It was lovley
Swimming pool and decent in
Location. Great staff. Clean and spacious room. Nice breakfast options. Lap pool.
Nothing.
Good 👍
It was my partners birthday and I rang them the week before but they couldn't help with anything extra for the room, card, flowers etc, even though I would have paid a healthy premium, it's the first 4 star hotel ive booked in years that couldn't accommodate anything, never a good start. To link up with the local flower shop which is actually a few hundred metres away would be good for business.
Everything was wonderful! The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Everything met the expected standards in terms of price and quality. It’s a very peaceful and quiet place to stay and relax, which is really important. I highly recommend it — you won’t regret it. I would be more than happy to stay here again if I’m passing through the area.
Perfect
Very good rooms. Great facilities. Super friendly and professional staff.
Nothing.
On site parking was good and the entrance lobby is spacious and a relaxing place to sit. I really appreciated the excellent gluten free selection at breakfast including gluten free pancakes. Dinner was OK, the usual sort of pub food. It was nice to sit outside on their patio with a drinking the evening. I liked the decor colours etc of the bedroom.
Our first Room had damp in the bathroom. On the plus side they very quickly changed our room.
It was lovely
Personal touch and friendly staff
No mini bar in the room
THE BREAKFAST WAS BEAUTIFUL AND THE STAFF WERE REALLY LOVELY AND MOST HELPFUL. I ASKED TO CHANGE ROOMS AS I FOUND THE NOISE THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT OUTSIDE MY WINDOW VERY LOUD THE PERSON AT THE DESK WAS REALLY NICE ABOUT IT
NOTHING
Comfy bed, spacious room. Good selection of food for breakfast. Great food in the bar Helpful staff
Spa jacuzzi & pool wasn't as clean as a few months ago.. Bunch of young lads (guests) being loud at 3am.. bad luck, not the hotel's fault..
Staff excellent. Food beautiful.
There appeared to a very strong sweet smell in the toilets which was quite sickening.
Breakfast was delicious
Noise initially from beer garden
Room was clean, bed was so comfortable and pillows were comfortable.
Had trouble getting the water to regulate in the shower.
The staff were so friendly and helpful during the stay and in the build up. We had a big group and they could not have done more to accommodate us. Lovely leisure centre and the food was really good in the bistro
Staff are lovely and accommodating, the hotel is nice and clean as always. And the beds are comfy! Also, the Irish rib of beef on the lunch carvery, cut like butter!
A wonderful stay. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent in the Bistro.
Excellent for a mid size Irish town hotel. Good service. Good food. Nice room.
Not much to dislike except maybe more choice at breakfast..
Nice warm hotel
The bath was impossible to get in and out of. Could easily slip . A wet room. Would be more efficient⁹
My mam, daughter and I had a great two night break at the Anner Hotel. The staff are so friendly and obliging and I feel are the hotel's greatest asset. From our welcome, time in the restaurant and interactions with other staff, we felt so well looked after for our entire stay. We loved the breakfast and the food in the bar and having the pool was great entertainment for my little girl. The kids club wasn't running during our stay but we were allowed into the play room which was great. All of the staff paid special attention to my little girl, she was treated so well! The room was so clean and well presented and a lovely member of housekeeping staff checked on us after the first night to see if we needed our room turned down or any fresh supplies. 10/10 to The Anner for customer service.
We stayed one night, courtesy of Rory’s travel club. In checking in we were told there was no dinner reservation slot until 8pm which did not suit us as we had a meeting elsewhere at 9pm. There was no ‘give’ at all. We found this most annoying and feel that we should have been given prior notice about this on booking. However, we subsequently met a most helpful, talented and cheerful member of staff (Muireann) who sorted everything and in a nice way. This was in total contrast to the reception staff. Muireann should be applauded for her demeanour and also proved to be a very talented cocktail maker! Had a bad experience with our room(room no. 115) . Despite asking for a quiet room on booking, we had a room with a loud humming generator or fan outside our window (and also facing a wall) . We did ask to have a room change but couldn’t avail of this as we only found this out when we were leaving for our meeting and it was too late and we were too tired on our return to move all our stuff into the ‘new’ room. We have often stayed in the Anner Hotel and have found it to be very nice and welcoming but this latest experience was a bit of a let down . Muireann saved the day, thankfully!

