Reviewed May 17, 2026the location was just the best. Close to everything. I loved the two bedroom had a bathroom each. That was great. The apartment was comfortable and cute.

Reviewed Apr 19, 2026The appartment was cute and different with it been located in an old Chapel, stained glass windows and timber work of the roof added to the character. Beds very comforable. Good kitchen well set up, nice to have an oven to cook if you want to.
Because of the very central location and lack of on site parking the parking was a bit of a problem, there is a parking building accross the road but it is a bit expensive.

Reviewed Feb 24, 2026Location was fabulous and we could walk to restaurants and cafes.we used Wilson Parking which was over the road. Reasonable rates over night. Finally the bed was great. Would recommend Chapel apartments to anyone.

Dark & dingy. Apartment 6 was right at the back of a dark cold hallway and then we had to push button ( not electric, think old fashioned safe combo 🤔)a combo code in to unlock the door each time we wanted to leave. There was left over belongings in room from previous guest. Cold. Heat pump down stairs but didn’t heat living area which was upstairs. Small wall heater upstairs was on a timer only - so it would switch off after 15 mins or so and then you would have to keep switching it back on. Obviously as they didn’t want guests using too much power - but it was so so cold we needed it going continuously! Bathrooms cramped - clothes dryer was located in the bedroom which was weird. Just all round overpriced for tired cold accomodation. No parking, not even a place to pull in and unload your luggage.

Reviewed May 6, 2025Quirky nice comfortable apartment. No parking which Is a nightmare at time of booking. Dunedin is a giant car park with cars everywhere. Had to resort to the Wilson Cark at $10 per 12 hours best price. Apartment was clean but had problems, tv cutting out as over a heater and shower coming away from the wall but apart from that an enjoyable stay although over priced.

Having to 'juggle' the parking was a bit of a pain. No real problems, but just a layer of effort we'd be happier without.

PARKING, we managed to manoeuvre the car around. That would be the only downside in not having an allocated car spot. There is no cupboard provision for the 2nd bedroom if you were staying for a longer period.

It's across the street from a reasonably priced indoor parking garage. Free street parking 7pm-9am. Outdoor stairs to first floor entrance level of two bedrooms, each of which with an en suite bathroom, in apartment staircase to living room/kitchen.

Reviewed Jun 2, 2023Centrally located and accessible to multiple cafes, bars, shopping and the movies. it was also a block away from the function that we were attending. Wilson parking right across the street and it cost $25 from 2pm Saturday to 10am Sunday - totally affordable and saved having to try and find a park in the street. Really warm, spacious and had a cupboard of pantry staples like coffee and Panadol (which came in handy the next morning) Couldn’t hear any street noise at all, staff were really friendly when we left in the morning.

Reviewed Feb 17, 2023Location, clean, comfortable, and very quiet. Would highly recommend to others, especially if you are travelling as friends the two bedrooms with bathrooms were much appreciated.
There was a bit of an issue with parking, Although Alexa explained where and how to park which was much appreciated, the car park across the road was often full which meant we had to park on the one hour street parking which meant having to keep going back to the car to top up. Overnight 6pm to 9am is free.

Reviewed Jul 23, 2022We were very disappointed with this property. In the apartment the underfloor heating in one bathroom did not work. The jets in the showers did not work. Two of the taps were not fixed to the sinks and spun around when used. There were cracks in the walls. The entrance way was not clean. There was a lot of rubbish outside Apartment 3. The parking was a nightmare. There was no fresh milk. For the price, this was simply not acceptable. I sent an email to the property and pointed out our concerns - they didnt even respond.

Reviewed Oct 16, 2021Stylish and interesting apartments in the middle of town, it was a great place to stay. We loved our apartment, very cozy yet historic. We had no problems parking in the spot provided. The apartment was very warm and cozy, but if your someone who really needs fresh breezes and windows out to the open, you might not enjoy it here. There are also a lot of stairs, which was fine for us.

Given that this meant only one small opening window, I would not want to stay more than a few days.
