It is a nice property with eclectic decoration. The breakfast on the rooftop was delicious. The housekeeping staff was very kind. I rated a 3 for these reasons that, unfortunately, can not make up for the rest of my experience.

I arrived to check in and waited 15-20 minutes while the manager had a contentious LOUD (some might say SCREAMING) phone call with an unhappy guest. In time I was checked in. The experience was quite unsettling. I brought my own bags up to my room, accompanied by the manager, to discover there was NO AIR CON. The listing for my room clearly shows the SPARTEL DOUBLE ROOM had AIR CON. I have a health issue that requires I do not get overly hot. I asked if there where rooms WITH AC and was told they had 3 rooms with AC and all were booked during the entirety of my stay. I went through a lengthy process of showing the booking details to the manager. I stayed ONE night, as I had arrived late, and moved 100 meters down the street after breakfast to a lovely hotel that had AC, and POLITE management. I requested a refund in person and was told by the manager to go through Booking.com. Since June 25th, I have been trying to get a refund from this property through Booking.com. To date, my efforts have been unsuccessful. This property LIED about the room offering and put my health in danger. I attached a picture with yellow highlight showing AC was in the room. Today, July 14th, I sent the same information for the THIRD time to Booking.com 17-July UPDATE: Booking.com alerted me they were unable to reach an agreement with Dar Sultam. Booking.com offered me a partial refund for this booking. After that refund from Booking.com, I am left paying over $700 US for a stay at Dar Sultan that did not take place. 17-July UPDATE #2: Your response is inaccurate. I arrived in Tangier at 3:30PM. The room had no air con equipment installed! The manager told me TWO times the loud call was with a customer with a payment dispute. The fan was small with one broken foot. I told your manager on the 24th I would leave and asked for a refund. I checked out on the 25th, gave the key to your wife, and left with my packed bags. The room details clearly show AC that did not exist.

J'ai beaucoup aimé cet endroit : les chambres sont magnifiques, le personnel est très gentil et serviable, et le propriétaire est très aimable. On peut profiter d'une vue tout simplement incroyable depuis le toit-terrasse, et le petit-déjeuner servi sur la terrasse est copieux et devant la mer.

I recommend this amazing place. Great location in the old medina, with a smile welcome you reach the accommodation to see how it is wonderful with great facilities, quiet room, fully breakfast and gorgeous terrace. I love it. Thanks for the team. I'll back for sure. You deserve 10 out of 10

Nous avons été choyé par le personnel. Tous le monde est très gentil et serviable, de la direction jusqu'au personnel. Younes, Sanaa et toutes les autres dames des service. Tous le monde est très aidant. Petit déjeuner copieux, thé à tout heure, endroit calme et joliment décoré au sommet de la medina.

Petit déjeuner très copieux produits frais et de bonne qualité et un dressage de table avec une belle vaisselle.

Le Dar Sultan est une chambre d’hôtes hors du temps ou nous avons passé un séjour tout simplement merveilleux ! L’accueil est exceptionnel, le personnel est aux petits soins, le couscous de Nadia, un délice ! Tout le confort y est pour un voyage de rêve et de détente au pays des mille et une nuits Nous avons hâte de revenir y séjourner Nous recommander sans hésiter !!

The location was amazing right in the Kasbah. The terrace and rooftop are both really nice! Greats views of the city. The staff were all very nice and great. English language is not the best so just a warning it was hard to communicate but that’s not their fault at all!

Check in time took way too long. We got put in a room and came back after a night out with all of our belongings being packed as they put us in a room that someone else had booked. This was not okay for them to touch and pack our belongings. This kind of soured the stay there.

