Reviewed Jul 17, 2026The hotel lady (so sorry, I can't remember her name) was so lovely, friendly and helpful. She made our experience of Oamaru even better. She was so knowledgeable, and when I mentioned my shoes were wet, she gave me a shoe warmer to dry them out. Definitely went over and above to give us a pleasant stay. Thankyou

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026There was oodles of parking, though not near our unit. The heater was effective. The bathroom was clean and light. Although it was on the main road, it was quiet.
The booking web site offered the opportunity to choose an upstairs or downstairs unit. We asked for a downstairs unit. We were given an upstairs unit, and were told that the choice didn't actually apply to the kind of unit we asked for (which was just room for three people). A choice you cannot get should not be offered. The "beautiful view" suggested by the name of the motel was a view of the car park. Not a particularly ugly car park,. Other units viewed the car park from different angles, but that seems to be the only view on offer. The cold tap in the bathroom was dripping fast all night; it required more force than I felt comfortable applying to turn it off.
