We booked a 3 bedroom and no one told us it was located outside the resort. It was infested with ants and now my toddler has ant bites all over him

The Location is perfect, the hotel is spotless and so much attention to detail. I didn’t expect Pool Towels, free water bottles, beach bag and biscuits. As a 3 star i was expecting just the basics so it was a pleasant suprise. The pool area is so clean and has such a lovely sea view i was very impressed. Definitely feels more than a 3 star hotel.

From the moment we arrived it was a lovely experience, arrived around 11:45pm and still nothing was to much trouble, the receptionist was very helpful and accommodating. The apartment was really nice and clean with everything you could possibly need. We had a room with a sea view balcony and we could sit out any night with peace and quiet, even though it's not too far from the strip, we couldn't hear anything, perfect sleep too. The pool area was lovely, never any issue's getting sun loungers even going out around 10am. On the day we left we checked out at 11am and weren't getting picked up until around 6pm, the staff allowed us to continue using all the amenities throughout the day even kept our cases safe in a locked room and allowed us to shower and get changed in a separate bathroom before being picked up ( at no extra charge), it made the day so much easier, would love to return, thank you for a wonderful stay.

This was our third stay at 3HB Golden Beach, although our previous visit was around ten years ago. The hotel itself is still stunning and has been maintained impeccably. The apartments, grounds and communal areas are beautifully presented, and the staff were lovely throughout our stay. It’s clear that the hotel works extremely hard to maintain its high standards. Sadly, the surrounding area has changed considerably since our last visit. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, and it genuinely makes me sad because we previously loved coming here. This time, however, we travelled with our toddler and my parents, and the noise, atmosphere and lack of suitable amenities nearby made the location disappointing for a family holiday. On arrival, guests are asked to agree to rules including no reserving sunbeds, no smoking around the pool and restrictions on inflatables. These are sensible rules intended to keep the hotel pleasant for everyone, but unfortunately they weren’t consistently enforced. People regularly smoked around the pool and large inflatables were used despite the rules. Ironically, our towels were removed from our sunbeds on the one occasion when I’d only briefly gone back to the room to collect my husband and son! This led me to question why that particular rule had been enforced so strictly when the smoking and inflatables were largely being ignored. The most serious issue occurred on the second night of our ten-night stay. Another guest spent much of the night repeatedly coming out of his room, slamming the door and arguing loudly with his partner in the open area immediately below us. When I called for help, I was told that reception was closed and that I would need to go downstairs and find the security guard myself. That would have required me to walk directly past the guest who was behaving aggressively, so understandably that suggestion didn’t land particularly well. The hotel moved us to another room afterwards, which we appreciated. The staff were clearly embarrassed and upset by what had happened and handled the situation sympathetically once they became aware of it. However, the replacement room was noticeably more tired than our original apartment. Being moved did at least reduce some of the noise coming from the direction of the Strip, which would otherwise have really affected our holiday. My parents’ room was at the rear, facing a large hotel that appeared to cater mainly for younger groups. They usually enjoy sitting outside on their balcony in the evenings, but the amount of noise from the hotel opposite made that difficult. Again, this wasn’t caused by 3HB Golden Beach, but it’s something potential guests should consider carefully when choosing a room. I would strongly recommend paying for a sea-view room at the front of the hotel. We also used to really enjoy visiting Albufeira Old Town, but this time it felt dirty, seedy and run-down in places. There were large groups of men, hen/stag parties and younger groups spilling out from the bars – with the football being shown during our visit adding to the atmosphere. It simply wasn’t what we wanted from a holiday with a toddler and older parents. The difference compared with our previous visits was striking. The Strip existed ten years ago, of course, but the wider area now felt much noisier and more unruly, with the effects spreading considerably beyond the Strip itself. The general area felt dirty and run down. I want to be very clear that this isn’t a criticism of the hotel’s appearance, cleanliness or general service. The hotel remains immaculate, the pool area is lovely and the staff genuinely seemed to care. They’re clearly trying hard to preserve a high-quality environment despite what is happening around them. Unfortunately, location and atmosphere are still part of the overall holiday experience. As beautiful as 3HB Golden Beach remains, I couldn’t now recommend it to anyone looking for a reliably quiet family holiday. That’s a real shame because the hotel itself deserves better from its surroundings.

Location - new end of town. 100 metres from Praia de Oura, lovely beach. A few beach bars/restaurants. Apartments are on a hill, people with walking difficulties may struggle. ( a lot of the paths are cobbles with some holes occurring, not great for stilletos 😂) up the hill about 200m is "the strip" just over half a mile of pubs and clubs. In the day, all ages enjoy them however in the summer months it is home to 18-30 and hen and stag doos but don't let that put you off as there are lots of families in the bars throughout the day and early evening. The youngsters only go out about 11ish. We went out a few nights and there are all ages, enjoying a few drinks and a dance. Despite the close proximity, you do not hear the strip at all at the apartments [ ] Apartments - clean, quiet, spacious and well equipped! Washing up liquid, scourer and tea towel supplied as well as shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Towels are supplied for both pool and beach use! Daily cleaning, friendly helpful staff. Beautiful setting, flowers. Many sea view apartments, worth the extra money. [ ] Families and couples. They do not accept stag, hen parties and large groups of young people. [ ] No evening or daytime entertainment however twice weekly there is a singer and a saxophonist by the pool. 4-6pm [ ] Inflatables not allowed in the pool ( that would have been a deal breaker when our daughter was younger) didn't bother us as it was just the two of us [ ] Two local supermarkets however Aldi is an 18 minute walk. Great if you have your rucsacks [ ] If you like the self catering set up, this is perfect. Even though the strip is close there are many very good restaurants that we tried and loved. It is known as a party area but it was packed with families who will be tucked up in bed or on their balconies unaware of the mayhem of the strip 😂 [ ] Old Town - about 2 miles away easily accessible by Uber or a tuk tuk (every localish journey is 10 Euros) Uber is cheaper We were so impressed, we booked to return whilst we were sat on the balcony on our penultimate day. We very very rarely return to the same place. Thank you 3 HB staff!

