Das gesamte Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Lage ist fantastisch (unbedingt den Sonnenaufgang nicht verpassen!). Alle Mahlzeiten waren sehr lecker und vielfältig, es hat nichts gefehlt. Die Pools sind sehr sauber und die Ausstattung im Poolbereich, sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, die Better bequem. Das Programm und die Animation haben Spass gemacht.

Die Zimmer könnten etwas moderner eingerichtet sein. Die üblichen Pflegeprodukte (z.B. body lotion, Ohrstäbchen, usw.) haben im Bad gefehlt.

We booked Hotek Riu in Madeira for my sister and dad's birthdays. We booked rooms with lateral sea view. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. There was a balcony was lovely to have a drink and admire the sea. The hotel is right on yhe waterfront and very close to the airport. The food was very tasty with ample choice. There's always loads. The A la carte restaurant on site can be booked once during your stay and is a lovely way to break up having a buffet style meals throughout. We really enjoyed our stay! The staff are super friendly and helpful. They were so efficient to clean uo used plates and top up our glasses. Very attentive! They also sent a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to celebrate the birthdays.

If I really had to then the shower wasn't great due to temperature settings and the shower did look ancient.. There isn't major change in the menu at the buffet, while it's super tasty, there wasn't like Asian style food added to the menu for a change.

The staff are highly qualified and very attentive. The room is spacious and very clean, offering a wonderful view of the ocean. The evening shows were entertaining. Overall, the hotel left a very positive impression. It is suitable for a quiet family vacation, though children might find it a bit boring, as there are no facilities for them (other than the pool).

The food was a bit too salty. The tennis court is in not very good condition. If you plan to play tennis, it is better to bring your own rackets, as the ones provided by the hotel are of poor quality.

Hotel nás velmi příjemně překvapil. Vzhledem k jeho velikosti byl výběr jídel opravdu široký a po celou dobu podávání jídla bylo všeho dostatek a bez větších front. Přes den bylo možné se občerstvit u bazénového baru, kde nechyběla zelenina, ovoce, kuřecí paličky, hranolky ani sladké pochoutky. Každý večer probíhal animační program – nejčastěji živá hudba a zpěv, taneční vystoupení nebo kouzelník, takže o zábavu nebyla nouze. Velkou výhodou je také blízkost letiště, odkud vyjde cesta taxíkem přibližně na 9 €. Personál byl po celou dobu pobytu velmi milý a ochotný. Potěšila nás také balená voda v PET lahvích dostupná na lobby baru. Příjemná byla možnost stolování venku a dostatek lehátek u bazénu, takže nebylo nutné si místa rezervovat brzy ráno. Parkování zajištěno v areálu hotelu. Celkově hodnotíme hotel velmi pozitivně. Nabízí dobré služby, kvalitní stravování, příjemnou atmosféru a za nás výborný poměr ceny a kvality. Pokud bychom jeli znovu na Madeiru, určitě bychom nehledali jiný hotel.

The staff were lovely and the facilities were great, very clean and great pool area

The average age was 80 during our stay, and as a young lesbian couple, we experienced a lot of other guests pointing, staring and making comments near us, which impacted our feeling of safety at the hotel. We would have liked to stay in the hotel in the evening and make the most of the all inclusive drinks, but it was hard to enjoy ourselves and relax when other guests were constantly watching and staring at us, so we ended up going out every evening, which wasn't an additional expense we had accounted for.

В третий раз останавливались в этом отеле, потому что он, пожалуй, лучший на Мадейре по соотношению цена/качество. На семью бронируем двухкомнатный номер с видом на океан. Он просторный и светлый с потрясающим видом. Питание разнообразное и свежее. В номерах чисто. Очень приветливый персонал. Удачная локация между аэропортом и столицей. В отеле можно взять машину напрокат и объездить весь остров. Также можно воспользоваться бесплатным автобусом для поездок в Фуншал.

Чудове розташування, легко і швидко добиратись з аеропорту. Своя парковка (8 євро на добу), місця завжди були. Шикарна і дуже різноманітна кухня! Чідові басейни і зона для засмаги та відпочинку.

Жодних розважальних програм, окрім вечірніх концертів кавер-бендів. Окрім смачно їсти, пити, спати, засмагати і купатись в басейні - тут більше нема що робити. Коктейлі на барі дуже посередні, навіть я б сказав погані.

