Seaview Sanctuary

It was very peaceful and relaxing - just what I needed. I had a lovely room with a balcony and I could see the sea from my bed. The hosts Rich and Katie were lovely and welcoming, calm and relaxed. Katie likes to provide her guests with tasty cakes - and I really enjoyed consuming them.

I could hear the tenant upstairs early every morning ‘galloping’ across their room ! Luckily I didn’t hear them again for the rest of the day.

I didn't have breakfast so can't comment! The room was clean and comfortable with its own balcony to sit on and admire the view of the sea. Table and chairs to do this! The TV actually worked - many places they don't. Richard and Katie, the owners/hosts were very friendly and pleasant. I liked the generous supply of tea and coffee; the home made cakes were an additional bonus. There is a bus stop outside of the property for buses towards Hastings and another one not far across the road for rides into Eastbourne center. It is possible to walk to the town but it takes about 15/20 minutes on the flat; you can walk along the promenade and avoid the traffic!

It is on a busy road so there was a fair amount of traffic noise which went down at night. I took ear plugs which helped(but I always take them when away). There are quite steep steps up to the front door and I struggled a bit with my case. If you have mobility issues you may find this accommodation hard to access because of the stairs.

The cakes in the afternoon were superb. Lovely room with a sea view. A very handy bus stop at the front door.

The balcony, although it had beautiful sea views, was not private. It was overlooked by the neighbours and those sitting on the top deck of the buses stopping at the bus stop in front of the hotel.

Everything including Rich and Katie such lovely people.

There was nothing to dislike

The continental breakfast was excellent, varied and generous. We had dietary issues, having to keep to a strict, gluten-free diet, but the hosts were very considerate and provided everything we requested.

I don’t feel there was anything that could have contributed to making our stay more enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very comfortable.

Our room with balcony had a sea view which we enjoyed. It was comfortable, fresh and clean. Richard and Katie were extremely welcoming with home baking always available. The optional continental breakfast was generous and good value.

Super Lage, direkt an der Strandpromenade und nicht weit vom Zentrum. Sehr angenehmes geräumiges Zimmer mit guter Ausstattung. Der Blick vom Zimmer im 2.Stock auf das Meer ist wunderschön. Die Gastgeber Katie und Rich sind unglaublich herzlich und geben gute Tipps, um die Umgebung zu entdecken. Ausserdem backt Katie jeden Tag wundervolle Kuchen für die Hotelgäste.

Die Uferstrasse ist leider etwas laut, sonst alles bestens

La tienen preciosa y no le falta detalle, la habitación súper confortable con un balcón precioso y unas vistas increíbles a la playa, y todo limpio y bien conservado, con muchísimo encanto! La ubicación perfecta para ir a la playa, al muelle, al centro, con muchos restaurantes cerca. Me encantó la repostería casera que tienen a disposición de los huéspedes 24h, el mejor banana bread que he probado nunca! Rich y Katie son personas maravillosas y su casa también, la recomiendo sin duda!

I had a wonderful stay here. The owner is very caring, welcoming and friendly. It was so cosy to come back to my room in the evening after a day of exploring. The location is perfect, right by the sea. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and for making my stay so lovely! 🥰

The guest house was immaculately clean throughout, very comfortable with everything we needed. Great location -quiet yet close to everything.

cakes/biscuits and water/milk on offer for guests was a nice touch and the hosts were very pleasant.

the breakfast was expensive for the limited selection and it was uncomfortably hot in the small breakfast room (it was a hot weekend so maybe it is normally not so bad)

Katie und Rich sind großartige, außergewöhnlich freundliche und zugewandte Gastgeber. Toller Frühstücksservice, zusätzlich gab es ein wechselndes Angebot an leckeren Cookies, die man sich für unterwegs mitnehmen durfte. Der Bus hält direkt vor der Tür.

Everything! The view and location. The owners were amazing and let us know about a carnival that was happening on the sat for us to have a great view of the procession passing by under our balcony. They gave us great info about where to eat too

The property was just over the road from the beach with bus stops outside. The pier and town a fifteen minute walk. The property was clean and tidy as was our room which had mini fridge and tv and complementary tea coffee and biscuits.

There was nothing to dislike in our opinion.

