Reviewed Jul 13, 2026The location was in a quiet area of the town, but still conveniently located to shops and activities. The house was well equipped with basics and the sun coming in in the afternoon was great. The rooms were nice and spacious. The size of the property worked well for the family.
The hot water in the one shower didn't work so well, but we all used the other shower which was great. The cold tap in the main bathroom didn't open, which made brushing teeth a bit trick with only hot water available. This didn't detract from the overall very pleasant experience.

Reviewed Jan 7, 2026We had a wonderful 2 day stay, everything you needed was provided. Our host was exceptional carrying as well as the cleaning lady, Magrieta. We will be back soon.
The space in the house, the size of the bedrooms and the safe parking. Having garages for your cars is exceptional.

Reviewed Dec 15, 2025The home was well played out and warm. The host made sure we were comfortable and made sure we got to experience Sutherland. We could call on her anytime we needed assistance and she ensured we got the assistance we needed. The home had a relaxing feel and I just wished I could spend a longer time to appreciate the treasures in the home.
There was nothing we found that we didn't enjoy.

Dawn was an exceptional host and made sure that every request was attended to She checked up on us regularly making sure we where comfortable. She is a wonderful, efficient and friendly host. I will recommend this home to anyone who wants to visit Sutherland.

Reviewed Dec 22, 2024The place is massive, and has loads of character. It really feels like you're staying at a local's home. Loads of the decor was genuine vintage, which gave it real character. Location is also pretty good - close enough to the interesting things in town.
The oven doesn't work (though an airfryer was provided), and the knives were blunt, which for the price I would have expected to have been resolved.

Reviewed Oct 6, 2024The house is very big. All the beds have electric blankets, which is nice. The house is located on the nicer side of town. There was LOTS of Reading material. The internet was quite fast, I got 50mbps on a speedtest. The beds and bedding were also very comfortable.
The one bedroom was locked. My assumption is that they lock rooms based on the number of Guests staying there. Cause the house was listed as having 5 rooms but only 4 were available. This wasn't a problem for us. But it would have been a problem if we were 5 colleagues or unrelated people each wanting our own room. Make sure you check this with the host before you book.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2024It is a self-catering unit (house) so we did our own thing but had absolutely everything to our disposal to have great meals during our short stay. Dawn was a great communicator who went to a lot of trouble to ensure that we get in; that we know what to expect and to make us feel like we are basically sleeping over at our favourite aunt's house while she's out for a couple of days! Huge house made it possible for us to even have our family
