Location was excellent and the hotel was clean and tidy with decent size rooms for Japanese standards. Rooms were well appointed and the staff professional and friendly

Nothing to dislike

Convenient to metro & bus stops to get to various sights - walking distance to some as well.

Just a little noisy at some times during the night - on a fairly busy street but mostly fine.

La ubicación era increíble! Super cerca de todo, y para ir a visitar lo más alejado, tenías el bus en la esquina. El hotel es precioso, muy actual, bonito. El personal super amable. Muy grata la experiencia

Hotel moderno, elegante e pulitissimo, in una posizione eccellente per soggiornare a Kyoto: vicino alla stazione di Sanjo, a pochi passi dalle vie dello shopping e molto ben collegato con i mezzi pubblici. Il personale è stato davvero impeccabile, sempre disponibile e molto professionale. La camera aveva dimensioni nella media giapponese, ma con un bagno più ampio del solito e una doccia davvero spaziosa. Ottima anche la dotazione di comfort e accessori, compreso un vero armadio, cosa non così scontata negli hotel in Giappone. La colazione a buffet è molto varia e di ottimo livello. Io e mia figlia di 10 anni abbiamo particolarmente apprezzato i mini hamburger preparati al momento. La parte dolce è davvero limitata, ma viene ampiamente compensata dalla squisita boulangerie in stile francese che si trova praticamente accanto all’ingresso dell’hotel, nello stesso edificio. Molto comoda anche la lavanderia self-service al terzo piano. Nel complesso, ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.

This is my favorite hotel in Kyoto, normally: great location, decent rooms and flexible staff. Breakfast is also adequate andbthenprice is great but…

This time the staff, possibly a new recruit, was incredibly slow at check-in. Also I arrived 15 minutes before the official check/in time and he insisted that Ibwait until 3 pm. In past reviews I applauded the hotel for their flexibility. A flexible attitude is the essence of good hotel managemnt. I hope this was just an incident and that the next time this does not recur

It’s always a pleasure to stay at The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Sanjo. For more than 14 years, it has always been my go-to place to stay in Kyoto.

Although the hotel is rated as 4-star, the facilities are very dated and definitely do not feel up to a 4-star standard. The room and overall facilities felt more like a 3-star hotel. Even the tap in my room was loose and clearly needed maintenance. A refurbishment is definitely needed.

The hotel is absolutely stunning. Right at Kyoto’s shopping street, super chill place, full of amenities, large rooms (especially after Tokyo) and great, super helpful staff. Would definitely visit again!

The entire experience was great! The hotel has a modern contemporary design and decor, the staff was very pleasant and welcoming throughout, breakfast was excellent and the location was busy but perfect for our stay.

I would have like to have a slightly larger more comfortable sofa and a better mini fridge but everything else was great!

Located centrally and my room was a suite room size was 48 sq m with good breakfast.

Location very central

河原町三条と言う立地と美味しい朝食。朝食会場のスタッフの働きぶりは好感が持てた。

普段なら充分とは思うが30度以上の京都、ペット水が1本、製氷機は(5F,8Fに)あると書いてあったが給水機もあるのかな?

チェックイン、アウトのフロント対応がとても良かったです。 朝食会場のスタッフも対応よかった。 朝、廊下を歩いていると外国人清掃スタッフに出会い、気持ちのいい挨拶をしてくれて良かったです。

エアコン入れて寝たが、布団が思ったより暑かったです。もう少し薄い掛け布団が良かったです。

We stayed in Superior twin room, 26 sqm, which was nice and spacious. Bathroom was a bit small. Location is perfect, close to the metro and lots of shops and restaurants, and also close to the river.

The location is perfect. Easy access to food, tourism site and subway. The room is big and clean.

The breakfest could be better with that pricing. I'll get breakfest outside the hotel if I stayed in this place again.

It was central to everything and shopping choices where close by. The station was also close by so was able to walk there and back in under 10mins.

Nothing i loved Kyoto it was reasonably priced lots of things to do and plenty of eating choices as well as shopping.

Location- near shopping streets- pontocho alley, walkable to Gion and 2 minutes to subway. It was super clean- had an amazing bakery downstairs. Staff were very helpful. AC & shower were very strong. Two sets of laundry facilities & vending machines.