Great location, Thurles is a lovely town & not far from the Rock of Cashel & Glen of Aherlow which we visited while in Tipperary. The hotel had a good atmosphere, staff were lovely & so helpful to us. The room was perfect, particularly loved the bathroom which looked to have been refurbed, the shower was amazing and special shout out for having a detachable shower head, excellent for showering a child! I felt we got value for our money staying here, there was confusion however over the deal I had booked, I believed dinner on both nights was included however we only got dinner on one night & only I got it free, not my child. They was one downer. Cleanliness, food had no grievance there, the place was perfectly clean! Noise level on our second night was an issue, the appeared to be a graduation ball on & we could hear noise from same until 3am, first night was perfect though! My only main issue in this hotel was how cold the children’s pool was, we couldn’t enjoy the use of it due to it being quite frankly, icy. My daughter was quite disappointed at not being able to spend time in it. The main pool however was lovely & the perfect temperature!
Just returned from our 3rd stay at The Anner Hotel. We love the atmosphere of the hotel. Every member of staff we met went out of their way to be helpful. Special mention to Marie on reception. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We ate in the bistro on both nights and enjoyed our meals very much. Looking forward to booking a stay again soon.
It was very convenient for us as we visiting extended family in the area. It’s a beautiful hotel with lots of amenities and friendly staff. We loved the breakfast options and also the food in the evenings.
Very poor hotel. Room was grubby with marks on walls and dust on furniture. There was a calpol syringe and a kids toy under the bed from previous occupants. The bathroom was surprisingly clean considering how poor the room was. No safe in room. The entire pool area was grubby and could do with a total overhaul. Neither of the water features in the kids pool or main pool were working. We visited the pool on the evening we arrived and the next morning. On the first day we had to wait an hour for towels. On the second day there were no towels available and when I pushed the attendant she went and got us hand towels which were not much use. The changing room was tiny with only 8 lockers and the amount of hair on the floor at 12 noon made it look like the place hadn't been cleaned for days. There was no shower gel in the pool showers. The food was really nice and the staff were friendly though the service was slow. I won't be back.
Lovely time at this hotel for a family birthday celebration. Food was lovely and the service was excellent. Many thanks. We stayed overnight and breakfast next morning was lovely.
I found the staff very nice and helpful and explained everything to me the room was excellent breakfast fantastic
I could not find any fault with the hotel it was very good
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and fantastic food. The vegetarian curry is best I have ever had. Breakfast really good quality too and rooms very nice with very comfortable beds
Breakfast and room service were nice
Unable to sleep, constant thumping from music, shouting and laughing, well into the early hours of the night. Lucky if I slept for 3 hours The pool closes at 6.30 and the dining at 8.30 which I thought was early. So we didn't have time to use when we arrived On Sunday morning went to the pool at 9.15am but it wasn't open and I was told the person opening didn't come in yet, but they were ment to have opened for 9am,it eventually opened at 10am When I went in, I had to ask for a towel, then I had to ask them to turn on the Sauna and steam room. Nothing seemed prepared and I had to ask for standard things during my stay. I felt like an inconvenience looking for basic services, Going away for a nice weekend and not being able to sleep properly due to other guests, really put a dampener on out trip I would have imagined the party side of the hotel would have been kept for people attending the party I went to reception at might asking how long the party will go on, 2am I was told and that they would tell them to turn down the music. But it never got turned down and it was well after 2am I was still lying awake listening to the banging rave like music
Very spacious comfortable.Relaxed welcoming atmosphere.

