The location

The manager informed us that we received a complimentary room upgrade, which initially sounded positive. However, the upgraded room was unacceptable .. The walls were dirty, and the towels were very worn and even appeared unclean. After we complained, they replaced them with clean ones. The bathroom definitely needs renovation as it was outdated and not in good condition. The corridor on the 5th floor had no air conditioning and smelled unpleasant. On our last day, there was no internet access on the entire floor, and we were offered another room change, which was inconvenient. The breakfast was buffet-style but with low-quality products. The breakfast staff were polite, although communication in English was difficult. Overall, I do not recommend this hote

Rooms were neat and clean and service was great. Mr Nasim helped with upgrading the room and was very helpful throughout the stay.

Hot water not available in the evening, had to complain, appears hot water valve turned low. Room Telephone not working, fixed after complaining Many power cuts one evening, power came back after 19 minutes, people stuck in lift!

It was clean, large rooms, and good food.

The facilities shown in images are worse in person for being up to date, and the shower had issues keeping hot.

I got upgraded to suite room and it was huge. The facilities were top notch and as usual the staff is very accommodating. Their complimentary coconut water in afternoon and evening visit is much appreciated.

Maximal 1 Sterne Hotel. Alles heruntergekommen, abgewohnt, riesiger Verschleiß. Es gibt zwar Lichtblicke, "Marmorverkleidung im Band" aber dreckige Lichtschalter, wackelige WC Spülung, Warm Wasser nach Ewigkeiten, usw. Insgesamt: Das Geld nicht wert.

Break fast was cold at 8:30 and restaurant staff were not welcoming.

Just by the incredible way that you are treated by all the staff is worth it. They treat you like a grandmother that has not seen her little grandchildren in one year.

It was an excellent stay overall. From the receiption staff to room service, cleaning and then restaurant - all provided an excellent service and support. They've provided us the best possible early check in time. Everything was smooth. It has a great ambient and the great location. Restaurant service and food was also amazing. Special mention for receiption staff Bantalata, Puja etc. and house keeping staff member Prabhashini Jina.

All were good and no complains at all for this stay. It actually exceeded our expectations. I would like to recommend this for anyone visiting Bhubaneswar. Great value for money.

The location was excellent, undeniably good, and perfectly situated in the center of the city. I have stayed here many times previously specifically for this reason, as it makes navigating the area incredibly easy. However, despite the fantastic location, this particular experience was exceedingly bad from check-in staff behaviour to cleanliness and service. I sincerely wish not to visit this property again.

1. Staff Behavior and Management: The behavior of the staff was completely unacceptable, displaying indifference and a lack of professionalism. Specifically, the Front Desk Manager was ill mannered and dismissive. 2. Finish and Construction Quality: While the property looks like it may have been recently constructed or modified, the work is clearly not finished well. There was a persistent, strong, and deeply unpleasant chemical smell throughout the hallway and even inside the room—likely residual paint or construction fumes—which made breathing uncomfortable. 3. Cleanliness and Amenities: There was a complete lack of basic cleanliness. Surfaces were dusty, corners were neglected, and the overall state of the room was subpar. Furthermore, the provided towels were old and had a distinct, foul, and musty smell. 4. Overall Experience: This was, unequivocally, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The combination of health-affecting smells, gross amenities, lack of cleanliness, and rude management completely overshadowed the convenience of the location. The property needs serious oversight concerning management, renovation quality, and hygiene standards before it can be considered a decent place to stay.

The kind of tariff they charge is not worthy. The linen are of poor quality, horribly smelly rooms, bathroom is pathetic, shower are cloaked. It doesn’t worth more than INR 2500 per night.

Staff behaviour and attention to needs of guests

Rooms are very old , 2nd floor where I was alloted room first had lousy air conditioning , creaking drawers, but they changed it after my complaint at 5th floor which was little better . Matress quality is not great but for a night not to much to complaint about

The hospitality of staff is really worth appreciating!

The hotel needs a bit of maintenance. It is preety old. Also the access to the mall from 3rd flr is good but it is risky too as people from mall can easily come inside the hotel and reach the rooms. I found it a big security issue.

We had a wonderful stay at hotel pal heights .the front office staff are very helpful specially priyabrat the room was clean and comfortable ,we would definitely stay here again

Location was very poor I had a fall in the dining area and fractured my foot. The stairs going down to the dining hall the last stair wasn't visible.

Beautiful hotel with a great restaurant offering food until late in the evening. The spa was also great with good prices but the location was a bit strange and you will find unmotivated staffs there.

They had a good buffet breakfast. Their timings could be better suites for the business traveller to start at 7am, Instead of 7 30.

Their room service can be slow. House keeping is even slower to pick a call or respond.

It’s close to the airport and next to a mall which is very convenient to find food around. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was decent.

We booked a standard room but we didn’t know it was a “no window” one, meaning there was a constant humid smell and no sunlight at all (if the curtains were opened, you could see the inside of the mall which is next to the hotel). The floor where we were, had a horrible smell right outside the elevator, like if people had been smoking there nonstop. From the two elevators, only 1 was working at the time. Not always the same one and the worst part is that there is no actual staircase after the first floor. We tried using the “fire exit” since elevator was taking so long, only to find out that it’s not really for usage of the guest (only in emergency) since everything looked veeery different (as a construction place). Therefore the only option was to wait for the only functioning elevator at the time (which were also not in the best conditions) Lastly, on their room service menu it’s advertised that it is available until midnight and when I ordered at 22:45 they declined my order saying kitchen was closed. After insisting a bit they agreed but only some limited options.

There is no proper functioning phone in the room the room was not ready even by 3pm during checkin.the worst service is the in-house dining they didn’t provide water for 3hours even for which it is paid by me.the staffs working in the hotel is not professional they don’t know how to serve the guests.the bathroom tile is slippery and the water gets clogged every time when used.I booked 2rooms both the rooms got disturbed by some person 3 to4 times during the midnight.it is a worst hotel if you want to experience this worst unpleasant stay please book a room in this hotel or please don’t waste your money and your peacefulness by booking this hotel

It was changed to deluxe room that the standard room at the advice of staff at counter. However there was nothing Deluxe about it.. no view though the manager at Counter promised. Probably someone wanted standard room and he offered deluxe room to me it was already11.00 pm I did not check. He never forget to charged extra..

Our first room was really humid. The bad felt a little wet due to the high humidity and there were signs of mold in the wall. But we were able to switch to another floor with better (but smoking) rooms. The ceiling in the lobby was dripping.

The room was spacious with comfortable bed and clean sheets and bathroom. Best thing was staff. They were courteous and helpful. The food was very good. I would recommend people to just visit the restaurant for food if not staying.

Very good supportive staff. I had an early checkout and the receptionist prepared a small carry on package for breakfast. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The food is also very good. I had grilled fish and it exceeded my expectations.

The hotel was filthy, with a strange smell, toilets were dirty. Bad maintenance, looks like the management is not spending anything on the hotel. It is definitely not a 4-star hotel, more like a 1 star.
