The Cherry Tree

The location suited us as we were attending a family event.

I ordered pancakes with fruit, unfortunately one of the pancakes was partially burnt on one side. Poached eggs were ordered and they were overcooked. We asked for toast and marmalade, the toast and butter arrived but with no side plates or marmalade. The toast got cold, but the waitress did take it away and supply fresh toast.

Comfortable with everything you could want in the room. Small but important (to us!) Items included: waste bins in both bedroom & bathroom, box of tissues (so often missing in b&b's) Very quiet, in barn conversion set back from tge main road & the delightful pub. Excellent breakfast (served in the pub)

The buildings and layout were lovely

The room was spacious and very comfortable just what we needed for a few days exploring and big enough that when the weather was bad we could relax on the sofa.

The shower in the bathroom could have been updated, it wasn't particularly powerful or warm. A coat stand by the entrance door to the property would have been great, we had a day of non stop rain and no where to hang wet jackets and trousers apart from over one chair.

It's the fourth time we have stayed at the Cherry Tree pub and we really like it. Fantastic pub with very friendly staff and a great beet garden. The Broadside room is at the back of the car park and is a great size and very quiet away from the road. Nice open plan room with a comfortable sofa and good size TV plus a good separate bathroom.

The only thing for me would be that the shower and sink needs a bit of updating otherwise its perfect.

Lovely pub and accommodation. Very clean and plenty of room. Everything you need for a weekend stay. Great coffee machine and plenty of coffee and tea available. Breakfast very tasty. Woodbridge is a lovely town.

Breakfast menu and Dinner menu was good. Deluxe room was lovely and very clean.

The first issue was the chair to sit at the dressing table. We were getting ready to go to a wedding so I sat on this to do my makeup and hair. After, I stood up I had black material stuck to my skin from the chair. My skin was not wet as I had showered 1.5 hours previously before breakfast. Secondly, after having a lovely breakfast experience Tuesday, we were extremely disappointed with the very poor service and lack of attention from the man that was serving. We arrived at 9.15 and there was one other couple, who had just been given a coffee. We were given a menu straight away and after 2/3 mins if that had decided what we wanted and moved the menu to the side. After chatting to a lady, who I think was a member of staff, for a bit, he sat outside and then started sorting cutlery which continued until my husband got up, 9.40 and said to him, can you take our order please. I asked for water, in which he said I’ll get that for you now but came with our tea and proceeded to go outside and sit, until eventually he then brought is a bottle of water and went back outside. I also went outside. The chef then had to come out and get him but then decided to serve us the breakfast himself. There was no cutlery given to us we had to go and get our own, we wasn’t asked if we wanted sauces ect. This was all very disappointing! Thirdly, we left and went to pack our things up, which was now going to be a rush. We left our door open due to the hot weather and at 10.35 the lady who cleans the rooms came up the stairs, obviously thinking we had checked out. My husband was sitting on the bed and had just finished putting his shorts on! How was this not communicated, we hadn’t checked out.

I stayed at the accommodation last Friday, unfortunately the accommodation wasn’t up to luxury standards advertised, did mention to staff before leaving, the bed was awful, very uncomfortable and was sunken, the bedding had stains on and the fan in the shower was a disgrace, black with dirt, there is a hole in the wall. On arrival we were kept waiting for over 15 mins waiting to be taken to our room, staff were lovely and do understand a Friday is busy. One of the lights next to the bed hadn’t got a bulb. The information sheet has seen better days, and it was dusty and to be honest just seemed uncared for. So sorry to say disappointing stay, food was satisfactory, breakfast was nice. On the whole more like a budget hotel vibe and not the worth the money £141, i note on booking.com it is appearing much cheaper now. I have emailed and messaged but no response.

Parking was tight due to quiz night. But vehicles moving in and out all night so space becomes available. Also breakfast was at 0900 and that’s a little late for a working day. We were on business meetings and would have needed to have breakfast around 0730 to make it work.

Great location both in terms of the venue and the wider location. Easy walk in to Woodbridge. Our accommodation was well placed and just far enough away from the main pub to not get disturbed (although there was no disturbance to avoid). Breakfast options were good and hearty.

Room did not appear to have been cleaned. We booked in for 2 nights but only stayed one. Bed sheets were dirty and bed was very uncomfortable.

Great location. Although we were slightly worried about road noise the accommodation is behind the pub facing away so was a none issue. Also plenty of ventilation even without Aircon.

The room was in the garden next to the pub with an accessible entrance. Very spacious, modern and with all amenities. The pub was old and quaint, the staff were lovely and friendly.

Poor positioning of bathroom light switches so if anybody visited the loo in the night the whole bedroom was illuminated. Poor air ventilation in bedroom and bathroom.

The location very close to Woodbridge town is good easy to find. breakfast and service were excellent and set us up for the day.

