A really lovely small hotel. Clean comfortable room. Great location. Friendly staff

All really good

The room was very comfortable and charming. Nicely appointed and appreciated the drinking water, shortbread, iron and board, and shower products. The food was delicious, convenient, and reasonably priced.

My only criticism is 2 things about the bathroom. There was not an electrical outlet in the bathroom so I couldn’t use the blow dryer in the bathroom. Also, there was no exhaust fan or window to open, so it was very foggy after shower.

The large TV had poor or zero reception on most channels; no bathroom mat; disappointing 'full English' breakfast - rock-hard black pudding appeared to have been toasted!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were very pleasant. Room comfortable with excellent shower. Shortbread biscuits were a nice touch with large variety of teas. Would recommend

A lovely hotel. Our room was stylishly decorated and very comfortable. There was a well stocked mini bar and plentiful snacks to purchase. Additionally there were high quality toiletries in the bathroom. The staff were great. Breakfast was generous and of very good quality.

Unfortunately, the current renovations impacted our stay, with scaffolding and building materials outside our room/terrace. Even though we were disappointed by this, we liked the hotel very much and, should we return to Twickenham on another occasion, we'd have no hesitation in revisiting the Alexander Pope.

Staff were excellent throughout our stay. Food and drink variety was fantastic and all our meals were great. The rooms we had were perfect, really clean, comfortable bed and lovely selection of in room snacks and drinks (if you want them and all reasonably priced.)

We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms which was lovely. The air-con worked well and the room had everything we needed. Breakfast was great!

Only downside was the scaffolding outside our windows, but this didn’t impact our stay at all.

The place is amazing: clean, well lit, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

The bedroom was a good size and the bathroom was very nice with a monsoon shower. The mini bar was well stocked and there was a good selection of snacks. I also liked the fact that we had a balcony with a table and chairs. Breakfast was excellent and everything was reasonably priced.

Frisch renoviertes Zimmer, ich war der erste Gast in diesem Zimmer. Sehr geschmackvoll und cosy eingerichtet. Das Bad sehr modern und geräumig. Das Personal äußert freundlich und aufmerksam. Sehr gutes und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück, auch der Sunday Roast ist sehr zu empfehlen. Komme gerne wieder!

I booked a room with balcony overlooking the Thames, yes we got this room however was never informed at time of booking on the building works which are currently being carried out, the balcony would have been lovely however the hotel was wrapped with scaffolding so the view was litterally the scaffolding and the protective wrapping so couldn't even see the road let alone the Thames? I did book this room at the higher cost and of known about this probably would've booked somewhere else or another room without a view at a cheaper rate! On arrival we wasn't told about any works etc luckily enough it was Sunday and bank holiday monday so no actual works were being carried out, lastly I know this cant be helped however the police sirens lasted for hours going up n down past the hotel all night but tbh thats london for you!!

Refurb parking snd room mini bar not chilling

The location for our visit to Hampton Court was excellent. The staff were wonderful. Emma made excellent latte! She was also most hospitable and welcoming. The atmosphere in the pub was relaxing and the food was excellent.

Our room had very comfortable beds, the shower perfect. However, our small fridge did not work and we were not able to get it replaced. The taps in the bathroom sinks were difficult to manage…no pressure control and the hot water flow was extremely limited so it was rather frustrating.

The young waiter in the bar /restaurant was really helpful as we were in a hurry . He took our order promptly, served us a delicious sandwich with superb chips quickly and was really welcoming and thoughtful. A real asset to the establishment, I am just sorry I didn’t note his name , but I would like him to be informed that his good service was appreciated. Super comfy beds , a great nights sleep .

Lovely place, great location for us.

We were told that there is building work going on from 9am to 5pm and the prices would reflect this. We were woken up at 7.15am by hammering which was frustrating. At reception at check out all we were told is sorry. Not good enough.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very useful to have a lift to access the bedroom. We could not have been better placed to get to the centre of Twickenham and the river. We particularly enjoyed being so near Strawberry Hill House, the cafe of which we used every day it was open, and Strawberry Hill station, so much more pleasant than Twickenham station. In the heat of this summer it was a relief to come back to the hotel and the comfortable bedroom's quiet and effective air conditioning. The one meal we had was good.

We had a problem with the shower as we found water on the counter by the sink and on the floor every time it was used, which we dutifully mopped up. Eventually we realised that this happened without anyone being in the shower, the head of which must be set too high for the shower screen. We did tell the receptionist and she said she would let the management know. They were about to have work done on the hotel so it may be sorted soon.

Beautiful extra touches that increased comfort and made for a lovely stay.

It was like a building site. Hotel hadn’t let us know they were in the middle of a major renovation so when we arrived entire building covered in scaffolding , builders everywhere including right outside our window at 7am each morning. The drilling and banging started pre 8am. The room itself was dirty. Thick layers of dust / cobwebs in mirrors, frames and light switches. Yes building work will create dust but this room definitely hadn’t even been wiped down I would suspect in weeks. The windowsill was filthy with food crumbs/ crisps on it.

The location, the available venue and room facilities, and above all the reception and bar/restaurant staff.

Room fabric and fixings were tired and in need of refurbishment - en-suite sink basin was cracked, basin tap dripped and toilet seat was loose. Carpet was worn and paintwork was damaged in some places - especially door frames.

Attached to vibrant pub so can be noisy. Understaffed and staff surly. Hotel is tatty and need a complete re-vamp. Welcoming posset of cookies had no cookies in it - go figure. Breakfast buffet was a joke though cooked poached eggs OK. Brilliant location for the University but nothing would drag me back here at this price point. Used their charging points in the back carpark which was a plus.

Love the location, opposite the park and easy 10 minute walk into Twickenham town centre.

