The staff went out of their way to be as helpful as possible despite a yawning chasm of a language barrier. Duty manager Shirley was a breath of fresh air and super helpful...when the restaurant, did not have promised vegetarian options, she arranged pizza delivery for us. ❤️ Free, self service laundry was great and breakfast ample.

Superficial glitz, but lacking promised facilities. Room service was not available at advertised times and many items were not on the menu...we arrived late and went hungry. Both saunas were out of service and the basement pool depressing.

We booked club room, but lounge was being repaired and swimming pool out of action - no compensation offered or reduction.

Staff were friendly and attentive. On the day of check out to another place, I forgot to pack my iPhone charger left by the bedside in the room. I called them and they kept it for me to collect a few days later.

Wonderful, cozy rooms and facilities. Very friendly and accommodating staff that made you feel very welcome.

I wish there was better lighting in the rooms but it's a minor con compared to all the positivies.

Other than location everything else was a giant disappointment

The stay was horrible and made my overall experience pretty bad. 1. Let’s start from the beginning that front desk staff had no English language ability and what shocked me greatly is the kitchen staff spoke better English than the front desk staff. 2.when I entered into the room I realised they have disabled the ability of the guest to decide his or her room temperature. The AC kept blowing hot air at 24 degrees. It felt like I was in a desert sitting on a camel. When I contacted the front desk through a translator they informed me it’s winter in Chengdu and the AC is set to hot, and if I feel too hot I can open the window or they can offer me a water cooler. Let me remind you outside was shit hot and sunny at 20 ish degree ( their so called winter ) for the entire duration I kept on filling the water cooler with water like a camel walking back and forth from Ossis and the experience was horrible. Holiday inn oriental plaza should change its name to holiday motel. 3. Breakfast buffet . The menu was the same everyday and tasted exactly the same for every dish. After eating the same thing for two days on the third day I gave up and ordered food from outside . Guess that their robot broke down the same instance and I was asked to go down and collect it . The staff had no training for the days I visited the buffet . Nobody cleared the plates. All the guest around me were sitting with a pile of used plates , stacking them up but none of the staff bothered on clearing the table. They only clear the table once you are done with the food and leave. I have never been to 3+ star hotel where this happened . All this made be strongly realise this hotel is not upto to mark and I made a grave mistake booking it for my Chengdu trip. 2.

Near and covinence to any where as just next to a metro station.

Le petit déjeuner : toujours la même chose , des plats normalement chauds ( nouilles , riz , bacon ) étaient froids donc pas très bon ATTENTION au service de laverie qui coûte extrêmement cher ( plus de 60€ pour 4 Tshirt , 4 sous-vêtement et 3 paires de chaussettes)

The breakfast offers a lot of very delicious food both local and international cuisine. We loved it!

El servicio del hotel es muy recomendable . El Buffet variado y de calidad . El problema es por que tuve noche difíciles ya que el AC está controlado a 23 -24 y no se puede dormir por calor. El hotel me proporcionó amablemente un n ventilador de pie. No lo recomiendo en verano.

Polite and helpful personnel, great location

The palce was clean and the staff there was good. The staff at there was good too. The location is good as there are road side food and there hav trai and bus there too. Minimart is just beside it, but there will be no shelter. The breakfast was good as my parents was happy about it.

Just that they do not have all different kind of bedrooms photos as may cause misundersatnding.

Best Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in. The hotel is in higher standard than Holiday Inn in other cities. The service is excellent. Staff are very helpful.

Very clean and quiet hotel in a convenient location. The room is spacious. The central AC worked great in the summer. It is next to a subway station and a residential neighborhood with a lot of restaurants.

Very well maintained hotel. For the Business traveller, the two biggest priorities are good bed and good shower, everything else is a bonus :) And in this case both were excellent.

Great location and comfortable hotel

Location was very good and hotel is beautiful and quit. For me the pillow and bed were comfy. Breakfast as well. I need to follow glutenfree diet, this place helped to do it. I took some gf bread and could eat egg, fruit, veggie etc... In the 1st evening we visited restaurant for dinner, rhey could find solution for my special diet. I really aporiciate the efforts of lady at restaurant ' reception and chef. Subway station is in front of the hotel entrance. People's park is some minutes far fm the hotel. Leadtime of lift was never issue. Some people claimed about bathroom that no privacy due to glass window. We found the bottom to set the electric curtain, so we had privacy ;)

Not only in the hotel, but in all city only few people can speak english. If you use tranlation app it can cause some misunderstanding and takes a lot of time to manage the issues. Hotel must improve this as it was very frustrating. We had tight schedule.

Its nearby to TaikooLi and Chunxi Road with just walk within 10mins. Not even 100m reach train station. Super convenience.

We were happy with our stay overall. The room looks a bit outdated, but it’s well maintained and clean. Comparing to other Chinese local chain hotels, the quality of the room and service is much better, especially the breakfast, it had many varieties for both Chinese and Western styles, very good breakfast! The location is great, just right by the subway entrance. The 3 stars for the service is for the front desk staffs. They didn’t seem being well trained, looked cold and were not forthcoming, should have some smiles on the face at least.

During Winter Season there’s no Air Conditioner in the room

It's very pleasant to enjoy facilities of this accommodation that comfort my stay despite only one night stay. It's 24/7 fitness center and indoor heated swimming pool. The room is spacious, equipped with safebox, free 2 bottles of water. Transparent wall of bathroom with blackout curtain make atmosphere sexy/romantic for couples. Buffet breakfast is serve on lobby level with wide varieties of healthy and yummy food.

Room was clean with complete set of amenities.

We booked a room for 3 adults as we’re a family of 3 staying together. However, the bed (which was supposed to be a large king bed) turned out to be really small (comparable to a queen sized bed by international standards). As it was too small for us, we highlighted to the hotel manager. However, his service demanded improvement as he did not speak in a good tone. He also offered to give us a complimentary fruit platter but never delivered it. To be honest, we do not care about the fruit platter, but the fact that he did not fulfill his own promise is an indicator of a lack of sincerity towards his guests, which is very disappointing indeed.

The hotel has good location but the room is old and small.

Personnel is very friendly and willing to help. It is close to the city centre and you can order food that will be delivered at the front desk!

I asked for an early breakfast at 5:30, they agreed to give me something to eat. In the morning nobody knew of my request even though the person at the front desk left a written note at my arrival. Most of the personnel barely speak English. Given the early start, I asked in advance if it was possible to have a taxi and they said that I have to reserve myself. I suggest you to don’t even try if you do not speak Chinese ; ) I totally understand that in China they have different standard compared to Europe but I also believe that my request were quite basics for a 5 stars hotel.

This hotel can be reached via Chengdu Metro Line 2, Exit C of Dongmen Bridge station. It is right in front of the exit, making travel using public transport very convenient. In case you read any earlier review about the lack of airconditioner in this hotel, be assured there is. Buffet breakfast consists of a good spread of Chinese and Western menu. The hotel staff also responded and resolved very quickly to issues we encountered.

The hotel's location is ideal, with a subway station conveniently situated right in front of the building. Guests can easily access public transportation to explore the city.

Lobby bar needs more choices in beverages. Restaurant menu also needs more choices in Suchuan cuisine.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Chengdu and had a pleasant experience overall. Upon arrival, no staff member came to assist with our luggage. While this did not significantly impact our overall experience, it was a small letdown in terms of service. In summary, Holiday Inn Chengdu offers a comfortable and clean stay at an affordable price, with an unbeatable location in the heart of the city. Just be prepared to handle your own luggage upon arrival.