Breakfast ok but a bit limited on cereal choice. Plenty of cooked breakfast choices. Location is excellent as only a short ride to town so near all amenities. Food excellent. Plenty of car parking spaces.

The WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms. The mattress on the bed felt like something out of the 90s it was really soft and metal springs. We travel around the country a lot on bank holidays and this is the first b&b we have found that doesn’t offer cereal and fresh fruit as well as fry up for breakfast

We loved staying at The Cherry Tree! Friendly staff, excellent breakfasts, perfect location.

A gentle suggestion: The mattress in the upstairs apartment needs replacing asap. We are not picky, in general, but this mattress is WAY past its prime. It groans and has lumps. Resting comfortably is impossible. It just doesn't meet your standards.

I left early before the pub opened and I was unsure on how to check out. I may have missed the details but i just left the accommodation with the key in there as I was unsure. Maybe a key safe could be an option for people who check out early but this was not an issue for me as such.

The pub is lovely, staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, lovely and quiet at night time.

The bed was really uncomfortable, the mattress had a huge dip in it. The pillows had also seen better days. I would definitely come back but wouldn't be able to sleep in the bed unless it had a new mattress and pillows.

We loved the warm cosy room, comfortable bed and really good breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. We also stayed for dinner which was very good and there was plenty of parking space in the car park. Hope to visit again soon.

Just outside the town centre, so a bit quieter than other places, but a really good atmosphere. Really good staff, from check-in to departure, and a good comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and dinner and with Broadside and Ghost Ship to drink, what's not to like.

A shame the coffee maker was out of action and there are various floorboard creaks and noises from the plumbing in the guest room that take the 10 rating down to 9. But I slept well!

I was a little disappointed with the end of our stay when been told we hadn't paid our bill. Quite honestly, paying on check out is not a good idea as like us others may leave early. I did tell reception we had to leave really early due to dropping my husband at the station and she just said to leave the key. I was made to feel like I had done something really wrong when I called up to pay and quite frankly I found the lady quite dismissive. I would always pay a bill and didn't know we hadn't as booking.com took my card details. I think it could have been handled differently. It's just left a sour taste and I felt it was really uncalled for to be honest.

The room was a good size, well away from the road and very quiet. All of the staff were friendly and helpful from the second we arrived. The food was really good and one of the best breakfasts I have had for a while. It was a very short walk to the town centre of Woodbridge

I can't think of anything we disliked

A hearty breakfast, friendly staff, spacious room, in fact the bathroom was bigger than our own. The accommodation was across the car park away from the busy road so traffic didn't disturb us one bit. Warm and comfy. Great to have coffee, tea and bottles of water which were appreciated. The walk in wardrobe was a nice touch.

I found a sock under the bed which wasn't mine! Didn't like the paintings for sale on the walls as it made it feel less homely. We were on the ground floor and some sound proofing for the ceiling/floor is needed as the people on the first floor started to get ready to leave at 7am and it was noisy. It was then a long time awake to wait for breakfast being served from 9am

The mattresses weren’t very good you could feel all the springs and the bathroom was very tired with poor ventilation so the floor was very damp.

A lovely old pub, with lots of character. The accommodation was at the back of the car park, so no noise was heard. We stayed on the 1st floor accessed via an outside staircase. The room was spacious with an ensuite. The beds were very comfortable and the room temperature could be controlled via a thermostat. Tea and coffee making facilities were supplied. The staff were also very helpful and breakfast was included each morning in the pub, a great selection. Many thanks for an amazing stay.

Just one complaint, the Wi-fi was terrible. Although I think it may be the area itself.

Noisy crowd of smokers gathered during night hours, outside entrance to accommodation, banging doors on exit/entry and leaving pile of cigarette butts on walkway in morning. Disrupted sleep. No toilet paper in gents toilet in pub.

Nice old pub with rooms in a separate building at the end of the car park. Room on ground floor was spacious (possibly suitable for a wheel chair user??) but not particularly welcoming or comfortable but functional. Until need to ho to the pub to eat and it is poiring with rain. Meals and beers good served by friendly efficient staff

The room was a converted barn. It was a lovely big room, plenty of space, and a bit away from the pub, so no noise. Large bathroom and plenty of space to hang clothes. Iron and ironing board in room, which was handy. Cherry Gardens is in an excellent position for all of Woodbridge

Breakfast was gnerous withplentyof choice. The room was a good size with plenty of storage. Bed and pillows comfortable - nice to have a top sheet as well as duvet for when it is hot. We liked having the garden outside the room and the beer garden and playground for visiting grandchildren. We enjoyed our meal in the pub one evening. Liked being able to cut across the playing field behind to get to the park and town.

We were woken early both mornings by movement from the room above. The room was very light in the morning as blind didn't fill the space. Curtains would have been nice. The Eton mess had sold out at dinner in the pub so made my own with some ice cream taken back to the room!
