Stunning views of the river, the rooms were clean and spacious, beds were super comfortable, beautiful fragrances in the rooms. Also high quality food served in both restaurants, in particular Soyan which is genuinely delivering world class cuisine, very impressive. The friendly staff were a real bonus, good level of English during the day. The location isvery close to Wulai old town. Hot spring spas in each room are a real luxury.

The air conditioning failed one night leading to a very poor nights sleep. The hotel did a great job compensating us and it was just one of those things. The restaurant service was quite poor, staff didn’t seem well trained, no drinks list offered, rushed service, plates being cleared before both parties had finished. Also having to select dinner and breakfast options the day before and choose a time was definitely not a luxury touch.

We had an amazing stay at this spa hotel in Taiwan and truly felt pampered from the moment we arrived. The facilities were excellent, the atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious, and the beautiful views made the whole experience even more special. What stood out the most was the incredible staff. The team constantly thought about every little detail and always tried to make sure we had everything we needed before we even asked. Their level of care and hospitality was exceptional. One of our guests is vegan and gluten-free, and the hotel went above and beyond to prepare special meals for her throughout the stay. Every dish was thoughtful, delicious, and prepared to a very high standard, which made a huge difference for us. The only small disappointment was that the outdoor pool by the river was not operating during our stay. Aside from that, everything was simply perfect. We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and grateful for such a wonderful experience, and we would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special and relaxing getaway in Taiwan.

This hotel is part of Relais & Châteaux but I cannot understand it is in their portfolio. It meets none of their stated criteria. The whole property is very dated; the rooms and public spaces are tired and shabby; value for money is appalling. On the day we arrived we couldn't get the WiFi to function, even with the help of hotel technicians. The hotel's air conditioning does not work and the stand-alone air con units are noisy. The instructions are only in Chinese characters so impossible to control. The double-glazed windows are semi-opaque and should have been replaced. The bedroom windows are not child-safe. A child or small adult could easily climb out. At check in, the hotel took details of my wife's food intolerances (e.g. onions and shallots). This information never reached the chef. During dinner, my wife discovered that she had been eating 'shallot butter'. No one in the dining room speaks English. After asking if the other courses contained onions we were told no. The chef lied. The fish course did contain onions. It is not possible to order white wine by the glass. The fixed dinner is the same every night so the kitchen changed most of the courses on the second night, though we had no idea what we were eating. The main course was the same both nights. We were not asked how we liked our steak cooked. My wife was not ill, so I assume none of the courses contained onions. We were offered no choice of eggs at breakfast. We were served scrambled egg on the first morning which was fine. It was about 7.15am. The second morning, we were served fried eggs. They were hard-boiled, rubbery and burnt on the underside. We had breakfast at 8.15am and I suspect the eggs had been cooked much earlier in the morning and left to dry out on a hot plate. We were charged the full room rate for our stay. I complained to senior management who agreed with all the above complaints yet refused any refund.

Although there were a few minor issues during my stay, the hotel's sincere handling ensured I was able to check out without any unpleasant feelings. I would like to visit again.

The hotel is very special. Exactly what we wanted for our escape. The onsen was lovely and treatment options very relaxing. Quick walk into the little town and glorious countryside views

It was absolutely stunning. The views from the dining areas, reception, and our room were amazing. This was the nicest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The room was fabulous and so was the service. The room change over for evening time was incredibly thoughtful and made for a romantic evening.

For any non Chinese speaking guests you should make sure you translate any food allergies so that there are no misunderstandings. I was served the food item I am allergic to 2 of the 3 times I was served food. Luckily it’s a mild allergy so having it on the plate is fine but if you have severe allergies translate to confirm would be recommended.

The resort was in a beautiful location next to the river. The rooms were super comfy and spacious with its own spa tub. The food was delicious and prepared by a chef and included in the room cost.

Just little dangerous to walk to old town from hotel since there weren’t walking path. It’ll be nice to have a shuttle to drop and pick up from old town.