Es un lugar espectacular!!! Cada día que estuvimos ahi nos agasajaron con una atención o detalle especial. La habitación estaba excelente y la cama supercómoda. El desayuno ultra mega completo, el primer dia nos sorprendió porque no paraba de llegarnos comida. El personal del riad es maravilloso, superatentos y siempre buscando ayudarnos. El riad es hermoso, con una decoración encantadora y una terraza llena de plantas donde corre un aire fresco para relajarse un rato y llevar el calor de la ciudad. La ubicación es buenísima, a pasos de la plaza y museo de la kazbah y de los 3 de los restaurantes más recomendados. Es la zona de la kazbah mas linda y menos agitada. Los taxis te dejan a 200 metros del riad y no hay que andar mucho con las valijas. La ubicación de Google Maps no esta del todo correcta, el riad queda en el número 49 de Rue Abdesammoud Guennoun, unos pocos metros más adelante de donde está marcado en Google Maps. Tanto la dueña como el personal han extremadamente agradables y han hecho nuestra estancia memorable.

Very good location in the historic Kasbah of Tangier. Excellent breakfast served on the pretty top floor terrace.

The perilous stairs to access all floors! Very, very steep and narrow, and those with limited mobility would find it almost impossible.

Wonderful riad to stay in Tanger, clean room with fantastic private terrace and amazing view of town and sea. Staff very kind and helpful, very efficient, kind, professional and familiar at same time. The structure is a Moroccan characteristic riad, we love it and we would come back again. Absolutely perfect!

What a wonderful hotel, bags of charm and character. Felt like we were staying in an authentic Moroccan home. Really beautiful filled with all sorts of lovely, interesting home furnishings. The hosts and staff couldn’t do enough for us, very friendly and kind. We were welcomed with a drink & snack on arrival and each day fresh cookies & chocolates left in our room as well as a farewell gift. The last morning they even arranged a small breakfast for us even though we were leaving at 6am! Lots of attention to detail. Although situated within the Medina it was not in a noisy area. If you climbed to the top level you had a view right across the city and a great place to watch the sun set! Breakfast was delicious and lots of it!

El desayuno muy bueno y abundante , servido en la terraza. La ubicación del hotel es buena, a pocos pasos de la kashba y de la medina. Al principio cuesta un poco familiarizarse con las calles laberínticas, pero se aprende rápido. El personal muy amable, nos ayudó con todo lo que necesitamos.

La cama podría ser un poco más cómoda, aunque pudimos descansar bien.

Es ist ein traditionelles Riad und entzieht sich somit üblichen Hotelerwartungen. Wenn man sich darauf einlässt, wird man überreichlich belohnt. Wir hatten im 4. Stock das Zimmer mit privater größer Terrasse und atemberaubenden Blick über Stadt und Bucht - auch vom Bett aus. Da hochzukommen bedarf es gesunder Knie und natürlich wird das Gepäck hoch und runter getragen. Wir waren im April da und haben Sonne und Wärme genossen, vielleicht ist beides im Sommer zuviel - auch für die Klimaanlage? Das traditionelle Frühstück großartig!

Nichts, denn dann darf man nicht in einem Riad übernachten.

The location, the incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming staff, the wonderful, tasteful decor ( our blue room was exceptional, with a private terrace and beautiful city and ocean views), the quality of breakfast, and the kindness and thoughtfulness of Nadia and Jean-Pierre.

La localisation, la décoration, le service et l'accueil exceptionnel. Le repas comme à la maison.

Profiter de la terrasse et de la vue tout en haut de la maison se mérite. Il faut grimper un escalier avec de hautes marches pour regagner sa chambre. Si vous avez des soucis de genoux, il faut le prendre en considération.

Great breakfast - tasty pancakes but rather cold.

Unfortunately our terrace at the very top of the hotel had no cushions or anything to sit on the iron frames but this is no fault of the hotel as the weather had been bad. It would be a good idea to put the cushions in the small shed so that we could take one or two out for the few sunny moments.

Ottima posizione, il riad è super confortevole e accogliente curato nei minimi particolari. Lo staff super gentile e premuroso. Colazione ricca, fatta con prodotti della casa. Abbiamo avuto anche il piacere di cenare presso la struttura: cena marocchina, quella autentica! È stato tutto fantastico.