Lifts were slow at busy times. Dryer was not great but other than this an amazing place to stay.

Wir hatten ein Deluxe Superior Zimmer. Das Zimmer war überraschend gross und sehr modern eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer war hervorragend ausgestattet. Für uns sehr praktisch waren die funktionierenden Waschmaschinen und Trockner für 400Yen bzw. 100Yen. Kostenloses Eis gab es auch noch. Das Frühstücksbuffet war abwechslungsreich und bot für unterschiedliche Nationalitäten eine gute Auswahl. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Wer mit einem Auto anreist muss auf naheliegende Parkmöglichkeiten ausweichen. Das nahe Parkhaus kostete uns 2000Yen pro Tag.

Stanza molto comoda, ben climatizzata, con una doccia enorme e il letto comodissimo. Posizione eccellente, in una zona molto frequentata e a poca distanza da gran parte dei siti di interesse storico e culturale. Colazione eccellente.

Excellent location - 5 mins away from Sanjo station and Sanjo shopping street, with lots of large department stores (i.e. Loft, BAL) and restaurants within walking distance. Quite close to Gion and Yasaka Shrine as well. The staff were very helpful and there are maps in the lobby. Overall very clean, the shower and bathroom facilities are quite new and good to use!

Great location

Felt more like a business hotel

The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is centrally located with plenty of restaurants, shops, convenience stores, and other businesses within walking distance, making it very easy to explore the area. Unfortunately, that was where the positives ended for us. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. As a husband and wife, we were assigned separate single beds instead of one larger bed. The mattresses were so firm that several of us woke up with back spasms, muscle aches, and poor sleep. We found ourselves spending most of our days outside because the room simply was not comfortable to relax in. Another disappointment was the lack of flexibility regarding room upgrades. I asked multiple times if I could pay to upgrade to a larger room. I was literally telling the staff, “Take my money, I just want a bigger room.” However, I was repeatedly told no. The explanation was that rooms were assigned based on the number of guests, and larger rooms were being reserved for larger families. Even though I was willing to pay the difference, I was told they were at capacity and no upgrade was possible. This was very different from my experiences at many Western hotels, where, if a larger room is available and a guest is willing to pay, an upgrade is often accommodated. The lack of flexibility was disappointing. The room’s bathroom was another issue. The toilet had a persistent unpleasant odor throughout our stay. It was obvious that the bidet and toilet had not been thoroughly maintained or deep cleaned. Every day, the smell returned, making the bathroom unpleasant to use and giving the impression that cleanliness was not a priority. The buffet breakfast was also a major disappointment. The dining area felt outdated, run down, and not particularly clean. The food quality was below expectations, with some of the vegetables appearing old and browned. Overall, the buffet did not feel fresh, appetizing, or well maintained. While the hotel’s location is excellent, it was not enough to make up for the uncomfortable beds, the bathroom cleanliness issues, the disappointing breakfast, and the inflexible customer service. I would only recommend staying here if location is your absolute top priority and you are willing to compromise on comfort, cleanliness, and the overall guest experience.

De todos os que fiquei era um dos maiores quartos de hotel, (ainda não muito grande) porém bem maior do que os quartos médios 4 estrelas pelo Japão.

God frokost, gratis vannflasker, veldig hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening. Det hadde også vaskemaskiner og dette var en lifesaver siden det er veldig varmt og vi svetter mye. Det blir mye klesskift så det var deilig å kunne endelig ha anledning å vaske klær. Hotellet ligger også i midten av alle servedigheter. Det tar liten tid å gå til de ulike serverdighetene. Det var også svært rent og fint på hotellet. Ville ha bodd her igjen.

Den religiøse fløytemusikken… kanskje det er bare nå pga av sommerfestivalene. Jeg er lydsensitiv og det var nok at jeg hørte den alle andre plasser i Kyoto markedet, kunne vært rolig/ naturmusikk på hotellet for å gitt den en mer zen-vibe.

Room was much smaller than the photo and chairs very uncomfortable . As we were there for 7 nights we did notice, wouldn’t matter if only an overnight stay.
