City of Sails Motel

Very handy to the North Shore Events centre where we needed to be.

Tiny bit of road noise from our room, which was right next to the carpark. We notice it more as we live semi rural and away from the road. Soon got used to it and didn’t stop us getting to sleep easily.

It was nice and tidy and close to the venue we had a celebration at.We also didn’t hear any traffic noise even though it is on a corner.

L'accueil et le bureau étaient pratiquement fermés en permanence. De plus, la caution a été encaissée et ne m'a pas été remboursée au moment de mon départ, malgré l'affirmation du propriétaire indiquant qu'elle me serait rendue le jour même. Comme voyageur étranger sur le point de rentrer dans mon pays, j'ai absolument besoin de cet argent.

Located well for our needs. Was grateful that staff replaced our heater immediately, when we advised that it wasn't working.

There was a car revving loudly for some time in the carpark and our room was located at the end of the carpark. I'm assuming no one was onsite because it continued for a while and at some outrageous hour of the morning. Would have been nice to have some salt and pepper in the room. The water from the shower went under the shower curtain and was completely around the toilet, making it very slippery and very wet, going to the toilet.

We had a one bedroom unit with spa bath. It was clean, tidy & spacious. Would be great for a longer stay as well.

Hospitality was amazing parking was great

Could hear the stomping upstairs and walls abit thin but that’s all over all amazing motel we would be back 100%

Well appointed and spacious room

Shower was dirty - had black mould in joins and pink mould and scum in corners of shower base - all was easily wiped away with a flannel so simply not cleaned.

Rooms were noisy.

It was great they offered free parking..this was so handy to the hospital as could just walk and not have to find extra parking. So convenient, many thanks

The facility manager has been so great to deal with the communication is 10/10 , very clean & the location is very good.

Not allowing me to leave my car in the carpark for a couple of hours after check out while I went across to the hospital to say goodbye to a seriously ill family member was pretty heartless and unjustifiable. There were plenty of parking spaces. Sometimes showing your customers a bit of kindness means they return or recommend you. Being rigid about the rules "because you only paid for the parking space until 10 am" does not.

Close your Takapuna City and the event we had been at in Milford.

Quite a lot of street noise, however as the night went on of course it got quieter.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well presented, and the bed was very comfortable. The spa was a great bonus and made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a relaxing and pleasant experience, and I would happily stay here again.

The toilet had not been cleaned recently. Not enough milk supplied.

Outside the room there were two huge air conditioner units. The noise from this was rather annoying when we were trying to sleep, given that we both do not wear hearing aids while sleeping and therefore are very hard of hearing! My review score would have been higher should our night have been quieter.

Ease of access to our room. Great location to the hospital for my 2 appointment. Comfortable bed.

Because my line of business is maintenance. I noted kitchen bench faucet was leaking , bathroom door hinge loose and squeaky, shower head holder loose and note able to hold a position. But in all the room and stay was good.

Load stomping upstairs all hours of the Night.

Bad concept in all hotels/motels of having only super warm/hot dooner on bed and no alternative (light blanket, for instance). Meant we had to take dooner out of sheet cover bag and sleep with just that on top.

Everything else was fine. Originally a great design, the motel rooms have been aesthetically compromised a little by out-of-character light fittings, fan and other unnecessary ornamentation.

Location was great and within walking distance to where we had to go.

Had to wait at reception for 10 minutes before I was booked in. Guy not even apologetic!! Pace needs upgrade really badly. Carpet really worn. Could do with shower upgrade. Put plug in basin and then couldn't get up again??.

We were down stairs, ground floor so the view was the gardens and vegetation which was maintained and pleasant. Now the bed was so comfortable. It showed me we need to up grade our bed at home. I need the to know what was the name of your mattresses and pillows. Please.

We needed cook8ng facility's due to my husbands dietary constraints and our room was changed with no problems

There was no lift. The bed was badly made and very messy on the second day.

Great location and good value

Lights were flickering, nobody onside after 5pm so forgot to mention before 2nd night. No light near or over the table. Although an attempt to cover the wo down above the door, the light from the street still came through. No chain or safety lock on the door.

Value for money. Not very sound proof. Hear people outside hallway.

The size for our family was great. Having sky in both rooms was nice too, full size fridge was great.

Broken shower, water leaking at hose and poor pressure. Red and black mould wrapping around the entire spa bath. Car was covered in cigarettes and ash from upstairs flicking over their balcony onto our car. In need of a complete renovation if charging the price we paid.

The only thing I can fault is that I couldn't cast anything to the tv and couldn't get anything to work but that was probably my own fault

Good room size, comfy mattress, clean and well equipped room.

When I contacted management at 10.00 p.m. due to noise and offensive language coming from another unit, my call was not answered. I rang again at 10.40 when the noise was getting out of control. I was told there wasn't much she could do as she was a female and by herself, she could potentially call the police but they couldn't do much, she did ring them asking them to keep the noise down, she acknowledged they were drunk but there wasn't much she could do. She eventually contacted the company of these people and they eventually stopped. There was no follow up or check in on our wellbeing. When we returned the next day ( I had booked 2 units for 3 nights) there was no note to apologise for the previous nights incidence and our dishes were not done (there is no tea towel or sink in the unit, so not sure how we were supposed to wash our plate and mug). My colleague was lying on the bed using her lap top when an ornamental cushion was on the bed, this pillow split and I was charged $40, apparently the pillow is worth $70. I cannot believe that I got charged for this and questioned it - why have it on the bed if you are not supposed to lye on it. There were multiple phone calls and messages, during which I also questioned the lack of follow up from our first nights incidence - she said she is the victim! Shocking service and comment to say the consumer.

Very good proximity to main bus route, hospital and food sources. Staff were very accommodating with luggage storage and help to get to our room. Low noise level. Enormous spa bath, thank you

The only problem relates to the location on a corner on a busy road, so access is a bit tricky.

A good size and had a spa bath. Nice and handy as we met family at Browns Bay Beach. Bar, Restaurant and Farro supermarket just across the road.

No lift, hard carrying suitcases up stairs. People above us noisy and threw pizza box off the balcony.

Convenient location to work location. Always a warm welcome. Always clean and rooms are spacious.

We got an upgrade to a bigger room! Friendly staff ❤️. The position of the motel is central to the north shore and you would think that being on such a busy street that there would be street noise, but it was perfect. The air conditioning was a lifesaver with the summer heat.