The property is absolutely stunning, with beautiful rooms, some of them with river and mountain view. The ensuite mini onsen in the room is the perfect escape from the reality of a full day's hike. The food included in the half board is tasty and beautifully presented

Love everything here! So relaxing and meaningful (about the indigenous tribe’s stories and culture). The services were all excellent and all food was delicious and beautifully presented!

Staying at Volando was the complete package!! The staff were fantastic and the location looking over the most beautiful river and to be able to relax was all part of their approach. you did not have to leave the accomodation if you didn't want too as everything was catered for to make your stay great. The building itself and its artwork stands apart and the artist who created the drums and brass sculptures is integral to Volando ( you will learn why). Their ceremonies were memorable. The spa component was a highlight and it was wonderful to just come and go as you liked to use the facilities. The massage treatments were some of the best we have experienced. We enjoyed the delicious array of food and both the chinese and french fare were very good. Our room which had a river view was lovely and unassumingly perfect. Also we really loved the area of Wulan and our hosts gave us a map and great advice of the area and what to try, the little railway and the gondola to the waterfalls was fun. A huge thankyou again to the Volando team for making our stay so beautiful.

An incredible stay at the resort. It's truly an experience to live with a dedicated but discreet team ! Even if the price may be high for Taiwan, note that it's a relais château and you're entirely taken care of from breakfast to night snack ! It is worth it and great value for money

The service was exceptional, from the front desk to the restaurants to the spa. I almost cried when we were shown our room. It was huge and had a beautiful view of the tranquil river outside. The spa was excellent, there is a public portion that is also great! The hotel was a really short walk to the historic village, where we took a tram up the mountain. The village had amazing street food. The food in the hotel was gastronomy and one could tell that great care went into the planning and preparation of it. The room was supplied with coffee and tea and snacks. All in all, it was very hard to say goodbye. Great accommodation and service for the price.

There was nothing I didn't like about this place and we will go back on our next trip to Taipei. It's a great place to get over jet lag and the uber from Taoyuan airport cost less than our airport ride in Los Angeles.

We had a wonderful time staying at this hotel and the staff was really lovely, patient and helpful. I misread the French menu and didn’t see that they didn’t have a main course option which I could choose as a pescatarian, and they made a last minute substitution perfectly. I would highly recommend anyone seeking a restful getaway to opt for Volando. Our only suggestion is if there could be a gym added (but the surroundings are perfect for hiking)!

Loved our time during our staff. Everything was top notch, and staff were very friendly. Highly would recommend to anyone staying in Wulai, and would definitely try to stay longer on my next visit!

The Hotel is at an amazing location, you can enjoy the hot springs direct in the Hotel Spa. It’s tasteful designed and the staff is lovely and helpful.

It needs urgent a make over, painting and some maintenance work all over. Unfortunately nowhere to sit outside to enjoy the view, we had to go somewhere else. The breakfast is compare to other hotels too simple and you have only two choices. Dinner the same, no wine bar or anything to drink after dinner. It’s actually in a high price range but I think it’s far too expensive for what it is. Such a beauty, with a bit effort easy to wake it up.

We can select the scent of the room, which made the stay very enjoyable. The food is great! (Afternoon tea, dinner, beef noodles and breakfast) I love the activities, performance and the art tour of hotel!

The spa is quite full. We can’t make any booking when we arrived the hotel, shall reserve it in advance. Need to pay attention to the hotel shuttle bus schedule, as it’s only one bus for every 2 hours.

The hotel cerebrated our birthday surprisingly ,made our hearts very warmly.

Our room’s Bathroom chair got moldy. The beef we ate at the dinner time was tough a little.

