The entire resort was so beautiful and relaxing
Everything was perfect
We had a great stay overall. The property was beautiful, comfortable, and provided a wonderful atmosphere for our trip. The staff and amenities made our experience enjoyable, and we had a great time.
The only challenge was that it was a little difficult for our group to get to one of the restaurants together. Accommodation for larger groups was a little more difficult
Italian restaurant The seafood bar Are the outdoor bars We're excellent and delicious.
The buffett was a little dirty, chef name susie was cross contaminating food.
Location and staff was great
I don’t like just my room it supposed to be ocean view I had only part view to the left
Ultimate relaxation, excellent service and food and drinks were on point. If you are looking for a romantic getaway....this is your place. Clean, hospitable, hard working people make your stay memorable.
From the moment I arrived I felt the atmosphere was welcoming, the rooms were clean, the restaurants were delicious, the staff was smiling, drinks we’re delicious, the weather was incredible, and we even got to see turtles hatch on the beach. A magical place without a doubt
The resort was unfortunately not at all what we expected. The restaurants were very unaccommodating, and the food was disappointing across the board. The property also did not feel as clean as we expected, and overall, the staff did not seem very willing to help or accommodate guests with their needs. We were hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation, but unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing.
Emmanuel for entertainment at the main pool was THE BEST! Super funny, nice and brought the best vibes! The resort should let him do more and not so restrictive. The people love the entertainment and we’re daily wanting an encore of dancing!
We were very pleased with our 7 day experience at Secrets The Vine. The staff was terrific! Everyone from reception to wait staff to bartenders to housekeeping to the entertainment crew was just excellent. We upgraded to Preferred Club and were very happy with our large and spacious room on the 21st floor, and with the Preferred club lounge. The personalized service from the Preferred staff was great! The food was very good. We ate breakfast and lunch at the Market Cafe buffet every day and could not have asked for a better selection of great tasting food. We had dinner at Dragons ( Asian), Olio (Mediterranean, Preferred club guests only), and Sea Salt Grill ( Peruvian). We enjoyed them all. Don't miss the Sunday night buffet at Sea Salt Grill, a wonderful choice of grilled meat from shrimp and fish to ribs and steak. Evening entertainment was enjoyable and well put together. We used the gym every morning and it as very nice. Lots o equipment and space. Everything seemed to be fairly new and well maintained. the choice of three pools on ground level was nice, all offered a different vibe for your mood. The Preferred Club pool was on the 12th floor. We only visited it once. It was nice but very secluded and not many visitors seemed to be using it. The ground level pools were much more fun for us. There seemed to be plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas available for all guests to be accommodated. We would highly recommend this resort and will return in the
This visit exceeded all our expectations. The hotel was phenomenal, and the staff was exceptional, especially Jorge (Bluewaters) and Bruce (our Butler)
We decided to stay here for a short 3-night trip to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We were married at Secrets Maroma in 2011, and since The Vine is much closer to the airport, we figured we would give it a try. I reached out to the resort ahead of time and let them know we were celebrating our anniversary, and they were really great about acknowledging it and making us feel special. Overall, the hotel is nice, but it is definitely showing its age and could use some TLC. Many of the pool umbrellas were either ripped or broken, and while the pools themselves were nice, there were quite a few missing tiles. I also noticed some black discoloration in a lot of the grout lines around the pool, which I assume may be mold or mildew. It wasn't exactly what you expect from a luxury resort. The food overall was good, and the steakhouse was excellent. We didn't have to wait for a table because during the day the servers walk around offering bottles of wine, and if you purchase one, you can get right in. We bought a bottle of Whitehaven for $110. For comparison, that same bottle is around $15–$17 in the U.S., but hey, it was our anniversary, so we figured, why not? They decorated our table for the occasion, and the service at the steakhouse was really good. The food was delicious and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Room service, however, was a different story. We ordered dinner the first night and it took about an hour to arrive. We also ordered breakfast one morning, which took over an hour as well. The app and confirmation call both indicated a 40–45 minute delivery time, so the wait was disappointing. The biggest disappointment actually came on our last day. After checking out, we were approached by a representative about booking future stays at a discounted rate. They showed us a list of all the Secrets properties and explained the differences between "Luxury" and "Ultra Luxury." Secrets Maroma, where we were married, is considered Ultra Luxury, while Secrets The Vine is classified as Luxury. After seeing that comparison, I have to be honest: based on our experience, The Vine felt more like "Luxury" on paper than in reality. Having stayed at Maroma previously, the difference in overall condition and upkeep was pretty noticeable. That said, we had a good anniversary trip, the staff were generally very friendly, the steakhouse was excellent, and the resort has a great location close to the airport. But if you're choosing between The Vine and one of the higher-end Secrets properties, I would probably spend the extra money and go with one of the Ultra Luxury resorts—especially if you're expecting the same experience as Secrets Maroma. For us, The Vine was a good place for a quick 3-night anniversary getaway, but I don't think we'd choose it again for a longer vacation.
Great place for a quiet very comfortable vacation with luxurious ambiance and unmatched service staff always smiling and always willing.
Pros: The hotel is clean and the staff are very helpful. The food was generally good. Cons: Even with the preferred club level, only very limited liquor options and not premium at all. I contacted the resort before booking and they told us that if we booked Preferred Club our drink preferences would be available, however when we checked in the Preferred Club offered what would be considered well liquors and the regular bars had no name tequilas, rums, and vodkas. The restaurants were only open on certain nights and there was no rhyme or reason for when they would be open. For the ones thar were open, you can only make reservations if you buy a bottle of wine, so the wait to be seated was 30-60 minutes each night without reservations. If you are not looking for an extremely quiet romantic vacation, do not go here. We went as a family and it was almost all couples and little to no entertainment during the day or night. This was our 10th or 12th all inclusive and I have never experienced an all inclusive that was completely quiet with nothing to do at night. We talked to many other guests that were very disappointed in the lack of entertainment or things to do at the resort. Overall, it did not feel like a 4 or 5 star resort, it felt like the hotel was cutting corners to save money. We were told that they used to have better liquor options in the past and it was strange that restaurants were only open on certain nights. Also, I have never been approached so many times to buy wine or pay for special dinners. I think they should spend less on the concierge or butler staff and invest more in entertainment people and experiences.
The property was clean, but from the moment you arrive, they try to upsell you. We paid extra for an oceanfront suite only to find out that all oceanfront suites have air conditioner problems, and our refrigerator didn’t get cold. We were tricked into attending a vacation club sales scam on our first day at the property. No one goes on vacation to be scammed out of their time and thousands of dollars. The pool areas were nice, and the service was good, but there is definitely no free entertainment here. If they have a show, you will have to pay to get in. When I was checking out, I was overcharged by hundreds of dollars on my credit card, and when I complained, I was told the money would be refunded in a week or two. The transaction was reversed, but the fees were not.
We have been coming to the Vine for years. We had some confusion over our room when we first arrived. The hotel staff did make the room situation right. I would like to thank Sebastian from the PC and Sandra from UVC for helping us. As always the staff at the Vine goes above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We travel a lot but make a point to always come to the Vine once a year primarily for the amazing staff and service. I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention the great addition of the mentalist Armando. He is great! Was like nothing I have ever experienced before!
