Great breakfast, quiet unobtrusive sevice

El trato del propietario y la ubicación

The owner went above and beyond to help us and give us information about the town and Causeway Coast Trail. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms and bathrooms were amongst the best we experienced during a 2 week trip in Ireland/Northern Ireland. The location was quiet and easy to get to.
The property was great. No significant dislikes. The location was nice but a 10 minute walk from the the village center and most pubs/restaurants.
It is situated in the perfect position with just a short walk into the town
Great location and friendly staff
We didn’t like having to wait until 4pm to check in
Breakfast was excellent, it is cooked to order so fresh. Soda bread and potato bread were lovely. All meat is sourced from local farmers. My son had the French toast, he loved it. He wants to go back for more. Everything was so fresh that we got for breakfast.

JJ was very friendly and helpful from check-in, even dropping us down to the nearby recommended restaurant. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.
Great people, great location and a very pleasant atmosphere. Easy walk to town and bus to Portrush. JJ and Marie and their team will make sure your visit will be enjoyable. They deserve all their 5 Star ratings.
JJ was such a great host! He was so nice to my girls and I. I’d definitely recommend this BnB to anyone. One thing to note about the area is you really need to book dinner reservations well in advance of your trip during the summer. There are only a few sit down restaurants and they book up early. We couldn’t get in two nights to any of them and ended up just eating at the Portstewart Golf Club Clubhouse which had good food and excellent views.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here it is a real we gem of a place. So clean, tidy ,handy to everywhere.JJ and Marie make you feel so at home and welcome. The food is excellent and our stay there was great. We will return again.Thank You From Uel and Linda
Absolutely the cleanest place we have ever stayed, and we have stayed in a few and in different places in the world. The breakfast was plentiful and with a good selection of everything you could want for breakfast. It is within walking distance of the promenade to shops, bars, eateries and breathtaking scenery. The only issue we could have picked up on was the noise from the shower. Overall a fantastic place to stay.
Absolutely loved it here and will 100% be here again some day
El personal muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar en todo. El desayuno rico y abundante.
Great welcome. Great location
JJ and Marie are excellent hosts. JJ was the travel guide and checkin/checkout host while Marie was the chef. They both were super. The room was large, having the largest bathroom of all the B&Bs we stayed in. Breakfast - both mornings - were very nice (thank you, Marie!}. Bed was very comfortable, road noise moderate but not disruptive to sleep, location was great. Could drive to restaurants and pubs, Giant's Causeway, Carrak-a-Rede Rope Bridge, and other sites from Port Stewart. Also is very close to Port Stewart Strand, a lovely beach to drive onto at dusk. A definite high recommendation for this home.
nothing. Every very nice.
Such a lovely place! Family owned pristine guesthouse, with owners who were just so lovely! They recommended us great restaurants and things to do in the area. Lovely room - cookies replenished each day was a super extra touch. Really nice toiletries too. Highly recommended :-)
Beautiful accomodation in a great position, close to town very clean. Hosts very welcoming they went above and beyond to make our stay special. Great home cooked breakfast.
I had stayed at Cul Erg a few years ago and I wondered if it was able to retain the high standard I enjoyed previously. I need not have worried. I was greeted at Reception with the most cordial of welcomes and shown to the ground floor room which I had requested when booking. The room was en suite and tastefully decorated. And I slept well on a very comfortable mattress. The breakfast next morning was a real treat … three pages of choices. I chose the eggs scrambled with salmon which was smoked in nearby Ballycastle . Delicious, I look forward to repeating this experience in the not-too-distant future.
Very Good facilities, clean and easy parking on street. 5 or so doors from the ocean with easy access ti walks and town centre. Harry’s Shack was brilliant, can walk there and back along seafront but takes around 45 minutes.