En tant que portugais d'origine je trouve que le personnel pourrait employer en premier la langue du pays qui est le portugais, et seulement après parler anglais, allemand etc... Quand je vais en vacances en Angleterre ou la France je ne m'attends pas à que le personnel me parle en portugais. En revanche avoir du personnel qui est bilingue ou trilingue je trouve ça très très bien

Infrastructures supers ! Hôtel très agréable et très propre ! Nous y avons passé un super séjour !

Quelques points un peu dommage, mais qui n'ont pas gâché notre séjour : - la piscine ferme à 18h, c'est un peu tôt - début du déjeuner à 13h, un peu tard avec les enfants et pour faire des sorties ensuite - pas eu de chance certainement mais le cours de pilates n'a pas eu lieu ! - buffet qui propose beaucoup de diversité et certains plats sont très bons mais sur certains ingrédients la qualité est vraiment faible.

The location of the Hotel was very nice with direct access to the waterfront.

The room was very noisy. Isolation is very bad. We got a room above the restaurant and we could not rest at all because of the noise. Unfortunately, they did not have other available rooms, so we had to change Hotel after the first night. The quality of the food at the buffet restaurant was not very good.

Booked after our flight was cancelled late at night. Hotel would not accept your email confirmation and we had to wait nearly an hour for them to receive direct notification from you. We selected this hotel as wanted a junior suite - which we were charged for. However on arrival the reception staff said they had none of these left, so we received an inferior room. WE WOUDL NOT HAVE CHOSEN THIS HOTEL - totally misled by your website.

Hoeveelheid mensen, te snel afruimen van je tafel (als je nog eten haalt, heb je kans dat je tafel ineens weg is)

Alles was goed, mooi uitzicht, voldoende ligbedden, erg goed eten, prima plek t.o.v. luchthaven en als uitvalsbasis om te wandelen. Organisatie van hotel en faciliteiten ook erg goed. Over ieder detail was nagedacht en perfecte executie.

Geen opmerkingen. Enige kleine verbeterpunt is dat deel van het personeel iets meer oogcontact kan maken

Neben der guten Ausstattung des Hotels (Pools und Bars) fällt das Hotel vor allem durch sehr aufmerksames und freunliches Personal auf!

Was mir persönlich nicht so gut gefallen hat, waren die Essensbuffets, welche sich inhaltlich innerhalb einer Woche von den Gerichten her widerholten und in meinen Augen recht wenig abwechslungsreif waren. Teilweise bleib auch die Qualität des Essens hinter meiner Erwartung zurück. Die Auswahl der Nachspeisen fand ich überwiegend enttäuschend. Das Hotel eigene Restaurant ist hierbei explizit ausgenommen, hier fand ich das Essen hervorrangend!

Eigentlich alles. Das Hotel ist super für all inklusive. Nette Leute, guter Komfort. Preis Leistung ist sehr sehr gut.

-J’ai trouvé que le buffet était excellent avec beaucoup de variété et glaces veganes /options sans gluten. -Le petit buffet du café près de la piscine était très pratique quand on avait raté le buffet au restaurant principal. -Piscine extérieure chaufée était top pour nos enfants. Ils étaient très contents. -Piscine intérieure pour les jours de pluie. -La propretée des lieux. -Le personnel était sympatique.

-Le carrelage de la piscine intérieure était très glissant. Il y avait un advertisement visible sur une pancarte. On a évité de courrir mais malgré cela ma fille de 5ans a glissé en arrière et est tombée sur le dos. -Notre chambre était au -1. Il y a quelques fenêtres sans verre. Probablement pour aerer le couloir. Il y a eu quelques jours de vent. Il fessait froid et beaucoup de courant d’air dans le couloir. Je ne recommande pas de loger au -1 avec des enfants qui ont les cheveux humides après la douche ou qui logiquement ne mettent pas de veste pour se rendre au buffet. Si on aurait voyagé sans enfants, le courant d’air au -1 ne m’aurait pas dérangé.

Remek szálloda csodálatos helyen.Nagyon kedves személyzet ragyogó tisztaság,tágas szoba kényelmes ágyakkal.A napi háromszori ingyenes buszjárat Funchal közponjába egy nemes gesztus a szálloda részéről.Az étkezésekre jellemző volt a széles ételválaszték nagyon finom ízekkel lehetetlen volt mindent végig kóstolni.

Az esti műsorok kicsit unalmasak voltak.

Szép a szálloda épülete, szép a kilátás is. Közel van a reptérhez. Kedves, segítőkész volt a személyzet. Az ételválaszték megfelelő.