The hotel is in a great location at the Hotel Zone, easy access via the R1/R2 bus into party centre and shopping malls. Relaxing atmosphere but with plenty of entertainment both during the day and evening. The entertainment team work very hard at all times. The professional shows and Acts are excellent. We tried all the restaurants and our favourite was Olio Mediterranean Cuisine on the 12th floor, the food was outstanding, Cesar the waiter was brilliant and introduced us to 2 of the chefs that cooked for us, one being Chef Jamie who cooked a delicious Rib Eye steak. The manager Luis was also very appreciative that we had visited the restaurant 3 times during our stay. The room were really clean and it’s a credit to the housekeeping staff. We stayed in a Delux Ocean View King room and couldn’t fault it. The staff in general can not do enough for you, tips are not compulsory however it is really appreciated if you do tip. Overall a fantastic holiday and would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Not a fan of the patio where you can hear and see neighbors. Food is just okay. Too mellow not lively. I would not stay here again.
We loved this resort. We have been to so many all inclusive hotels and this exceeded our expectations. We will be back for sure
The Resort was a beautiful place staff was nice the property was clean it was price friendly
The restaurants were all horrible
Alt
Burde vært mer meksikansk mat, men de hadde nok!
Great hotel for relaxation and rest. Great space for rest, not a let of hustle and bustle. The spa was phenomenal and the hyrdotheraphy.
Overall a great experience. About a 20 minute ride to downtown Cancun. Great food at the resort. We didn’t like that they required long pants in 2 of the best restaurants on the property.
Great swimming pool and dining experience on the 12th floor. Hotel is full of very clean and enjoyable swimming pools. There are plenty of food options and the hotel is located very close to the mall.
The best trip for me. The customer service was amazing, the food was delicious. The specialty dinner at the Olio that managed by Luis Mejra was the absolutely the best. Our concierge Agustin was so helpful friendly.
Not sure where to start with the excellent reviews. Couldn’t wait to post the review before ending our trip, but there are so many excellent people here. It is a chill vibe perfect for mostly 30s and up. We had a fantastic experience with Armando Cato, who is a mentalist at the Vine Lounge. He performed the most mind-boggling mental activities, naming numbers, and people that there was no way he would’ve loved under any circumstances. If you come here, hopefully he will here and he will do the same for you.
Beds were comfy; staff were friendly and helpful
Noise from neighboring properties was excessive, dress codes at restaurants was impractical for a beach resort, restaurants would be closed unexpectedly, constant upgrade pushes, no way to get a chair with an umbrella unless you were up at dawn, food was subpar
8 amazing days mid-july! Family of 3 (19 yo daughter). Above expectations for service. Tried all Al carte restaurants twice (exception Olio once ) and they were all great. Wasn't Preferred and dont regret . Buffet for breakfast and lunch was also great. Entertainment and activities : Shows for everyone at night, DJ and singers in the afternoon near the pools. Most appreciated, ++ thought it would be quieter . Pools are larger than what we see on web pix. Entertainment team was great , especially José and Emmanuel that spoke French with us !
The vine is top notch. Beautiful hotel. First high rise all inclusive we have ever stayed in. Preferred club ocean view. The room itself was amazing. The view! Stayed in the preferred pool most of the time. Real laid back. The beach is public but they have a little section for the vine. Sargassum was rough for 5 out of the 6 days we were there. Food was ok! It’s resort food! We ate at all the restaurants. DO NOT LET HALFTIME SPORTS BAR OFF YOUR RADAR. The best food we had at the resort. Truffle Mac and cheese and pork belly tacos.
Location: 10, staff: helpful, kind, friendly:, room comfort: very comfortable beds, glass doors on the bathroom and shower equals very limited privacy;room service options, extremely limited; Dining options: limited menus, well prepared food, good vegetable and fruit selection, some restaurants were closed unexpectedly, so limited options for us, Coffee house is wonderful. Be Aware of Dress codes because, you will not be allowed in hotel restaurants unless you are dressed to the nines which was frustrating because this was not made clear at check-in. The 12th floor pool and restaurant were by far the highlight but at check-in, we were smooth talked into upgrading our room to have access to that for an additional $300. The pool area entertainment: amazing, those people work their asses off and they are incredible at what they do. This is a three star resort trying to be a five star resort so… If you love drinking and entertainment at the larger pools with access to a beautiful beach, this is for you! If you’re looking for a true elevated experience on all points, I wouldn’t recommend it. Having said that, the staff throughout the resort were exceptionally kind and thoughtful and helpful.
I travelled here with my fiancé to celebrate my 50th Birthday which was 26th July ! This hotel is amazing from customers service friendliness of the staff to the food options. A special mention to Juan, Angel and pool bar Manager I just can’t recall his name ! We sat beside you at pool bar every day !! We are th Irish couple who just left today .. these staff hospitality is outstanding and a pleasure to deal with these guys work extremely hard to make sure everyone’s stay is thoroughly enjoyable The rooms are huge with amazing balconies with fab view of the ocean and real treat to waken up every morning. The entertainment at the hotel from the live bands to the entertainment staff was excellent A special shout out to Emmanuel entertainment staff … I just want to say a huge thank you for everyone at the hotel making my Big Day extra special We will definitely be returning to this hotel and will plan a longer trip next time I also forgot mention lovely guy at concierge desk for helping me with restaurant booking in Harry’s and assisting me with transfers bk to the airport ! Only recommendation I would have is that the food over by the pool bar burgers nachos etc is same every day ! Would be nice to have different options! Will see you next year
This resort was extremely clean, and the staff were very friendly as well. My father in law is handicap and Alejandra was SO helpful with accommodating his needs.
I and my husband celebrated our 20th anniversary and this resort exceeded all expectations for our first visit to Cancun. The food, service, gorgeous facility, and overall value of our visit were outstanding. The staff were attentive, engaging, thoughtful, and professional. They truly made our visit memorable. We are excited to visit this resort again soon!
This place is excellent!! This was our second time going. We will be back again. We love the Secrets brand. Beautiful aesthetics and great staff.