We had a fabulous week at Golden Beach this summer. The hotel is perfect: so clean, beautifully kept and an oasis of tranquility. The staff are excellent, the pool inviting and the rosé is chilled! Close to some great restaurants - Vivaldo’s a particular favourite - and a lovely beach, supermarkets, etc. Thank you for a great holiday.

3hb Golden Beach is a lovely hotel. The rooms and grounds are immaculate. Our room was really spacious and the kitchen is very well equipped. The pool towels and water bottles are a really lovely touch. The staff can’t do enough for you and a special mention to Anna on reception who is the kindest and smiliest host. The cleaners accidentally sent some clothes to the cleaners with the bedding and she went over and above to visit the laundry to retrieve them when they said they couldn’t find them. The pool bar is really reasonably priced and yummy food. Nothing fancy but great toasties, sandwiches and salads. The pool is a little small and the beds are limited. It isn’t helped when selfish Brits put towels down early and don’t appear until after lunch. I would lose the kids splash pool and put more beds there as it was never used. We just headed to the beach if beds were all taken but that only happened once. The location is great for the beach and the strip but as a family with a young teen we did very well to avoid it and I’d head to the St Euelia area if you want a more chilled vibe. The strip is ok with kids before 11.30pm but we never ate or drank there - it looked awful. Nearby restaurant gems are Neto, Cepa Velha and Cozy corner cafe for brunch. We don’t like “English food” so if you like good local food and fish try O Lusitano, Double D for tapas and Omanjar in Old Town is exceptional. I would 100% return to this hotel but I’m not sure if return to Albufeira as it is over ran with 18-21 year olds or stays/hens which was unpleasant with a young family. Final tip - the algar experience boat and brunch trip to the Benagil caves was exceptional and the highlight of our holiday.

The unit was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The pool was great. Pool bar. Daily clean towels for pool and beach. Central Algarve location.

The immediate surrounding area was extremely noisy at night. People from other hotels drunk and singing all through the night on the top of their lungs.

This was a great location with a beautiful view. We were celebrating a special occasion and this hotel gifted us with complimentary sparkling wine to celebrate. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. They even have a communal bathroom in the lobby that comes in handy when leaving the beach or after checking out. The parking is challenging unless you pay for parking on site however if you’re strategic you can score great parking at no cost. We lived our stay the room was spacious and clean.

The perfect hotel in the perfect location. Pool area is small but it is all you need! Great pool bar with snacks and drinks. Rooms are fantastic and spotless!! Lovely hotel and will def return.

The apartment is amazing! It’s so clean, big and have everything you need. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The location is perfect, only 3 minutest walking to the beach and 30 minutes walking to the old town. Even if the apartment is next to the strip, it’s very quiet and perfect for a relaxing holiday. I can highly recommend this place.

We spent 4 nights at the Golden beach, what an amazing place it was. We arrived at 1pm , our room was ready for us and we were upgraded to a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom deluxe with full sea view! The views were amazing, it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided if we needed them. The free beach towel service was very convenient, and the complimentary beach bag with milk, biscuits, crackers and reusable water bottles was a lovely touch. The pool area was lovely and we had no issues getting a sun lounger, the little bar was great for lunch and a frozen daiquiri or two! The ladies on reception were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The location was great for us, 2 minute walk to the beach and to the Tuktuks to take you into old town for 10 euros. The strip was a 10 minute walk up the hill, there was a bakery and supermarket a couple of minutes walk too. We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Golden Beach and will definitely be booking again :)

Just back from the best family holiday. Travelled with our 2 teenage boys and this resort was perfect. Location amazing 2min walk to beach and 5min walk to bars and restaurants. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with sea view and it was fab, loads of space for a family of 4 (2 boys 14 and 17), staff were exceptional 👌, so clean and helpful. The resort was spotless cleaning constantly and reception and management staff were so friendly ! Pool are was beautful and never an issue getting a sunbed, relaxing day at the pool and fun at beach was just perfect. Pool bar prices were great value .. happy hour great and food exactly what we needed for lunch or snacks. If you are planning a relaxing and fun holiday, from crazy fun on the strip, or lovely food at surrounding restaurants, we would 100% recommend this hidden gem of a hotel/appartment. Thanks to the management team for a great holiday.

June holiday to the Algarve and this hotel is perfection. Every area is immaculate and all of the team are so welcoming and friendly. The water bottles and little beach bag are such a nice gesture, nothing worse then lugging around water bottles so having the water foundtain was so lovely! The views from the balcony were stunning, perfect and quiet lovely to sit out on and have your brekafast and of course, get ready for the evening! Pool area and grounds are so well kept, saw an employee checking the pool water each day, life guard on duty the whole day. Plenty beds to go round, no issue with people ‘reserving’ them which was so refreshing to see. The poolside bar was brill! The two staff running it were so lovely. The food was amazing, salads, toasties etc. Cocktials were amazing and great value, same goes for he beer. Don’t be scared by the sofa beds, they were the comfiest beds I have slept on. Fresh towels daily, room turned over etc, also they offer beach and pool towels if you ask at the reception. The gym area, for no added cost, was great. A multifunctional trainer, 3 cardio machines, a small weights area and pull up bar. Perfect for a holiday. Even has its own AC unit. Honestly no faults at all, it’s a great location, quiet, beautifully kept and maintained and the staff are all fantastic. Just got back from 10 days holiday at this fabulous complex. We felt relaxed from the moment the lovely receptionist checked us in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will be returning very soon!