I visited Portstewart for a hiking trip along the causeway coast and had a wonderful stay at Cul-Erg B&B. JJ and Marie were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful - we felt truly well taken care of from start to finish. The rooms were comfortable, spotlessly clean, and full of lovely little touches that made all the difference. And the view! Watching the sunset framed perfectly in the window from the comfort of the bed was simply sensational. Absolutely top notch. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
J.J. Greeted us at the door and provided a warm and informative welcome. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The room was quiet and met all our needs. The town offered plenty of shopping and dining options and stunning beaches. Very friendly people. I look forward to returning for another stay in the future.
2nd time staying here, the owners are lovely ,caring, friendly and funny. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. The breakfasts are delicious. You can practically touch the sea from their location and only a few hundred yards from shops and cafes. Quiet location. Thanks for everything JJ and Marie.
Zentrale Lage und trotzdem sehr ruhig. Man kann zu Fuß zur Promenade, an den Hafen und den Felsenstrand. Gastgeber J.J. ist sehr lustig und gibt gute Tipps. Leckeres Frühstück!
Alles prima
100% recommended this BnB ❤️ Had such a warm and friendly welcome from JJ who Gabe me lots of tips and advice for my causeway walk the following day. Not only was he a lovely person to talk to but he very kindly upgraded me to a double room as there was one available!! Wow!! Thank you so much! The room was so comfortable and clean. The bathroom was delightful with all the small touches you'd expect from a posh hotel (shower cap, essential oil hand wash & cream, face cloth, face cotton pads). The BnB itself was located right on the causeway route which is very handy for starting the trip. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try the breakfast as I had to leave earlier than serving time but I hear very good things!
None to speak of!
A great welcome with lots of information about the places to visit and how to get the best out of them. Advice on where to go for an evening meal. The breakfasts were superb and we had a lovely spacious room.

My husband, daughter & I just came across this fantastic place walking past, 2 open prawn sandwiches & halloumi brioche & coffees..bought 2 wheaten & sticky onion marmalade (😋) Back to Fermanagh with us..Thks again all in cul-Erg for wonderful lunch..
Sehr gute Betten, unfassbar freundliches Personal, wunderbares Frühstück, sehr zentral. Bushaltestelle direkt vor der Haustür
Cul-erg is perfectly located for walking in to Port Stewart, or for a walk along the sea front. There is on street parking directly outside. Our room was large & comfortable. Breakfast was served in the dining room and was tasty and varied. The host helped us with recommendations for places to eat, and was friendly.
JJ was a great host and gave us great tips for a visit to the Giants Causeway. The breakfast was delicious.
Everything was great. JJ and Marie were the perfect hosts. The rooms were large and comfortable

JJ and his family are very helpful with local things to do. The breakfast is amazing. And the rooms are so clean and cozy
Clean, tidy, very comfortable beds. Breakfast was exceptional with plenty of choices.
Estupendo B&B para visitar La Calzada del Gigante. El dueño súper amable, nos dio muchas recomendaciones. Buen desayuno.
Very friendly staff and the breakfast was fantastic
Nothing
The included breakfast was amazing and JJ and staff were super friendly. Also a great location for doing activities.
Our suite was a little noisy from the people next door and above us but it didn’t significantly impact our stay. Also there were some fire alarms/car alarms that went off later in the night both nights although may not have had anything to do with the Cul-Erg. Since you have to keep the window open for air some outside noises can be disruptive.
My husband & I had the absolutely best experience at Cul-Erg! It was our favorite stay within Northern Ireland & Ireland over the course of 10 days. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful recommending a dinner location, as well as places we may want to stop (or avoid!) on our journey across Ireland. The bed was by far the most comfortable during our whole trip and our room was perfect. Our breakfast was memorable - it was my husband's favorite meal (traditional Irish Breakfast) during our entire stay. Would HIGHLY recommend checking out Cul-Erg if the B&B experience is for you!
Spent a very enjoyable, relaxing weekend at Cul-Erg! From the initial phone call until we left, J J and Marie could not have been more helpful. On arrival, because of the difficulty in getting parked and the heavy rain, we were given a lift down the town . They were also very helpful and successful in attempting to get a booking in a very busy restaurant ! The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and our breakfast the next morning was as it was described ! “ A full Irish” We departed - full and rested as well !
This was one of the best places we stayed during our entire vacation to Ireland. JJ and Marie are sweet hosts and would do anything for you. The rooms were so quiet and luxurious- even thick robes offered! The breakfast was amazing and delicious. Perfect location near the promenade and free parking! A short drive to the Causeway. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

The attention to detail is amazing!
Nothing, the experience was truly exceptional

