Hotel Gerberhaus

The room and hotel were so fun and vintage style and charming-loved the look of everything. We loved the quirkiness and the comfort was good except for the gross cigarette smoke coming in the windows and the non-shower. Great location, right within the walls on the main road. There was parking but of course other guests were parked strangely not leaving enough room so we had to find something on the road. A room fan was thankfully provided on a warm night.

This hotel is hard to rate because we had an unusual experience-we got in late so our key was left for us in the box. That would have been fine except another guest took our key, and we had no way to get into the hotel. We had to call the owner, with phones that weren't supposed to be used to make phone calls in Europe, she was located outside the city, so we had to wait for her to drive in, find the guest who took our key, and then let us into the hotel and our room! It took at least an hour and was very tiresome and such a hassle after traveling all day. The owner was slightly cranky, who wouldn't be, but she should have offered us a free breakfast or a late checkout instead of sort of blaming us for getting in late, which she knew we were going to do. People were smoking and talking loudly in the courtyard after midnight, which was right below our room so we had to close the windows, and it was a very hot night. No air conditioning, but a room fan was provided. There was no shower, just a tub with a shower head that could not be attached to a hook or anything higher up on the wall to make a shower, so it was super awkward and the worst bathing experience we had in Germany. The breakfast was too expensive, around $20 per person, which was normal in Germany, but crazy for a family to afford.

Etwas unflexibel bei Stornierung, wir waren aber auch zu knapp dran. Im Tagescafe etwas überforderte Bedienung.

Wauw, heerlijke plek midden in de stad. Een authentiek kleurrijk dorp langs de Romantische Strasse. Sfeervol hotel met tuin. Het ontbijt was echt heerlijk. Vers en afwisselend.

De deur gaat na 18.00 uur dicht dan moet je met de sleutel achterom. Inchecken na 18.00 uur even overleggen.

Tolles Hotel direkt an der Stadtmauer mit wunderschönen angelegten Garten und gemütlichen Sitzgruppen. Kurzer Weg zum Parkplatz. Viele kleine Deko Details für die Gemütlichkeit. Sehr bequeme Betten.

Zimmer sehr hellhörig, da das Bad vom Nachbarn direkt an grenzt. Und knarrende Dielen im Flur. Aber nur zu bemängeln, wenn Gäste dies zu Schlafenszeiten ( nachts um 1:00 oder morgens um 6:00) benutzen.

The location was awesome and the hotel was very cute in a historic building. There was also a very nice relaxing area in the backyard, which we wish we would have had more time to enjoy!

We had some small communication issues, mostly due to us arriving in the evening and a music festival taking place in Rothenburg during the same days, which probably put additional strain on the hotel staff. However, the staff did their best to compensate for this, and we still had a great stay!

mit vielen Details und hübschen Möbeln eingerichtetes, familiäres Hotel mit Garten, in dem man auch an kühleren Sommerabenden noch geschützt sitzen kann. Sehr nette, persönliche Ansprache. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr vielseitig und eine wahre Augenweide.

Das Himmelbett war zwar sehr einladend, wir hätten uns allerdings bessere Matratzen und Kissen gewünscht.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut, es hat an nichts gemangelt. Die Lage ist top.

Ci è stato chiesto il giorno stesso di arrivare entro le 17, con conseguente modifica al nostro itinerario. La sera l'ingresso è accessibile solo dal retro, non semplice da raggiungere. Questo dettaglio non ci era stato spiegato. Struttura obsoleta e non proporzionata alla cifra richiesta.

Det var i den rolige ende af byen men stadig tæt på alt! Skønt indrettet med hyggeligt at se alle vegne! Så søde ejere!

Internettet var ikke særlig godt og det var lidt besværligt I badet, da der ikke var holder til bruseren. Men ok.

Venligt og imødekommende personale. Hotellet ligger centralt. Hyggelig gårdhave..En tidslomme.Hund er velkommen.

It was very well located, clean, friendly staff.

The shower didn’t work at all. Very little water pressure in the shower, the water that did come out was piping hot. So impossible to shower at all. When we informed the owner she said that they weren’t able to fix it then.

Das Personal war sehr, sehr herzlich und um Hilfe bemüht. Das Frühstück wurde mit sichtbar viel Liebe gezaubert und war auch sehr lecker. Es war ein heißes Wochenende und im Familienzimmer unter dem Dach war es entsprechend schwierig. Es wurden 2 Ventilatoren zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Betten waren sehr gemütlich, wie auch das ganze Zimmer.