Hotel excellent, rooms very clean and spacious, staff so friendly could not do enough for us lovely pool area and bar. stayed in units 37 and 39 with sea views , we were a group of nine men, sharing two apartments we all thought the apartments and pool were of a very high standard, A special mention to the staff, "a big thank you from all of us" we had a wonderful time.

Just returned on sun 21st June and I must say the only bad thing about this hotel is we could only give it 5 stars well worth at least 10. On arrival we were greeted with a smile from the lovely Gina who along with her team also lovely made our stay fantastic, Our room wasn`t quite ready as we had early flights so we were directed to the bar where we enjoyed some of the best kept San Miguel iv`e ever had at a very fair price then they contacted me to let me know our apartment was ready and boy what a fine apartment it was you want for nothing, The beds where so comfortable air con in lounge and bedroom tv in lounge and bedroom welcome pack on arrival beach bag with milk,biscuits and 2 water bottles to fill up as you please from the ice cold water dispenser, The surrounding area lovely swimming pool surrounded by flowers and shrubs giving a fabulous burst of beautiful colour. Don`t forget to get a Tuk Tuk to the old town great experience and also if you are looking for a great Sunday/wednesday lunch head for the Wayward Inn straight through the strip to the crossroads turn right about three minutes walk on your left you won`t go Hungary. All I can say is thank you Golde Beach we hope to be back next year.

We arrived about 9.30pm. The check in was quick. Walked into room 33. First thing I noticed the smell of cleanliness. Very spacious and clean 1 bed apartment. Balcony great size. Bathroom with a shower and toiletries. Very comfy beds. Apartment cleaned daily with fresh towels given. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, very pretty with lovely colourful flowers. Kept very well. The bar and snack bar were great. Delicious food and cocktails and reasonable price. Enough sunbeds to go round. A nice chilled vibe around the pool. This hotel is only 5 minute walk from the strip but once your there, we couldnt hear anything. We slept so well. It was our anniversary and we had a beautiful surprise left . The staff here are amazing and so helpful and polite. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Highly recommend

We had a fab time at 3HB Golden beach. Love the friendly welcome we received from Anna and the other receptionists. Our deluxe apartment no.33 was very spacious, lovely decor, well equipped, we had a spacious balcony with a partial seaview. The cleaners came in daily with fresh towels etc. We loved the fact that it was a small complex with less than 60 apartments close to the beach. The grounds were lovely with beautiful flower borders and kept beautifully clean. There was a lovely pool and small snack bar, playing music and had happy hour 4 until 6. They had entertainment for a couple of hours twice a week however this was at 4 until 6pm so we only caught the last 10 mins of the saxophone player (who was really good). We think they would benefit from opening the bar up on evenings with some background music as we loved the area with the beach side restaurants however nowhere to sit after food for a drink and music. At the top of the hill was the strip lots of busy restaurants and bars, enticing the young crowds, so lots of stag and hen dos (not our cup of tea at all !) There was some noise from the stag groups at the adjacent apartments however nothing the hotel could do about this. We had some lovely meals at Italian republic a few doors away and O'Davids (brilliant sirloin steak) in old town Albufeira, €5 Uber taxi each way. Zoo marine well worth a visit it was a lovely place to visit the best dolphin show I've seen, lots of other different shows plus rides and waterpark. €10 euros each way Uber. Villamoura family golf and marina worth a visit too. We would definitely recommend 3HB Golden beach and look forward to returning in future.

3HB Golden Beach is a beautiful, clean, central and well-maintained property located a stone's throw from Praia da Oura beach. The staff are incredibly polite and friendly. We were upgraded upon arrival to a room with a stunning view of the beach. The team at the property also noticed it was my partner's birthday during our stay and left a bottle of prosecco and a card in the room for her as a birthday treat. We loved the little touch of the beach bag and refillable water bottles provided to guests on arrival. Would absolutely stay again :) <3

The only small inconvenience was the twin beds pushed together, as we would have loved a double bed. However, the mattress was comfortable :)

Myself and my partner stayed here for 10 nights from 1st June and really enjoyed relaxing around the pool area. It was very clean and surrounded by lovely plants/flowers. Pool towels were supplied which can also be taken to the beach. The food and drinks at the bar were lovely too. Very close to the beach and local supermarkets/restuarants. The resort itself is small but the beaches were very nice. We took a Tuk Tuk to the Old Town and an Uber to the marina. The boat trip to Benagil caves was very good too. My only gripe about the whole holiday was the number of groups of lads and girls who go there to party at the strip. It was embarrassing listening to all the shouting and yeering. I think the strip should be replaced with shops and restaurants, which would make it a nicer area to visit.

After booking we were skeptical of this hotel as we didn’t realise it was down the road from the strip and were worried about other reviews about the sunbeds being taken so early however you cannot hear a noise from the strip in the hotel rooms the hotel was lovely and peaceful. The sunbeds were only about 60% taken by the time it was 1pm plenty of spaces left and seats by the beach bar. The staff and cleaners were all so lovely as was the manager of the hotel. The location is about a 25 min walk from the old town which is lovely to explore or only cost us about £4 in an uber home. The cocktails and food at the bar were also amazing. The hotel apartments were so spacious and open and so clean when we arrived and once the lovely cleaners had been in. They have a filtered water facility in the reception and you are given bottles at the start of the holiday to use which is way more useful than carrying huge bottles back from supermarkets. Couldn’t fault the hotel and 100% would stay here again.