This is our second time at Secrets The Vine Cancun for me and my husband. We convinced my mother and father-in-law, who have stayed at some of the best high-end hotels, to come to this hotel because we had an amazing experience here back in 2024 and thought it was on par with those hotels. Unfortunately, since the first day, we had issues with the hotel. The room my in-laws got was the “Preferred Master Suite Ocean View” from Costco. When we got to the room, we were shocked by how dirty and run-down it was. The “ocean view” was actually a “lagoon view” with a city and bus stop view, which, on level 21, was absolutely loud. We tried to resolve this issue with the hotel, but they were no help and were, in fact, rude. We are in the process of sorting this situation out with Costco since that’s where we got the package. Other than the room and the customer service at the reception, we have lots of thoughts on the restaurants, food, and amenities. Our first trip was so good, and the food was amazing, but this trip, unfortunately, 80% of the food was bad. The buffet for breakfast is 7/10. It’s decent, and it’s the best part of the day. The buffet for lunch is horrible. Don’t waste your time. Lunch is great at Sea Salt Grill, 10/10. The burger station is mediocre, 3/10. We didn’t try Olio for lunch. For dinner, we had Dragons the first night. Do not get anything besides sushi! I repeat, do not waste your time on anything other than sushi at Dragons, which is 7/10, Other options are absolutely bad and salty. The Mexican restaurant is good. They used to have great tacos, but they changed the menu. I liked the flank steak and enchiladas this time. 8/10. Bluewater Grill is absolutely horrible! The surf and turf is disgusting. The steak is low grade and tasted horrible. I’ve never had a steak this disgusting! We asked for medium and it was almost blue. The picanha sandwich was good. The restaurant is 4/10. We tried the Italian restaurant last time and hated it, so we didn’t try it this time. The Vine Café and their staff are amazing. We enjoyed the coffee and drinks there. 10/10. All the bars are great, but I liked the Preferred Bar on level 21 and Manatees Bar more than the others. Just make sure you ask for the better alcohol, otherwise they will use the cheaper alcohol. The staff are friendly and amazing. The hotel has three main pools and one Preferred pool. The pools are nice and are not crowded from around 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, but after 3:00 PM the water gets murky from all the sunscreen, and they become very crowded. The Preferred pool is good, but it feels very isolated. Lastly, our absolute favorite restaurant was Olio! The food was the best we had at this hotel, and we enjoyed the beef shawarma, beef tenderloin, and the teapots with Medjool date dessert and baklava. We absolutely loved our server, Cesar, for the two nights we had him. He is so kind and amazing. We loved having him! For our last night, we had Alejandro, who was nice and helpful as well. Our experience was partly memorable because of our servers, which we truly appreciate. Overall, our experience with Secrets The Vine was 5/10, unfortunately, and has changed from the 10/10 experience we had the last time we were here. Unfortunately, we won’t be back at this resort unless they do a major remodel and change their food menu and quality.
TL;DR - If you have the means to fly to cancun and stay here just to read a book on the beach, this is for you, otherwise its a bad time. Food was pretty good though. First of all, for all of these complaints, no one listened. Every time I asked for a manager, I was just pointed to concierge. Inconsistent: Only some guests received champagne on arrival; 2 friends had a ready room at 12:30, 2 others had it at 2:30, and we were scolded and told we HAVE to wait until 3 as it will be ready at 3 and it wasnt ready until 3:20, AND the sheets were still stained and had hair and debris on it. Bags took an HOUR to get to us. After telling them we were going to go get our own bags and they confirmed, I made it downstairs just for them to say they dont know which floor the bell boy is on with the bags. Random maintenance man knocking my door at 7am mistakenly thinking I asked for a plug to be fixed. Put my name on a list for a nice dinner for 7 people. Was told it would be about 50 minutes. Went back an hour later to be told "Oh we don't actually service a table that size without the wine package purchased." I had to go full embarassment just to get us seated. Asked for transport to the airport the day before. Was told by Concierge to leave my phone # and an Amstar rep would text me in an hour. 6.5 hours later, I got no text. Also, super restrictive for those who like to drink. No alcohol served prior to 10 AM (my friends wanted 9:30am mimosas with breakfast). No shots at the pool or beach after 5pm. Despite being Adults Only, bathing suits must be covered up before entering the building (women), and all button ups must be buttoned at least 3 buttons (men). Lack of activities, lack of digitally posted scheduling, lack of awareness.
Fantastic experience!!!! Will be doing this a lot more often. Room was spectacular after 5 nights did not want to leave.
The location was nice and the Italian and Blue Water Grill were great but long waiting lines. Sea Side Grill says it is best gourmet Peruvian food, but I have had much better in other locations and they forgot to place my husband's and a friends main menu order. Because all the pools are basically next to each other, there is no real quiet time to relax unless you are prefered member and you can use the pool in the 12th floor. Too many influencers at that time and you had to constantly stop to let them finish filming or get their wrath if you messed up their filming. Room service was almost non existent in the preferred area and only gave us chocolates the 1st two nights and wrappers stayed on the night table until I threw them away the day we left. It is not a place for people with handicaps, wheelchairs or walkers, only one steep ramp to get to all the pools and step downs are not properly marked to warn you. It's a nice place for young inexperienced travelers.
From the moment we checked in, we were misled by the sales staff. They made promises they had no intention of keeping just to convince us to accept an “upgrade.” It was dishonest, unprofessional, and completely ruined our first impression of the hotel. What should have been a memorable celebration of our anniversary turned into one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Choosing this resort for such an important occasion was our biggest mistake. We expected honesty, respect, and exceptional service, but instead we were met with false promises, poor treatment, and constant disappointment. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion. There are far better resorts that value their guests and deliver the experience they promise.
The entertainment staff should be rated a 10! Aisha, Emmanuel and Jose were so friendly and fun. They went above and beyond!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun was amazing from start to finish. The resort is beautiful, very clean, and the views of the Caribbean are incredible. Our room was spacious, modern, and had an amazing ocean view that made waking up every morning unforgettable. The pools, beach, and overall atmosphere were perfect for relaxing, and there were plenty of activities if you wanted to stay busy. We also enjoyed the variety of restaurants, and the food was consistently good throughout the resort. The Vine Café and late-night room service were two of our favorite amenities. The only minor downside was that the drinks were weaker than we expected, and we had one experience where the host at the steakhouse wasn't very accommodating. Other than that, the service throughout the resort was excellent, and everyone worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. Overall, we had an incredible vacation and would absolutely come back. Secrets The Vine is a fantastic adults-only resort for couples looking to relax, enjoy beautiful beaches, and make great memories.
Great room view overlooking the ocean. Amazing suite with huge and comfortable beds . Great food and cocktails, big variety for breakfast.
Decent room. Good food. Awesome staff.
The Buffet had a lot of options.
The beaches are well maintained and pool atmosphere is great, cleanliness is excellent. Staffs are bilingual and they are very friendly and welcoming.
Excellent!! Everything about the resort is just superb. All the staffs, services, restaurants, facilities, food, cocktails, premium club benefits, ocean views with lagoon views, just fantastic! Highly recommend!
The staff in general were very helpful. Check in and out was very easy. The room was very spacious . Inconsistencies in maid service -floors, towels . The biggest pet peeve although there was two sink areas only one had an outlet to plug into. Therefore getting ready took longer. Buffet dining had lots of options but one of the first hotels we stayed at that you couldn’t get a mimosa for breakfast until after 10:00 am. Also we never experienced a buffet that was closed twice during our stay. The specialty dining rooms were closed on some days even though the hotel was full. Before you go read the descriptions of what they serve . Service at the specialty restaurants was very good. The coffee area was very good. Coffee, iced drinks, desserts, lite lunches . Liquor was mediocre and the standard slushie drinks at the pool area. Even at the indoor bars. Nice to have three pool areas to choose from. One was nice as basically a quiet zone. Some loungers were more spaced out. The outdoor grill food was not the best. The physical space needs upgrading. Although we’ve stayed at Dream Resorts we thought the Secrets would excel them. Unfortunately it did not.