Leider war die Duscharmatur kaputt, das kalte Wasser ließ sich nicht aufdrehen. Auch der Fernseher war kaputt. Für den Hinweis wurde sich bedankt und uns wurde die Möglichkeit angeboten, im leeren Nachbarzimmer zu duschen. Auch bekamen wir einen kleinen Preisnachlass.

Inga was lovely and showed us around to see if the rooms would suit us best with the exceptionally warm weather. The beer helped too. 🤣

Tolles Frühstück, toller Service. Lage ausgezeichnet. es gibt einen sehr schönen Hinterhof, der sehr liebevoll gestaltet ist. Die Zimmer haben uns gut gefallen.

Uns hat es unheimlich gut gefallen, da die Atmosphäre im Hotel sehr familiär und ganz besonders herzlich war. Beim Frühstück blieben keine Wünsche offen! Die Lage ist optimal, da wir alles problemlos zu Fuß erreichen konnten. Wir haben uns unendlich wohlgefühlt und werden mit Sicherheit bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Rothenburg wieder hier übernachten.

Es gibt absolut nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hätte. Beim nächsten Mal kommen wir im Sommer, damit wir auch den tollen Garten genießen können.... :-))

In der Dusche waren die Fliesen kaputt,hatte mich geschnitten +Schimmel.Das Himmelbett war so locker,wenn man es berührte ,dachte man es Stürzt gleich ein. Im Frühstücksraum war ein riesen Wasserschaden an der Decke,man dachte das Fachwerk kommt gleich runter. Preis Leistungsverhältnis -10

The apartment is tiny, everything old, it’s like visiting your ancient grandparents who never go out in the real world - depressing, uncomfortable, you just want to leave it as soon as you can. No surfaces to put things: in the shower no place to put your sponge or shower gel, in the hall no place to put the keys or the phone. Breakfast looked gorgeous, but tuned out it was all about presentation: real food quality was mediocre, and food quantity was plain poor. Choices are very limited, coffee was bad. We booked for 2 nights but decided to leave after the first night, it was too uncomfortable and depressing.

This is the Only place I stay when in Rothenburg! I stayed a week last year and fell in love with the staff and the amazing breakfast every morning! You won't be disappointed staying here! See you next trip 🫡🫡

The hotel’s location is right in the heart of the tourist area, making it very convenient for exploring Rothenburg. The place has a very cozy, homey feel, and everything was well maintained and comfortable. Most importantly, the staff and the people managing the hotel were extremely kind, welcoming, and accommodating, which truly made us feel at home.

There was no elevator but it’s manageable.

Frühstück war super frisch und ausreichend. Das Zimmer war für zwei Personen groß genug. Die Lage war super. Kurzer Fußweg zum großen Parkplatz und kurzer Fußweg ins Zentrum. Reiterlesmarkt sehr gut erreichbar.

建物、部屋がかわいらしくてとても良いです。 朝食のレストランもかわいらしく、ハム・チーズの種類もあってよかったです。 立地は旧市街地の端にあるため、あまり観光客が多くないのも良いですね。

駐車場が４台のガレージで入り口が狭いため、出し入れの際にホテルの方に移動をお願いする必要があります。 私は、朝食準備に時間に出る必要があったのでホテルの方に移動を依頼したら、文句を言いながらしぶしぶ動かしてくれました。 ホテルの前の道路にも止められますが、日中は有料でしかも２時間までしか停められないようです。 朝食も8:15からなので、朝早くから活動したい方には不向きですね。

The location was good breakfast was included unexpectedly the staff were helpful and friendly the rooms were great. The cost was good for the area and location always wanted to stay in a 16th century house would definitely stay there again

It was beyond expectations! Breakfast each morning was fantastic. The hotel is so charming and warm and the hosts equally so. We stayed in an apartment along the wall which was well appointed and very quiet. We loved being there during the Weihnachtsmarkt. You must walk the wall and also visit the criminal museum. I plan to bring my grandchildren back when they are a bit older to experience such a historical place.

Smelled a little mildewy, the wifi was spotty at best, breakfast was only okay, and the front door was locked at 6:30 which was inconvenient. But overall would stay here again.

