The rooms are dated. The bathtubs need to be replaced. The enamel was peeling on all of the tubs. It was not cleaned well.

Spacious room. Good bedding. Bay front. Good A/C. Pool on the property with pool bar.

Room service is upon request only. Only they will change towels and make bed if requested.

The WiFi was spotty and didn’t know that the fitness was not included in the cost until we got there. It costs extra.

The location was perfect, and the staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it would have been nice to have nightly entertainment on the property. Additionally, during staff breaks at the café, service could be slow at times. Having additional staff available to step in during those periods would help ensure uninterrupted service for guests.

The management and staff at this resort could do much, much better. We had booked two rooms and wanted to check in at 1:30 PM. Neither room was ready yet and would not be ready until 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, we went back to the extremely slow reception. The reception staff informed us that both rooms were *still* not ready. What a disgrace! Eventually, we were able to enter our rooms around 4:30 PM, 3 hours after we had arrived and half an hour late according to their own schedule. Additionally, we received no explanation regarding breakfast times, locations, or facilities... Furthermore, there was a loud noise coming from the ventilation in one of the rooms. This was only properly resolved a day later by simply turning off the fan. In other words, the problem has not been solved. Another example of poor management is that, in one of the rooms, the cleaning staff thought we had to check out a day before check-out. They stood in our room twice to ask if we were finally going to check out, even though we had clearly indicated that we would not be checking out until the next day. To make matters worse, our access cards was also blocked, and we couldn't even get into our room. We went back to the slow-working reception and waited for over fifteen minutes, during which only one of our access cards was unblocked. The other cards remained blocked, and we were initially sent away again without explanation or apology. Upon inquiry, the receptionist said that blocking happens more often if the card is held near a phone, but the card was never kept near a phone. It is strange, however, that all three cards were suddenly blocked while one card never left the room and was never near a phone. This, combined with everything that happened that day, was simply a lie. To this day, we still have not received an apology from the receptionist or from the staff who entered our rooms uninvited. We made a comment about this during check-out, but nothing was done about it by the staff.

In 2 days we stayed there we did not get a single smile. All staff members were irritated and not friendly. We travel a lot and I feel like their attitude was just outrageous. Im talking about eye rolling receptionists, housekeeping which was annoyed we were pointing out hair on the floor. Beach closing at 6pm before sunset. Slow restaurant service. Cherry on top was the "security guard " lady who is in charge of the ordering taxi. She would not order the taxi until 7 of us stood outside and would let vans leave with one person. It took us 90 min to leave and then she puts an old couple in our taxi just to mess with us fully understanding that our 7piece luggage will not fit together with theirs. Or if she didn't it was wrong on the next level. Then she told the driver to take us to airport when she knew we are going to cruise terminal. You dont need this stress and frustration on vacation.

⸻ I had an excellent experience with room service—the burger and fish sandwich were both outstanding. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and delivered right on time. The staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and very professional. A special thank you to the manager Mr. Marcel for the quick response and perfect timing. Your attention to detail truly made the experience seamless and enjoyable. I also want to express my gratitude for the thoughtful surprise prepared for my sister—the greeting card and décor were a beautiful touch and made our stay even more special. Thank you all for going above and beyond. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning!

This is our 3rd time in Sint Maarten. This year we stayed 5 weeks . As our trip is coming to an end I would like to acknowledge the Simpson Bay resort for the excellent service, delicious food , clean resort, safe environment we enjoyed for over a month. A special thanks to the general manager Marcel Javois for all his hospitality and support which brings us back year after year . This is a large resort with 100’s of employees and guests . Marcel keep this operation running smoothly and efficiently while making an effort to know the names of the guests and treating everyone with kindness and respect. He wants you to feel like this is your second home and for us he achieved this goal. Can’t wait to return in 2027.