When we booked these apartments we asked to travel agent to send an email requesting a quite room which apparently wasnt received.! My husband isn't well we also pay a premium on insurance. When we arrived we was given room at the side of the bar and pool,the balcony was opposite some private apartments which was extremely noisy around. The apartments are clean and well equipped but the area in which they are located is an absolute hell hole. It's very roudy we was awake all night for 2 weeks. There are people singing shouting at 3pm 4pm onwards . Across the road from the apartments is can only be described has a rough block of flats where people are singing and making so much noise I wanted to come home. We was shown another room opposite a playground just has noisy so didn't bother.These are very nice apartments unfortunately for us it was seriously the wrong area It is the worst holiday we have ever had.

This being our 5th time here, in 3 years, may show how much we like it and just wonderful it is for location and excellent staff. Located down from the strip it is still very quiet with fabulous sea views. The rooms and all areas are kept spotless with rooms cleaned daily. The pool area is lovely and pool towels are provided as well as a lovely little café area. It is all very well kept and the pictures of the rooms are just as they actually are. Both the kitchen and bathroom have the basics that you need for a self catering holiday. It’s a great location for exploring the coastal paths which have easy access to the various types of local buses.

What a beautiful place to stay. Very good value. The staff are amazing. The complex is kept so well. The sea views are beautiful. 3HB Golden Beach is near the strip but is still a beautiful quiet area. A lovely place for couples to have a quiet break away. It's a two minute walk to a lovely beach with shops and restaurants in the area. A real find. We will definitely be back!

Loved this hotel. One bedroom apartment had all the amenities needed. Spacious and very comfortable. We had a fantastic sea view from bedroom and lounge with a balcony that we made good use of. Staff were most helpful and as most people have mentioned, rooms were spotless. Great location for restaurants and bars. Great for the beach. We will definitely come back again.

Great location. Large comfortable rooms. Lovely staff reception and housekeeping. Place is spotless. We had a lovely large corner balcony with sun all day. Room 35 very quiet. Got a lovely bottle of sparkling wine and a lovely note for my birthday which was a great surprise. Close to bars and restaurants. Ubers great for going to Old Town. Also thanks to Jet 2 for there great service.

Rooms were a good size and very clean. Very close to pubs and restaurants but still quiet enough to get a good nights sleep.

Excellent location, 2 minutes to the beach and about 5-6 minutes to Albufreia strip. Comfortable beds, specular view! There is a market/grocery store and 5-6 small shops just below the resort. Remember to bring cooking oil and your cooking spices, salt & pepper and napkins!

This was an amazing stay ! The hotel is clean, staff are nice and are willing to give advice. Our room was beautiful, spacious & we had an amazing view with a terrace. Only advice , if you have young kids , this hotel is right near the strip and that was a little intense to walk with him. We were safe but it’s allot to take in. If you are there for a Hen or stag party , it’s perfect ! Eaither way , we would come back ! We would just make different dinner decisions lol

Great apartment spotless .cleaners in every day .staff friendly near beach and also not far from strip .and a small walk from old town good.taxis very cheap. Happy hour every evening from 4 to 7 .good serve food snacks daily..this is 3rd time we have been and would highly recommend it. Got a lovely pool as well.

We stayed at 3HB Golden Beach for a week as Two adults and one child plus another two adults (separate apartments) in April 2026 and had the most amazing time. Arrived at the apartments before check in time but was able to get changed and store our suitcases and were told we would be called as soon as the rooms were ready. First room was ready by 12.30 and the second by 1pm. The two adults in the second room were upgraded to a superior sea view apartment so our rooms could be near each other, which was a really nice surprise. Also at check in, we received a beach bag, refillable water bottles, some milk, teabags and biscuits which was another fantastic surprise. When we arrived in our room (2 adults, 1 child), there was an Easter egg waiting for our son with an Easter card with his name on it. He was absolutely chuffed when we saw it. The apartments were amazing. Massive living room, kitchen, bedroom (with a king size bed, not two beds pushed together, although we did request this when we booked with easyJet) and a fantastic bathroom with walk in shower. The balcony was brilliant too. Table and four chairs and plenty of extra space. The pool area was a good size, with plenty of sun beds. The lifeguard on duty while we were there was fantastic. There was a small park close to the pool, which our son enjoyed too. The bar was also great, serving a wide selection of drinks (both alcoholic and soft) and a really good food menu. There was even some live music a couple of evenings which was a nice touch. The grounds and whole apartment complex were spotlessly clean. The location was fantastic. Close to a small number of bars and restaurants and then about a 20 minute walk to the old town. A tuk tuk from the top of the escalators, back to the apartments was €10. I cannot recommend 3HB Golden Beach enough. It was really a fantastic place and we will definitely stay again

Beds were very hard

We had such a great time here, the place is gorgeous! The rooms have everything you need and the vibe is so relaxing. The hotel provides water bottles for you and there is a water dispenser to use in reception. It’s so close to everything but still so peaceful. The staff are so helpful and lovely, we were upgraded as we were celebrating our anniversary, this was so sweet of the staff. We will definitely be back!