Myself my husband and our two year old booked a 1 night stay at the anner hotel thurles in August. We booked a deal or so I thought through Rory Travel Club for 1 night bb, dinner and late check out. I booked through the link of RTC. The link brought me to the anner hotel page. I didn't see that it was a room only rate at 185e for the night . I had thought this was a bit excessive for a room in Thurles mid week bed only but I thought as RTC maybe it was a little extra in bringing our two year old to. I had emailed the hotel prior to arrival that I had booked and was on a RTC package to book a dinner reservation and requested a travel cot for the room. At no point did anyone in reception correct me prior to our arrival that I hadn't correctly booked the RTC offer and give me time to correct it before arrival. We arrived in good faith thinking we had booked this deal. Check in was fine, no one said different. We had our meal and we enjoyed same. At breakfast the next morning this was a different story. We waited to be seated and when we gave our room number to the man in charge that morning ,he said we hadn't breakfast included. I pointed out we were on the RTC deal to best my knowledge still at that time. He said he would go check and seated us at our table. We proceeded to have breakfast and he comes over twice with the print out from booking that it was room only and we would need sort it out at reception. We were made to feel like we were trying pull a fast one and other families were seated beside us, frankly it was embarrassing the carry on. We packed up and headed down to reception to try snd see where the error on booking had occurred. I was told to contact RTC that the anner couldn't do anything to help us. We were subsequently charged for breakfast snd our evening meal the night before. We paid 87e on top of 185e for bed only mid week in thurles. What a joke. We found the hotel really unhelpful and kept telling us to contact RTC and good luck basically. It left a poor taste with us as we only stayed in thurles to break a trip to Cork next day. Really dissapointed. I did contact RTC who in turn tried to liase with the Anner on my part and explain the situation. They asked would the anner in good will refund the breakfast and dinner cost but they refused. Very poor customer service. 87e is a drop in the ocean to a hotel but customer service goes along way. I wouldn't recommend the Anner Hotel to anyone after the way we were treated and will tell people going forward to avoid also. Very dissapointing.
Megan is the best waitress there, always fun to chat and jokes around without a single problem
Megan was a wonderful waitress—friendly, attentive, and professional. She made us feel very welcome and provided excellent service throughout our stay.
Absolutely fantastic service! Everything was handled with such a friendly and professional attitude, and the whole experience was great from start to finish. A special shoutout to Megan, our server, who was incredibly attentive, kind, and helpful. She really made the experience even better. Would definitely recommend and come back again!
Great stay. Barman John was the highlight of the trip.
We had a very relaxing stay at the Anner hotel. There is a lovely relaxed vibe about the place. The staff were all great, however I feel they may have been a bit over stretched at times, perhaps the management need more staff on during peak times!? Shout out for Paul at the front desk who went above and beyond! The bin truck emptying the bottle bin right outside our window at 6am on our first morning was a bit of a rude awakening but overall the hotel seemed quite soundproofed. Highlights were the staff, the lovely patio area which was very chill for sitting out to enjoy a drink and the pool area was great. The food was very tasty both nights, in the bistro and breakfast too. (Lowlight was the oat milk cappuccino from the bistro, seemed to be from a machine and had no froth and very little coffee flavour, but thats a minor issue). I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing mini break.
The staff, Sauna and pool. I work all around Ireland and UK. This hotel is very good
No shampoo and body wash in the showers after the Sauna... disappointed with this consits a 4 star hotel.
Bedroom was modern, clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good with hot food freshly cooked. For the price of overnight stay breakfast should be included.

John in the Bar area was excellent. Thank You.
The staff were, very helpful
Nice hotel. Staff are very friendly - the barman especially I think his name was Paddy. Dinner service was quite slow we were waiting almost 30 mins and the restaurant was quiet. Food was good. Rooms were nice but unfortunately we didn’t have any view only that of a wall of the building next door. We booked through Rory’s travel so maybe that’s why we got this room! Breakfast was really nice and again the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Great family stay Rooms are comfortable Value for money
This hotel was a pleasant surprise.. I cannot fault it on anything. The food was scrumptious, especially the hot breakfast served to the table and the fresh fruit salad. We ate dinner twice and that was lovely too. I did not meet one staff member who was not friendly, helpful and courteous. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and the gym has everything you need for a workout. I will recommend 👌
I was very pleased with my stay here, everything was good. Great Food, great staff, great swimming pool, very comfortable room and good air con which was very handy during the Heatwave!
Excellent hotel. Room was comfort and plenty of space Food was excellent and the young staff there were absolutely fantastic, so friendly and chatty. Check in and out was very efficient and helpful . The pool and sauna area were very well kept and immaculte clean
The Swift process thru Reception. Lovely room.Comfortable beds. Great Shower. Leisure Centre was so good. We had food in the Bar and it was really good quality tasty and value for money. The staff were attentive helpful and very kind.