Honestly one of the best resorts I’ve stayed in everything was super clean and nicely maintained. Food was honestly great a lot of variety Not to mention all the options for restaurants there are 7 options included and all very different. for breakfast the best option is the market Café, which is a Mexican buffet in our server with Caesar, the best! make sure to ask for him. And for dinner It’s first come first serve which is why we ate dinner like 6:30 because after that the crowds start coming in. There is also a café in the middle of the hotel that is open 24/7 where you can get pastries, snacks, and coffee as well. Staff was amazing and very attentive when came to bringing you drinks they made sure to take care of you wether in the pool they have 3 by the way and one more if your preferred guest if you upgrade which honestly I can’t speak much on because we didn’t which was fine really couldn’t get any better. Pools do close at 7 but beach access is pretty much open. People do get up early to claim the good chairs which I saw some people complain about, but it really wasn’t that bad. Usually the early birds would leave around lunchtime and then you can find good seats, but we never had an issue. Entertainment is really nice. They have activities throughout the day by the pool that you can join we used the Hyatt app which gave us a day by day schedule to let us know the times of activities and such please take advantage of the app it really helps. Please don’t forget to tip your servers! They don’t mind dollars so you don’t even have to exchange your money they work really hard to make sure you have everything you need so it’s the least you can do. We used Expedia travel services that’s located in the hotel to travel to Chichen Itza and to swim in the Cenotes, it’s super safe and they took really good care of us. The only complaint I have is that they play live music in the main area outside that you can hear from the 14th floor, which is where we stayed, but we just played white noise on our phones and it drowned it out. This hotel is very serene very calm not really your party type. Just have a good time Feel kind of place which worked perfect for us.
The fact that the pool closes at 6pm made this the worst trip. The fact that they try to sell me an elite premier package when this is supposed to already be all inclusive. Most of the staff act like they don't understand English. This just wasn't the best experience for me.
Bluewater Grill is terrible, hotel needs an update, no real entertainment. Was not impressed. Would not go back, expensive for what you get. We had to eat at same restaurant 4 days due to 2 restaurants were not open several days. Spa was 250 per person.
The overall resort was beautiful. It is a smaller resort environment than I am typically used to for all-inclusive but the staff was great and facilities were well kept.
I chose Secrets The Vine Cancun expecting a luxury all-inclusive experience based on the resort's marketing, social media, and Hyatt's reputation. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I have had. The food quality was poor throughout our stay. There was very little variety, and many dishes lacked flavor and freshness. I expected authentic Mexican cuisine with fresh shrimp ceviche, street tacos, tequila tastings, and a wider selection of local specialties. None of these experiences were available, making the dining experience repetitive and underwhelming. The wine was especially disappointing. The complimentary wine tasted like cough syrup, and instead of offering quality options, the resort constantly pushed expensive upgrades. We were quoted approximately $225 for a bottle that retails for around $25 in the United States. That pricing felt excessive and left the impression that the resort was more interested in upselling than providing a quality all-inclusive experience. The constant sales pressure was exhausting. Everywhere we went, someone was trying to sell us upgraded wine, premium experiences, spa services, or vacation club memberships. It became difficult to simply relax and enjoy our vacation without being approached to spend more money. The entertainment was equally disappointing. Every day felt exactly the same, with the same pool, the same music, and very little variety in activities. We expected themed events, cultural experiences, live entertainment featuring different music genres, tequila tastings, cooking demonstrations, and more opportunities to experience Mexican culture. Instead, there was very little to do, especially for a week-long stay. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the level of service. The staff was often unfriendly, inattentive, and, at times, outright rude. Genuine hospitality was noticeably absent. Rather than feeling welcomed, we frequently felt like an inconvenience unless we were purchasing an upgrade or additional service. For a resort that markets itself as luxury, the customer service fell far below expectations. I also believe the resort's social media advertising is misleading. Many of the experiences shown in promotional videos and photos were either unavailable during our stay, required additional payment, or simply did not reflect the typical guest experience. The marketing creates expectations that the resort does not consistently deliver. The resort should also do a better job of accurately describing its atmosphere. During our visit, it felt geared primarily toward an older (55+) clientele and many LGBTQ+ couples. There is nothing wrong with serving those communities, but guests should have a clear understanding of the resort's overall atmosphere and target audience before booking. The marketing gives the impression of a vibrant, energetic luxury resort with diverse entertainment, but that was not our experience. Overall, this vacation did not provide the luxury experience we paid for. Between the poor food quality, disappointing wine, constant upselling, repetitive entertainment, misleading advertising, and lack of genuine hospitality, I left feeling that the resort failed to deliver on its promises. I would not return to Secrets The Vine Cancun, nor would I recommend it to friends or family.
As the management of this place seems to be asleep at the wheel, it is the goodwill of some of its employees that still makes this hotel special. I have been coming here since 2013 or 2014 (some years twice), and unfortunately the standards have declined. This was my 9th (or possibly 10th) stay in the Preferred section, and it may well be my last. Before arriving, I contacted the hotel asking that (given it was my 9th stay, and following a difficult work reorganisation) I be allocated a room in a quiet area so I could maximise my rest and sleep. I never received a reply. Is that really the normal level of customer service? To my surprise, when I arrived at around 6:30pm, I was repeatedly asked whether it was my first stay. Considering my earlier email, which had clearly been ignored by reservations and concierge, this almost felt insulting. However, after an 11-hour flight, all I wanted was a shower, so I did not have the energy to argue. I was then allocated what was arguably the noisiest room in the Preferred area, on the 21st floor, directly next to the bar and balcony area. Every morning there was noise from around 4am, followed by cleaning activity from about 7am, and in the evenings rowdy guests often remained on the balcony until late. I am not even sure “disappointed” fully covers it. To add insult to injury, the room’s air conditioning was defective. Aldo kindly explained the issue, but I still had to set the thermostat to 14°C just to achieve roughly 21°C in the room. I was also asked what times I wanted housekeeping and evening turndown service. Despite this, turndown arrived earlier than agreed, and the staff visibly rolled their eyes when I asked them to return 30 minutes later so I could unpack and shower. At that point I genuinely started to regret booking the hotel. I also noticed that the bedside lamps, which had been present on previous stays, had been removed, leaving only the rather harsh ceiling spotlights around the bed. My sleep was interrupted several times by noise, although I was at least looking forward to breakfast. I chose to have breakfast at Olio, which has been available for a little over a year, as I wanted to avoid queuing for the main buffet. I was greeted by a friendly and smiling hostess, Yasmin, and shown to my table. Shortly afterwards my waitress, Sora, welcomed me with: “Good morning and welcome back, sir.” That small moment made a huge difference. She had not received my earlier email, yet she recognised me and made me feel genuinely welcomed. She was also exceptionally attentive, refilling my coffee without being prompted and anticipating what I needed, something I noticed other waiters did not consistently do over the following days. In fairness, William also recognised me and looked after me very well. One of the main reasons I book Preferred is access to the infinity pool on the 12th floor, as the other pools are generally too busy for serious swimming, and as a solo traveller I find the pool easier than the beach from a security perspective. Unfortunately, on a daily basis, almost all the loungers appeared “reserved”. A fellow guest made a telling comment one morning around 8am: “I’ll come back tonight to reserve my seat for tomorrow morning.” On several occasions I noticed that people who had reserved seats never actually used them, as they were at other pools. The pool staff seemed to turn a blind eye to this, despite the hotel’s stated policy. One couple even left a bag on a lounger all morning and only returned at 12:30pm to collect it. I also noticed again that, as a solo traveller, I was often treated as something of a second-class customer, particularly in the evenings. Examples included bread not being brought automatically as it was to other tables, and drinks not being refilled unless I repeatedly asked. Restaurant comments Dragons The hostess was very pleasant. However, the sushi offering has declined over the years, and several dishes now seem heavily tailored to an American audience. For example, the Pad Thai was served with an excessive amount of sauce. The waiter also attempted to upsell a “Chef’s Table” option at USD 250 per person in order to have lobster and steak. Nebbiolo Again, the hostess was very pleasant. My waiter, Cesar, required several reminders. I had to ask more than once for bread to accompany my starter, and again for my wine glass to be refilled. Bluewater Grill The hostess was pleasant, but the range of steak cuts and side dishes has noticeably reduced compared with previous stays. The waiter, whom I recognised from earlier visits, questioned my choice of butter as a condiment for my steak and insisted I should have chosen a wine or pepper sauce instead. I explained that, as a European guest, my view of gastronomy may differ from what is more commonly expected by American visitors. I ordered spinach and mashed potato. The spinach that arrived was particularly disappointing (photo attached). The apple crumble dessert was also poor and was not even served warm. Final thoughts Some may wonder who has the time to write such a detailed review. The answer is someone whose job requires a high level of attention to detail and memory, but also someone who spent an hour waiting for dinner because the waiter, Rodolpho, lost the order and later returned to ask what main course I had requested. The post-stay survey I completed received a very automated and impersonal response that appeared designed simply to tick the “reply sent” box. It offered no meaningful explanation for the many shortcomings I experienced. I have often told the reservations team that this hotel felt like my “home away from home”. Sadly, that is no longer the case. I do not expect to be treated like a VIP, but when I spend more than USD 7,000 on what was meant to be a dream holiday and a personal treat, I do expect not to be treated like just another number, or to receive dismissive and condescending service.
