Very spacious, lovely room with dual aspect windows. The best breakfast, fully served, white tablecloth service, with much choice. Location is very good specially if you want access to the beach, which we found to be convenient for relaxing and swimming.

The shower cubicle was very small. It was fitted with a drencher shower head, so was not adjustable. You turn it on by reaching inside the cubicle, in the process you get soaked and the flooring before you've been able to work out hot from cold. I had a cold shower.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had most things you could need including a hairdryer and when we requested an iron it was brought up very quickly. The room we had (314) was also nice and quiet.

For the price we paid I would have expected a bit more attention to cleanliness in the room, there was thick dust on the light fixtures and on the mirror in the bathroom. The shower didn’t have great water pressure and some of the sealant around the edge was mouldy. The check out was a bit chaotic with a huge queue of customers all waiting to check out and pay their bills at 10:30 - a better system would be to get people to pay their outstanding room bill at check-in, that way we could’ve dropped our key without having to wait.

Das in die Jahre gekommene Hotel liegt direkt an der Hauptstraße am Kies-Strand. Optisch ist es sehr schön typisch britisch. War früher sicher mal ein stattliches Hotel.

Die Strand-Straße ist sehr stark befahren. Ruhe genießen und evtl. offenes Fenster in der Nacht wäre kaum möglich. Unser Superior-DZ war leider auf ca. 28 Grad beheizt als wir es betraten (der Heizkörper im Bad war defekt). Das Zimmer war sehr schön, aber hatte leider einen unangenehmen Geruch und war dazu noch viel zu warm . Den Heizkörper schalteten wir aus. Nachdem wir am Abend ins Zimmer zurück kamen, war es noch genauso heiß, trotz geöffnetem Fenster! An der Rezeption sagte man uns, dass es wohl sehr lange dauern würde, bis der Heizkörper kalt wird. Er meinte, wir sollen einfach die Badtür schließen und das Fenster öffnen. Ich sagte ihm, das ich in einem so heißen Raum nicht schlafen könne und fragte, ob sie noch ein anderes Zimmer für ins frei hätten. Da meinte er, dass alle Zimmer so warm sind. Da wir allerdings 2 DZ in verschiedenen Kategorien gebucht hatten (für unsere beiden Söhne), konnte ich ihm widersprechen. Das zweite DZ war ganz normal temperiert. Dann ging er runter und schaute nach einem anderen Zimmer für uns. Es gab wohl nur noch ein Zimmer in der günstigeren Kategorie, welches wir dann nahmen. Es war kühl und auf der Rückseite des Hotels. Ohne Meerblick dann natürlich. Es kam keinerlei Entschuldigung oder ein Versuch, den Kategoriewechsel irgendwie auszugleichen. Das war sehr enttäuschend. Gut geschlafen haben wir trotzdem nicht, da es am frühen Morgen schon laut zuging. Das Frühstück war okay. Es gab fast alles zum aussuchen auf der Karte. Nur schade, dass mit unserer berechtigten Reklamation so schlecht umgegangen wurde. Darum kann ich dieses Hotel leider nicht empfehlen.

Good location, parts of the hotel are well looked after and decorated nicely.

I stayed in a single room which was basic at best. The mattress was quite firm and had blankets and a sheet instead of a duvet. The bathroom was of a worse standard than that of a university dorm. The sealant around the bath and taps were discoloured and mouldy. The water pressure in the shower was poor and the taps meant it was difficult to find a reasonable water temperature. The whole room was extremely basic and not 4 stars by any means. The TV remote was absolutely filthy, cannot imagine the last time it was wiped down. I cannot speak for every room, but from my experience this is not a 4 star hotel as advertised.

Whole place looks tired and dated. Covering on headboard was peeling off and shower caddy rusty. Could do with a complete refurbishment! Bathroom was very cramped and shower only just about adequate. Anyone bigger or less mobile than myself and my husband would have found it virtually impossible to use. Also we found a toenail on the floor!

Room was so small, single bed, very claustrophobic. Wardrobe was at waist height. Bathroom was even smaller… Toilet was squashed between wall and bath that you could barely sit on it. Shower leaked. Asked to change room and was happy to pay access but was told that even though there were spare room the person on reception didn’t know how to do it so I had to make do!!

Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, though quite dated. When did you last sleep under a blanket?

Although clean (except for a spider's web behind a blind) and functional the bathroom was even more dated than the bedroom.

Appear to use bacon rather than ham in the eggs benedict so I had eggs royale, but then only one poached egg (Wetherspoon give 2 with eggs benedict and real ham). No onsite free parking. Not sure how it got 4 stars. No gardens and no free onsite parking unlike the following 3 star hotels - Forest and Vale at Pickering, Porth Avallen at St Austell, Chilworth Manor at Southampton (also with spa and swimming pool) and the 4 star Hydro at Eastbourne (also with swimming pool)

Lovely staff! Hotel has recently been taken over, the new owners look keen to make the updates required. That said everywhere is clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was really good and tasty. We also had an excellent dinner and would highly recommend the food.

