Rooms are dirty and dated, string odour and the cub-board surfaces are sticky.

Reviewed Jan 17, 2026Sehr aufmerksame und super nette Gastgeberin. Das Zimmer war sauber, geräumig und sehr hübsch eingerichtet. Man kann sich dort sehr gut erholen. Und das Frühstück war dann wirklich ausgezeichnet. Es gab sehr leckeres frisches Obst und auch alles andere war ganz frisch zubereitet und sehr hübsch angerichtet. Man kann diese Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen!

Reviewed Dec 16, 2025A warm and wonderful old house with so much character. I especially loved the attention to detail and small personal touches. Breakfast was just superb. Zanalee went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and special. What was supposed to be just a "sleep over" became one of the highlights of our trip.

Reviewed Dec 13, 2025The host, Zanalee was super helpful in assisting me with obtaining a private taxi to take me to the Maseru Bridge border crossing with Lesotho. Also, it was no problem at all with my late check in which was just before midnight following a long drive. The cooked breakfast was very tasty also.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2025On the edge of town, nice and quiet. Attention to decor and meals was of a very good standard. Even although the temperature was -3, we were warm and snug in our room. The Hostess was very friendly and hospitable and directed us to a very good Chinese restaurant in town for dinner.

Reviewed Apr 23, 2025Comfortable bed with an electric blanket, much needed as the room was chilly for an autumn evening. TV had all the stations and the WiFi connectivity was excellent. Host was very generous in letting me keep my belongings in the room after check-out time as I was not traveling out of Ladybrand until later that day. Would stay again!
When I arrived at the gate the intercom was not working and I was unable to get inside. I ended up having to WhatsApp the host to be let in.

I want to caution others about my experience with Top House. After booking accommodation for my daughter’s wedding more than four months in advance and receiving confirmation, I was shocked to receive a cancellation message just four days before my arrival from Namibia. The reason? They prioritized a last-minute request from another guest to extend their stay. This lack of professionalism and consideration for my original booking was extremely disappointing. I cannot recommend this establishment. It’s clear that they do not value their commitments or their guests. Please think twice before placing your trust in Top House.
