Nice location right in the middle of the town. A mighty breakfast included in our stay fresh & plenty of it . Kids portions where massive also . Lovely food and very friendly staff.
Was abit noisy couldn't open the window as there was to much going on outside with cars & people but that was expected & there was ear plugs available in the room. There was a fan in the room so that saved the day too thank god. No lift In the hotel so had to carry everything but look thats only a minor thing.
Central Location. Bed very comfortable.
Staff poor. Felt like we were interrupting a private conversation on arrival and departure between multiple staff sat chatting at reception. Didn't seem to want to deal with us. Staff in bar/restaurant much more friendly. Carpet in hotel giving a very musty smell, particularly on the landing
It was a beautiful hotel, and the girl at the front desk was so kind and helpful. (Kira? Kiera?)
No elevator, which made hauling luggage quite a burden
Brilliant location, very clean comfortable, newly renovated room. Breakfast was amazing & staff were great & very helpful
Ciara on reception was so nice & a credit to the hotel.
Getting out of there
Cold room, no heating...bathroom needs updating. Old fashioned.
No breakfast. Location central to everything and easy parking
De ligging midden in het dorp is fantastisch. Alle winkels in de directe omgeving
De trappen lopen, geen lift
Great breakfast and provided headphones to help deal with the disco. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.
Disco was a bit loud. It was hard to get in after hours. We had to wait until somebody opened the doors, a fob/key card method of opening the main door after hours would not go astray.
Comfy bed, nice receptionist.
Less noise from the disco. Breakfast venue in a pub environment isn’t the best.
Location, food
Carpets in the bedroom was horrible and made me uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. Stairs are lethal as the are uneven and unusually large steps
The staff nice & friendly
Shower did not work in my room 217
Excelente localização
Gostei de tudo
Iconic hotel in the heart of Thurles. Good parking at rear. Nicely done rooms. Has access to nearby gym and pool facilities.
Breakfast doesn’t include a buffet part which would be nice.
room spotless, comfy beds. lovely selection of food for breakfast.
I loved the location the staff were friendly the food was lovely and was served promptly had both dinner and Breakfast there.I stayed for one night .
The room was a bit small and dated but was very clean and I would have no hesitation about booking again .
Ruime kamer. Lekker ontbijt
Er was veel geluidshinder van een koeling of afzuiginstallatie.
Nice hotel nice room but room 105 had a noisey fan outside the window so they changed me for another night .nice staff .didn't have breakfast. Location and free car park excellent.
Room was gorgeous, very modern and comfortable!
Nothing
The history
View from our room
The place, the food and the free parking for the guest.
We could hear the noise of machinery in the room; we assumed it was coming from the kitchen or the boiler. Also, the shower didn't work—it was only possible to take a bath. It was a disappointment.
The room was very comfortable as was the bed. Staff were helpful. We dined there on three evenings, the menu was good and the portions generous . Ample safe parking. Everything very clean.
The breakfast menu is extensive and again generous but could be varied to include a lighter option such as fresh fruit salad, porridge , yoghurt, cheese etc for those who don't want to eat a cooked dish.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and staff...the décor is lovely and it's a very cosy relaxing atmosphere. The food was amazing (always good when you can see into the kitchen from the dining area), and it's in the heart of the town.. we're on business but I'll be back with the wife for a relaxing weekend Very soon
Lovely room but did not get walk in shower as requested. Shower and bath were needing some attention. We did bring this to the attention of staff when we left.
All good
Location and the place was perfect
Conveniently located by near the train station. Hotel staff very friendly. Request an east facing room in the summer to avoid the afternoon heat. There is no lift. Sadly, our shower knob was held together with electric tape.
Went on a Sunday late afternoon for a meal. Staff were polite enough, but definitely not interested in providing a proper service. Two roast turkey dinners were so-so, soggy vegetables, lukewarm meat. Roast beef was tough, tough to the point of being inedible. Chicken gougons were cheap frozen ones & tasteless. No one came to check if we were OK for everything. In fact staff deliberately ignored us on the pretext of being busy. But the place was half empty. A man, maybe a manager in a suit, was very surprised to hear our assessment of the food, but did nothing. Most disappointing
Fantastic location, nice bar and outdoor seating area. Room was small but bed was comfy, bathroom roomy and everything spotless.
A small fridge in the room would be very welcome. When we arrived back at night about midnight, hotel and bar were both closed, we could see staff cleaning up inside but took a good few minutes for anyone to acknowledge or react to us ringing the bell. We were never told at check in what the policy for returning late at night was so expected the door to he open or a 24 hour porter to be available, would be good to have this mentioned and clarified at check in. Reception was very rarely staffed and took a long time to track down a member of staff to assist as bar was extremely busy and meant having to queue to get to ask anyone for assistance at reception, including checkin.