We had the most memorable experience at Dar Sultan. So much thought and detail has been put into this hotel. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, the room and bed were perfect and it was inside the Kasbah! I would 100% recommend this hotel to family and friends and hope to go back again. Thank you for having us.

Beautiful property and fantastic staff.

Multiple openings, some large, some small, from bedroom to bathroom that cannot be closed for bathroom privacy. Sewer smell from pipes permeates the entire room.

La amabilidad del personal. Soy celíaca y tuvieron el detalle de conseguirme galletas sin gluten. Estaban pendientes de todo lo que necesitábamos.

Amazing property, Neat clean, center to everything and rooms were neat and clean.

There was an issue with the invoice, I paid fully in advance for everything and just when I was about to leave/checkout i was handed over a tax bill which was handwritten and was asked to pay in cash. I told them i can pay card but they kept insisting on cash. It was very dodgey situation after an argument of 10 mins, I told them I am leaving as my taxi is here and they took the handwritten bill back from me and walked away. It seemed like the staff wanted to skim me.

Fabulous Rad and wonderful staff, the best stay on Morocco trip. The Riad is exceptional, lots of character, cosy and full of interesting items. Our bedroom was bliss. Lovely soaps, body lotions etc in the bathroom and snuggly robes to put on. A real treat. The staff are all lovely. Friendly, professional and super helpful. A big thank you!

The location was excellent. A short walk to all of the Medina. Right around the corner from the best restaurant in Tangier, The Morocco Club. The breakfast was amazing. The staff were awesome. The entire team looked after us very well and arranged tours and taxis for us. We cannot thank them enough. We would stay at the Dar Sultan every time we visit Tangier.

A gorgeous riad inside the Medina, in a quiet street. Beautiful room with great facilities and a really good breakfast on the roof terrace. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Tout ! Emplacement parfait en haut de la médina et une decoration très soignée. Beaucoup de goût. Nadia et Abdel s’assurent avec une immense gentillesse de notre confort et sont totalement dévoués. Un diner exceptionnel préparé par Nadia un soir de notre séjour. Des conseils efficaces pour tout le séjour. Et deux adorables chats accueillent les hôtes.

A very small room and a tiny bathroom. Mostly the same breakfast for the three days we stayed, Same cake and stewed fruit and the fresh fruit on our last day was some very tired grapes. Could improve variety and freshness. .

The rooms were very clean and “Moroccan” with lovely touches throughout.

Estuve en este tipico alojamiento un par de veces en Marraquesh, la ambientacion del lugar, su esquisita cena en exclusividad con otra pareja.El desayuno muy completo y de estilo Marroqui,la atencion de Sra a cargo del alojamiento y todo su personal, atento, servicial y afectuoso...........en especial la Sra Nadia, qure nos hizo sentir en casa y nos despidio con un presente artesanal.........MUCHAS GRACIAS, si eligen este alojamiento, no se arrepentiran y respiraran una autentica atmosfera Marroqui., cargada de historia, recuerdos, en una casona llena de colores, paredes decoradas,un lecho lleno de petalos de rosa y el sabor del TE,inolvidable................

Nuestra edad y las altas escaleras, pero igualmente eso no afecto, nuestra estupenda estadia.-

El riad es un edificio de una hermosura excepcional, con una decoración de altísimo nivel y unas terrazas -en que desayunábamos- con unas vistas de Tanger que eran mágicas y que te invitaban a quedarte horas allí.

Todo ha sido excepcional, sumando naturalmente a la atención de todo el personal, no solo en sus servicios específicos sino informándonos sobre sitios para conocer, como desplazarnos en Tanger y recorridos a otras ciudades. Todo con una calidad humana excepcional.

La gentillesse et la disponibilité de Nadia & Medhi, sans oublier le reste de l’équipe et … les chats ! La déco exceptionnelle du Riad et l’excellent PdJ, surtout pas avec des viennoiseries trop françaises et trop chères, servi avec des crêpes marocaines !

