There is a lot to do and the restuarant is fantastic.

The breakfast was very good. There could have been perhaps an indication of the where the bacon and pork sausages was. Other than that, excellent. The pool I cannot describe. The experience says it all. The room was spacious and I enjoyed every moment in the room although it was short durations. Basically, only at night when sleeping.

The shower door was broken so when you shower everything outside was wet. They did told me that when we arrived and appologise. Not a big issue for they new beforehand. To clock out time of 10am is a bit of a hurry when you want to swim and use facilities to dry yourself in private and have a breakfast. Almost in a hurry. Perhaps move it to 11am. The fact that the food smell so nice what they made there. You just want to eat everything.

The Buffet Breakfast was fantastic. The room was clean. The staff were extremely friendly and the overall service was superb. Whenever we needed something for the room, it was a quick call to the Front Desk and within 5 mins it would arrive. Very Impressed.

Bedding and robes were old and tattered. The showers are terrible - poor water pressure and impossible to get the temperature right. It’s very noisy at night - lots of loud neighbours. Not a great place to stay with kids or if you’d like a good nights’ sleep

Mostly, it was fine. The room was, in effect, was a small hotel room. Obviously, most guests go for the springs and other amenities/facilities the resort has and that is, in part, what you pay for. The staff were very good, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, there was adequate storage, plenty of hot water, and, importantly, as it was cold, an air-con unit that also served as a heater. Parking is some way from the accommodation and there is no covered walkway, but there are staff on hand to help. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the breakfast very good.

We asked for a map but the front desk did not have one. When we went back they still did not have one. There was a balcony area outside our room but it was communal. This meant that the curtains had to be permanently closed for privacy. Parts of the resort looked a bit 'tired'. The rooms have been partially refurbished but at minimal cost. The new desk unit and bedside cabinets, for example, are the cheapest/poorest quality I have ever seen in any similar hotel or resort I have ever stayed in.

Too little activities.... almost all the hikes were brocken not a single bike with a decent working and comfortable seat.

Once again after quite a few visits, I thought it may be different after new owners. Even being hotel side and rules on boards there are no staff administering the rules. Guests shouting, smoking, drinking in the pools . Children jumping running screaming around. No change from before.

We didnt get much of an explanation on how the resort works.. had to find a few things out on our own.

The hotel & resort staff were helpful & very friendly. My husband’s birthday was made xtra special with a surprise happy birthday balloon , a reserved table for dinner , a gift bag with goodies , and a cupcake with candle . Thank you very much

We booked the room with deck and faced the back of the hotel with NO view. Would have chose a different room if I knew we wouldn't have any view. Room was very comfortable though.

Lovely property, plenty of pools with varying temperatures and overall layout allowed for great movement of crowds on a busy weekend. Staff were responsive to our requests when we required assistance. Generally we were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay!

Some renovations required in the chalet and room our group was in as things have become dated or worn. Some of the pool facilities require renovation, such as the in-door pool has minor chipped areas on the surface, and our jacuzzi needed cleaning with some sand in it. This though didn’t prevent us from still enjoying the water facilities. Some of our group, due to our own fault, unfortunately ended checking out 2 hours late on our stay, though at the time they were having scheduled spa treatments on the resort, and we were unfortunately charged a late check out fee, which I thought could have been reconsidered and waived.

Breakfast was very good and a great variety. Staff are super friendly and well trained.

Was not allowed to rehydrate in the hot pool ......with water No microwave in the one room and when we changed there was one. The USB port was out of order in one room and not the other.

We had a birthday here and the Avalon Team went above and beyond to accommodate the small group of kids. They made up a birthday table and even gave my son a gift. Very, very thoughtful and kind folks. Thank you!

The building is dated and noise from pipes in the walls at night disturbed my sleep.

It was an absolutely incredible experience, my partner and I needed that relaxation, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the resort has just about everything you need.

Two things. The hot water in the shower takes a while and sometimes doesn’t get to a good level of heat, our mini fridge was leaking in our room which made it a little uncomfortable but those were minor complaints.

We loved the apartment - we luckily got one very close to the escalators and didn't need the golf cart. Pools were absolutely excellent and exceeded our exptations The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed except for the braai rooster - there wasn't one that you can turn with a handle.

No latch on bathroom door to keep it closed from the bedroom side.Let in light while trying to sleep

Sorry but then toiletries not userer friendly, need to be shower gel and shampoo 🧴 etc... Gowns are a nice compliment but it's Very scruffy against the skin and towels needs to be more fluffy and comfy please 🙏 Spa pool right on top against the mountain should have security late at night please 🥺 that's the hottest bath pool and Very very nice late at night..but ABIT scary alone 😞...

Food is really very good. Breakfast was amazing. Linens were very white.

I loved the heated pools and that the pools are open 24hrs. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.. Avalon is also very accommodating to their guest and all their needs. I would highly recommend the place and would 100% be coming again.

Hotel bedrooms do need a revamp. But it is still very nice and clean.