All of it the hosts were lovely very accommodated the view was beautiful I will definitely miss that. If I come to Eastbourne again I would definitely stay here again. And my partner absolutely loved the cakes katie made. Thank you to both of them lovely stay

This is a lovely place to stay. I was working locally for a couple of nights and Seaview was very comfortable and welcoming. My room was kindly upgraded to a sea view as they had a cancellation, I had plenty of space and a nice bathroom. I particularly liked the mini fridge for fresh milk, but there are hot drinks available all day in the conservatory. Katie also leaves you some amazing cake! Great value for money, great location on the seafront and I checked out super early (7am) but it wasn't an issue, i just left the key in the room so I didn't have to disturb anyone. 10/10.

One of the best places to stay in Eastbourne. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the pier, right opposite the seafront and the beautiful coastal road, making it an excellent for exploring the area. A huge thank you to Rich and Katie, who were such wonderful hosts. They made sure I had everything I needed and were always happy to help. I stayed here for my hike to beachyhead and Seven Sisters cliff from eastbourne to seaford and Rich gave me good advices,which I really appreciated. A lovely touch was the complimentary homemade cake and cookies—they were absolutely delicious and even came in handy during my hike! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming stay in Eastbourne. I'm already looking forward to visiting again. Thank you, Rich and Katie, for your fantastic hospitality!

I loved staying here, my view from the balcony was beautiful of trees, garden and sea. So clean and comfy with lots of extra touches you do not get in a hotel, including free delicious homemade cakes to enjoy . Great location for lovely sea walks in either direction.

The welcome was warm and genuine with complementary home made cakes in the conservatory. The room had loads of plugs, and mirrors in the right places, this can be a rarity! The property was well placed, so much so that we did not need our car at all.

We loved the location as it's right by the seafront. Our room had a balcony and a gorgeous view of the sea and the Glass House. Everything was super clean and Rich & Katie had thought of everything. There even was a mini fridge in our room! Katie made fresh cakes every day that were absolutely divine. Honestly, Sea View far exceeded our expectations.

Fantastisk plass å være! Følte meg som hjemme fra første øyeblikk. Vertskapet Rich og Katie var utrolig gjestfrie. Rommet var rent og luktet friskt og godt. Katie sine hjemmebakte kaker var magiske. Servicegraden til paret var av ypperste kvalitet. Området egner seg veldig godt til dagsturer, de ble det mange av. Hit vil jeg igjen.

Katie and Rich were incredibly accommodating. It felt like home, and I loved how they decorated the interior of the house. I had a seaview room with a balcony and it made my birthday trip beyond my expectations - so cosy, relaxing, and I truly had a wonderful time. I enjoyed the homemade cakes and biscuits by Katie. Also, it was such a delight to meet their visiting relatives and their 3 cats (just before I left). I greatly appreciate the lovely chats and the birthday treat.

We had a terrific location with a sea side view. It was great to have binoculars to scan the channel. Really yummy cakes and coffee that we enjoyed in the conservatory. Katie and Rich were wonderful hosts.

The road can be quite busy and noisy, but it runs through the entire town, so all beachfront hotels in the area have the same situation.

Ŵe loved everything about Seaview Sanctuary! Katie and Rich are the perfect hosts and make you feel so welcome from the moment you walk through the door, even when you are three hours early! Our room was lovely, and we really appreciated all the extras from the comfortable bed with beautiful percale linen, the luxurious towels to the biscuits, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. A very special treat was the delicious cakes baked daily by Katie and made available for guests to enjoy. Seaview Sanctuary is a gem in Eastbourne, and we will certainly be booking again!!

We absolutely loved our stay. It was near the event we were visiting and very accessible by bus and by walking from the train station. The room was clean and quiet and had everything we needed. We hope to stay again next year!

Lovely guesthouse situated on the seafront. Rich and Katie were great hosts and were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for 5 nights and our room had everything we needed which included a mini fridge which was handy. The room was also very comfortable and clean. Lovely touch having home made cakes in the conservatory available as well as tea and coffee. We would certainly stay again when visiting friends and family.

The owners were very welcoming from arrival, the room was spotless when we arrived and had tea,coffee &hot chocolate. Along with fresh milk being provided and 2 bottles of water in a mini fridge. Katie also makes cakes/cookies for her guests which are incredible! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Definitely 5* from us!

The room was comfortable and the tea-making facilities were excellent. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The afternoon cake and additional breakfast options were very - continental style that catered very for gluten free was much appreciated. The location is excellent right next to the promenade.