My family and I stay at this property every year and we love it. But I want to remark on a particular experience that I had this past January 2026. We were scheduled to fly home on the day that the Caribbean airspace was closed because of the US invasion of Venezuela. We were supposed to check out that morning, in fact. Early that morning we were notified that our flights were canceled and there was no information as to why. So picture the scene: 50 confused travelers crowding the lobby, who all found out that the flights were canceled at the same time, and who all suddenly needed to see if it would be possible to stay an extra night. This was complete chaos! But there was one person who remained calm and who took care of me and countless others who were stranded in this situation; her name is Aniek Richardson. Aniek ensured that every guest who had been displaced had the opportunity to be rebooked, and doing so, kept an untold number of vacationers sane as they waited to hear the news of what would happen. I myself, was lucky. I was able to leave the island the next evening and return to work on Monday. Because of Aniek, I was able to stay another night at the property that I know and love, and plan for the journey ahead. I am truly grateful, and wherever she is, I hope she reads this and knows that she made a difference.

for the fifth time in the resort but now disappointing rooms poorly or not cleaned even after several requests one evening blaring noise across the bay from a film that was being shown staff not friendly in short absolutely not 5 star level unfortunately the last time

Great location, sister property to Simpson Bay resort and Marina. Right on the bay, gorgeous pool and bay access to clear blue waters as far as you can see. Great swim up bar where Minera is absolutely the best!! Anything you can imagine she can whip it up with her blender and mixed drinks! Drink specials daily and happy hour 2 for one everyday 3-5. Great food, reasonable prices and paradise!!

Ménage fait une seule fois pendant notre séjour mais ce n'est pas pour nous un grand irritant.

Le très grand lit, la très jolie vue, la terrasse avec chaises longues confortables, la taille de l’appartement.

Le salon et la salle de bains sont vieillots ( la douche est dans la baignoire). Il manque un lave-linge mais ceci était précisé dans l’annonce.

My wife and I spent one night at the Villas resort. The resort and rooms are a bit dated and, while our room overlooked the bay, the beach area for the resort was too small for the size of the resort and not that close to many of the rooms in the hotel. The resort is within walking distance of some good restaurants, but there are significantly better places to stay on the island.

Convenient location for numerous dining and drinking options within walking distance. The grounds are well kept. The rooms are clean and comfortable, outfitted with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We cooked breakfast in the room everyday and enjoyed in on our patio looking over the bay. What really shines hear is the staff. They are friendly and helpful, even entertaining at the swim up and beach bars. We can't wait to come back again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a private Terrace. The set up of the rooms was great as there is so much space and privacy. You can close the bedroom doors and others can use the sink area and then there was another door for the toilet/shower. You could also close the door to your bedroom & bathroom with a common living room/kitchen. The private terrace was unbelievable and is so worth the extra money (which wasn't a lot). There are just limited rooms available with the private terrace. The private terrace had 4 lounge chairs, a table, a bar with a TV, hot tub and a grill and it is just for your room. The staff attitude at the resort was mixed. A lot of staff seemed really annoyed and unhappy, which was so different than our experience on the island. Everyone else outside of the resort was really nice, happy and wanting to help us. I had to pay $6 to use the gym per day, which wasn't bad, but felt like it should have been included. The breakfast buffet food was terrible. We received 2 free breakfast buffets and ended up not even using them after the first day. The only place we ate at the resort was the beach bar, which was good - bar food, which is what you would expect. Overall you cannot beat the space and accomodations at the villas and I would return for that alone.

The resort was excellent. The check in guy was very helpful, the compound is very friendly, clean and comfortable. My birthday was greatly celebrated. I will definitely be visiting in the future.

This property is excellent for the money that you spend. It’s a budget hotel with budget people. The pool bar will get crowded during happy hour and that’s ok. They Don’t over decorate the property and that’s ok. The grass and garden is gorgeous. The view of the ocean is gorgeous. Everything is walking distance. The restaurants are FANTASTIC! The red piano bar is amazing! We loved it. The staff was great! The internet was slow.

US$6 per day fee to use the gym. Convenient parking. Excellent staff, especially beach bar. Same breakfast every day. Great location in Simpson Bay. Room was outdated but everything was in good working order. Rainwater settled on balcony for days following a downpour.

