Sunrise Cottage

Wir haben vor Ort die Möglichkeit bekommen in eine privates Zimmer mit eigenem Pool direkt am Meer umzuziehen. Die Lage war top, viele Restaurants um die Ecke, sehr freundliches Personal und eine gute Lage um den Sonnenuntergang von der eigenen Terrasse zu beobachten.

Colazione su ordinazione, molto buona. La stanza dava proprio sul mare, quindi sentivamo le onde del mare..super bello!! Terrazzino comodo, bagno con doccia vista mare, altrettanto bello. l'hotel è proprio sul mare. Sarebbe comodo mettere un pontile per arrivare alla barriera corallina. il pomeriggio la marea non permette l'accesso al mare.

L'entrata dell'hotel è in costruzione..ma spero la sistemino.

sono stato nelle stanze con piscina privata, che dalle foto sembrava piccola ma in realtà si stava benissimo, pezzo di mare privato con acceso diretto, spettacolare, lo staff un 100, tramite loro ho noleggiato una moto, eppure mi hanno organizzato il taxi per andare al porto, consigliatissimo.

da migliorare? per il rapporto prezzo qualità, direi nulla, ma si da sapere che si prendete la stanza con piscina privata si trova distante la struttura principale e se non noleggiate il motorino, per la collazione dovete andare a piede circa 400mt.

Incredible location. I was fortunate to stay in a stand alone cottage down the road from the main accommodation. I had the waves lapping up against the property morning and night. My own lap pool, complete privacy and an incredible view of Mount Agung. Five star. I will be bringing friends back soon.

Absolutely,the best location possible. During high tide, you can go snorkeling above the coral reef from the terrace!

We had the corner room #204 and the view was perfect! Having a perfect sea-view from the property was the real plus!! Watched the sunrise and sunset - had very good breakfasts, comfy room, very nice swimming pool and the staff was super helpful. Great value for the money as well.

Beautiful property with sunset and sunrise views everyday. Room was very comfortable. Location was good with many restaurants/cafes around. The main port is about 15min drive. Host was very accommodating even packing our breakfast to go when we had an early morning itinerary.

I stayed here on returning to Nusa Penida as it’s right in front of the most gorgeous reef - SD point. The rooms have a gorgeous view over the water and swimming pool. The rooms are more than adequate - but do not expect western standards in Indonesia, the bathrooms could do with updating and electricity and water sometimes is unavailable for 20 minutes at a time. It’s all part of the experience! The staff are always on hand to assist with anything you need and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Be sure to take a snorkel - the water is very shallow at the shoreline but you can carefully float over the coral to reach deeper water (head for the buoy in front of the property) and it is really magical. The coral is very healthy with an abundance of fish and turtles living on the reef. There are good restaurants right next door and a selection of spas.

The steps to the sea/water are very slippery, unsafe, and dangerous. Sometimes ants fell from the roof on to the bed. The lighting in the bathroom was poor.

This is a gem of a place to stay on Nusa Penida. The hotel sits right over the sea so you can watch the turquoise water and waves crashing from the pool, restaurant area and deck. You can hear the ocean at night from the room. The hotel is decorated beautifully in Balinese style. Beds are comfy and AC is effective. Nicely adorned bathrooms. The restaurant has good breakfasts. There are other great restaurants in walking distance. There are dive and snorkel operations easy walking distance from the hotel you can use to venture out to other areas of Nusa Penida. You can also opt to climb down from the deck to the shore and swim out to snorkel (go down and to the right of the hotel to the sandy area to enter easier). Alit was a great host for us- very friendly and helpful in many ways!

It’s hard to find anything wrong with it. My only small suggestion is to try to occasionally scrape the slick algae off the stairs going down to the sea. There is a railing to hold, but the stairs are very slippery when wet making it a bit sketchy going down if the surf is splashing the area.

La ubicación en frente del mar (donde hay corales). La habitación y el baño son muy buenas, con un balcón propio con vista al mar. Nos permitieron hacer el check in antes y quedarnos en las instalaciones posterior al check out.

Para mejorar en gran medida el desayuno.