Room size is small for this rate, shower was not gate
JJ and Marie were awesome and the rooms are perfect for our stay!
Another perfect stay, our 3rd at Cul Erg. The rooms are well thought out and tastefully furnished. The breakfasts are really lovely, we have eaten our way through the menu. Many thanks Marie and JJ, see you next time.
JJ was helpful on what to see. Breakfast was great.
Wonderful 4 nights in front room. Great hosts JJ, Marie & James looked after these 2 elderly Aussies with many travel tips & great breakfasts
We were only here for one night but it was a nice night. We were greeted by JJ and he was an exceptional host. Their breakfast was probably one of the best we had. The rooms had everything you could need but compared to other places seemed smallish but we were only there to sleep.
Don’t hesitate in booking this place if you’re lucky enough to find it available. I would describe it as being a home from home. The hosts JJ and Marie are incredible. Their local knowledge was a bonus too. First class service from the moment I stepped through the door until I left. Marie’s cooking is fantastic too. I hope my health will allow me the opportunity to stay here again and for longer next time. Thanks guys keep up the good work and I can fully understand why your rating is so high. 😁
Hat alles perfekt gepasst, schönes Zimmer mit bequemen Betten, erstklassiges Frühstück und JJ war nie verlegen super Ausflug-Tipps zu geben ... danke nochmals
Great hospitality, very good breakfast and a good atmosphere.
It’s all perfect.
We had a great stay! A beautifully furnished room that was spotlessly clean and the beds were super comfortable. The host was friendly and helpful and the location was great!
Staff so welcoming and friendly.
Excellent experience with our daughter. Great personal service, excellent accommodation and great food Walking distance to a wonderful restaurant and right on the water. I would recommend this B and B for any occasion
The choice for breakfast was really good. The service was great as was the food. The rooms were comfortable The staff were very obliging and friendly
There was no parking right outside and we had to park down the street. It wasn’t really an issue though.
sehr nette und hilfsbereite sowie humorvolle Gastgeber
JJ went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even accommodating an unexpected late check in. Top tier hospitality!
Another plesant stay at Cul Erg with JJ and Maries top class service as usual. Bedroom very comfortable with all you need, Great selection for breakfast with Gluten Free also available. If you haven't tried it you are missing out. Situation is perfect, within walking distance of town centre and private parking available at rear of guest house.

Great breakfast and friendly hosts and staff Room is too full with unnecessary items Bed was small and way too soft. Needs replacing? Roof guttering needs fixing as we had dripping noise from the rain all night Great convenient location
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely B&B. JJ was a charming host and the room was so comfortable and luxurious, esp. after our long walking journey along the Antrim Coast. The breakfast was one of the best I had in all my holiday travels. The place is perfectly located and easy to get to from Coleraine station (if you're not walking from Ballycastle as we did!). This is the place to stay in Portstewart. JJ and his family know how to do it right. Thank you!
The owners were fantastic. Wonderful people, epic breakfast and plenty of information for getting around and enjoying the region
Friendly and helpful staff, great tips about the area. Very good breakfast, comfortable room, loved the robes provided. Parking was right out front but also an area in the back. Drinking water was provided and access to a fridge for our own supplies.
Water in shower could have been warmer.
Comfortable, friendly people and in a great spot

Amazing Host.
Beautifully maintained and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent. JJ is a great host and helped us plan our day on the coast.

Excellent location. Staff were very pleasant. Room wascas advertised. We did not partake in breakfast.
Like everything in Northern Ireland's popular destinations, cost was up there.
The service we received was first class. The support from JJ was superb. We had a lovely sized room and the en-suite was modern and clean. The breakfast was superb. We look forward to visiting again.
Nil.
We just spent the past week at this fabulous B and B and would highly recommend it to everyone. In a prime location, you can walk up the street to pubs, grocery, chemist, coffee shops and ice cream parlors. There is a bus stop just steps away that takes you to Coleraine to train into Belfast or the other direction to Portrush. JJ, Marie and James are wonderful owners who see that everyone is well taken care of. You will not be disappointed with any aspect of your stay. Pro tip- book with them directly for the best rates!!
I had the privilege of residing at the Cul-Erg House and Kitchen for a week while attending the Open Championship at Royal Portrush last week. I am very well aware of just how outstanding this establishment is having stayed there on previous visits to Portstewart. This is no ordinary B&B as the service and facilities are top quality while its close location to a bus stop and only a short walk to the main Portstewart promenade make it so very easy get around. Marie, JJ & James are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I hope that this most recent stay is not my last and have no hesitation in giving it the highest recommendation possible. Tom Thomson New Zealand
JJ, Marie and James were wonderful hosts. Cul-Erg is close to public transportation to visit the sights of Northern Ireland. The rooms are clean and the bed and breakfast is in close proximity to town. Would recommend visiting Cul-Erg House.
Marie, James and JJ were excellent hosts during my stay. Hope to stay there again during my next trip.
Fantastic stay. Great location - walk to the Promenade and beautiful sea walk to the Strand. Public bus outside the door directly to Portrush - to see British Open. Clean well appointed room and great breakfast. Thanks JJ and Marie!
Room was clean, bed comfortable and had a decent night's sleep. I'd stay again
Wonderful host & the best breakfast!