Great value for money with everything we needed for a great few days away. The room was spotless and the accommodation was very homely. There was a hairdryer, fan, mini fridge, tea & coffee making facilities with milk, toiletries and biscuits in the room too. A larger fridge downstairs to store additional items with additional tea & coffee making facilities. An assortment of umbrellas (which came in very handy) and a good shelf of books! Great location on the seafront.

It's a bit of a walk to main shopping area - fine in 🌞 summer but when it's wet not so good

Our room (6) had a fantastic view overlooking the sea, a balcony with a bistro table and chairs which would have been perfect to use in warmer weather, however not for us on this occasion ( Mid October). The guest house was ideally situated,not too far to walk into central Eastbourne and a good base if you wanted to travel further out. Kate and Rich have made this place welcoming from your arrival until you leave. It is clean, has all the amenities you would need for your stay ie toiletries,hairdryer,kettle and sachets of assorted drinks and even a small fridge with water and fresh milk,and the comfiest bed. They also do a continental style breakfast which you could order the day before,although we didn't use this facility. Kate bakes cakes and cookies etc which you can help yourselves to,they were so good.We were able to park with no issues on a side road ,although that may differ in high season. We had a 2 night get away and were able to relax,have a good walk around and enjoy the sea air.

Breakfast was light - croissant,fruit,hot drinks costs£7.50, but you can nip to the sainsburys 2 roads behind and get your own to eat on the sea front

A Fantastic place to stay. The Hosts are a really lovely couple, who will do anything to help to make your stay a plesant one. Our room was lovely with a nice balcony, perfect for morning breakfast. Rich helped to take our bags up and if you would like breakfast, he will bring up to the balcony for you. The breakfasts were amazing and so were the cakes that Katie baked for the conservatory. A real treat! Milk and biscuits in our room too. We had a really lovely stay and would highly recommend. Location was really great for the Air show and lots of FREE parking around too. A room with a lovely view. Glad we found Seaview Sanctuary!

I like the room, location the balcony and view also the owners are so helpful and kind.

We loved location along the sea front, walking distance of shops, theatre and harbour. Our room was lovely with balcony and sea view. We especially loved the provision of fresh milk in a bottle in the fridge in our room, for our cuppa teas (we do not like UHT milk). After returning late after our theatre show, the complimentary flapjack was lovely ☺️

The mattress was soft and bouncy, it’s not a criticism it’s just not what we are used to!

Excellent accueil et disponibilité de nos hôtes, très sympathiques. Chambre confortable et calme. Café et thé à disposition dans la chambre et gâteaux maison dans la salle commune. Bon petit déjeuner. Parfait pour quelques nuits. Pas de place de parking mais en 3 jours nous n'avons pas eu de difficulté à nous garer à proximité.

Außerordentlich freundliche Gastgeber, regelmäßig wurde hausgemachter Kuchen angeboten, und bei der sehr frühen Abreise gab es als Überraschung noch ein Care-Paket für die Heimfahrt. Das Zimmer ließ keine Wünsche übrig, zudem mit Terrasse und Meerblick!

We were on the top floor, very Clean and cozy room with great view of the sea from balcony, could even see the sea whilst led in bed. Nice area and quiet at night. Lovely hosts, cute cats, and a conservatory at the front of the building where there were freshly baked cakes plus tea and coffee which guests can help themselves to, this was especially appreciated on our return from the seven sisters coastal walk (which is stunning, and this is a great base for doing this walk). Es liegt zwar schön mit Blick aufs Meer, aber die Straße ist relativ laut und man muss (ohne Auto) immer weite Strecken laufen um zb zum Bahnhof oder zum Wanderweg nach Beachy Head zu gelangen

Ein guter Ort, um Eastbourne zu erkunden. Die Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend.

Bei Rich and Katie fühlt man sich sofort Willkommen, sie haben uns in allen Fragen geholfen. Alles sehr sauber und liebevoll gestaltet. Die Straße vorm Haus ist zwar laut, aber die Lage direkt am Strand ist toll.Auch das Frühstück (zubuchbar) war ziemlich gut.

Seaview Sanctuary is a brilliant place to stay. It is super-clean, with very comfy beds and quality linen, in an excellent location overlooking the sea, with a wonderful view from the hotel. Breakfast in the conservatory - super!