Absolutely loved it here! Service is top notch, food and drinks were great. Beautiful room, immaculate grounds, loved the pools and hot tub. Only thing was there isn’t really a main entertainment area and the app didnt have accurate information for events each night, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The fiesta was a lot of fun and such a nice celebration! My husband didnt love the lack of ESPN on TV lol but that’s neither here nor there. We had a fabulous time and I would absolutely go back again!
This was our second visit to Secrets The Vine Cancun. Our first stay was right before the pandemic during the first week of January, when the weather was absolutely perfect. Visiting in May this time was definitely warmer, and there was quite a bit of seaweed on the beach, which was a little disappointing. The resort itself isn't massive, which actually makes it incredibly convenient. You don't have to do a ton of walking—you can just hop on the elevator in the lobby and get to your room in no time. The breakfast and lunch buffets were excellent. Everything from the fresh fruit to the cheeses and variety of dishes was delicious, and we loved that they changed the selection daily. The à la carte restaurants also offered high-quality food and top-notch service. We especially enjoyed the Preferred Club. Having a dedicated lounge floor with a butler station and a bar serving cocktails, coffee, and snacks was fantastic. It is truly worth the upgrade! Above all, Secrets The Vine’s million-dollar views of the Cancun beach and the lagoon always made our trip truly wonderful. We would love to come back!
The Spa was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the hydrotherapy circuit even the cold plunge! The Vine is a high rise rather than the sprawling Secrets resorts we are accustomed to, but we still had a lovely stay. Dinner at the Blue Water Grill was fantastic.
I liked the location and the beach, the hotel was nice and plenty to do. Staff was helpful when I had questions and most was easy to navigate on our own.
I booked a Preferred Club Deluxe Ocean View King room, it was not an ocean view it was partial ocean on the side out the very loud neighboring hotel. The preferred lounge was very small and always full of people so it made the experience not good. The preferred pool area was small and not worth the money at all, the main pools were much better. I spent extra just to be let down and disappointed.
The food was great, and the service and employees were excellent. The best asset is their employees. Everyone was polite and tried their best to make sure you were happy with your experience.
The food at Olio on the 12th floor is IMPECCABLE! Luis and Laejandro were so kind and took care of us so well! Their service and hospitality was truly memorable🥰 Everything in the hotel has been great! Totally recommend🫶🏻
We had a very good experience experience for our 7 night stay. Staff was very accommodating and a special thanks to Jessica who helped set our room up for our anniversary and gave us trinkets to remember cancun by. Highly recommended!
Quick last-minute vacation was just what we needed. Hotel was not far from the airport and very clean upon arrival. Smelled great! I love that smoking or vaping is not allowed on the property. Service was a little sluggish at the pool but overall, not too bad. Food was way better than anticipated! The room was beautiful and spacious! Upgrade to preferred for the best views.
The resort has only one ATM machine that can only withdraw US $. Also, exchange rate US to Mexican peso is very low at the resort. So, we have to walk 2 miles from the Resort to withdraw Mexican peso from ATM. it is not convenient for Resort's guests. They had “entertainment” in a bar next to Dragons. But, there is no live music or show entertainment at the beach. Seem like there is nothing to do after dinner. Service, people, foods and drinks are perfect.
We have been to many all inclusive resorts, including dreams and sandles. We were so excited to have a vacation with no kids and spent extra for The Vine! The prefered lounge was horrible. Compared to dreams dominican republic and even sands. It was a literal converetwd hotel room. The food was miserable. The bartender left and we sat there for 40 minutes. Finally just stood up and went behind the bar and poored our own memosa. They had one server at the prefered pool. I felt so sorry for him. The bartender was alone also. We tipped because it is not their fault. Everyone we spoke.to was disappointed. The entertainment was just a bunch of bands. Not the flare we have had in the past. The room was super nice and quiet, though they did not fill our bar a couple of days. I am totally not high end, but we paid extra for a nice hotel and it is not worth the money we paid. Most food was horrible. The steak house was nice, only the serf and turf. Olios was good for breakfast and lunch. They combined the "mexican" restaurant and Peruvian restaurant. Asian was good but closed for two nights, unknown why the second night. Just closed. First night I understand, one night per week.
The rooms are superb The staff very helpfull and kind. The food at other level, except the italian restaurant
Have to improve the food in the italian restaurant
This was our first adult only resort. Very clean, great services, great memories. There were lots of opportunities to do activities. Several great dining options as well. Would go again!
Beautiful 😍 property. Beachfront location was great! Great entertainment.
Food was the most bland food I have ever eaten. Definitely not what I expected from an All-Inclusive Resort. Not worth what I paid at all. I would not recommend it to anyone, simply based on the food. Do better. A little seasoning goes a long way. Everyone doesn’t have dead tastebuds.