Avalon is always a place we loved and would return anytime. The best time to visit personally is Autumn, Winter and Spring. The hot water is so soothing and relaxing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We would return anytime

The friendly staff makes the trip always extra special. It was my birthday & the barman Franklin was super attentive & Celeste & Beatrice at the restaurant was so kind & gave us superb service. Really appreciate the large television in the garden cottage . My 10 year old son could enjoy the resort without me supervising all the time which gave me a well deserved break, so safe for kids & the reception always so helpful when he went to ask for assistance

Everything was clean. The unit we had, had a closed jacuzzi which is better than the rest of units. The atmosphere was just amazing. Enjoyed it

Overall experience was very good. Swimming pools and location are excellent. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast, which was included, was excellent. Room met all our requirements

Check-in could possibly be better. We had to ask if we could have some of the complimentary sherry on display. Staff was very friendly though.

Food is horrible. I ordered a vegetarian wrap and all the lettuce was brown. Quality is poor. The floors in our villa was sticky so not properly cleaned. It requires a scrub.

I would like a small kitchen sink with a tsp in the little kitchen area.

I prefer more swimming space in the pool area. Theirs only space to relax in the heated pool section. But not rely on swimming space.

Reception staff very unfriendly and unhelpful.. never asked for inter leading rooms got a room with only one side able to lock .. checked in at required time of 15:00 but only settled at 16:00 because card didn’t work my wife returned to reception who said it was working my wife returned to the room the card didn’t work light red not blue .. cleaning lady assisted she also confirmed room card was not working my wife back to reception .. staff too lazy to come assist .. toilet door unhinged not private at all … luckily we only stayed overnight

We love everything about the resort.

Personal care and attention I received from friendly, informative, helpful, professional staff. The room I was in, was absolutely amazing, spacious with everything one could need. I will definitely be returning to this spectacular getaway amid natural surroundings. For me, it was like a healing retreat. The buffet breakfast had all that one could wish for.

Die Hotelanlage war für den Preis ehrlich ein Traum und wie geschaffen für 1-2 entschleunigende Tage. Kinder, die gerne schwimmen, kommen auf ihre Kosten und das ohne Sorge, bei dem warmen Wasser.

Die Zimmer sind abgewohnt und dunkel, aber nicht writer schlimm.

I loved the Chalets your own piece of peace ...pools is nice only one suggestion for teenagers for a much deeper pool to swim

The warm pools are lovely to sit and soak with different pools and different temperatures. It is very child friendly atmosphere with a "kids club" organizing different arts and crafts, sports, and other activities. The buffet breakfast is great as is the pool bar.

The dinners at the restaurant were just ok. Better off eating dinner in town rather than the resort.

The kids had a blast. Spacious room. We enjoyed seeing the Dassies everywhere.

We couldn't find a truly hot hot tub.

There were many positives. My family and I truly love visiting Avalon Springs, it feels like a home away from home. The massage was wonderful, and the spa staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The pools were great as always, and the children’s activities were fantastic. My 6-year-old especially enjoyed the day-side activities. Breakfast was also excellent, and both my children really enjoyed it. We will definitely return.

We recently stayed at Avalon Springs for two nights in the Garden Suite. Overall, our experience was good, but there were a few issues that need attention. When we arrived, the front stoep had not been swept and was quite dirty, which was disappointing as a first impression. At the indoor pool, the toilet area was unhygienic, with human waste next to the toilet. Unfortunately, my daughter could not use the facility, which was very inconvenient. After returning from breakfast, housekeeping had already serviced our unit, but a bucket of dirty water was left by the door. My 3-year-old was very eager to play with it, which was concerning and could have easily become a hygiene or safety issue. One experience that stood out was with a staff member at the bar. While walking from the day facilities in the evening, I asked if we could enter through the bar side since the gate indicated “hotel residents only.” The gentleman simply shook his head and went back to his phone without any explanation, which felt quite dismissive. Later, when I approached the bar to order a cocktail, the same staff member avoided assisting me and asked another barman to help instead. This made us feel unwelcome, which is not what we are used to at Avalon Springs. I hope management addresses these concerns to maintain the high standard we’ve come to expect.

Celebrating my 50th Birthday couldn't ask for better, We really enjoyed the Scenic View of the mountain cabin wich was Clean, well-equipped, spacious for 2 x couples and had comfortable rooms each own ensuite and the hot tub for relaxation was a bonus Access to well-maintained beautiful pools, hot and cold, was a significant highlight. We had excellent service from the friendly and professional staff who enhance the experience Great value for money

As a group we agreed that paying R135 for a normal cocktail was way overpriced...

Chalet nio 627 has hundreds of stairs to access. Quite impossible for older people. Makes all the good points bad points!

We love the warm pools. Water temp perfect. Clean and tidy. Staff work hard to make sure the place is kept spik and span. Love the aircon in the rooms. Beds comfy.

Staff at cafe very slow. Orders take too long. Bar service also slow. Only one barman on duty. Breakfast croissants not like they used to be. Taste like they made with margarine.