Le bruit… nous avions la chambre 201 et les scooters, coqs, chiens, etc nous ont tenu réveillées toutes les nuits

Leuke locatie, direct aan de zee. Bij eb kan je niet echt zwemmen in de zee maar bij vloed lekker verkoelend. Mooi blauw water. Het zwembad is ook dikke prima met voldoende ligbedjes, veelal zijn de mensen overdag toch op pad. Ontbijt was erg lekker met veel keuze. Naast het verblijf zit een lekker koffie tentje en daarnaast restaurant Secret Penida, aanrader!!

Slaapgedeelte van ons verblijf (kamer 202) was prima maar de badkamer is echt aan vervanging toe. Spiegel enorm aangetast en de douche zit half los met een klein miezer straaltje. Je hoort het verkeer langsrijden, best gehorig.

Hotel con encanto súper bien ubicado en primerísima línea y con la piscina frente a la habitación y el mar.

Desayuno que incluye muy justo. El baño muy deteriorado comparado con el resto del hotel.

Las instalaciones estaban viejas, sucias y poco cuidadas. El restaurante era anecdótico.

The place is nice, has a nice pool. Bedroom was not bad and it was cleaned. Breakfast was good.

Booking and the website say that it has a private beach, BUT WATCH OUT THERE IS NO BEACH. no access to the sea as well. We specifically booked it to have a coiole of days on a private beach, so very disappointed. Only access to the sea is a stair with seaweed which is impossible to use. I seriously injured myself when i rried. when i asked the manager about that he told me he is aware of it and tha the ex marketing guy wrote false descriptions online and they are not able to remove them (??). Although the manager was very polite and really trying to help us, this was not enough. We asked if there were other accesses to the beach and sea and he said no, but the last day we found out that there was, literally 3 meters from the hotel through a bar!!! And 300 m away there was a beach!!!!! He sent us to crystal bay, which was overcrowded, dirty and he booked an overpriced taxi (40euros for 40 min drive back and forth, which is a lot for nusa penida). The bar was not good, juices were full of water. The remaining staff did not speak english and was not useful. They messed up our reservation though booking: i.e. the day before we found out they did not have our room because our booking reservation did not reach their system. We had to stay somewhere else for one night and then go there the remaining 2 nights. The manager managed well this inconvenience, offering us a better room for the stay but at the same price. However rooms are average and small. A bit overpriced for that.

Breakfast was good with great selections. Bali coffee was nice and hot. Customer service was excellent from all staff especially Kadek and Alit.

Bathroom need upgrade. A little dated and poor ventilation. Some hooks to hang clothes in the bathroom for convenience. Extra hangers should be provided upon request.

Ocean front, clean and comfortable, staff and service were fabulous. Breakfast was excellent. Close to numerous restaurants that served amazing food. Sunrise and sunsets. The full package!

Amazing location right on the waterfront. On premise restaurant plus bakery and lounge bar right next door. Walking distance to indomart for supplies if needed. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Everything was great! The view is spectacular, the pool is really nice, the rooms are spotless, comfortable, and reasonably well appointed. The restaurant food was excellent and I really enjoyed the provided breakfasts. The best was the level of service provided by Alit and his team. They are available for long hours of the day and they are super helpful and friendly.

I thought everything was great. Maybe nicer soap and shampoo in the bathroom. I was happy with everything else.

The location was amazing. The sea was literally a few meters away. It was very relaxing to sleep for the sounds of waves. The staff was very nice and the hotel looked very charming. 😊 Great value for money.

Nothing. The hotel pictures must be a decade old since the property is not in the shape pictured in the images. It was dirty, with dangerously broken rusted metal handrails, a treacherously slippery outdoor stair, a hole in the floor in one of our rooms, dirty and mould everywhere. Worse -- the owner is dishonest. He charges before you see the property and its issues then won't refund the money.

Nothing. Beware! This is a scam. The property advertises as four star but it is barely 1 star.

BEWARE! The property is a scam. There was mould in two of our rooms and all over the outside spaces, there was a hole in the floor in one bedroom, there was garbage at the front door and dirty linens thrown on the ground near the pool. The outdoor stairs were treacherously slippery. My husband slipped twice. The steel handrails are so rusty that they have separated from their supports making using them perilous. The place was falsely advertised as 4 star when it is barely 1 star! The owner takes your money before you see the hotel and its rooms then refuses to refund it -- another sign of the scam. The poor manager told us that he has repeatedly requested repairs and improvements, but to no avail. The furniture is old, cheap laminate that was falling apart. The photos make it look like there is a beach with sand in front, but there is only a seawall! Four star properties should be pristine, well designed, and well functioning. This is not.

