部屋の備品や立地、スタッフさんの対応などとても良かったです
強いて言うなら、駐車場が少し停めにくいけど、なんとかなります!
Close your everything. Kitchen facilities great, modern and cosy, friendly, family orientated. Close to great old onsen.
No breakfasts or food as we were off season.
部屋広い!そして綺麗!
大浴場が欲しかったです!
De tudo Instalações, atendimento, conforto Foi tudo maravilhoso
De nada Tudo perfeito
The location was great for walking to the village centre (5 min walk) and to the gondola for skiing (15 min walk). The staff were available to answer any of our questions and spoke English. We stayed late in the season and decided to eat breakfast in the village so can't comment on that. Beds were comfortable and room a great size for 2 adults and a teen. Having our own mini-kitchen was great and it came with good quality coffee pods and teas, cooking oil and vinegrette. I would definitely stay again!
A clearer map for how to get to the hotel. The streets are a bit of a maze and Google maps wasn't helping when lugging heavy luggage in the rain. We got there in the end!
Very comfortable property with large rooms and great views from windows.
Spacious well equipped clean apartment
Draughty front doors close to breakfast area
Great location, great restaurant downstairs. Laundry is free which is nice.

Rooms
Staff, not helpful
We had the 4 bedroom apartment with 2 couples so we were spoilt for space. That said, the apartment was very well appointed with one of the best kitchen setups we have encountered in any vacation apartment. The laundry is well laid out. It is perfect for families and EACH bedroom has its own on-suite bathroom, shower and in the case of the Master Bedroom a tub too. Staff were a nice mix of expats Kiwis and Ozzies and Japanese too so English communication was simple. There is a lift too, but if this is your first time in Nozawa Onsen, be aware that the town is basically a collection of hills and slopes so getting to and from the bus station to the apartment will require some steepish ascents and descents on concrete and gravel sections.
The penthouse was very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, would fit 8-10 persons easily, washing machine & dryer, en-suite toilet in each room, lovely living area, amazing views from the windows, staff were amazing, Yamato luggage shipping option, two onsen that can be used privately.
Breakfast please.
Clean and well kept
The breakfast area was hardly open. No washing machine in the 2 bdrm apartment
The cafe was closed. Unexpected reasons.
Breakfast as it was a difficult walk to town.
The staff, the shuttle, the onsen (hot spring), and the room—all come together perfectly.
The room is amazing, beautiful view and really nice setup.
I loved the facilities and my room - mostly the staff were outstanding - welcoming, helpful and happy.
The walk up the hill - I’m not very fit!
Nice hotel with welcoming Australian staff. The Onsen was closed when we got there which was disappointing because it was one of the reasons we chose this location. The staff was kind and let us use their sister hotels facilities so it ended up being fine. The room was nice and had everything we needed.
The hotel rooms were far better than expected with its own living room, kitchen and seperate bedroom. The hotel was great and so was the private onsen.
Nothing
Vraiment un charmant hôtel avec tout ce qu’il faut et ++ pour les voyageurs. Nous avons tout aimé !
Spacious and comfortable clean apartment room; good amenities. It's nice to have Nespresso in the room too. Would stay again.
The cafe has odd hours in the off season- there was a bit of confusion about do you want to book breakfast etc and I assumed that's because it's so busy, but maybe that's because it is not really open. We didn't really want western breakfast anyway, just telling others.
Friendly staff, beautiful facility
Cleanliness

Lækkert værelse. Kæmpe stort, og veludstyret.
Det er lidt en spøgelsesby om sommeren
Outstanding Design! Super comfortable room and an amazing bed! The Restaurant in the house is led by a very welcoming Australian Gentleman and his wife - food and sweets can be recommended! The Onsen town is lovely and very alive for rural japan - even in the summer!
The place is well designed and very comfortable. A good option for a comfortable stay.
Room was not made up in three days ... despite our requests. End of season ... no one cared any more. Distance from lifts is not short. Need a ride. Make sure you have a car.
The location the staff are excellent
The attention to detail was amazing! Everything was lovely, thank you!
Such a gorgeous place. We had great views of the mountains too from the windows. The kitchen is well equipped. Staff is the best - so helpful and prompt in their responses. We were there for 4 days (2 adults, 2 kids) and we also enjoyed in the family private onsen
Modern renovation of a traditional ryokan - Japanese chic with lots of added facilities that would make a longer stay enjoyable (mini kitchen, comfy bed on tatami, communal lounge/cinema room). Staff were friendly and take an interest in the guests. We were truly impressed.
It leans towards the pricier side for the winter season.
