It’s hard to find fault, it just seems expensive to me to spend so much money in place were you are just sleeping but they are all on the higher end thus part of Ireland in any tourist community. Plus they have to charge enough to get through the winter.

The only thing we weren’t so comfortable with was the shower in 🛀 setup. It was very narrow and the shower curtain was very annoying.

The night desk clerk was rude and short with us a few times. We ordered neat whiskey at the bar a few nights and the amount he poured was exactly 1/3 of the thickness of my iPhone - yes, I measured to get the sense of scale! Having traveled throughout Ireland and Scotland more than once, we know that a pour of whiskey is very, very modest. But this was insane: basically a width of a wide Sharpie - you could barely see it! Nonetheless, we loved the facility otherwise.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Πολύ όμορφο και γραφικό κατάλυμα. Παρότι είχαμε κλείσει το τετράκλινο οικογενειακό δωμάτιο, ήταν αρκετά ευρύχωρο και υπήρχε μια μικρή αίσθηση ιδιωτικοτητας, όπως ήταν η διαρρύθμιση του. Πολύ ευγενικό προσωπικό τόσο στην ρεσεψιόν όσο και στην τραπεζαρία. Θα το επέλεγα πάλι!!

Gemütliche Einrichtung zum Wohlfühlen. Die Lage ist gut und nicht zu laut. In die Innenstadt sind es ca. 10min zu Fuß (an der Straße entlang).

It’s a great location, but the biggest draw was their breakfast. We traveled for 2 weeks, staying at about 7 different hotels and this breakfast was the best we had! The folks running the front and the breakfast were also lovely people.
There wasn’t really a way to regulate our temperature in the room. It got very hot!

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Spent 4 nights in August at the Old Weir Lodge. The breakfast was delicious. The room was lovely. Short walk to the center of town. It was a great place in which to fall in love with Killarney. The staff was very nice and helpful. All in all we had a lovely stay and are planning to go back.
The beds could have been a little less firm for our taste. But that’s just a minor thing.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück bot alles, was wir uns gewünscht haben. Von frischen Waffeln bis zum full irish breakfast wurde auf Wunsch alles frisch zubereitet.

Ein wenig vermisst haben wir eine schöne Sitzmöglichkeit im Aussenbereich (war sehr gutes Wetter) abseits des Eingangs.

The inn is convenient if a bit of a walk to most of the town of Killarney tourist areas, food etc. Very clean and quiet. Comfortable bed, best sleep I’d had so far on my trip. Lovely breakfast. I thought the price was quite reasonable as well.