Wonderfully clean, beautiful sea views. Exceptional staff that are always smiling and greeting you. The goody bag with biscuits milk etc on arrival and a bottle you can refill with cold filtered water from reception which is kind on the planet. Very peaceful and relaxing. Always available sunbeds. Lovely bar with delicious bar food menu. Live entertainment during happy hour some nights, saxophonist was superb & singer. Perfect location as right near the sea with lots of restaurants and bars. Taxis right outside. Quiet in the evenings as mostly families and couples. Room was cleaned every day, lovely white nice smelling towels and bed linen. Kitchen with everything you would need. Will definitely return!

Having to step into the bath for the shower. Although I heard some rooms just have a shower which would be better. Water pressure is great though!

Could not beat location 25mt to beach 100mt to the strip slightly uphill but no problem. Rooms have everything you need we where booked in room 34 excellent but slight problem with a leak and we moved to another room 31 again no problems with a larger balcony also, checked in and we where given a tote bag with two water bottles to refill when we needed at reception two packs of biscuits,, there is a few restaurants on the beach/prom also tjs that do breakfast etc had a cheese toaster which was ok had breakfast a few days later couldn’t recommend watery beans and tinned tomatoes so swimming in liquid..

Lovely apartment, spotlessly clean, sea view, friendly reception staff. Obviously not high season so peaceful location and suited us perfectly.

The 3HB Golden Beach Hotel is situated just metres away from the sun-kissed Oura Beach and the Atlantic Ocean and can be accessed within 45 minutes by car. The Golden Beach has a luxury feeling, but with a warm, friendly vibe, and perfect for solo, friend or family travel and excellent for children due to the warm and inviting atmosphere and all the facilities for any age that the hotel offers. The staff and service are excellent, and are willing to help out in any way or for any service, and will always greet you and provide you with comfort on your holiday. The rooms are cleaned and serviced daily so that you can always feel comfortable while you stay. The cleaners are excellent and the hotel provides a very good hygiene standard. Overall, the hotel is a unique and hidden gem for the people who want to have a holiday in style, while also enjoying the facilities and entertainment provided.

Have just returned from 5 nights staying in these lovely apartments. Super clean, very spacious, the kitchen was well equipped. Had an upgrade to a sea view, and a bottle of wine on arrival (for the "inconvenience" of the ongoing refurbishments, which consisted of seeing workmen walking around, we certainly didn't hear them). Would definitely go back. Staff also super friendly.

I wasn’t aware of the stairs to get to the room. Traveling with an older guest I wish I was informed ahead of time. The bedroom mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable. I wish the property provided paper towels and tissue.

We had last visited Oura more than fifteen years ago so did not know about Golden Beach apartments. From arrival to departure everything was almost perfect. We loved the apartment, 15, with its views over the ocean. It is close to the beach, a few ships and a number of restaurants. We thought that the tote bag, water bottles, biscuits and milk on arrival was brilliant. The staff, bar one, were.so welcoming and friendly. I was amazed at the languages spoken by the delightful reception team. I was put to shame not being able to speak to the maids, but smiles and ola's worked. The only exception was a lady at the bar who, we think, wanted yo lock up early and get home. No harm done, but disappointing. If we have a criticism, it is in the kitchen. There is a microwave, but no microwave dishes. The microwave has a grill, but no containers to use for it. The paper we were given on arrival requests us not to waste water. The cooking pots do not help us to do that. One is big enough yo make soup for forty people, the other for twenty people. This is a four person apartment. We are already talking about coming back in 2026. We cannot give a greater recommendation than that.

We visited for Oct half term and were honestly pleased that the hotel was even better than expected. The room was super clean and turned over every day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool bar was really well stocked with lots of choice of drinks and we all loved the food at lunch. The bar staff worked so hard and were very friendly. They also had entertainment on some nights, the saxophone was brilliant. The location was also fabulous, a very short walk to the beach, a supermarket, a bakery and nice restaurants. We used Uber to go further afield, easy and cheap - circa €6 to the old town and marina. We booked a boat trip to see dolphins with a friendly chap across from the bakery, it was a great trip. Highly recommend this hotel, simply but wonderful.

Just home after 5 nights in Golden Beach. The entire stay was 100% perfect and we could not fault one thing about our stay. Staff were so helpful and the place is spotless. Had a wonderful time and would highly recommend Golden Beach ⛱️ 😎

Just got back from a lovely week at 3HB Golden Beach. The apartment we had was perfect for us, we did upgrade for a sea view but our accommodation was large, light spacious and clean. The little kitchen was the best self catering set up that we’ve experienced. We loved the little welcome bag given on arrival. We ate several times at the snack bar, the menu is not extensive but reasonably priced and very tasty. All the staff were very friendly. It was my birthday while we were there and they left a bottle of bubbly with glasses as a gift which was very sweet. We’d only left a couple of birthday cards on the table before we went out ( genuinely - I hate asking for free stuff! ) so it was a lovely and unexpected gesture from them. Pool area was clean and well kept, I saw someone testing the water several times during our stay. There were always sunbeds available but there were some sunrise towel “reservations” and I can see how it might be a struggle to get one in peak season.

Just returned from 10 days here. Amazing apartments with friendly staff. Apartments very clean as is the full complex. Yes it is at the bottom of quite a steep hill but it's not a long walk to get to the top where it levels off. 5 mins away from the beach & close to the strip but not close enough to be bothered by any noise. Good supermarket just behind bj's bar near the beach. If you go to the top of the hill & turn left & keep on going,you'll find Frankies bar & grill,lovely sunday dinner & breakfast. If you turn right,you'll find more bars & restaurants at cheaper prices than on the strip. The strip does get very busy with the younger crowd later on. Special mention to the pool bar,friendly staff,nice food at good prices. My wife loved their cocktails which again were well priced. Bottle of fizz was waiting for us as it was our honeymoon & rose pettles & towel swans which was a lovely touch. All the staff work really hard & are a credit to the apartments.