A szálloda az óceánparton van, nagyon szeles. A medencék vize hideg volt. A szálloda tele volt, így az étkezéseknél gyakran várni kellett szabad asztalra. Reggelente a takarítók zörgésére ébredtünk.

Le personnel a été formidable, jusqu’aux femmes de ménage. Service excellent, au buffet ou à table. Très grande variété de plats à chaque repas. Beaucoup de places pour rester au soleil. Bière et sangria à volonté et à toute heure.

Chambre côté nord un peu sombre, jamais de soleil. Piscines relativement petites, non chauffées et en mars, impossible de se baigner. Pas de plage. Cocktails peu alcoolisés et pas de qualité.

Good food and service by Reception, Dining & Bar staff, is severely let down by POOR EVENING ENTERTAINMENT!!! I have read many other reviews that state this, but RUI online reputation manager just repeats the same old thing, yet nothing is done! The music is so slow that the performers sing and completely dated. They play old songs from the 60s that are so slow. There are absolutely no dance tuned, and certainly no songs from this century! There is also zero engagement from the animation team. It’s clear that there is cutting corners. Some of the shows were like watching teenagers do very basic performances from their dance schools!! I also felt like that I was being entertained as though I was in an old people’s home! The only exception was the ‘Hot Cross Bun Band’ and the Elton John tribute. RIU Hotel Madeira needs to give its entertainment a real revamp and update, if it is going to attract new guests.Entertainment such a let down compared to the RIU hotel we visited in Morocco last year.

Das Hotel ist primär für bequeme und ältere Personen Anlaufstelle als Pauschalreise. Pauschalreisegäste erhalten ein weit günstigeres Komplettpaket als das mir gebotene. Die Küche war mittelmäßig.

Maria Belim, fantastic lady, I really cannot thank her enough in everything she has done for us. Prior to us arriving in was having a very stressful time on the riu app and im normally calm and collected, unfortunately my father passed away. The room is beautiful the staff have been fantastic, flowers arranged for my room are absolutely gorgeous. Its been a difficult week but the hotel staff again have been great. The food has been lovely and fresh. The cleanliness is outstanding, free bus into town very popular and a great facility to be able to use. Great service of hospitality in all areas. Highly recommend

Just returned from 5 nights at the Riu Madeira. A lovely hotel with each member of the staffing team a credit to the hotel. We had a sea view room which was comfortable and roomy & a great shower. Two beds pushed together wasn’t ideal for us but wasn’t an issue for a few days really. The buffet was lovely with plenty of tasty, healthy & veggie options along with a rather good rose wine :-) If we were to give one criticism it would be the poor choice of cocktails on offer, each was in our opinion sickly sweet and unfortunately the bar staff were unable to offer classics like a Margarita, Cosmopolitan etc which was a bit of a shame. That said, we had a lovely few days even though the weather wasn’t too good, and would certainly consider returning in the future :-)

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Meer. Mit dem Mietwagen fährt man ca. 10-15 Minuten vom Flughafen. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt. Das Zimmer und alle Bereiche im Hotel waren sehr sauber. Die Speisen im Restaurant waren abwechslungsreich. Das Personal war immer sehr nett! Im Außenbereich sind zwei kleinere Pools. Der vom Restaurant links liegende Pool war schön warm beheizt. Kostenfreie Parkmöglichkeiten befinden sich nur außerhalb des Hotelbereiches. Aber es waren genügend Parkplätze vorhanden.

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig! Mit Ohrstöpsel aber kein Problem 😊

Das bei den Essenzeiten meistens schon eine Stunde vorher Bereiche gesperrt wurden und schon für die nachfolgenden Mahlzeiten eingedeckt wurde, dadurch ziemliche Lärmbelästigung und man kam sich etwas überflüssig vor .

The food was not very good. Almost the same foods every day. The beds were uncomfortable, especially the kids sofa bed. No room service whatsoever, no top up of water bottles in the room during the whole stay.