良好服務態度，絕美的風景與人文。餐廳舒適，一泊四食的豐盛餐點，兼具健康與美味。 館內整潔，處處有令人驚艷的芬芳，但角落的蜘蛛網、斑駁的外牆、過度生長的通道間植栽、老舊的大浴場衛浴設備是稍微扣分的地方。

人文的經營很用心,但是設備可能因為年久未再整理,感覺有些不搭; 節目很用心安排,但是環境腹地局限,活動範圍太小; 早晨湯池開放時間太晚

一走入大廳聞到香氛精油，整個心情都放鬆下來，下午茶、晚餐、宵夜和早餐都非常好吃，房間內提供的音樂也很適合沈澱心情，真的可以感受到酒店希望入住的房客都可以享受生活，可惜這次沒看到生活儀式藝術表演，之後有機會一定會再來～

頂級住宿體驗，從代客停車、辦理手續、幫忙拿行李進房到介紹房間及整體飯店都非常棒，下午茶精緻好吃，大浴池則稍微普通，但有戶外浴池，在低溫中泡溫泉很舒服，唯一可以挑剔的是餐點部分，感覺食材都很高級，但呈現出來的味道很還好，有可能是我們自己口味不合，但晚餐上菜速度實在太慢，整體吃完大概要2小時，難道是因為是法式的所以連上菜速度都要法式?早餐一樣也是口味上沒有很喜歡，但整體餐點的呈現方式都是很高級根與有質感的，床的部分非常舒適無可挑剔，房內飲品皆免費，浴室硬體及備品也都非常高級舒適，唯一小缺點是浴池是用石頭材質砌成的，可能當天真的太冷，熱水竟然無法維持，導致熱水放滿後呈現上面水很熱，下面卻是溫涼的水溫，真的不誇張，一直狂加熱水也一樣，而且會導致上面的水溫太高，這種現象還是第一次遇到，石頭沒泡到水的部分也冰的可以，所以合理推測是石頭導冰的速度過快導致的。整體來說仍是非常棒的體驗

The property was quite old but fairly well-maintained. We stayed in a bigger room but the room smelled damp and a bit moldy. The public hotspring is nice but weekend could be quite crowded.

Beautiful property and view, wonderful staffs. Some parts of the building showing signs of aging. The infinity pool is now only used for performances, wish they reopen it for swimming.

A very nice hotel in the Wulai area. The hotel is well designed, with art work or artistic decoration everywhere. The price of the room include 4 meals, in addition to dinner and breakfast, you also have afternoon tea, and a light late supper. There is a good show at 3:30pm outside the café where you have afternoon tea. A very good show, don't miss it. The dinner is also nice. They attended to details such as preference or allergic to food. The hotel would ask you well before you check in. Our room is facing the river, with a nice view and very quiet. Book a room with a river view, and don't forget to spare some time to enjoy the view. The hotel is a short wall from the Wulai old street, about 5-10min. Not a difficult walk, however, it is along a busy country road, with narrow pavement. It would be better if the hotel could provide shuttle bus to and from the Wulai old steet, so that the guest could avoid walking on this busy road. The hot spring bath is good, as expected for a hotel of this price range. However, the sauna rooms (both hot and dry) are disappointing. The temperature is too low for a decent sauna. And, the rooms seemed not well maintained. The price of the hotel is extremely expensive. Given the meals, services, shows, hot spring, river view, etc., this is understandable.

服務景觀餐點都一流，很滿意會想再次入住！ 唯一小缺點是我預定時備註希望是低樓層但最後是最高的七樓，感覺比較意外，但瑕不掩瑜。

We love the service and the property. We’re greeted with warm friendly staff and very detailed introduction of the hotel by Jacob. The dinner at the restaurant was very nice. The public hot spring area need a little tidying up , we end up soaking up in the hot spring 🛀 bathtub in our room . Our room was the rooftop suite with balcony, specious and comfortable bed 🛌, only misshaped was some dirty used teapot and open bottles of drink in the refrigerator. Overall the price was high for what they offered. We love hot spring in Japan and this hot spring hotel need to pay more attention to details if they want return customers. The essential oil burner they use through out the hotel was big plus, feels very calm & relaxing 😌
