Danny was the perfect host—our studio was spotlessly clean and beautifully prepared, even heated for our late-night arrival, with everything we needed: beach towels, full kitchen, outdoor seating and a hot tub. We’ll definitely be back and bring our family next time! ❤️

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026We had an incredible stay at By the Bay Beachfront Mangonui this week. Everything was perfect, from the room to the stunning location and breathtaking views. We had the entire place to ourselves, which made the experience even more special and peaceful. The spa pool was hot and ready for us as soon as we arrived, which was such a lovely touch. The fridge even had milk waiting for us, showing how thoughtful the host is. Speaking of the host, they were fantastic, very welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely consider coming back again. Highly recommend this place if you’re after a relaxing getaway with beautiful surroundings and excellent hospitality.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026I'd reccommend people stay with this host. I'd booked online in a mad rush while travelling for work. Didn't check my confirmation details correctly. Arrived late in the evening unable to access lockbox - sent a text to the host. Even though it was my mistake, Danny allowed access to the property. The venue was immaculate, considering the host was not expecting anyone and also wasn't onsite when I arrived, the studio was perfect. Everything was clean, and looked like they had prepared it for my stay. It was beautiful, relaxing, comfortable and warm.

We were having bad experience of double-booking in Paihia at that time and this is the only available property nearby. Had to have extra long driving but everything here is beyond our expectations. Thanks for Danny saved my holiday trip.

Only problem we encountered was with the bed that was a little like being in a rowboat. Location to amenities - it's in an area that has no immediate facilities like restaurants, bars, cafes and shops but is close enough to walk to these facilities in the surrounding area, so driving is not an issue.

Reviewed Sep 29, 2025The owner was very friendly and helpful. Great location right on the beach. The apartment is spacious and clean and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. A nice outside space to enjoy and the hot tub is a massive bonus.
We were told the floors are thin and any movement can be heard below. We have two young children so getting them to not run and jump and play etc is impossible. This created some stress having to tell them to stop constantly.

Parking/getting in and out of the carpark was a bit tricky when the complex was full. There were cars parked on the side of the driveway which made backing out difficult