Beautiful property, excellent breakfast. The mother and daughter host treated us like we were family. Rothenberg is a beautiful town and this is just the right choice if you’re looking for a hotel.

Kleines schnuckeliges Hotel. Detailverliebt und gemütlich eingerichtet.Saubere Räume. Appetitliches Frühstück. Aufmerksames und sehr freundliches Personal. Fussläufig ist man scnell in der Innenstadt.

Die Duschwand an der Badewanne, die war schwer aufzuklappen und am Badewannenrand zu befestigen.

Das Personal ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Zimmer sind sauber, klein und schnuckelig, Frühstück hat eine tolle Auswahl und die Lage ist nahezu perfekt. Der öffentliche Parkplatz ist quasi dahinter und Tagespauschale kostet lediglich 8€.

Man fühlt sich gleich bei der Ankunft nicht wie in einem Hotel, mehr wie in einem mit allem Möglichen und Unmöglichem vollgestopftem Wohnzimmer. Preis-Leistung passt hier leider gar nicht. Wir hatten ein Vierbettzimmer gebucht und stattdessen ein in einem ein paar Häuser entfernten extra gelegenes Appartement bekommen. Dh. zum Frühstücken bei -6 Grad musste man mit Jacke, Haube und Schal erstmal raus und ins Hotel. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist auf viel zu engem Raum angerichtet, alles nur in kleinen Mengen vorhanden und so ist ständig entweder das Brot, Schinken, Käse oder Butter aus. Ein Toaster steht auf der Sitzbank, das Brotkörbchen am Stuhl, die Eier am Fensterbrett. Die Garage ist im selben Stil gehalten und vollgestellt mit Lagerware, sodass maximal 2 plus 2 Autos Platz haben, die hintereinander geparkt werden müssen und sich somit die Ausfahrt verstellen. Trotz Appartement hatten wir keine 4 Betten, sondern ein Doppelbett und eine stark in die Jahre gekommene Ausziehcouch, wo man am Fußende höher lag als am Kopfteil. Fernseher ohne Fernbedienung, eine Heizung, die man nicht regulieren konnte, Fenster, die sich nicht öffnen ließen, ein Schlafzimmertür, die man dafür nicht schließen kann, da das Bett im Weg steht, sehr hellhörige Wände, eine Badezimmertür aus Glas etc. runden das Angebot ab. Wir hatten uns schon sehr auf unser Rothenburg-Wochenende gefreut und daher auch extra ein Hotel mit sehr guten Bewertungen ausgewählt. Woher diese kommen hat sich uns leider nicht erschlossen. Schade. Wir waren alles in allem sehr enttäuscht, da hätten wir eine weitaus günstigere Unterkunft genauso nehmen können.

Lage vom Haus, Zimmer absolut ausreichend für kurztrip. Frühstück war super es hat an nichts gefehlt. Personal sehr freundlich. Gerne wieder

The breakfast at this location is incredible. This is such a cozy hotel that just makes you feel at home. The location of the hotel was great as we could go by foot to visit the city, no need to get into the car.

It seemed like they might have been understaffed which caused some tension. They did seem to manage it well and keep the guests happy.

Die Lage war sehr gut und das Personal sehr nett.

Leider gab es im Zimmer keine Trinkgläser, keinen Wasserkocher, keinen Kühlschrank. Die Zufahrtsmöglichkeit zum Hotel war deutlich eingeschränkt, eine Vorab-Info wäre hilfreich gewesen.

Die Lage war top. Super war auch, dass der Parkplatz in direkter Nähe war. Liebevoll gestaltetes und geführtes Hotel.

Etwas schade war, dass wir das Bad vom Nachbar Zimmer sehr gehört hatten, spät nachts und sehr früh morgens. Aber sonst war es trotz Top Lage sehr ruhig und idyllisch.

Ein überaus freundliches, hilfsbereites Team. Familiär, herzlich, bemüht! Wir haben uns einfach wohlgefühlt!

Sehr schöne Zimmer, unmittelbar am Rande der Altstadt trotzdem sehr gut erreichbar und ruhig. Lauschige Plätzchen um Tee oder Kaffee im Hof zu trinken. Eine sehr nette Besitzerin (Viele Grüße von dem Pärchen vom letzten Wochenende) und ein absolut großartiges, mit viel Liebe aufgebautes, Frühstücks Büffet sorgten für einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Gerne wieder.
