Very tiny room, too small for a bicycle! hahaha Being charged for 2 rounds of tea when asking for a teapot refill!

Good sized room, nice linens and aircon. Staff were informal and friendly. Food was quite good.

Stayed in room 6 - website had said there was a desk but only two chest of drawers and no chairs at all. I had wanted to do some work so had to sit in the bar area which was a little noisy.

Room very nice,, bar area friendly with good beverage choices, evening meal very good, I did not try the breakfast.

Location is in the centre of Melbourne, free parking if staying at the pub. Staff friendly and helpful, good selection of drinks 🍸 Our room was a cosy double and it was a good size. Bed was super comfy and overall the room was spotless. Bathroom was good and shower was fab!

Great location - very comfortable room (in a separate property just across the road), excellent bar and restaurant - good breakfast and convenient parking. We expected ordinary pub accommodation - it was so much more!

The best pub/hotel you could hope to wish for. The room, food and the village were perfect. I didn’t realise Melbourne and Derbyshire was so beautiful. A special mention to Will the manager who couldn’t do enough for you.

Lovely vibe. Busy and lovely people

Restaurant service wasn’t great Wasn’t told dishes not available until we ordered. Fizz also not available but we were charged. Fellow hotel guests arrived early morning, shouting and making a racket. No house rules or anyone to manage.

Wow the price I was shocked and pleasantly surprised we booked an extra nights stay because we liked it that much we ended staying 3 nights. The bed was very comfortable and our room had everything we needed and it also has Aircon. Food at the pub restaurant was so good, the quality was great and all very tasty - we had a steak and chicken supreme for our mains. Staff very polite and helpful throughout and really professional. tbh the whole village was friendly. Nice walks and lots of bars, restaurants and pubs to visit. Breakfast menu was actually spectacular and the food even better you could have anything you wanted really accommodating. Would defo come back here

Our room was very compact and incredibly warm, appreciate the high temperatures we’ve had but it was difficult to even get a breeze as there was only one opening window.

Nice room if a little on the small side, set across the road from the main pub building in a converted house.

It was quite noisy with doors slamming but other than that, no issues & had a comfortable stay.

Stairway up to rooms could do with a re-furnish. Room a little dark in the roof although recently upgraded

Room was lovely and across from the road from the main pub area so very quiet. Staff were fantastic and breakfast in the morning was great too.

The room was unbelievably warm - although a hot day, it felt like double the outside temp in the room with little to no fresh air flowing through. Not sure if the heating had come on during the day, but couldn't figure out why the room was so hot.

Lovely stay . A small delightful room very clean. Great location for my visit. Breakfast was amazing 😍 Would definitely stay again.

Old building means some of the rooms are a little small and dark (although well refurbished recently)

Lovely pub with a really nice restaurant. Room very clean and comfortable. Really nice little village location. Staff all brilliant. Car park free and plenty of spaces.

Nice room, despite being in a pub it was quiet, breakfast nice although expensive.

We were charged £40 yo check in an hour early. Which seemed excessive.

The location was good and the bar area had a good buzz about it. Breakfast was ok but sort of deconstructed with tomatoes served separately and my eggs on toast…well not on the toast which was served dry requiring buttering. My wife’s scrambled eggs were a bit dry. The coffee seemed a bit weak.

The room…supposedly a double had no room for cases and was so small that one of us had to lay on the bed so that the other could go to the very small and cramped bathroom. Should not be sold as a double room! No real apology from the staff, just a shrug and an ‘Oh dear’. It’s a shame as Melbourne is lovely. If booking please checkout the room size.

We loved everything about it! The staff were super helpful, absolutely nothing was too much. The food was incredible! The room was lovely, clean, and super comfortable with beautiful decor. There was nothing to not like! We will definitely stay again.

No hot water and no available wi fi… the WiFi suggested in the guide book wasn’t available and no code was given to me to connect. Contacted the property directly about the issues, acknowledged the message but no response.

The only thing which didn't work as well as it should was the breakfast. Some elements felt they were straight out a tin/freezer and no-one likes an underdone sausage.

The location was great, being able to park at the location was a bonus. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean, from the bar to our room. We dined for our evening meal here and the menu has something for everyone. Our meal were lovely.

Unfortunately we found the mattress to be too soft for us, would have liked some curtains to keep out the light as the blinds did not do this so the room was lit up all night. If your a light sleeper, the road noise maybe too much for you. Although not too much traffic around when we visited. Would have liked a small tub chair to relax in, instead of sitting on the bed.

Pleasant small village location, nicely decorated rooms, very pleasant and helpfull staff, and food was really nice. Bed was super comfortable and as a lone traveller I felt very safe and cosy there.Good location for travelling to a meeting the following day, and way better than staying in a "corporate" hotel. Room quite small (I had a small double) and if there was 2 of us we may have struggled a bit, but was perfect for me on my own.

The corridors were wooden floored, so quite noisy when neighbouring rooms were coming and going during the evening. My sink pkug wouldn't open once closed on the morning I departed, so had to clean my teeth in the shower! Water pressure in the shower was quite poor - only just useable. Small setbacks but overall a very pleasant stay. The bedside lamps had very low voltage lamps, and it was very dark without main lights which I had to get out of bed to switch off! - just a little more light from the lamps would be good.

It was comfy and spotless. The staff were also great.

The room was only made up for one guest even though we paid and booked for 2, so only 1 towel etc, the plugs were a bit dodgy and wouldn't always work when trying to use the kettle etc, the noise was annoying and through the night you kept hearing the saniflow system going so it wasn't as relaxing as we had hoped.

Room clean and tastefully decorated but very cosy. Breakfast good but service could have been slightly quicker but was very cheerful Dinner the night before was also very good.

The room was lovely. The staff were delightful. The breakfasts and the evening meal were tasty; ample and well presented. Free car parking and an ideal location.

The cost of bar drinks were a bit steep and the menu is priced a wee bit high. The shower was not particularly hot. The heating in the room was hit/miss. The sash windows rattle in the wind. No bedside lamps. Ceiling spotlights are too bright. Some music noise from 2am to 3am one night.

My room was quite noisy in the evening but quietened down after 11pm. Woke up at 7am to a noisy beer delivery right outside my window.

Lovely comfortable bed

Shower went from scolding hot to freezing cold constantly as you had your shower. The lower part of shower was missing which made the bathroom floor really wet. Very busy bar where you check in, making you have to wait whilst they served customers. We had two rooms and the other room had the same problem with their shower.

Stayed here many times now while visiting family. Always a friendly welcome, everything excellent, suits us perfectly.

Lovely large room. Super king size bed, which was very comfortable. Overall, very clean, quiet and relaxing. Food was very good, breakfast was fresh and very generous.

Bar area was very busy and noisy, however, it was a Saturday afternoon/evening and good to see that custom was thriving.