If you’re Black, I would seriously think twice before staying at this resort. My experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had, and I left feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and singled out because of my race. The night manager, Ulises Villagian, handled concerns in an incredibly unprofessional way. Instead of listening or trying to resolve issues, I felt dismissed and talked over. What made it even more upsetting was that I observed him interacting much more respectfully with white guests, while I was treated completely differently. It’s sad that in 2026 people can still make you feel like you’re less deserving because you’re Black. After paying for what was supposed to be an all-inclusive vacation, I expected good service—not to feel judged or unwelcome. I noticed that I was being told to wait longer for drinks or being limited in ways that I didn’t see happening with other guests. Whether intentional or not, it left me feeling singled out and discriminated against. The bartender at the Red Piano Bar—whose name I unfortunately didn’t get—treated me as if I was less than everyone else, even in front of other guests. It was humiliating and completely unacceptable. No paying guest should ever leave a resort feeling degraded because of the color of their skin. Employees represent the resort, and if they allow personal biases to affect how they treat guests, then the resort is responsible for that experience as well. I spent a lot of money expecting a relaxing vacation, but instead I left feeling angry, disappointed, and deeply hurt. There are far better resorts in the area where guests are treated with dignity and respect. I would never recommend this resort based on my experience.,
As an avid traveler, recently visited Secrets the Vine for 5 days for a special occasion. I’m here to give you a breakdown on if this resort is worth your vacation hours and dollars. Let’s start w Pros: Location was a quick ride from airport. Security was tight to enter and exit the property- which is always a plus. Room was huge & clean ( honeymoon oceanfront). Food was good- Dragons (Asian cuisine) & Bluewater Grill (steakhouse) stood out but didn’t have any issues at buffet or other restaurants- they were solid! Also, the lobby bar is the best bartender on property! Enjoyed drinks from here. Let’s dive into Cons: There is a snobbish vibe- which can be frequent at luxury properties but here -it’s the staff. They really push preferred, so if you don’t get the upgrade- you will feel the difference. The hotel is HOT! The lobby has an actual fireplace and our room was HOT- we woke up sweating multiple nights! The temperature is programmed for 65 degrees but it stayed at 75 degrees. Daytime entertainment is non existent. It’s literally silent by the pools. At some point, music is played for 2/3 hours by one of the pools. However, It was extremely boring. Guest needs are pretty back burner. Had to walk to front desk on multiple occasions after no one answered the phones- to my surprise each time the desk was fully staffed without any guests waiting. (Found out later that the hotel really wants everyone to use the app- it would have been nice if that was explained upon checkin). Overall this property was just ok. Service was ok. Atmosphere was ok. Spa was ok. etc. This would be the perfect resort if you like extreme quiet, luxury that just makes the cut and a non-social environment. The best parts were the room & beach (although there was sargassum, we still got in the water & enjoyed the beautiful beach)! Been to multiple Secrets properties and while this one wasn’t terrible, it didn’t quite create a memorable experience or live up to 5 star luxury reputation. It reminds me of a nice hotel in your local area with a touch of attitude. Overall, I would not visit this property again as it doesn’t match with my travel style ; however, as mentioned, others with a different travel style may enjoy.
This place needs major upgrades. Bad mattress, you can fall into it. AC loby and market caffe not working. Breakfast first time I see something like this no omelet station ,no panckakes, waffles. Lunch no grill saction to have grilled chicken ,fish or steak. NOT many options too choose. We went art 2 pm only beef ,no other meat to eat. THEY don't have good sele tion of food.No ice cream. I CAN'T BELIVE THIS IS SECRETS
My husband and I just returned from an anniversary trip to Secrets The Vine in Cancun. We had a great week. We “upgraded” to a premium room and felt it was money well spent. The room was large and open and very clean. We enjoyed access to the upstairs pool and lounge with the premium upgrade. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are things the resort could improve upon. The food, overall, (for us) felt very bland. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. We were not fans of Dragons at all. Our wait was horrendous and the food was our least favorite. Bluwater Grille was a better experience, but our food still lacked seasoning and complex flavor profiles. We did enjoy the Sea Salt Grille for lunch, though. Definitely recommend stopping there if you’re able. We never attended a buffet, so cannot speak to that. The resort staff was amazing. Everyone was polite and pleasant and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Like others have said, there is a lack of excitement. The entertainment team was great, but the resort is more reserved than we anticipated. We weren’t looking for a party spot, but we did expect more lively music and for it to last longer than it did. Overall, we had a great time. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed our time by the pool. Would we go again? Maybe. I do think it would be worth our while to explore other resorts to see if there is a better food experience and maybe more activity through other resorts. We give our stay 7/10.
There's not a single smoking area in the hotel you have to go outside the main gates to smoke, literally on the street. If you are a smoker this is definitely not the place for you.
Secrets The Vine continues to be one of my favorite places in Cancun. Cancun is my favorite destination whenever I want to relax for a few days, and this resort always makes the experience even more memorable. The property is beautiful, the food was excellent, and the service throughout the hotel was outstanding. A special thank you to Neftali at the Front Desk. He welcomed me with genuine kindness and went above and beyond to help me get the room I was hoping for. His professionalism and willingness to help made a wonderful first impression and started my vacation in the best possible way. I truly enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to return. I highly recommend Secrets The Vine to anyone looking for a relaxing, high quality experience in Cancun. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Location was good the resraurant take to long unless you buy a wine bottle. The premium drink to pay for preferred only available in 28th floor. No swim up bar. Paid 200$ for a dinner and it came 2hrs late ate it cold. Late checkout was not available didnt care im a hyatt member. Butler text you once a day on whatsapp. They give you coupon when you arrive they dont work when you go pay and they dont let you pay on the spot so you wont know. If paying cash they make you wait 30mins so they can call the banks. The liqour they serve its no brands and the known brands are cheap liqour like red label. Not all restaunrants are open everyday.
Overall, Secrets The Vine feels tired and in need of a remodel. The beds / linens, etc seemed old, and the air conditioning system needs a complete overhaul. Our biggest issue was the room temperature. Despite setting the thermostat to 65 degrees, the actual room temperature stayed around 76. For anyone who likes to sleep cold, the room felt warm, stuffy, and clammy. The staff did move us to an upgraded room, which was slightly better, but it still never got cold enough. We were told that “AC doesn’t work as well in Mexico as it does in the U.S.,” which was a frustrating explanation for a resort at this price point. That said, the service was excellent. Everyone was extremely friendly, accommodating, and genuinely tried to help, which ultimately allowed us to still have a great experience despite the issues with the property. The only other negative was the amount of seaweed, although I recognize that is completely outside the resort’s control. With a proper renovation, especially the rooms, beds, and air conditioning, this could be a fantastic resort. The people and service are already there; the property itself just needs to catch up.
Truly an amazing resort for all inclusive. Great food, beverages, entertainment and amenities. If you upgrade to the preferred club, ensure you receive the service you paid for. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and paid to upgrade and received no extra service, we loved everything about our stay but were truly disappointed in the service we believed we would receive. Overall, had an awesome time, just unfortunate that we had to call concierge for all of our needs when we were supposed to have someone dedicated to our floor. Customers pay for an upgraded service, it should be fulfilled.
This experience was the most relaxed I've ever been in my entire life. The entire stay was amazing. Beginning with the sparkling wine greeting all the way through our stay, it was fantastic. The room was outstanding on the 23rd floor. The preferred club granted access to the extra pool and restaurant. The service was fantastic, including the waitress at the pool. Room service was top-notch. We will gladly return.
Nice and well maintained. Preferred club too little and with little options.really not enough for preferred club.