Very friendly and efficient service. The appartement was newly renovated and well furnished. Location is great to walk in the city and head to various restaurants. It is a 15mn walk to the main gondola though. The hotel provides a shuttle in the morning but none to return. We enjoyed the coffee shop on lobby level. It is a gaijin friendly venue
Black out curtains in the room are needed. The venue has cosy family private sento which we enjoyed yet no onsen.
The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The apartment was superb!
If they could better maintain the common washing machines/dryers, that'll make the stay perfect.
The room is incredibly cozy, modern and clean, elevated with an amazing view. Plenty of space with excellent amenities. Very nice cafe just downstairs as well as very helpful and friendly staff. Location is awesome too, walking distance to literally everywhere
The place is amazing—nothing I can complain about. However it does leans towards the pricier side
Kawamotoya is a beautiful hotel nestled in the heart of Nozawa Onsen. Due to an injury I sustained, I needed to move my trip out by 2 months - the staff happily assisted with this. On that note, that staff were excellent - always happy to help out and provide tips and pointers regarding things to do. Breakfast at Harding's cafe was good - the chef's happily swapped out bacon from the dishes and replaced it with salmon to assist with dietary requirements. Note that Kawamotoya has 2 private onsen's which are open 24 hours. This is what truly makes the stay special. I know that Japanese cultures values public bathing, but as a muslim where modesty is key, a private onsen allows one to still enjoy the experience without having to worry about any values being comprimised. Additional items we enjoyed: - The rooms were spacious and well equipped - The washing machines and dryers were free to use during the green season
Will only list 2 points which can potentially be improved upon: 1. Room service is scheduled every three days which can be a bit tricky if you're coming from a hotel with daily room service 2. Breakfast options are slightly limited - a la carte items are mainly savoury in nature, and guests are limited to one drink valued at 550 yen which can be a bit stifling (a hot chocolate is 600 yen)
Hardings the food was excellent
Brilliant modern renovation of a traditional ryokan - modern Japanese chic with lots of added facilities that would make a longer stay enjoyable (mini kitchen in the bedroom, communal lounge/cinema room with surround system off the lobby). Breakfast was great value and very, very tasty. Proper barista coffee too. Staff friendly and take an interest in the guests. We were truly impressed.
We could only find one restaurant open in town - if dinner had been available in the hotel, we'd have jumped at the chance.
A 5 star rating is not enough for this hotel and the people there! I would give them 10 if I could!! 😃 An absolute jewel in Nozawaonsen with the mist wonderful staff and accommodation you could find! Take a bow, Kawamotoya! 👏🏻
Our only complaint- we didn’t stay long enough! 🙂
All
Brilliant. Beautiful rooms, affordable during the green season and right across from an onsen. The staff is kind and helpful. Just great.
Great location, clean and modern. Very close to near hot springs
Nothing.
a perfact spot perfact staff best breakfast ever...thanks to the auzzie chef highly recomended
The private onsen, the flexibility, the kindness of the staff
None
Stylish apartment
The staff, the room and the breakfast.
Location could have been more central.
- The room is spacious - breakfasts and coffee are delicious - There have private sauna in the hotel, good enough for families and groups
- if cleaning service can be made by request on guests would be better than once in 3 days stay
Well located inn. Comfortable beds and linens. Breakfast was well executed and well portioned.
The property, though well appointed, did not convey a japanese onsen resort experience. Rather, it conveyed a mix of east meets mostly west resort experience. Housekeeping level and service was an issue - cleanliness and lack of attention to detail does not measure up to the price point of competing Japanese owner operators of other establishments in the area. Room ergonomics not well conceived and a lack of sufficient garment hanging hooks and hanging space for clothing was an issue. Some amenties such as the gym and laundry seemed to be shared with off duty working staff.
Everything was amazing, food, location, beds.
Nothing
the design. The front desk is really helpful and with patience. Shuttle service is also a plus.
suspect sign of racial discrimination at the cafe in lobby. Since the cafe was short-staffed during breakfast and no water was served on my table, my simple attempt to get some water unexpectedly turned into a lesson in English etiquette:A cafe staff with bushy beard, in his infinite wisdom, deemed it necessary to "correct" my barbaric attempt at communication, enlightening me on the "proper" way to articulate my thirst. The truth is,without bothering busy staff there, all I tried was to get water by myself. Since the bushy beard stood in the way to kitchen, I explained “I need to get some water”which sounds like a huge offense to him. He frown upon “ Would! You! Please! Give! Me some water! Use Please! Not I need to get some water blah blah…..” At first I thought he was nothing but a racist guest. When I recognized he was one of the staff here, such attitude would be more than rudeness as one in service business. True hospitality is about respecting and understanding the unique backgrounds of each guest, not about schooling them to conform to an arbitrary standard of communication. I earnestly hope Kawamotoya takes this feedback to heart, embracing a more welcoming approach towards guests from diversed culture
Great hospitality, great onsen nearby, and a good private onsen inhouse. Great breakfast, too. We did come back for the second year.