Beautiful apartments, excellent check in staff and complimentary beach bag with refillable water bottles , biscuits and milk really lovely touch . Beach towels free and changeable daily if you wish . WiFi available but very patchy at times , water refill machine great idea and personally used every day . Pool area very clean and rock bar food excellent along with lovely staff , issue some folk hogging sunbeds but generally you could get one but we are out of season hate to think what peak times would be like , really enjoyed live music round pool great vibe ! Apartments extremely clean big complements to cleaning staff they do great job 👏🏻 Daily cleaning service I might add . Pool guy testing water daily and lifeguards on duty daily ! Only gripe is beds are awful now I like firm bed but these are like rocks not pleasant to sleep on at all needs sorted immediately 😩 Apartments are on slight hill and incline walk up to strip manageable but would like folk with walking issues would struggle, Tuk tuks 🛺 into old town €10 euro each way and great fun , Uber / taxis are slightly cheaper . Overall excellent holiday

My wife and I have just returned from a 10 day stay at this fantastic facility, We went for our 30th wedding Anniversary and fell in love with this hotel WE WILL RETURN NEXT YEAR GOD WILLING. Everything was spotless rooms cleaned every day if required towels changed every day , on arrival was greeted by Mariana who booked us in our room wasn't quite ready 10-30am we arrived so very early, we were directed to the poolside bar where were able to have some needed food. A short time later Mariana came and found us to say room was ready. Both myself and wife are disabled and again we were helped with our luggage to our outstanding room number one by Mariana. This Lady is a credit to this Hotel but when you go you will find this out for yourself. the other receptionists whom we only seen when passing,Cleaners, Bar staff, pool staff, maintenance staff were very attentive and so well mannered and always had a smile on faces.So please consider this hotel if looking for a well priced gem.100% recommended hotel.Mr & Mrs Caseby Scotland

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 3HB Golden Beach. We were in Apartment 27 which was the highest building in the complex, two sets of stairs to get to it but it was well worth it for the stunning sea view from our balcony. Amazing sun rise and sun set each day. Apartment was spacious and clean with everything you need. A warm welcome when we arrived from the staff at reception together with safe lock (free), welcome bag with milk, biscuits etc..., towel cards (free) and two refillable water bottles to keep (a lovely touch). More than enough sun loungers around the pool although you do get the towel leavers. The beach is very close at hand as an alternative option (€19 for two sun beds and a parasol). Nice and friendly pool bar with snacks and drinks available (happy hour 4-6). Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. Tuk tuk's available just outside complex (€10 euros to go most places) or Ubers are very cheap and easy to book on the app. Reception can call a taxi if necessary. Nice walk into the Old Town (approx 2 miles) with plenty of bars/restaurants on the way.

Not sure its fully functional as self catering as there no oven or grill just two electric hobs and only very basic accessories although plenty of cutlery, glasses and plates but we only had breakfast in the apartment and it was perfect for us. View over to the sea was lovely. beds made and clean towels every day. The staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. Nice location with although the hill you need to climb to get into the new town is very steep and not for the faint hearted. The pavements/roads are not the best either. Once up the hill the strip is there looking at you. We didn't have any noise problem however. Going down the hill you reach the beach and some lovely restaurants Enjoyed our stay

Stayed at the 3hb on the 13 th sept in room16. Very clean throughout and cleaned everyday. The staff were lovely and very helpful when required. Great pool and bar with nice food and good priced drinks. After check in we were given refillable water bottles and a bag of essentials - milk, biscuits for the room. The view from the room was fantastic, some steps to it, but no problem. Locally there are some great places to eat and drink about 100m down the hill. Walk up and you are in the new town in 10 mins or get a tuk tuk. Overall a fantastic hotel with beautiful surroundings. Would we stay again 100% yes.

Writing this as we prepare to leave for home after 10 days. This is a gem of a complex. The staff are really helpful. Some of the issues in previous reviews. Ants.. yes there are, but only if there is a food source. Remove the food source, and they will go. I also brought a tin of RAID with me because of the reviews..sprayed round the doors and had no issues Sunbeds.. we are out with school holidays so had no problem with getting a sunbed everyday. I can see how this might be an issue.. selfish people claiming beds with towels and you never see them all day. The pictures of the pool area is exactly what it says on the tin though! I have stayed here twice before this visit. We love the hotel but the strip at the top of the hill is wild and although no noise from the actual strip itself, there can be shouting/noise from people in the early hours out in the street. Albufeira Old Town is €5 in an Uber and we opted for there.. A very special shout out goes to Ella and Miguel who run On The Rocks bar at the hotel.. hard working, brilliant service with a smile everyday!