Breakfast menu was very good Food was delicious Staff excellent
Only downfall with hotel was that there was no lift
We booked for 1 night & were delighted to get a small double room. Which was lovely very clean & bright. The receptionist Katie was extremely helpful courteous & friendly. It ended there. We had a drink outside around 10.45pm as it was a beautiful warm evening, we were told that they were locking the front door, just ring the bell & we would be let in. ( that was understandable as the festival was ending & they would be finishing up for the night) We rang the bell & waited for 15 minutes before anyone answered. ( also happened to other residents) My hubby asked could he get a drink & take to our room he was told No as there was other residents in the bar & they had already refused them. The next morning at 8.50 am we decided we would take a quick stroll before breakfast , only to find the front door locked AGAIN (also another couple wanted to go outside) there was noone in reception or ant staff around. A tall loud male member of staff eventually came & opened the door my husband takes medication in the morning & purchased a coffee on the street. We returned to have breakfast, we were seated & given menus my hubby went to the toilet leaving the paper coffee cup on the table. A waiter or maybe a manager came over & very rudely in a loud voice said that the cup had to go as it came from another business , he said he would put it in one of their own cups, I was embarrassed as my hubby just wanted to put it into the bin. Whilst waiting to order this rude individual at the counter was discussing , staff kitchen members & was not very nice in what he was saying. This is a lengthy review as other residents were disgusted at his behaviour , I dont know if he is a manager or supervisor, but he needs to go & learn some decorum on how he presents himself & how he represents the hotel. We definitely will never stay here again , I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The young girls & receptionist Katie were absolute gems
All good and central to everything
Nothing
The hotel was nice enough, however, our sleep was disturbed at seven in the morning. They had workers drilling holes in the wall right outside our room. When I spoke to the workers outside they didn’t seem to care. The female worker inside smirked and seemed to think it was funny. The manager didn’t seem to know that any work was going on. He was slightly apologetic, but the feeling all in all is that they did not care we were woke up. This place is also difficult to get into. They do not have a key card entry, and two times now we have been locked in or locked out. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone on vacation.
the lady at reception was lovely upon arrival and food in the restaurant was nice.
waiting staff could be a bit more friendlier, a smile costs nothing. As a person with coeliac disease, i asked in relation to my needs, and all i received was yes we can do that. I wasnt told in what way or how, which dishes etc. Not the most friendly of girls which people normally expect in a hotel / restaurant. breakfast doesnt start till 8am, i was leaving at 7.30 so unable to get anything to eat.
Room and bed very clean and comfortable
No complaints
Lovely coffee this morning. Gary, an absolute gentleman to chat to.
A beautiful traditional hotel with a warm and friendly atmosphere and excellent staff.
Lovelt friensly staff
No lift . Loud music thumping until 1am. They provide ear plugs, but would you hear fire alarm?
Excellent location, very clean, good food
Location, old style feel. Plenty of tea/ coffee in room, comfy bed
With no breakfast included in price it was expensive for one night.
Old fashioned hotel with helpful staff.
No socket to charge my toothbrush.
Breakfast was excellent.
Everything was top class
The receptionist was fab. Room was clean and comfortable.
A barman was rude and tge noise from the nightclub was so loud
Not a bad spot at all and the food in Cusacks bar is really really good. Room was very clean, a nice touch to be left a large bottle of water. The shower was a bit tricky but the water pressure was awesome. The one thing that dragged down the whole experience was the incredibly rude and condescending receptionist. Really awful person to have at the front desk. The restaurant staff were lovely though.
Breakjfast ok
Abscend of a lift.as we were both in our eightys also no walk in shower room very small for 2 people also a step in it.
Good location and clean.
Breakfast was excellent cooked to order. Location great and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Toilet very hard to flush.
Location excellent for shopping resturants.
The toilet didnt work well. Lack off space in bedroom a step in bedroom. Breakfast no cereal for 2 days, no Tabasco, cold toast.
Staff really helpful. Great breakfast… really tasty.
No lift.
Excellent location and friendly staff
Friendly staff, great location
The room was tiny and the walls were stained. There was no lift and a step down from the bedroom towards the door. Very unsuitable for elderly or anyone with mobility issues. There was no way to adjust the heat in the room. For the price it is absolutely the worst value for money I've found in Ireland.
Hotel is in a great location, can walk everywhere and parking is convenient. Room was quaint, clean with a big bathroom. Good water pressure and the breakfast was good with lots of variety.
Amazing hotel! The dance floor area and outdoor area was incredible. Would be higher if the bathroom disco light was working but overall an amazing experience!
The rooms were clean.
It was difficult to get our luggage to our rooms through narrow hallways and up two flights of stairs. This property needs an elevator. Additionally it was extremely loud. The noise from the bar below kept us awake all night. Then a drunken reveler came down our hallway trying to get into every room. Rattling the doors all the way down the hallway trying to get in. It was upsetting. We were traveling with our children who had been put in a room on a different floor on the opposite side of the hotel. It was unsettling. We asked if we could have rooms closer together and they said only if we paid 250 euros additional. When a family makes a reservation together why wouldn’t they be put in rooms next door? On the same floor? Crazy. And then to upsell us for an extravagant fee? Very upsetting. We had to get up early for a flight with no sleep. It was a disappointing stay.
Location was perfect, staff were amazing and the food was devine 10/10.
The hotel was central to everything
Lovely helpful staff beds very comfortable and breakfast was fab
Location
Unfortunately while the location and hotel room were ok, the noise was absolutely terrible until after 2.00 am so I wouldn’t want to stay again
The staff team were fantastic
Bedroom stains. Bath mat was gross. Needs new carpet
Convenient to everything
Car park bit small
Stayed here before in their suite. I love what they did with the space by making it a living room and bedroom. Very unique. Felt like an apartment in the best way. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of pillows and duvets in the cupboard if you want more. The staff are beyond friendly. Very approachable. Lovely to deal with and very welcoming. Car park is also very convenient. Location is central too.
Musky, very off-putting smell in the bathroom both times I’ve stayed. Just surprised housekeeping haven’t done something about it or maybe haven’t noticed. Though I love their suite and what they’ve done with the space, it’s very basic for the money they charge. Not even a coffee machine. Television only provides basic channels which is a bit annoying for a suite. No access to Netflix or YouTube like other country hotels I have stayed in. Surrounding area doesn’t offer much for dining outside of takeaways, so you’re sorta stuck dining at Cusack’s which isn’t the best for food though, but again, staff are lovely.
The location was perfect
The bed was 2 singles put together. There was a delivery truck outside my window at 7.30 in the morning.