Having previously stayed at a Riu hotel we decided to book this one for our holiday in Maderia, and we were very impressed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were all very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean and in good order and being Brits we appreciated having a kettle and drinks in the room! (There was also a fridge) We just had a standard room but it still had a view over the pools to the sea. It was nice to have a complimentary bottle of bubbly (in ice bucket) left in the room on my wife’s birthday too! The food was excellent, there was such a wide variety at all meals. My wife is vegetarian and always found something to suit. Top marks for the porridge at breakfast from me, thick and creamy as it should be! For us the location of the hotel is ideal. There’s a flat promenade just outside overlooking the sea, so we had a daily walk along here. We also ventured West, and found a few supermarkets, Indian, Italian and Sushi restaurants and an excellent bakery/cafe. Maderia is notably hilly/mountainous of course but it’s manageable here (we’re in our late 60s) and as far as we could tell all areas of the hotel were accessible by lift, including the pool area. One of the 2 outdoor pools are heated and swimming was fine in this one in January, but there’s also a heated indoor pool. There’s a gym too, if you’re so inclined! Funchal is about 30 mins away, there is a free hotel bus making 3 return trips daily, though you have to book at reception. There are also a few local buses that stop near the hotel. It’s also worth mentioning that the hotel is only about a 30 minute ride from the airport, which itself is less busy than for example, Canary Islands airports. This made the whole travelling experience a lot less tiring for us! Anyway…we so enjoyed our stay here that we have booked another week for later in the year!

Absolutely FANTASTIC..just got home from 2 FABULOUS weeks...this is the best hotel we've ever been to...it's about 25 minutes from Funchal..the airport side..so a very short journey from the airport...the hotel provides a shuttle bus service every day into Funchal..you get back on where it drops you off next to the fabulous market and near enough by the dock where the big cruise ships pull in..there are 3 buses a day..you book at reception when you want to go and return...You get the WOW factor when you walk in the hotel...it's absolutely brilliant... immaculately clean everywhere you look...the staff rate 100%...they are brilliant..nothing is to much trouble... reception go out of their way to help with everything..the restaurant staff are the same...you want for nothing...as for the food...there is something for everyone..a roast every night...snack bar by the pool...and an inside pool for the children when it's cold....nightime entertainment is average....you aren't going to get top acts in any hotel..and they do their best..the rooms are good quality..large bedrooms..again you go for breakfast..the rooms done when you go back...spotless ..there is a special restaurant that you can go to once in one week's stay...the menu is outside the restaurant...it's different and very good...if it's not your cup of tea..don't book it..we had a seafood salad...which was delicious..and then beef skewers...they were delicious...then choice of dessert...a lovely room..you have to book this ...no noise from other bedrooms....a good veranda..we had a side seaview room...a short prom to walk on...a cafe at the end and you can watch the locals swimming with no fear at all and kids just jumping into the lovely water...wind surfers ..fearless..it was excellent...safe deposit box is free...you pay 28 euros for 2 adults for one week's stay island tax then if you are staying longer..you pay no more... plenty of hot /cold drinks..snacks available day or night...my opinion..it's not a hotel for children...if they are babies they no know no different..it's not for teenagers either....it's for adults relaxing...and sightseeing and walking....that's what this wonderful island is...relaxing and walking and sightseeing...they are very welcome obviously..but..there's nothing for them to do only swim...if you go to this hotel...you are extremely lucky...and Funchal is wonderful..and ask reception about places to visit....you won't be disappointed.Value for money...you get what you pay for.👌🥂🍾

This is a great hotel. We were there in February 2026 for a week. Had a sea view room on the 7th floor - beautiful view and a lovely quiet spot. The room - spotless and cleaned daily. Towels and sheets can be changed as often as you want. Spacious with a large bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space, a sofa, balcony, large beds. Shampoo, body wash and conditioner provided alongside bath robes. The food - delicious with a good variety. Breakfast is a cooked breakfast, cereal, porridge, continental choice, pancakes, fruit, juice, cakes, yogurt. Lunch and dinner has lots of choice - roast meats, fish, pasta, freshly cooked meats and vegetables, pizza, soup, burgers, etc etc. The dessert table has cakes, ice cream, mousse, fruits, jelly, and desserts such as tiramisu, trifle, cheesecakes etc. The staff are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The facilities - there are 2 outside pools and an indoor pool with steam room. Lots of sun beds, a bar with terrace, a poolside bar with snacks, a well stocked gym. Around the resort there are coffee and soft drinks machines aplenty. All are well managed and clean. There’s a small walkway out the back of the hotel which is nice for a stroll. There’s a supermarket within a few minutes walk if you need one. We didn’t use the hairdressers or spa treatments but they are available. We didn’t go to the evening entertainment but some others we met there said it was good. Nearby - The hotel provide a free bus service into Funchal. Book it a day or two ahead. It takes around 20-30 mins. A great service. There’s also a public bus into Funchal which stops just outside the hotel. The statue of Christ is around an hours walk (uphill!) from the hotel. Overall, we really can’t fault it.
