing that was needed more handrails on both side as you enter the hotel and before you go out of the bottom gate to the beach for people who are not as mobile.

The receptionist Tracey. Appeared fed up and not very welcome. All other staff were lovely. Also, top floor was very hot, due to weather and heat rising. Not the hotels fault. Would stay on a lower floor next time.

View from Hotel looking out to Sea is fantastic. Breakfast is a great choice to choose from and you can order whatever you wish from the cooked breakfast options. Continental breakfast Good. Room was at back of building which in the hot summer we are getting it was a lovely cool room.

Did have to ask for bottled water that had been missed when arrived in our room but a lovely waitress sorted the problem for us.

Great location, beautiful scenery with a tiny kid pool, next to the coast so beautiful ocean view. A little trek walking into town, but you get to see the beautiful streets of devon houses.

Room is quite old, tidy but not clean. Dirty heardboard, dirty carpet, low maintenance bathroom, basic/low quality facility .

Unmatched views, beautiful terrace for food and drinks. All staff in all areas of the hotel were very accommodating, nothing was too much for them. Outdoor pool with lots of sunbeds available, also a park, pool table plus and indoor pool so plenty for kids to do. Beach 2 mins walk. Lovely gardens. Beautiful sea view room.

The pillows were a bit skinny and hard so maybe bring your own pillows, other than that it’s brilliant.

This is our 2nd time at The Osborne Hotel. The outside was open and the weather was fantastic. We absolutely love staying here.

There were 2 older staff members that were a bit grumpy. But everyone else were amazing.

Hübsche, ruhige Lage mit wunderbarer Sicht auf das Meer

Das Treppenhaus und Gang vor den Zimmern stank fürchterlich chemisch, konnte auch nicht belüftet werden. Im Bad gab es außer einer Seifen-Shampoo-Mischung nicht einmal Kosmetiktücher, eine WC-Bürste oder andere Hilfsmittel, die man aus 4*-Hotels gewöhnt ist. Das Fenster (wir hatten nicht Strandseite gebucht, das war uns bewusst) ging nicht zu einem Garten, sondern in einen sehr hässlichen Innenhof mit diversen Abluftschächten. Unser Zimmerfenster hatte daher im unteren Bereich eine Milchglasfolie. Lüften ging schlecht, da in diesem Innenhof keine echte Luftbewegung war und so nur sehr bedingt „frische“ Luft durch die niedere Fensteröffnung des Schiebefensters reinkam. Da uns schon beim Check-in mitgeteilt wurde, dass das Haus voll belegt ist, haben wir uns den Versuch, ein anderes Zimmer zu bekommen, gespart. Beim sogenannten Continental Breakfast gab es weder Käse noch Wurst, die Auswahl war da insgesamt sehr bescheiden. Das warme zu bestellende Frühstück allerdings sehr ordentlich. Die Frühstückszeiten leider sehr kurz, nur am Wochenende etwas länger.

Location!! Also had a new renovated bathroom with a large shower and corner tub. Great view of the sea through a window. Room was spacious, lovely well maintained pool and gardens.

Wonderful location by beautiful little rocky beach with gorgeous views. Huge hotel with beautiful grounds, parking, tennis court, outdoor and indoor pools and outdoor table tennis, all of which we made use of during our brief stay. The room was pleasant with comfortable beds.

Our rooms were much too hot, even with the windows open. It was August and there had been a heatwave, but the temperature outside was cool during our stay, so we didn't understand why the rooms were so hot. We were too tired to ask and didn't think we would be moved as the hotel was full. The breakfast options were limited and we could only serve ourselves for basic cereal, very basic fruit and sliced white or brown bread. The cooked breakfast was served to us at our table, along with tea and coffee. There was no Marmite! This is a big omission in my opinion, but if we stay again (and we hope to) we'll bring our own. Also, we thought the evening meal prices were quite high, but the food was nice and the staff were very accommodating, especially since we are quite fussy customers. With reference to the question below, the hotel didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of the food, but it exceeded our expectations with the free use of so many facilities.

The hotel is beautiful and the location. Amazing view. It is a good size swimming pool and it's heated. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff in the restaurant, not welcoming and looked fed up , except James he was the only nice one there. Letting people wait and keep hanging around than to sit people first.

Were staying in the area and went into Reception to ask a couple of questions about their facilities we were told we would be able to use. Was totally ignored by both the Receptionists. One was killing time listening to a long winded waffle from a customer and in fact she kept on encouraging him to talk more and more awhile looking at me on and off. Whenever he stopped talking she would ask another question and he would repeat what he had already been talking about ! The other one, who was on a computer looked up, at least twice, saw me waiting and still did not bother to come over. The Osborne may look impressive, but looks can be deceiving. Would not even contemplate staying here going by the experience I had.

We used the Osborne for a reception after scattering our dear loved one's ashes in the sea at Meadfoot in July 2026. Haidee (events manager) and Steven (bar & restaurant manager) were so helpful, and did a wonderful job for us setting up the Crescent Suite beautifully for the occasion, and looking after us, and all our guests. I'd highly recommend this venue to others. Naomi, Torquay.

Stunning hotel, beautiful, large room and friendly helpful team members. Breakfast was really nice with full English and continental options. Outdoor pool great. Is a little out of town but the walk is pleasant. Only downside was the chairs in the dining area were dirty (really stained) and the table was sticky. This unfortunately brings the hotel down a bit.

Location was beautiful. Rooms were big and clean. Pool area was lovely.

Everything about the property was lovely , the only downfall was the pressure in the shower Wich we complained about several times , that was the only bad thing about the hotel

Breakfast: there is hardly anything refilled, and you can order once something from the menu, it feels very very limited. After the first day we gave this feedback, next day things were more refilled, but then afterwards the same: no bananas (only on request), empty fruit bowls, etc. Our room wasnt cleaned once, we went to the reception: no apologies, only the remark: did you put the sign out with dont disturb? But we didnt, no nothing: just some towels and 1 toilet role. Before that, our toilet paper wasnt refilled. We did get then half a role after asking.. ok, thanks for not filling it up and then giving half a role for 3 people…