I stayed here with my partner and two children (12&15) August 30th- September 6th. Firstly we never had any problems with getting a sunbed but I think this was because of the time we went, I can understand why this would be a problem on a more busier week as it’s a smaller area so I’d suggest not going in term time if you plan to spend your time at the hotel. The hotel is great, I emailed before hand asking for a quieter room which they did. We were in room 36 and never heard any noise at all. We arrived at 10:30 and check in isn’t meant to be until 4pm but got in for 11am. The hotel staff are probably the nicest we’ve come across and do try to do everything to make your stay a good experience. On arrival your given water bottles and there is a filter machine in reception that you can use anytime to fill your water bottles. There is a coffee machine in your room and if you want extra pods is 50 cent each. We did have some ants but again you can let reception know and they’re also not like UK ants where you find absolutely loads of them. The pool bar has food and drinks, food is chips, pizza, baguettes, toasties, burgers the price can range from €4-€8. There is also a cafe which is a few mins away with breakfast cobs and a more variety menu. The cafe is located in a complex where there is a coffee shop that serves pastries and a supermarket with a few other shops. The sea/beach is about 5 mins away. We brought a parasols for €35 euro instead of renting sunbeds and then saw you can get these cheaper in different shops a bit further away. We did go into old town twice and a Uber costs between €4-€6 each way. This place can be made cheap if you need it to as there are cooking facilities in the apartment. We did venture out to the strip most nights for food and didn’t find it that crazy. It does get busier as it gets later. We didn’t find any negatives. We really did enjoy our time here. Eine wunderbare Anlage, liebevoll gestaltet, sehr große Terrasse mit Meerblick, ab und zu etwas Live Musik am Pool - aber nicht bis spät in die Nacht, herzlicher Empfang mit einer kleinen gefüllten Willkommenstasche, aber das Beste ist die ausgesprochen schöne geräumige Wohnung, die sehr sauber gehalten wird und der Strand mit etwas belebteren Buchten, aber hinter dem nächsten Felsvorsprung auch ruhigeren kleinen Buchten.

Die Betten waren für unseren Geschmack etwas zu hart, aber das ist letztlich Geschmackssache

These are lovely apartments, we were in 22 a deluxe one bed with a sea view. On arrival we were given reusable water bottles each and biscuits. A lovely touch and environmentally friendly approach as it could be refilled every day instead of buying lots of plastic single use. The rooms and pool areas were kept extremely clean and well tended to by staff. Some other guests encountered ants but we did not. The overly complex was lovely. Pool area & toilets were very clean. There is a very friendly staffed pool bar on site open until 7pm that was very reasonable with nice food and drinks. Kids loved the milk shakes & slushi’s. There are some good amenities near by as you walk towards the beach, a supermarket in the little precinct and a lovely little bakery for bread and cakes. ‘The strip’ is close by however the noise did not bother as we did not hear any party goers from the complex. For dinner we preferred to seek out the street of family friendly restaurants, or to head towards the beach or catch a taxi to the old town. We didn’t have an issue with sun beds, or people reserving. There were prob some days when availability was limited around the pool but it didn't bother us. A nice touch to also be given washing up liquid, soaps, shower gels. I used used the little gym on site and this was well air conditioned and did the job! All in all a lovely little complex with great customer service and cleanliness.

Stayed here for a week with my husband and 2 teenagers (14 & 15) . We had a wonderful week. Location brilliant for beach, the strip and the town. The waves were fantastic, beach lovely. Hotel itself is brilliant, rooms cleaned everyday, towels provided daily. We were in room 35 which was fantastic, huge balcony and nice and out the way! Pool area clean and had a great vibe and always managed to get a sun-bed. Lifeguard too which I always think is a bonus! Alex the jet 2 rep was fantastic! So knowledgable and helpful and sat with us and gave us a lot of time and great places to go to (we hired a car for a few days and he marked off some great places on the map for us. He was very helpful and a lovely guy. Pool bar food is lovely and the 2 people running it are also very friendly. Overall a great place we really enjoyed our week there, and would definitely go back and will be recommending to friends and family. Thank you to all the staff as they was all very helpful and friendly.

This review based on family of 4 - 1 week 12-19 August 2025. A lovely relaxing holiday at the 3HB Golden beach hotel. Fair to say the location is 10/10 , literally 1-2 minute walk from a stunning beach and 5 minutes from the famous strip and 10 minutes from the family strip ( various restaurants/ family friendly bars) . Importantly the location was also 2 minutes from a small well stocked supermarket and a bakery and cafe , a must for self catering! The reception ( and all staff) were excellent, we arrived 11.30am and weren’t expecting our room to be ready ( check in 4pm) but after a brief wait ( 20 minutes) we were given keys , safe keys ( free) to our apartment. A lovely welcome bag with water bottles was a nice touch , cold filtered water available from reception 24hrs. Our apartment was exactly as advertised when booking. Spacious , clean and had a kitchenette. The air con was amazing! Cleaned daily and bathroom had toiletries provided. Lovely balcony with clothes dryer for swimming stuff ! Kids sofa bed was great and very comfy , bedroom was good size , beds slightly hard and lacked some storage. Overall very happy though . Swimming pool, it’s on the small side but this we were well aware of when we booked. Kids still enjoyed it and it was busy all day ! Lifeguard 9-7 …. He’s very strict. Sun beds , max 35 sun beds and by 11am normally all taken . Fine for us as we wanted shade ! Was very hot ! Pool bar - lovely and reasonably priced . Great staff , food 11:30-3pm . Quite a limited food selection but understandable as limited space behind bar . Two nights during the week live music (4-7pm) were provided by bar which was lovely . Day trips - Slide and splash , great day out for family ! Arrive early (9:30am) opens for 10 and you get to do all the main slides multiple times with no or little cues. £118 euro for family of 4 . Tip take your own lunch and bottles of water and a parasol! Boat trip from marina to see dolphins and Bengali caves . Really good , 2.5 hrs saw dolphins and caves and also offers a brief stop for swim in sea. Expensive but a holiday treat . ( £140 euros). Hotel is 3.7 miles from the old town , walkable if needed , however in the heat we decided to get taxis ! Use uber over local taxis … much cheaper! Overall this hotel gave everything we expected and wanted when we booked , the negative reviews IMO centre around the size of the pool etc …. Do your research before you book ! My big worries shen we booked were how close we were to the strip …. No issues or noise at all . We felt this was value for money and it was one of the cheapest options in the Algarve ( self catering in August) . Overall happy kids = happy parents and that’s exactly what we had . This holiday offered something for all of us and that’s not easy with a parents both 41 and kids 14+12 . Would recommend to anyone with family’s or couples . Lovely holiday