We had a wonderful stay celebrating our wedding anniversary! The resort made us feel special by decorating our room, which was a thoughtful touch. The ambiance throughout the property is beautiful, and the fitness center is one of the best I've seen at an all-inclusive resort. The pool service was exceptional. The waitstaff constantly came around taking drink orders and delivering them quickly, and I especially appreciated the variety of delicious mocktails available throughout our stay. The biggest downside was the food. While breakfast was good, the overall food quality was average, and there seemed to be limited dining options for an all-inclusive resort. We were also disappointed by the constant upcharging—from the spa to other experiences around the resort. It took away from the relaxing, all-inclusive feel we were expecting. Overall, it's a beautiful resort with excellent service and amenities. If the food quality improved and the constant upselling was reduced, it would be an outstanding vacation destination.
I stayed here thinking that it would be of high standard but sadly I was extremely disappointed. I came out on my special occasion to celebrate a milestone in my life of celebrating my 60th birthday. I was told that they would provide me with a complimentary upgrade to celebrate this event, only for them to say later that I would need to pay for the upgrade. I felt that wasn't good customer service.
Amazing hotel, second visit to this hotel and the service we received was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very special. The chefs table experience was brilliant, 7 courses of amazing food, prosecco and lovely people. We don't want to leave as it has been exceptional
This trip was the second trip for me and my wife to this resort in 7 years. It was a like a dream back then but now it's average if not less. The resort needs maintenance across all areas. Room service was not that great. Mini bar was never filled and when asked for it to be filled, nothing happened. The atmosphere is mainly geared towards older folks. Barely any music is being played around the pool areas while it was a party at Sandos, the resort next door to it.
Over priced, bad food, pool closes @ 7pm. Beach was not an option bec of miles of seaweed. Watered down drinks. Could not make reservations so you had to wait hours to eat.
We enjoyed our trip very much! I would love to change a few things on our trip. The restaurants were great and we liked the meals, but sometimes it seems like the food was premade and heated up. Eating at night was confusing, when some places were closed and you never knew which ones would be closed. There were only 6 restaurants, and when a couple were closed every night and we couldn’t make reservations, we waited close to an hour to be seated. Some nightly activities/ dinner nights cost money. Which was fine, but seemed too much for an all inclusive hotels. Everything was very clean, and staff was absolutely fabulous!! Spa was lovely and had other amenities besides a massage. The gym was great and had plenty of equipment! Overall we did really enjoy our experience. And would recommend staying here!
Awful awful spa experience. Booked in for a massage on first day. I came from the pool area with damp (not wet) swim shorts to ask about booking a massage and they said they could do a massage right then. But they insisted I kept my damp shorts on and so the whole massage was spoiled as I felt so uncomfortable throughout. At least 3 times during massage I explicity asked "Can I please remove my shorts" and each time she replied "NO!". I have never been to a spa with a policy that insists people wear swim shorts. I raised this with the spa and concierge and no one at hotel addressed it or said it was not policy. Usually I am naked or offered disposable clothing underwear. They should explain this policy of having to wear swim shorts to people before they arrive because I would not have gone ahead and paid if I had known. In addition, one waiter at the restaurant was so bad we had to leave. As soon as he realised we did not wish to pay for wine, he was the rudest waiter ever, throwing the wrong plates down without even looking at us, never bringing things we requested etc. In addition, on several occasions we had to request a room clean as our room had not been cleaned. The shower flooded the room on first day which we had to mop up. Due to experience with worst waiter ever, we avoided restaurant for last night and ordered room service. That said it would take an hour but ended up being 2 hours and some items missing. Also gave up on preferred club breakfast as had to leave and go to market cafe, due to making several attempots to get what we asked for and never managing it. Overall, an appalling level of service and management never once addressed anything, other than asking us to tell the things over and over again to different people. It was the fact no one addressed the complaint about the spa though that was the worst of all. I would have expected someone to talk to us about that. Management should really look hard at themselves for never once addressing these issues which we raised during our stay.
We took our adult children to Secrets of The Vine. We had a great time. This is our second trip to this resort. We did notice the service was a little lack this trip, but overall we don't really have any complaints. The Entertainment Staff is incredible. There is a lot to do on the property without having to leave the resort. We ate at all the restaurants at least once with no complaints. Our rooms were clean and comfortable.
The property was comfortable and clean. The cleanliness and service were outstanding, especially from Manuel at the Market Café. The preferred club proved to be worthwhile.
Be cautious with any offer from VIP Services. It may include a 90-minute sales pitch to join Hyatt’s Unlimited Vacation Club. $$$$$ 🤯
Wow, I don’t even know where to start. Me and my partner stayed here in May for two weeks as it was for our 5 year anniversary and we truly had the best time of our lives. We were a bit hesitant before our arrival due to some of the mixed reviews we had read but our experience and stay at the resort will truly be one to remember forever. If you want a hotel with good food, amazing staff, activities throughout the day but also that element of relaxation.. then this is the one for you! We had originally booked to stay in a sea view room but due to issues with the balcony and loud howling noises, we were kindly upgraded to preferred which made our experience 100x better. This meant that we got a free 25 minute head massage which was AMAZING, access to the preferred pool and restaurant and our very own butlers each day. A huge shoutout to Ivan and Carlos for their brilliant service. Each day there were many activities going on such as wine tasting (which we made sure to go as many times as we could😅) bracelet making, guacamole making class, souvenir painting class and our personal favourite beach volleyball!! The entertainment staff went above and beyond for everyone and really made our experience. Another huge shoutout to Aisha, Jose, Emmanuel and Rodrigo!! The best entertainment team I’ve ever had in a resort. The location is brilliant with a bus just outside to take you to the strip and only costs $1 each way. It can also drop you to the ferry port where you can catch a ferry to Isla mujeres. The food at this resort is the best food I have ever had at any hotel/resort too! So many options! We stayed here for two weeks and never got bored. I am the fussiest eater ever🫠and never struggled to find something to eat. Overall, we truly have had the best time and will cherish our stay here forever.
I cannot stress enough how great this hotel is, me and my partner stayed here for two weeks, we expected to be bored after a week, this was not the case at all, The food was great, we recommend you try as many restaurants as you can, the staff are great in them all. We highly suggest you try the Bluewater Grill for dinner, the Fillet Minion with truffle mashed potatoes were our favorite. The entertainment team are amazing, AISHA, JOSE, EMMANUEL and RODRIGO made our days full of fun and laughs, from playing volleyball to playing blackjack in the pool we were always kept entertained. By the end of the holiday they wasn't just staff anymore they our Friends. Our Butlers on our floor were Ivan and Carlos who were both always very happy to help, The desk they worked at was situated next to the elevators so we saw alot of them, they always gave us dinner recommendations (In and out of the hotel) and made sure we had everything we needed, Ivan even noticed we were sunburned and arranged for aloe vera to be brought to our room, for this we cannot thank him enough it was truly a pleasure to have him as our butler. The Evening entertainment was always great especially Lee who performed in the vine lounge, truly a great guy and an even better performer. We recommend you book to see the Cenote and Turtle experience with Cancun adventures who are situated in the hotel as well. It was an absolute trip of a lifetime and i cannot recommend Secrets The Vine Cancun enough, and anyone who says otherwise is mad.
