Nice shower!

Run down part of town. Location - too noisy! Boy racers up and down street until midnight. People sitting outside our windows until past 11pm. Given a number to ring for help but no one answered. Left a vm and eventually noise stopped. Left windows closed, south/west facing during the day for room to heat up unbearably and we found it difficult to cool down! Blinds didn’t keep out street lighting which meant light shining into room all night. Couldn’t keep windows open, too noisy. Entrance through rough looking pub or past all the bins up the fire escape. NOT a friendly welcome. It was almost like we were too much trouble. Couldn’t connect to WiFi, even landlord couldn’t help. Couldn’t sleep.

Very friendly staff, breakfast excellent. The hotel is situated close to seafront. Good central location with shops very near.

My room was very small, the shower excellent but the shower cubicle is incredibly small. (See pictures) Any one of a larger bulk than me would struggle The room was very noisy as it was situated above the front entrance and the outdoor seating area especially later in the evening. No onsite parking, although a car park is approximately 400 yards away.

The staff were welcoming and helpful and friendly The room was lovely and clean with a great bathroom.overall the whole stay was wonderful and we have already booked for next year.

Can't be helped as its above a pub so Saturday night music but it stopped promptly at 11pm so good really.

Lovely spacious room. Comfortable bed, nice pillows and bedding.

Did not know how lively this pub was. Our room was directly above the outside drinking area which on a Saturday night was packed. It also has regular live bands. Extremely loud, finally quiet at 1am. Even with windows shut the noise from outside was deafening. Also the band was terrible, heavy metal music, vibrating through our room. Do not book if you want an early night. Breakfast was from their normal menu, terrible coffee and tea, no buffet style ie fruit juices, cereals.

Nice decor, comfy bed, good shower, great position. Big bonus having live music right outside as I sat on my bed about 7.30...that was fab. Great duo btw.🙂

No parking on arrival. Went for breakfast and was very mediocre and was told toast cost extra?? Ordered a bacon roll with a well done egg but a sausage bap turned up then a bacon bap with a very runny egg?? It's not hard to do a well done egg. The staff were not attentive and waited 35 mins for breakfast so second morning we didn't bother. Only 2 teabags in the room for 2 people.

We had breakfast in our stay the selection was limited there was and extra charge to one of the breakfast, you were only allowed one drink. Also they need to tell you at check-in how the breakfast works as there were 3 couples who were shown the area for breakfast, but then left sitting at their tables whilst staff ignored you and never told you that you had to go to the bar to order your breakfast and once ordered you had to wait 30 minutes for it to arrive, i don't think the staff were morning people

The fire escape isn't idea for bedroom one as the noise of the stairs and door slamming. You need to find away to utilise the front door of the pub

The inhouse cooking was very nice.

You shouldn't go here if you want any sleep.

The room was a good size, clean. Stuff was very friendly, good food. I liked the Location. Next to the cash machine, shop, close to the beach and playground.

Room needed a bit more dusting. Hotel is also a pub, so it was very loud in evening impossible to fall asleep.

The Refurbishment is 5***** Well Done !! Fresh, Clean, Modern Bedrooms & Bathrooms with the motion sensor lights which are great, as well as the USB Plug Sockets by the bedsides. The new Carpets & Decor are lovely. Great Menu which is very reasonably priced. We had lovely Breakfasts. 5* Location, close to the Beach & High Street shops/restaurants. Would highly recommend & will definitely be back, Thankyou. 👌😃👍

Net curtain would be nice in Rm5 for Privacy from the front of the premises. An ashtray/bin would be appreciated by the outside steps :)

The room was spotless and very modern. The bathroom was excellent. Particularly liked the sensor might lights.

The breakfast was very basic. We expect orange juice, toast and preserves, and hot drink replenishment with Bed & Breakfast. This made me give a low rating for money. However, what we had was nice.

We arrived at 2 .30 surely they could have let as check in . To find to park our car was a nightmare. Didn’t find the staff helpful we have stayed here no of times no issues with parking on their premises this is why we booked the Victoria my wife is getting over a massive heart attack and the walk to the car was a fair distance away

It was a clean and comfortable place to stay the facilities were clean and modern the food was superb and all the staff very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay for the 2 nights we were there.

The Karaoke, in the evening, went on until gone midnight. The noise outside continued until at least 12.30. You could also hear people talking in the adjoining bedrooms.

the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. the carpark round the corner was good value for money.

there was only 2 tea bags in the room not enough. we wasn't given the gate code to get back in the building so had to come through a busy crowded pub which was difficult. when entering the bathroom nearly slipped as bathroom floor was soaking wet no sign left to say it was wet,could of been quite dangerous. could only open the window a little bit as had some kind of lock thing on it,which made room quite hot,no fan in room. maybe would be good idea to supply a fan especially in summer months.

We stayed passing through on our way to Devon with our shih tzu Jasper. The pub was clean and the staff very accommodating with keeping Jasper's food fresh in the fridge. Friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate and the bed oh wow fantastic sleep. It was a Friday so pub was very busy. If you want peace and quiet go somewhere else! We loved it stayed up till 10pm haha. People enjoying themselves didn't affect us we slept well!

The staff were good and the cleanliness of the room was fine but from my travel experiences the word ‘’hotel’ is just a bit misleading, this is just a large pub with rooms rather than a hotel!

One blind would not work so had to hang towel over window to prevent people looking in. Only one chair for two guests - plenty of room for second chair. Breakfast supposed to be served from 9 a.m. but door from accommodation down to pub still locked until 9:10 - no apology for this or answer on supposed emergency contact number.

Although they have double glazing, you can still hear everything from outside. Seagulls in morning and any late night terrace drinkers.

Close to the seafront and shops. Friendly staff, nice room big enough for a few nights stay. Very comfy bed. Everything very clean and tidy. Breakfast was freshly cooked. The menu looked good although we didn't try it this time. Wow to Lauren . Barmaid ,waitress, chambermaid etc., friendly capable and unflappable. Very good value for money

It was very hot during our stay it would have been lovely to have a ceiling fan. There was a fan that would normally have been enough but not this weekend. We were facing the street so noisy if you had the window open. There isn't any free carpark. But carparking nearby.

Good, central location. Room was very clean , spacious and comfortable and staff friendly. Evening meals were enjoyable and excellent value for money. We were expecting the room to be noisy as over the front of a busy pub but not as much as expected

Parking not available at the property, so need to plan in advance where is closest. We found a public car park free after 6pm but then needed to go back in the morning to put money on to cover till after breakfast. Small drawback for us was that breakfast wasn’t served until 9am , but this was probably on property details when I booked and hadn’t noticed

Would probably be a lot noisier on Friday and Saturday after 11.00pm. We experienced some late night noise but nothing I wasn't expecting as we were sleeping above a pub.

Parking and attitude of staff

The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. It looked like it had fairly recently been refurbished. Absolutely no problem with our dog staying in the room.

We arrived Friday evening and the pub was super busy. Obviously the room is above a pub so some noise is expected but this was seriously like being above a nightclub until the very early hours. Now for some this might be fine, and it was the weekend, but worth knowing especially if you are staying with children.
