Breakfast was tasty and there was a good selection. Senor John was very attentive and helpful at breakfast.

The bed is hard as a rock, and they only give you a tiny bottle of water on the first day.

Water in Santa Marta is not drinkable. The hotel does not have a water dispenser and only provides a very small complimentary water bottle. This is not enough and it is the first time we encounter such an issue in Colombia. All other places had water dispensers

Lovely hotel in the center of Santa Marta, bed was comfortable, bathroom was large, and AC worked well. We had a room on the ground floor and were not bothered by music at all (some reviews mention that music from a neighboring bar can be heard loudly in some rooms). Loved relaxing at the pool given how humid it can be in the city, it stays open till 10PM.

Todo. La ubicación mejor imposible. La habitación era cómoda y con todo lo necesario. La piscina aunque sea pequeña es suficiente para refrescarse. El personal muy amable, queríamos ir al parque Tayrona y nos explicaron todo y nos ofrecieron el desayuno para llevar ya que salíamos pronto.

Hotel molto accogliente in stile coloniale con camere grandi e ben ammobiliate silenziose perché affacciano sulla corte centrale. Piccola piscina sulla terrazza molto comoda visto il caldo della costa. Personale gentile e professionale, A/C ben funzionante, posizione a metà fra il centro dove c'è vita notturna e il mare.

La colazione servita potrebbe essere un po' più ricca ma comunque buonissima.

Gorgeous property. Loved the pool area. Friendly staff. Walking distance from all the best parts of Santa Marta. Super comfortable bed and lovely design for the rooms.

The neighborhood has lots of bars/clubs, so loud music was blasting until about 2am. And I mean louddd. The hotel is well aware of this and has a schedule of when the nearby clubs close. Despite it being a beautiful place, for what we paid I would expect to be able to sleep, thus the lower score.

A veces el agua caliente se gastaba y había que ducharse con agua fria. El desayuno es un poco lento, si tienes prisa mejor bajar con tiempo.

Great location- a very nicely appointed room. The rooftop pool was a pleasant place to relax. Bathroom was standard, but the shower was good. We didn't have breakfast as we had a very early morning flight.

Only thing is the noise from local nightclubs goes on till late . Get some ear plugs and you’ll be fine . The property have advised me though that they are seeking to address the noise issue with the local authorities

El desayuno estuvo rico, viene incluido y te dan una carta con varias opciones para que escojas. El hotel es super lindo, la atención muy buena también. La cama super cómoda. Tiene TV, pero tu debes ingresar tus cuentas de plataformas de streaming...

Me habria gustado que existiera un bar en la piscina o en el primer piso como para tener opciones de bebidas hasta cierta hora de la noche sin interrumpir la tranquilidad de los demás.

The accommodation is surrounded by trees, giving it a peaceful, tropical oasis feel. I chose a suite with its own private rooftop pool, and I am so glad I did. I spent three nights there. Colombia is hot —and I really cannot stress this enough. The combination of heat and humidity can be intense, so being able to cool off in the pool at the end of each day was an absolute luxury. If your budget allows, I highly recommend upgrading to one of these suites. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. Both the air conditioning and ceiling fan worked exceptionally well, making it easy to escape the heat. The shower provided consistently hot water, and having a safe in the room was an added bonus, giving me peace of mind when storing my passport and valuables. The beach is within easy walking distance, as are several inexpensive restaurants that are popular with the locals, making it a great area to experience authentic Colombian food. The real highlight for me, however, was the breakfast. It is served on the first-floor landing beneath a lush canopy of trees. Sitting there each morning, surrounded by greenery with fresh coffee in hand, was a truly beautiful way to start the day.ather than a buffet with food left sitting out all morning, every breakfast is freshly cooked to order. It begins with a bowl of fresh fruit and Colombian coffee, and each table has a menu from which you can choose your breakfast, accompanied by fresh fruit juice. I would strongly recommend trying some Colombian specialities such as cayeye, arepas, and patacones. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and professional. On my first evening, I enjoyed a wonderful meal at the famous Gausimo Restaurant, located directly opposite the hotel. Like many properties in Colombia, access is controlled by a doorbell, but the reception desk is staffed 24 hours a day. As a solo traveller, I really appreciated the added sense of security this provided.

Colombia is a vibrant, energetic country, and everywhere I stayed, there was music, nightlife, and entertainment nearby. Many reviews mention the noise, and yes, you can hear music in the evenings. However, I was born and raised in a lively city myself, so it honestly didn't seem particularly loud to me. In fact, it almost became background white noise, and I slept straight through it every night. If you're a very light sleeper, it's something worth considering before you book. But if you enjoy nightlife (even though I personally don't), then embrace it. Go dancing, learn a little salsa, enjoy a few drinks, and take a moment to appreciate the fact that you have the health, freedom, and opportunity to experience such a wonderful country.

Very pretty, clean and comfortable in a great location close to beach front and the centre. One of the best restaurants in the town directly opposite.

The nearby rooftop bar which played very loud music until between 1am and 3am. I had a suite on the top floor. Maybe if you had a room lower down in the hotel you would not be affected so much.