Great location, very pretty interior decor, exceptionally clean. Breakfast was plentiful with variety. Ibrahim, Mehdi and Nadia were eager to attend to our needs. Potential guests should note that stairs to upper rooms are rather steep, there is no elevator; also, there are cats on premises. Very peaceful atmosphere.

L'accoglienza ricevuta dallo staff è stata super. All'arrivo ci hanno offerto tea alla menta e dolcetti al miele. La struttura è tradizionale e molto curata (forse un po' troppocarica di oggetti).. La nostra stanza Kasba al secondo piano era corrispondente alle nostre richieste e abbastanza silenziosa. La colazione, servita nella splendida terrazza, è di ottimo livello (inserirei frutta secca e qualche dolce locale oltre che pane tipico invecedella baguette). Nella zona alta della città ma vicina al servizio taxi.

Vorrei solo dare un suggerimento: avvisare i clienti che il bagno in camera non ha finestra e ha delle aperture verso la camera che non isolano da rumori e odori (forse inserirei un aspiratore). La struttura della camera potrebbe non far sentire le persone a proprio agio.

An oasis

Loved the decor and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Nadia did an outstanding job to make us feel welcome. The breakfast on the terrace was excellent. The dinner served on our last night was excellent

We booked last minute and consequently we had quite a small room.

Bellissima struttura vicina al suk e alle vie principali pieni di ristoranti e bar. Camera pulita, c'è tutto quello che serve. La terrazza dove facevamo la colazione merita il soggiorno una piccola oasi piena di piante nella città, colazione fantastica. Personale gentilissimo ci hanno organizzato trasporti per visitare i dintorni di Tangeri e le migliori spiagge. Se capitate di venerdi partecipate alla loro cena a base di cous cous fantastico!

Camera non grandissima, ma tutto il Riad è una piccola bomboniera.

La situation, le cadre, l établissement, la déco, l ambiance et un personnel au top.....en résumé : plus que parfait! Dommage qu on ne puisse pas mettre 20/10 .....Dolores et Nadia 🤗 de Belgique.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour à Dar Sultan, et avons notamment apprécié la gentillesse du personnel et la qualité du petit déjeuner. Nous regrettons toutefois la qualité de la litterie vieillissante.

Une très belle déco dès l’entrée dans le riad, des hôtes aux petits soins pour faire de votre séjour de merveilleux moments. Les chambres sont très agréables, très bien décorées, le riad est idéalement situé dans la kasbah. Petit déjeuner de folie. Nous avons dîné un soir au riad, c’était excellent. Bref un énorme coup de cœur pour cet endroit qui a largement contribué à faire de notre séjour à Tanger un merveilleux souvenir. Merci à Nadia pour son accueil et toutes ses attentions.

é. Personnel d’accueil ? Quasi inexistant. Et pourtant le prix exhorbitant (100 euros plus cher que le Riad que j’ai pris deux semaines avant à deux rues plus loin). Bref beaucoup de poudre aux yeux mais je ne le conseille pas.

L'accueil très chaleureux, la bienveillance de Nadia et son équipe, l'emplacement exceptionnel du lieu dans la Kasbah, une superbe décoration intérieure, la propreté irréprochable du Riad et de la chambre, le petit déjeuner délicieux avec des produits fait maison avec un service rapide et de qualité, sans oublier les petits délices posés chaque jour dans la chambre.

The hotel is very small, the staff very polite, present and service minded. Fantastic breakfast and staff overall. Our top room Charf would be ideal for honeymooners. Stairs are steep, and there are no elevators. Private terrace overlooking the city and harbor and I am sure on a clear day Gibraltar. Good wireless Internet access.

It can be hard to find, take a taxi or download Google map to your phone as there is poor cell service at street level. You can exit the harbour walk along the wall to the right, up the stairs, enter to the left through the wall, the immediate right through the tunnel follow the bend and then left, go straight and you will find it. Just keep in mind this is a locked door - knock using the door hammer. Rue Ahmed Ben Adjiba - Look for sign on the house wall.
