In the chalet, the bathroom taps did not work and the microwave did not work.

Chalets are well equipped, safe and peaceful ✌️

We arrived at the chalets and there was no electricity. We were not informed at check in. I had to call reception to find out what was happening. If this is a regular occurrence, you need to provide lights or gas as alternatives not 2 candles 4 hours later. We were without electricity for more than 5 hours with no idea when it would be restored.

The pools and avalon springs

The unit is incredibly old and in need of a desperate maintenance. The bath/ shower was black with mould that we couldn't even use it. The bedding and beds had marks on it.

The place was a safe environment fir my grandchildren to play and explore on their own. The water was the perfect temperature.

No tuck shop

We loved the hot pools and the coziness of our accommodation and being surrounded by the beautiful mountain. Also great facilities for the kids - soccer, tennis, swimming and more!

The facilities are a bit tired - they've been around for years understandably. But all neat and clean.

The safety of my family was compromised whilst at the accommodation of Montagu springs resort, someone broke into our unit whilst we were asleep, leaving my family in tears and emotional, I woke up in a panic when I heard my wife scream when se noticed the man standing in our room next to the bed, I got up and he ran out by the opened patio door . Police had to come out, the whole ordeal left my family traumatised

The house was extremely old and dirty and insects that looks like roaches everywhere. Dirty old mouldy bathroom. And the house was definitely not cleaned before we came. I couldn’t wait to leave and go back home.

The power went off from 6 til 8pm but there was no provision made or late us no to bring lights with for power issues

It was clean and somewhat comfortable.

Our unit was outdated and dilapidated, there were remininace of the under cover braai area and the beds were lopsided and bedside tables were broken.

Scenic roads around Montague

The braai was filthy, and the one leg was missing, I had to use a brick to prevent it from falling over. The establishment is rundown and in need of a serious face-lift and maintenance. It was dirty. It used to be nice. Will never go back, and you do not have to block me from booking in the future it's a promise.

the fireplace was fantastic. the unit was cosy. the view was exceptional. the staff at the gate was friendly.

the book-in time is 3pm and you have to leave at 10am. it is always nice if the book-in time is 2pm. the unit was far from the swimming pool.

The peace and quietness

The facilities inside the chalet were not good , missing handles in the kitchen , aircon not working properly , hairdryer in bathroom not working. Mold in the shower . Tiolet ( cistern )water keep running .

There are a lot of options to choose from when it comes to the type of accommodation. The resort and the accommodation was neat, tidy and clean. The units had everything that you needed. I loved that the unit had a fireplace inside and a braai outside. It is awesome that there were decent windy dryers for the wet clothes. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful. It is a bonus to be able to go to the Hot Springs next door at no extra cost.

The units are slightly outdated. The bathroom and kitchen could do with an upgrade. There is no kiosk where you can buy emergency supplies like milk, coffee, tea, sugar, fire lighters, matches. Looked forward to the heated pool but it was out of order.

No access to all pools. Had to buy a day visitors band to access some pools. Seems better to book at Avalon to have full access.

Day-visitor pool facilities friendly staff, Cafe facility located at day-visitor pool entrance

Cottage needs serious attention - very old fixtures, fittings and furniture. Shower water out running under door. Loud music from "Plett-occupants" during day into late night. The heated pool for use by residents is over crowded, rather use the day visitor pool facilities(R100 per person p.d.)

Aircons in every room. Beds very comfy.

Bathroom need to be upgraded. Only one hot pool for the entire place. Airfryer needed.

Stayed at the Villas which look like they are due for an upgrade/update(?). Even so - the accomodation was very spacious and clean with good Aircon and decent WiFi. Comfy beds and good showers, walking distance to cold and small hot pool.

Perhaps access to Avalon Springs could be included in the booking price ?

I loved the homey feeling of the place I stayed in, it was spacious, clean, peaceful and relaxing. The cold pool was nice and clean, the security was very assuring and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The fact that there wasn't a heated pool close to my area, the only one heated pool made was quite a distance from my chalet. Old broken cupboard in the kitchen, and bedrooms. The maintenance of this kind of home could do some work.

I liked the location, we had the house on top of the hill. It was nice, clean and comfortable. We liked that we were not disturbed throughout our stay by anybody, which was nice because it felt like we were secluded.

The path up to the house was blocked off(stairs) which made us have to climb a steep hill. We did not like that the house had the twin bedroom(atleast give an option to change it from trin to double at guest request)

We had a lovely stay at Montagu Springs and really enjoyed the pools. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable visit.

Check-in was delayed even after 15:00 as our key was not ready, which was frustrating after already waiting. I also never received a response to my request for an earlier check-in.

Pools

Bed was not comfortable

Front desk staff was friendly and maintenance staff responded quickly. The location and setting beautiful and close to town and leisure activities.

The property harassed me to make direct payment to them even though I made full payment to booking.com more than a month in advance. They had a problem tracing the payment and made me feel uncomfortable with numerous requests to make payment and expected me to liaise with booking.com to sort them out. The property is outdated, not well maintained with damaged cupboards, old carpets, broken and missing blinds and toilet plumbing blockages. Villas were not equipped with an iron: they only have 2 irons to share amongst all accommodation units. Price point not worthwhile for state of facilities and amenities. Wild baboon troops gained access to the resort by our accommodation villas. The perimeter fence with barbed wire is ineffective and seemingly electric fence is not working or does not serve as a deterant.

The resort has recreational activities for younger children. The reception staff was friendly and helpful.

There was a mop at our entrance at 105.Upon walking in, one could see immediately that a major renovation is desperately needed in these houses. The cupboards are broken, the floor tiles are cracked. The kitchen is outdated and looks frail and dilapidated. The silicone lifts every where around shower edges. The matrasses and couches are slept through and sat through. Our backs are so sore from the uncomfortable " no sleep" matrasses and couches.The over all upkeep of this unit and 303 needs DESPERATE HELP. It needs a full OVERALL. Don't know what happened to this resort. As it used to be the go to "get away". Now we could not wait to get away from this resort. Truly very poor. 1/2 a star. If that.

Loved the hot pools. Spacious Villa. Beautiful views.

Villa smelt wet / like old dog. Lounge curtain kept falling off the railing. Couches looked tattered and dirty. Fridge made a loud irritating sound. Ensuite shower kept flooding like drain was blocked.

It was really clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

It is very dated and old for the price you pay forbthe accommodation. Freezer was frozen up and so icy we could hardly fir anything inside.

Right by the pool. Effective aircon in the living room. Undercover parking bay. Microwave had grilling option which was very handy.

Maintenance on the property is highly recommended. Freezer door did not close properly. The aircons in the bedrooms did not work.

Very old. Opened oven door and found it was broken. Kitchen old and outdated