To be honest I don't think this was worth the money. The rooms are a bit on the small side and so is the balcony, for what you pay, our room was a sea view room but the view was not as good as i would have liked because our room was too low down. We had ants a few times, but this was delt with quickly. The pool area is too small and it suffers from the usual sunbed issues. An oven in the kitchen area would have been nice. On the plus side, the location is good, the place and rooms are clean, the atmosphere was good and the poolside bar was great and staff were polite and helpful. Overall the place was good but just not good enough for what we paid.

Zeer schone en ruime kamers. Sfeer is heel goed. Personeel is heel erg vriendelijk. Locatie was ook top. Op het complex zijn er maar een paar parkeerplekken aanwezig, maar omdat wij met een gezin van 3 kinderen kwamen was er voor ons een plek gereserveerd (€15,- per dag).

Amazing place , first arrived and the staff gave us water bottles, gift bag and towels, we had an amazing room which was away from everyone else. (Room 35) Big room , big beds and massive balcony , Pool is big and is 1,40 meters deepest. There is a jacuzzi. 1 minute walk to the beach and cafes and bakery’s close. Would recommend

I would give them 2.5 out 5 if it was an option here!! This was very much a holiday of two-halves and the Golden Beach does have a good number of things going for it; The location is decent - close to lots of bars on the edge of the strip, but far enough away that noise isn't a major problem. The strip is pretty chaotic once the night gets going if you're up there after midnight, so something to consider if you have a younger family. There are a couple of shops right on the doorstep for essentials, and Aldi around a 15 min walk away. The old town is about 1.5 miles away, so just about walkable if you're feeling energetic (the hotel is on a pretty steep hill, but it's quite short) - but only 5 Euro-ish in an Uber/Bolt. The apartments are spacious and cleaned every day, although we did have reoccurring issues with ants through the duration of our stay. Excellent air-con in every room of the apartment. The welcome pack with bag, milk, biscuits and reusable water bottles is a very nice touch. The receptionist (Gina) who checked us in on the first day was superb - a real asset to the hotel! The pool bar staff are great and the prices more than reasonable, even before happy hour! Unfortunately I think the negatives would out-weigh the positives; Sun-loungers - nowhere near enough for the amount of guests during peak season. As our holiday progressed it seemed to be earlier and earlier every day that people were out with their towels to reserve loungers. This is not policed by the hotel at all, despite being a policy they publicise with signage all around the pool - seemingly it's the responsibility of the life guard to monitor, but he spends 95% of his day on his phone.  As a family of 5, one of the main reasons we booked this place was due to reviews saying there were plenty of sun beds - this is absolutely not the case (there's somewhere between 30 and 40 IN TOTAL) and adds an extra stress to what is meant to be a relaxing break. We even had the ridiculous situation of having our towels removed at one point while there were countless other beds with towels reserving sun beds for absent guests while we had only been away from the pool area for half an hour to make breakfast - all very strange and left a nasty taste in the mouth. Very much felt like we'd been singled out for reasons unknown, despite not doing anything different to 95% of the other bed occupants by the pool. There were multiple groups who reserved sun-loungers very early in the morning and frequently didn't claim them until the afternoon. IMO this is really bad form, but if the hotel does nothing about it they're basically giving people no other option if they want to spend time around the pool.  As mentioned above, we had ants in the room thorough the holiday and flagged this repeatedly to reception. To their credit, they did at least attempt to resolve it coming down to spray the affected areas, but unfortunately the ants always returned. Fully acknowledged that as Portugal is a hot country (particularly in July), ants will be hard to stop! But we've been in Albufeira several times before and never had the same problem. The wardrobes in the bedrooms left our clothes with a bad smell and feeling damp. Beds are rock-hard. Not unusual for holiday apartment beds, but these felt especially uncomfortable compared to similar level of hotels we'd stayed at before. Overall, it's not a bad hotel - several good points, but think that overall the negatives left more of an impression on our holiday when comparing the Golden Beach to similar places we've stayed at previously in the Albufeira area, meaning that it's not somewhere we'd return to.

Location is just outside Albufeira, so it's relatively quiet but parking in the street can be challenging as there are many apartment buildings around. The 1-room apartment we got was nice and spacious, no complains. Prices at the pool bar are reasonable with a happy hour from 4-6pm

All sunbeds are reserved starting at 7.30-8.00 am by guests who clearly can't be bothered by the hotel rules. The hotel personnel should take this seriously and remove towels, books, etc from people who leave their stuff and go somewhere else for hours. The apartment did not have a dishwasher, otherwise the kitchen was nicely equipped Room service came at inconvenient hours (3-4pm), they should do the cleaning in the morning or lunch time at the latest.

The place is lovely and clean and the staff are friendly.. The pool is tiny and don't know about the bar as there's never anywhere to sit as there's not enough space for the amount of rooms and people they have staying there. Apparently you're not allowed to put towels on the sunbeds to reserve them but if you don't get down before 8am you've no chance because people come down and put towels on them and dissappear for hours ,so you'll need an extra £10 per person for sunbed hire on the beach ,so bring plenty of extra money or just find a bigger hotel .