I thought the service, thought not to Japanese standards, was decent from a North American frame of reference. The front desk team was helpful and kind. The room was basic, but very clean.
The overall hotel experience had some remnants of Japanese authenticity, but was overwhelmingly international and more akin to something you would find in North America or Australia. This was disappointing for us, but perhaps what the majority of Nozawa visitors are looking for?
Very pleasant. Location is in the heart of the city The lift up the hill in the morning made the access to the skiing simple and the walk down the hill in the evening was through the village and all the shops. Dangerous to the pocket. Wonderful cafe in house providing great breakfasts The Blat was extraordinary, had it every day. The family loved all the cakes, unfortunately this meant multiple deserts per night.
One side of the bed has the aircon And cage Not too great if you are tall.
This was amazing accommodation. The beds were great, the room was spacious, breakfast was amazing and the staff and facilities were excellent.
Rooms, amenities and food onsite were fantastic.
A little far from the hill but found out a couple of days in that they offer a free shuttle anytime. This service was great but wish we had been told about it during check in.
One of the nicest places in Nozawa Onsen! Super comfortable and big for the area.
It’s relatively far from the ski hills although they do provide free shuttles in high season.
Spotless clean, well equipped kitchen, great hot pools on site plus a public onsen two steps away, lovely and helpful English speaking staff, delicious pastries at the cafe, very quiet (although we didn’t have any neighbours during our stay), perfect location to see some stuff in the area within an hour drive, free laundry facility, very comfortable beds. In short, we had an amazing stay and will gladly come back. This is a very well run property.
location and breakfast nice , chef and staff all friendly
Everything was absolutely amazing. The staff was friendly and even waited for us after their working hours. The food was high quality and delicious. Spacepus room with Japanese vibes. Loved the yukatas and the onsens. Absolutely amazing!
A perfect hotel.all the rooms are big and equipped with everything.the stuff is very helpful.
I loved the hospitality from start to the end. Especially loved how Hannah from reception supported my questions prior to arrival, and Chef Harding and wife for the amazing breakfast every morning!
It was slightly difficult to navigate the narrow roads leading to the hotel, but no issue if we went slow. The toilet cubicle was also quite small, but not a major issue.
I love the windows are big on both walls, and can open for fresh air. Kitchen is very useful with dinning table, bed is comfortable and decent size. Family room has fun board games to play.
The curtains are not blackout, but there are eyeshade provided by the property which is helpful.
clean and friendly
Staff, location and breakfast was awesome.
pillow size too big, not comfortable for sleep.
exceptional property and breakfast.
Separate bedrooms with en-suite bathroom. High-tech stove with a huge countertop. You can watch your favourite film or drama while snuggling in your bed. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not a buffet but a good hearty breakfast. The coffee was decent.
The fridge is tiny compared to the vast high-tech stove top. The gym looks abandoned. One of the washing machines is not working. Parking space is rather small.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was so beautiful with cool amenities and there was an incredibly delicious and filling complimentary breakfast.
I liked everything about this place.
great facilities and assistance from the staff.
the staff were so friendly and helpful - especially James. he went above and beyond.
Amazing!! The room and all the property were amazing. The best we could have ask for in this amazing and small town. The stuff was super super nice, especially James at the front desc that help us with everything we asked. The breakfast was great!!
Nothing!!
Almost everything! Friendly staff, great facilities and beautiful aesthetics.
Beds were very hard and the blinds were not very dark, so you can’t avoid the morning light. Also the onsen was not as nice as others around despite staff saying it was the best in Nozawa.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, assisting me with booking activities via email before I arrived. The breakfast and coffee were great and the room was fantastic.
everything was amazing, the layout of the apartment was spacious and the beds were so comfortable. the staff were so warm and welcoming. The chef at the property Darren makes the best breakfast not to mention an amazing human being who made our stay extra special.
nothing
A stunning apartment. Luxuriously sized bed with awesome bedding. Netflix in both the lounge and the bedroom. Coffee machine and lovely breakfast. It was Heaven. Was at the base of the village so a long walk up to the ski lifts, solved by transferes at any time in the van. In house private Onsen for those who are too shy to bare all in the ones in the village.
The cleanliness could have been better. Quite dusty and some of the knives had been used and just put back into the knife rack dirty. A small gripe.