I could not possibly complain about anything. We just loved it.
Very plesant stay.very nice staff !
Good & friendly service and a lovely room with comfortable bed.
very nice and had everything you needed!
my parents shower in room 208 was stuck on the hottest water setting
Easy to get to Staff fabulous Lovely chocolates left and a lovely card for our anniversary
Possibly more parking but I think there was a wedding on so that would explain
Location worked perfect
Over priced for the standard of hotel
I was so impressed by this hotel absolutely beautiful building & surrounding gardens. Welcoming staff. I need to go back soon to try food & leisure facilities. Breakfast was also really good.
After one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had in a long time and we had already checked out our car decided to breakdown in the car park, blocking the exit. The staff were so helpful in moving the car (and surprisingly knowledgeable re diagnosing the problem!) and couldn’t have looked after us and our very bored children better, especially as AA delays left us in limbo for most of the day. Above and beyond. Special thanks to Lily for making sure we were looked after so well.
The Anner Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Thurles, with the centre of town 5 minutes away by car and within walking distance for some. The hotel is clean and comfy, if a tad dated in parts. The rooms are good, with comfy beds and good amenities, and provide a good night's sleep. We managed to get an excellent deal for the night, including breakfast and a main meal at Ed's Bar & Bistro. The meal was delicious: starters, main, and dessert. The only dampener was the lack of cleanliness on the tables and chairs in the bar and bistro (noticed during lunch too). This is a pity as it's easy enough to stay on top of. Otherwise, the service is good and personable, making us feel at home. The hotel is quiet enough in places, with a few good areas for conversation, such as in the main lobby by the reception.
Everything about the Anner Hotel was superb. The staff, however, were the absolute high point. Every single staff member was cheerful, extremely helpful and approachable. Food was delicious, both dinner in the bistro and breakfast next morning. The room was spot on , comfortable, clean and really well supplied with Handmade Soap Company products. I would go to Thurles again just to stay there. Thank you all.
What a smashing Hotel. We stayed for one night on the 18th July.we enjoyed every minute of our stay.Starting with the friendliest Receptionist..alovely modern bedroom ..lovely outdoor seating area..also bar staff were naturally friendly and so helpful.Food was very good, night porters very accommodating. Also next day we were able to sit out in the lovely private gardens there. I just wish we could have stayed longer .Thank you everyone. Teresa Lannon
Amazing stay, we enjoyed a lovely two course dinner & beautiful breakfast
Our room was nice with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The aircon worked great in the room. The breakfast was lovely, the hot food is served to order which was great. All staff we dealt with were lovely and very accommodating.
Grear food and fantastic staff
Excellent,staff were fabulous,food was gorgeous
A lovely hotel - great to have access to the pool facilities too
We had a lovely time in the Anner Hotel. Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Access to the pool was brilliant and we made full use of the facilities especially the steam room. We decided to eat in the hotel and were more than pleasantly surprised how good the food was but also the high level of very friendliness and efficiency of the staff who served us. We had been to the hotel before for conferences but had never stayed overnight. We will do this again.
From start to finish of our stay, the Anner Hotel was a lovely experience. What stood out more than anything else were the staff - everyone was very helpful and pleasant. Well done.
Stayed here 3 nights for a family christening room was perfect and spotlessly clean. staff were very friendly and helpful. food was exceptional so tasty with big portion sizes, plenty of choice and very accommodating with various breakfast options. Would recommend a stay in this hotel without a doubt.
Stayed at the Annar.super spot. Food is gorgeous. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay as fab as it was. Bar manager John made sure that we were well accommodated and looked after. Looking forward to our return.
Everything was very good - the food was excellent and staff were exceptionally friendly. The room was very comfortable . I really enjoyed me stay here.
Nothing!
I was impressed with food menu. Pizza perfect the beautiful Brie left me down a little as too much cheese for a portion and would loved a recurrent jelly with three pieces. The staff at reception great. The bar staff could do with a little training on raising the bar. They are good but a little finess would make the hotel exceptional.
Need to finesse bar staff and review you food just a little less can be more and better profit margin. Health option of salad not available warm day
Great hotel very friendly, bar staff make it feel like it's your local, good food and nice creamy pints of Guinness
Didn't partake in breakfast
The lift very slow!