I’ve stayed at the Villa at Simpson Bay several times when visiting St. Martin, and it’s always been a decent and comfortable choice. The staff is very friendly and welcoming at check-in, which I really appreciate. During my most recent stay, it was raining heavily when we arrived, and unfortunately, we discovered that the bathroom ceiling was leaking, with water dripping onto the floor. The room itself was clean and had a beautiful view, which helped balance things out. The next morning, we noticed that a paper shopping bag we had left on the floor was wet, which suggested there may have been another small leak coming from the floor area, though we couldn’t find the exact source. Aside from those issues, the Villa at Simpson Bay remains a comfortable and conveniently located place to stay. It’s close to the airport, restaurants, and nightlife, making it perfect for a quick getaway. With a few maintenance improvements, it could easily be a top-rated spot.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is lovely but some improvements are required. Improvements: The check in and out was painful and disorganized. Long lines with limited staff working, 3x to be exact. The check in and out lines were funnelled into the same line. So it took longer to check out as you were stuck with the people checking in that had way more paper work to fill in. Check out should be quick and efficient as people have planes to catch. The staff seemed overwhelmed and would barely say hi unless encouraged. Other hotels we went to the staff was enthusiastic and welcoming which helps the process. The room above us were ridiculously loud and partied till 5am! Where was security regulating the hotel? This group ruined the stay for many other groups! The pool needs more filtering as lots of stuff floating around in the water which was not appealing. The positives: rooms were large and spacious. The views are fantastic. Majority of the staff were very nice around the resort. I would look for another hotel before staying here again being an average resort with a disappointing stay.

Central location, lots of options in walking distance. Clean resort, friendly staff. Budget friendly compared to other islands

We primarily picked this hotel for two reasons, it's close proximity to the airport (about a 10-15 min taxi ride) and because the price was very reasonable. We were given a ground floor junior suite with kitchenette. The room was plenty large, with an outdoor terrace that overlooked the pool area and the beach. Though, when we were there, the hotel was projecting a movie in the pool area in the evening, making it quite loud as we sat outside. The room itself was a bit dated, and could use a little bit of an upgrade. The bedroom area was clean, though the bathroom could have used more attention. When I lifted the toilet seat, it had dried urine, and a thick layer of dust -- like it had been some time before this was properly scrubbed. For food, we were looking for something quick so we went and picked up some fresh pastries from the cafe in the lobby in the morning. The staff though, seemed a bit distracted working here, and we had to get their attention multiple times as they talked with one another. Overall, it was okay for a night. But if you are looking to spend an extended period of time on St. Martin, I would maybe opt for a different locale.

Simpson is absolutely the best hotel

I have stayed on this property for many years. This property is well maintained, conveniently located, has a very professional, friendly staff and has remained consistent with everything that I previously mentioned. This property is my go to place in Sint Maarten.

Early check in and late Check out we're honored, wine amenity was also honored along with two small bottles of water, room was clean clean comfortable, tv in bedroom was a good size, we had no complaints about that, tv in the living room was small in comparison. Wi-Fi was just adequate, but not fast enough for gaming and not always fast enough for streaming on a device. TV’s were not compatible with fire stick or PlayStation. Sign in to the Wi-Fi made this not possible. So streaming services couldn’t be used. Pool was heated and large, staff very friendly. We are members and have been coming for many years.

I cannot say enough about villas at Simpson Bay. The staff were wonderful. Especially Mailin at the beach and Minnie at the villas pool bar. My room was wonderful with a great view. Walking distance to everything. I am already planning a trip for next September. I met so many wonderful people at the resort.

Heerlijk resort met zeer ruime kamer met 'fully furnished kitchen' waar ook echt alles aanwezig was, incl afwasmachine, koffiezetapparaat, allerlei handige keukenmachines en uitgebreid servies. Het balkon was lekker groot en het uitzicht op de Simpson bay en KimSha beach echt geweldig. Hotel ligt vlakbij dit gezellige strand met dito bar. Het hotelpersoneel was prima en erg vriendelijk, weinig gesproken, maar telkens goed geholpen. Het zwembad met zwembad bar was fijn en niet te druk.

Het appartement is binnen over het algemeen wat gedateerd qua inrichting, maar alles is wel aanwezig. Het wordt niet elke dag schoongemaakt, eerder om de dag (beetje jammer voor een 5-sterren locatie). Ook is de Wifi zeer slecht en langzaam. Je kunt wel bijkopen voor 10G snelheid, maar dat is weer prijzig (30 dollar voor 7 dagen), ook dit had ik niet verwacht bij een 5 sterren locatie. Op zaterdag bij het inchecken was het erg rumoerig en druk in de lobby. De lobby oogt ook wat 'shabby', en minder luxe dan verwacht, waardoor geen fijne eerste indruk.