The two best features of this sweet place are the staff and the location. A delicious breakfast is served quickly on the little deck overlooking the ocean with views of the mainland. The pool was lovely. Access to the beach out the front may be a challenge for some, but we didn't find it difficult.

Some might have issues with the couple of water leaks that pool on the floor during heavy rain. However, this didn't hinder our stay whatsoever.

Sunrises cottages are beautiful. They are perfect for someone who lives the sea but hates getting sandy. It was incredibly peaceful but do bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as the sea crashing against the wall can be very loud! The staff are all lovely and the ladies who made the breakfast always did an amazing job. There are plenty of restaurants/bars that you can walk to and plenty of tour guides/drivers that can take you to do anything. The reception staff were very helpful at organising our requests. Definitely use the spa/massage service that they offer, someone comes and collects you and takes you to their spa that overlooks the sea. I stayed here twice in one holiday, firstly with a friend and then came back on my own as I loved it so much. Was the perfect quiet retreat after a busy few days in ubud and I felt perfectly safe and welcome!

There isn’t much not to like about this hotel. I forgot to choose the option for breakfast to be included but this didn’t matter as breakfast and a drink is only £5 which got added to my overall bill.

Sea view and you’re able to swim in the sea directly in front of the property (although be careful on the steps as they’re slippery)! Great breakfast (had the mango juice and smoothie bowl every day they were so good). Really lovely helpful staff, and in a great location with loads of restaurants (highly recommend Secret Penida right next door, went there multiple times)

Soundproofing is pretty bad so make sure to bring earplugs

Our family's stay at Sunrise Cottages was nothing short of magical. The direct beach access was breathtaking, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall ambiance was incredibly peaceful. What truly set Sunrise Cottages apart was the exceptional staff. Their kindness and dedication went above and beyond. When we accidentally left some belongings behind, they went out of their way to deliver them to the harbor, ensuring we didn't miss a thing. We also forgot our Swiss adapter and first tried to buy one on Gili Islands but it it was impossible. The staff of Sunrise cottages arranged it as well and sent our lost Swiss adapter with one of their guests who also went to Gili. The food was delicious, adding to the overall wonderful experience. We can't thank the Sunrise Cottages team enough for making our stay so memorable. We highly recommend this idyllic retreat to anyone seeking a serene and unforgettable getaway.

The included breakfast is a bit of a joke. Even something as basic as expresso wasn't included and you'd have to pay an extra fee for it (the coffee option included was a cheap, very bad instant coffee). Most places will offer juice + hot drink but here it's one or the other. Overall the included breakfast felt like they were being tight with money, which leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you pay 900k Rp a night. Also the advertised private beach isn't really a beach, it's basically a dangerous stair going into the sea. It's still nice to be able to jump into the sea right from your hotel. But the stair needs fixing before someone slips and gets hurt.

The facility is on great location. There are very good restaurants near. The staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast was perfect for me, you have many choices for everyone. Even the coffee and juice were delicious. You have outside pool and also you can go swim in the sea. The view is amazing.

The breakfast! The egg Benedict they cook is top notch, as good as any London restaurant. The view is great and you can see the sunrise, during sunset, Mt Agung is in view when whether is good.

There could be insects within the room and the furnishings are quite old, but everything is clean so it’s not a big issue

We tried several breakfast options and we didn't really like it.

Perfect location right on the beach front and nice pool, with good breakfast. Great restaurant next door and lots of others nd cafes you can walk to nearby. Stayed for our anniversary and the team out a nice tribute in our room in bamboo leaves. Sunbed loungers were comfy, got Netflix on the TV and had a lovely bath with view of the ocean. For the money paid it was really good value, we were only there one nigh, as was a last minute stay due to our original villa being poor but had we known about this one would have gone straight here from the port and stayed both nights here.

Other reviews are correct walls are thin and you can hear the waves all night but I found it a nice noise to fall to sleep to, so I rather enjoyed it.