This "resort" was a complete disappointment after the many Secrets resorts we've stayed at in the past. The hotel is very old, dirty and run down. The pool water is filthy, there was a fight for chairs, and the umbrellas were shredded and broken. Tiles were missing off the pool and covered in mold. There was no music. Our room was decent. The bathrobes and sheets had blood stains on them. There are two tiny stools to sit on besides the bed. Be aware that the toilet and shower are not private. They're surrounded by glass in the center of the room. The air conditioning waz luke warm. The seating around the lobby is stained. Not all restaurants are open at night. Our outdoor dining experience was covered in bird poop. There is zero benefit to paying more for the preferred club. The lounge had 2 tables, cold food under a heat lamp and no bartender. They are simply there to sell you a timeshare. Also didn't get recognized for booking our 20th wedding anniversary. I'd like to think you get what you pay for, but I'm wrong. This hotel was not cheap. The service was great but lack of clean, working amenities take away from that.
Great experience overall! The staff and food were awesome, the property is incredibly clean, and pool chairs were easy to get without waking up at dawn. Our only major disappointment was the low-end alcohol selection (Smirnoff for vodka, Jim Beam for bourbon). Having stayed at other Secrets resorts, we expected a much higher caliber of premium drinks for this price point.
Second stay in less than a year. A great hotel, great staff and great food. The property went out of its way to clean-up the sargassum several times a day.
Make you paid extra to uograde your room and beverage package, however every time you asked for some type of liquor, they sent you to floor 21 and when you go there, theybtell you is outstock and they can’t replenish it.
I wanted to share my disappointment with our recent stay at Secrets The Vine. We have stayed at multiple Secrets properties and have always viewed the brand as a reliable choice for an elevated, adults-only, all-inclusive experience. We were considering returning to Impression Moxché, where we have stayed before, or trying Secrets Tulum, but ultimately chose The Vine because it was a last-minute getaway and close to the Cancun airport. Unfortunately, this was the worst Secrets experience we have had. We upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite, which appeared to be the largest Preferred Club option available. Given the premium room category and the all-inclusive positioning, we expected the experience to feel elevated. Instead, the room included a very limited minibar: one pack of M&Ms, a can of Pringles, beer, and soda. My fiancée does not drink beer, so when we asked about restocking the minibar, we were surprised to learn that bottles of liquor came at an additional cost, with the lowest option around $60. We were also presented with multiple bottle menus, which felt more like a nightclub than a premium all-inclusive resort. The Preferred Club experience also felt like an afterthought compared to other Secrets locations we have visited in Cancun and Punta Cana. While the staff was friendly, the Preferred Club space itself felt less polished than the main lobby. The coffee bar felt more upscale than the Preferred Club bar. We also did not receive some of the small touches and amenities we have come to associate with the Secrets brand, such as tote bags or other welcome items, which contributed to the overall feeling that the upgrade was not worthwhile. I did a special bubble bath for my fiance where I would be charged for rose petals or a bottle of wine and we booked the honeymoon suite. It didn't feel special at all. Dining was another major disappointment. Every restaurant had at least a 30-minute wait, even when the restaurants did not appear especially crowded. One evening, after returning from an excursion, we arrived for dinner around 9:30 p.m. and were told there was a wait, that our name could be added to the list, but that we should go elsewhere. Even then with our hearts set on the steakhouse, they never reached out to let us know if they had availability or not. The Dragon, the main upscale restaurant we wanted to visit, was also closed on a Saturday night, which was especially frustrating at an all-inclusive resort where dining is a core part of the experience. Service around the pool and through Butler service was also inconsistent. Since the pool does not have a swim-up bar, we relied on staff taking drink orders, but drinks were often forgotten or took more than 20 minutes. When we ordered food and drinks through Butler service, it regularly took 1 to 1.5 hours. With our experience of the Secrets brand the butler is usually so personable that we know their names and are so sad to leave them because of that relationship that was built, at this resort we only saw the butler 1-2 times. Housekeeping was also below expectations. On the first night, we requested that the bathroom floor be cleaned because there appeared to be dried blood or staining on the floor. When we returned later, the towels had been refreshed, but the floor had not been mopped. After that, the room did not appear to be fully cleaned again. We know this because room service items, drinks, and a small balcony spill remained for roughly a day and a half, even though we were out of the room for several hours and did not have a “do not disturb” sign displayed. We also personally met multiple individuals at the resort who appeared to be under 21, which was surprising given the adults-only positioning. As repeat Secrets guests and Preferred Club customers, this stay has genuinely made us question whether we should continue choosing Secrets properties. We have been excited about the possibility of visiting Impression Moxché again or trying Secrets Tulum, but this experience gave us serious pause. We paid extra to upgrade our stay and expected the Preferred Club experience to reflect the level of service, amenities, and attention to detail that previously made us loyal to the Secrets brand. Instead, the upgrade felt underwhelming, many expected amenities were not included, and the overall experience fell far short of what we have come to expect. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because we have enjoyed the Secrets brand in the past and would like to feel confident choosing it again in the future.
I loved it here! They greet you with a, "Welcome Home." Professional and friendly staff always willing to help and very aware to anticipate your needs. I would definitely come back here.
Poolside fun, great food, and attentive staff. Rooms and facilities were clean, but needs some updating. Our room was spacious and comfortable.
Our stay at Secrets The Vine Cancún was terrible, from Day 1 through Day 6. We are giving the lowest possible rating because the resort did not provide the accommodations we booked and paid for, and our concerns were never resolved in a fair or professional manner. We reserved an All-Inclusive Preferred Club Ocean Front Master Corner Suite. At first glance, the room appeared attractive, but we quickly discovered that the air conditioning was not working and the cleanliness was below acceptable standards. After notifying our butler, we were moved to another Ocean Front Master Suite, but the air conditioning still did not work and the room was even warmer. The furniture was badly worn, with torn sofa cushions, visible stuffing, and debris on the floor. We were then moved to a Presidential Suite that was bare and lacked the décor, lighting, and Ocean Front view we had specifically reserved. After yet another move, we were placed in a fourth room that still was not the suite we had paid for. In total, we spent the first two days of our vacation packing, unpacking, and waiting for room changes instead of enjoying our 38th anniversary celebration. When we finally met with the General Manager, we expected the matter to be handled appropriately. Instead, the initial offer was a complimentary dinner, even though that was already included in our all-inclusive package. When we explained what would be required to address the situation, we requested a Cancún excursion, a couples massage, and reimbursement for the first two days and nights of our stay. The General Manager initially agreed to the excursion and massage but refused to compensate us for the lost days. We were then presented with a document stating that those items would only be provided if we agreed not to discuss our experience. We were not allowed to keep a copy, and after reading it, we declined to sign. When we asked that the two-night compensation also be included so the resolution would be fair, all three items were ultimately denied. To this day, we never received the Ocean Front Preferred Club Master Corner Suite we reserved and paid for. In our view, compensation for at least two nights would have been the minimum appropriate resolution, and compensation for all five nights would have been justified since the accommodations we booked were never provided during our entire stay. This experience fell far below the standards we expected from Secrets The Vine Cancún. Our 38th anniversary vacation, which should have been a memorable celebration, became an exhausting and frustrating experience. We left deeply disappointed by both the condition of the accommodations and the resorts General Manager unwillingness to take meaningful responsibility for its failures.
Good location
Cancun is outdated, and so feels this hotel - which is deemed for the big mass - as well. In the rooms, once the AC is switched off, the floor becomes extremely slippery (wrong choice of tiles). The common spaces outside don't feel cozy