The menu isn’t as good as it used to be. It would be nice to have sandwiches or pizza , something to snack on especially whilst it has been so hot and the evenings are long and very warm, just to sit and snack and drink.

The property especially our bedroom needed updated, we were in room 23, there was a hole in the ceiling, one curtain was off the rail, the walls were marked as was the furniture. We waiting one morning 40 minutes for breakfast?

Floorboards from room above exceptionally loud. Hallways a little scruffy. Breakfast team a little stretched/lack lustre in service compared to evening. No games or cards on site?

The room was quiet and beautifully air conditioned. Mini bar was wonderful. Shower amazing. Blocked sink was fixed as soon as I mentioned it. Staff helpful and professional as always.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

For us, this was an excellent location, walkable and also on bus routes and near the train station (Strawberry Hill). Restaurant and pub here is great. Also, check out Parsnips across the street in the park for breakfast and lunch menu.

While the cooked breakfast had a great set of options to chose from, the choice of cereals, bread etc was very limited. There corridor to our room on the first floor had a sudden shower slope that was not marked and caused me to stumble several times.

I think the food was quite mediocre for the price charged.

The hotel is a little shabby but the staff are most helpful, location good and definitely good value for money.

Food was very good but after we had booked for Sunday roast but almost all of the roasts menu selections were not available.

Location excellent, very clean, comfortable bed, lots of extra thought in the room. Staff really helpful found us a room so we could check in early. Fabulous bar area. Thoroughly recommend.

We were initially given an uncleaned room. Bathroom was dirty, the linen had not been changed, the bins were full.....so we had to be given a different room from the room type we had paid for. Unlikely to be booking with them again. Hope this was just a bad day and not the norm!!

Great location

We arrived and wanted some lunch before heading to the rugby. We had to ask twice after 45 minutes where our lunch was given others after us had received theirs. It came just after an hour. We put it down to it being very busy, and decided to eat back there in the evening as the food although late, was very good. Unfortunately my starter of scallops arrived after our mains had come out. I appreciate they were busy, but it just seamed they are under staffed on a busy day with rugby going on, and my wife did say twice that the scallops where a starter. To top it off, the Aircon in the room had an alarm which kept going off, and the staff turned it off in our room on the hottest day of the year. they turned it back on and said if it happened again to turn it off at the fuse board. 10 minutes later it did so no air con all night. “Just turn it off in the main fuse board”, and that was it. 11.00pm fiddling with mains electric.

The bed was incredible! lovely bar and outdoor areas, exceptional for the price. Would stay again.

No coffee in the room, I think they must have forgotten to restock it. No major issue but we did miss it.

Good location, short walk to Twickenham High Street. The staff were friendly and tried to help with the issues we had.

The room we checked into was dirty with what appeared to be blood on the outside of the toilet (see photos) plus debris on the carpet. The staff member on reception confirmed the room had recently had some repair work. We were then moved to a new room, but the bathroom was also dirty with stains on the wall and around the toilet (see photos). We were heading out and didn't want to complain again, but we raised at checkout. The staff member on reception said the hotel has an external cleaning company, and cleaning of toilet walls is not part of their remit/contract. To be fair to the staff member, they took 10% of the bill, which we were grateful for, and also said they would raise with the cleaning contractor. It's a real shame as the pub area of the hotel looked great and the location was excellent. Just cleanliness let the hotel down badly.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Das Frühsück und das Abendessen waren sehr lecker. Das Hotel und der Pub waren sehr schön eingerichtet. Wir haben immer einen kostenlosen Parkplatz bekommen, entweder vor oder hinter dem Haus.

Lautstärke der umliegenden Zimmer und des Flurs, sowie der Verkehr in der Nacht waren etwas störend. Da es in London aber überall alte Gebäude sind, haben wir damit gerechnet.

High quality amenities; perfect serving; incredible breakfast; friendly and helpful staff; spacious room; good location; easily accesible place; calm neighborhood. Good conditioning system when cold and wet.

Water taps could be arrange to save water as the flow rate is too high. Could be served not only so much of eggs for breakfast though it was a very impressive serving. The light in the room was not acceptable to read. Could be served to rent bikes!

Lovely setting on River Thames that hotel does not highlight. Restautant was excellent - especially Breakfast. Excellent co-ordination pf Taxis and Rides to Heathrow.

TV was not NOT working in my room for my entire stay. Staff were well aware of the ongoing lack of TV service - but did not offer a discount when requeated.

The family room was spacious, neat and quiet.

We prearranged a 2 o'clock check-in for 2 of the family rooms we booked but on arrival no instruction were noted on the system despite triple checking with this male member of staff. After our engagement we went back to the hotel for a drink and the young barman was exceptionally rude! Our air-conditioning also did not work during this exceptional heat!

I booked a room Saturday; 1hr 7mins later I had to cancel it sadly, as my elderly mother with Parkinson's was told she couldn't leave the Royal Brompton due to her cardiac surgery yielding complications. I requested an exceptional circumstance refund - both via booking.com and via email, explaining the sudden change of situation. What sort of lack of humanity sends me a two-word message saying "Request declined"??? Cannot type a message to me, as I had to you, even if your poor empathy leads you to reject the request. You do not deserve business if you treat people like this. Are you only 'nice' when people give you money...? Shame on you. Zero stars.

A very comfortable bed. A good sized room with a beautiful balcony area. The bathroom actually had a bath rather than just a shower. 🛁🫧 We had a delicious fish and chip supper served by friendly and attentive staff.

One of the loos in the ladies toilet had a cracked seat. Parking was tricky because we were with a large crowd for a wake, both car parks were full.

Nice clean rooms although the window was left open so cold when arrived but closing and putting heating up sorted out for us. Personal preference I know.

Reception was a little underwhelming considering the ambience of the rest of the hotel