Room was large and airy, with a very large bay window. Fantastic view from the 2nd floor of the beach and sea front. All the hotel was immaculately clean and well decorated. Breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose to suit all tastes. Helpful and friendly staff made this a very pleasant stay. I would certainly book again, and thoroughly recommend this hotel

Parking in an old army base - every time we needed to go out or back to the car we had to ask someone to go round and open up. Not ideal for the price we paid. Bathroom was extremely hot - maybe needs a vent of some kind.

The view from our apartment was stunning. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was very clean, and had everything that we needed, so you don’t have to bring anything (like hairdryer, robe, bathroom supplies or iron) Overall the experience was very pleasant.

The breakfast was okay, but the portions a little bit small. Plus is that you can order every ingredient “double”. Menus need a little bit more description about served food. Not the best but not the worst that we had for sure.

Loved everything about the hotel, when you look around everything is in great order, including the beautiful plants at the front of the hotel. Super friendly team members too, in all areas of the hotel.

The only negative.. asking for a decaffeinated coffee at breakfast and being told there was an extra charge! Very surprised at this, considering breakfast at the hotel is £16.00. Asking for a decaffeinated coffee is a dietary requirement. Hotel does need to address this.

The hotel is lovely. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is wonderful, right on the seafront and the terrace is a beautiful spot for a drink or breakfast. The staff were lovely. We arrived at check-in time but our room wasn’t ready due to a high volume of guests checking in that day. The woman at reception was lovely but couldn’t give us a time when it would be ready. We came back two hours later and the room still wasn’t ready and she apologised and offered us a complimentary drink at the bar.

The room we were in, 114, looks onto the parking. This isn’t a problem but the security light shone pretty much directly into the room and so the room was very bright at night, which wasn’t ideal for sleeping. It did go off at a certain point but then must have had a sensor as it turned on occasionally. Tilting the light down and black out curtains would fix this.

Breakfast was excellent along with the staff in general who were all friendly and helpful. At the front of the Hotel is a beautiful terraced area to sit out in the sunshine and watch the world go by!

The Hotel itself is a little dated in terms of decor, but you couldn't fault the cleanliness and it has fantastic potential with a little updating!

Our room was on the third floor. Sound proof, no noise from other rooms. No late night door banging. The room and bathroom were clean and well stocked with soaps, tea, coffee, biscutes and water. There was a fan in our room too although we did actually take our own, larger one. The room was kept clean throughout the visit with room service. The veiw, although not a sea veiw, was lovely, looking out across the back of the town which captures the sunset beautifully. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Quick, polite service from resturant staff. I would definately stay here again.

Single room was dusty and room smelled a bit, doesn't look like it has been touched in a while. We were charged for extra coffee i.e Cappuccino, flat white or americano. Not everyone drinks filtered or french pressed watery coffee.

Het lijkt wel alsof ze zich niet georganiseerd hebben voor een drukkere periode. Hebben meer mensen horen klagen bij de receptie over verschillende zaken. Inchecken bij ons duurde enorm lang. Kamers waren nog niet klaar, terwijl de check in vanaf half drie was. Er werd aangegeven dat we om half vier naar de kamer konden. Toen we om half vier gingen checken waren de kamers nog niet klaar. Eerste kamer konden we om 1600 uur in. De tweede kamer was toen nog niet klaar. Pas om kwart voor vijf konden we naar de kamer. Receptioniste voelde zich echt wel schuldig, dat merkte je aan alles. Heeft uiteindelijk de kosten van de parkeergarage niet doorberekend als coulance voor het wachten. Netjes! Twee persoonsbed is echt te klein voor 2 volwassenen. Zowel lengte als de breedte. Douche kon je niet in omdraaien (ik ben niet zo groot en de douchekop had de langste tijd gehad, kwam maar 1 straal uit). Personeel kwam bij het ontbijt aardig gestressed over. Geen uitleg over hoe het menu/bestelling werkte en toen we dus wat verward bestelde, kwam er n ietwat kortaf antwoord. Ontbijt zelf was prima en ruime keus! Prachtig hotel op een mooie plek. Maar er moet echt wat aan de organisatie gedaan worden en n upgrade van de kamers/douche mag ook wel. Zelfs in typisch Engelse stijl 😊

Parking atrocious night porter unhelpful when asking where I could park after driving around for 20 minutes at around 10:30pm. If you have a disability don’t go in the height of the season unless you’re willing or able to walk a distance.

The fact everything was cooked fresh was for breakfast was amazing. Other hotels we've had to have buffet style and things would be cold. The staff were all brilliant from start to finish. They made my aunties 80th beyond unforgettable.

For the price i would have liked the double room to be a bit bigger.

I booked a single room for an overnight stay. It had everything I needed, including a fan and comfortable bed, and was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was very good quality and all the interactions I had with staff were friendly and efficient.

The shower in my room wasn't great - the shower head was blocked with limescale and the seal around the door was leaky.

Wonderful location right on the seafront. Breakfast was plentiful with a good number of choices. Very convenient for the Lexus tennis championships. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
