Every was perfect and the staff were so welcoming. Very easy checkin and very clean bedrooms.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026The Black Cat was one of the cheapest options in Salthill on the night we stayed but it was excellent, right from the friendly welcome from the staff in the restaurant below where we checked in. The location is brilliant, right in the heart of Salthill and there is free parking within two minutes walk. The room was very clean and nicely furnished with everything we needed and there were some nice extra touches with large bottles of water and a large selection of teas and coffee. We would certainly stay again.

Era muy ruidoso, nuestra habitación daba a la terraza de la cocina del restaurante. Al llegar había tapones en la mesilla y lo entendimos al instante, el ventilador de la cocina estaba en marcha todo el día, hasta vibra un poco el cuarto. Lo apagan a las 23.00 pero luego empiezan con movimientos de basuras de botellas y demás. El olor tampoco era muy agradable…..

It was pretty noisy - taxi rank, chippy and pubs outside but we should have done our homework and guessed it could be lively. Noise was definitely not too bad with window shut but we needed to have it open for the room temperature.

I couldn’t get a table for dinner as it was super busy and they wouldn’t allow me to order take away and bring to room as they were too busy so after driving 6.5 hrs I had to go back out and get somewhere for food. I think there should be a little bending for people staying at the hotel.

The layout of the room was odd, the shower in the cupboard. Also was a heatwave so had the windows opened which there were building works\ kitchen smells banging going on underneath which i know is life but was a bit hot and frustrating. Just don't think its worth the high price point!

Das Fenster konnte geöffnet werden, sodass das Zimmer nie zu warm wurde. Auf dem Korridor gab es die Möglichkeit Tee/Kaffee zuzubereiten. Es stand auch ein Korb mit Äpfeln bereit. Zur Info: die Zimmer liegen über dem noblen Tapas Restaurant 'Black Cat' In die Stadt ist man in 20min gelaufen, zum Galway Bay in nur 5min
Es war kein Problem, aber das Treppenhaus zu den Zimmern ist recht eng und steil

It’s such an interesting place with a great buzz, welcoming staff with the added advantage of great food.

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026La propreté dans la chambre. L’emplacement est idéal proche de la mer et une supérette super juste en face de la rue, et à 20 min à pied du centre ville. Le café dispo dans le couloir avec les pommes. Carafe d’eau renouvelée.
Nous sommes arrivés avec 10 minutes d’avance et ils nous ont demandés de partir et de revenir 10 minutes après en prétextant que la chambre n’était pas du tout prête au lieu que l’on puisse patienter au sein de l’établissement. Les murs sont fins, vous pouvez entendre tout ce qui se passe à l’extérieur de la chambre. Le lit est très petit pour 2 personnes et la chaleur dans les chambres.

The rooms offer modern comforts while retaining the traditional character . Fresh white interior soothing and restful. Complimentary water. Easy checkin and self checkout is perfect for the Business Guest leaving early. Convenient location in the centre of Salthill. Public parking on street or nearby public car park.