This was a very nice little hotel and budget friendly. Charming with nice colonial architecture and style.. The beds were comfortable, we had AC, and the bathroom was clean with a fine shower. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Located in the historic center which we wanted, we knew there could be some noise, but as suggested in other reviews, at somewhere around midnight it seemed like the external nightlife noise was just switched off.

Casa Isabela Hotel is a charming, well-appointed boutique property just a block off Parque de los Novios, and its location is one of its biggest strengths. In one direction, you’re a block from the waterfront and marina; in the other, a block from the energy of the park. It’s hard to find a more convenient base if you’ve decided to stay in centro. And notably, it’s right across from Guasimo—arguably one of the best restaurants in the city. The hotel itself has a historic feel that definitely shows, but in a way that adds character rather than detracts. Rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully put together, and the property feels intimate and relaxed. Service here truly stands out. The staff is consistently warm, attentive, and quick—when we requested extra towels for the rooftop plunge pool, they arrived in under five minutes with a smile. Breakfast is another highlight, featuring local specialties like carimañolas (fried yuca fritters typically stuffed with cheese or meat) and cayeye (a traditional Caribbean dish made from mashed green bananas, often topped with cheese and butter). It’s a great way to experience regional flavors. A unique perk is the suite with its private rooftop plunge pool overlooking the marina—perfect for catching sunset. The hotel also has consistently strong hot water, which is not always a given in this area. Overall, while centro isn’t necessarily the best area for every traveler, if you want to stay in the historic center of Santa Marta, Casa Isabela is hard to beat.

The main drawbacks are related to climate control and noise. The air conditioning in the suite struggled to keep up with the heat and never quite got the room to a comfortable temperature during much of the day. The bathroom, in particular, doesn’t get much, if any, AC and can become extremely hot. It’s also worth noting that the hotel can be noisy at night due to its proximity to Parque de los Novios, which is filled with restaurants, bars, and nightlife. That’s somewhat expected given the excellent location, but light sleepers should be aware. Finally, while the immediate area around the hotel is lively and convenient, centro can feel a bit sketchy surprisingly quickly once you move a few blocks away from Parque de los Novios. Personally, I think there are better overall areas to stay in Santa Marta, but if centro is specifically what you’re looking for, this is one of the best options available.

Important to note that the town is very busy and animated. Although the rooms are in a courtyard, noise resonates and there's loud music until all hours - make sure to pack earplugs!

C'est une petite pépite !! L'intérieur de l'hôtel est trop joli et notre chambre très spacieuse avec clim et ventilateur... Et que dire de la piscine : un vrai bonheur après la chaleur de Santa Martha !

L'hôtel est en plein centre ville du coup on entend la musique des établissements voisins mais c'est la Colombie et la musique est présente partout par contre elle s'arrête avant minuit !

Pretty close to the perfect South American funky hotel. It's a venerable building in el Centro Historico, converted with an eye for colour and tradition, but with good air con and good comfort. There's a small pool, which is so welcome. Anabil and Rafael were very kind and helpful. Breakfast offered local dishes as well as USAmerican style. Caveats below.

As is sooooo common in hotels generally, and in LatAm particularly, wi-fi was up and down in the room. There are a couple of clubs in the 'hood, so on weekends the thump thump of reggaeton may disturb some light sleepers. But it's not too bad. I'd certainly stay here again.

Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit - vielen Dank! Die Zimmer im EG (offiziell 1. OG) waren einfach, aber hübsch eingerichtet. Es gab auch einen Kühlschrank. Die Betten waren bequem und alles war sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls in Ordnung, wenn auch einfach.

Man muss beachten, dass man keinerlei Toilettenpapier herunterspülen darf (nur in einen Eimer!) Teilweise funktioniert auch die Spülung nur sehr träge, kann also 'problematisch' werden. Der Pool ist sehr klein und es gibt nur drei Liegen ohne Schirme.

Ariana at reception was really helpful We loved the location as it was so central - close to great restaurants the seafront And the relaxation area with the pool on the roof was very pleasant after a days sightseeing. People in other reviews have mentioned noise. Any music was finished by midnight and so did not affect as at all. We love this group of hotels and went to stay at the sister hotel in Tairona - villa Maria which was also set up beautifully Recommend

This hotel is now my benchmark for hotels here in South America. It has character, charm, comfort, and more. Raphael at the front desk could not be more helpful. He was the cherry on the cake, the glue that combined all the great elements the hotel had to offer. If you get to stay here, then it will be a highlight of your trip, I'm sure.

A beautiful old colonial style building in the heart of the historic centre of Santa Marta within easy walking distance of the beach, the harbour and the restaurant quarter. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful and everyone on reception spoke English. The breakfasts which were made to order contained a selection of traditional Colombian dishes.

The room which was on the ground floor had no natural light and the shutters could not be opened. This is probably a good idea as it is very hot outside but maybe not so much when you have air conditioning.

La ubicación es muy céntrica. El desayuno aunque no es bufet es bueno. Los muebles de la habitación parecen coloniales. El detalle de dejar trapos para limpiarte los zapatos.

No hay una silla en la habitación para dejar tu ropa. Las habitaciones del piso bajo no tienen privacidad pues las ventanas dan a un patio interior y se oye todo. Se oye todo el ruido de la cocina desde muy temprano. Las toallas están muy desgastadas.
