Greeting at reception, Musty smell in the bedroom
Everything.
Nothing
A little dated but clean and comfortable room. Staff we friendly and attentive. Evening meal was delicious and reasonably priced.
The staff, the location, the rooms, the entire stop. This is our go to hotel when stopping in Lockerbie.
There was nothing we didn’t like.
Great location
The decor suited the place beautifully

Excellent hotel evening meal was really nice room was comfy Staff so friendly
Friendly staff
Easy access from the motorway
Friendly lady on reception and nice gentlemen that dealt with breakfast. Lovely location too
The bedroom was big. The barman was the only friendly staff member.
Unfriendly and unsmiling staff; ( apart from the barman) very unwelcoming reception. Strong smell of smoke in bedroom, very tired fittings in bathroom. Truly bad food. Breakfast buffet was appalling and unimaginative.
Breakfast was good but would have liked to see yogurt along with the fruit, parking plentiful and easy bedroom a good size.Evening meal excellent an enjoyable overnight stay.
Good location, lovely decor. Food was beautiful
Rooms felt a little dated and tired.
Beautiful old property with beautiful dining facilities. Really good parking facilities at the property

The food was pretty good. If you wanted to take your dog along then this is definitely a dog friendly place with several staying while we were there.. We didn't have ours with us on this occasion.
We were given a very small room in a separate building behind the main one. It was pretty poky and heavily worn in places, paint scratched off the bathroom door, bits of trim hanging off above the door. The shower door refused to close properly and the sealant had plenty of black bits on it. "Bathroom" itself was absolutely tiny. Not even a little shelf to put your wash bag on. The toilet did flush but it was so weak that it took many attempts to achieve the required task. The kettle's PAT test label was a couple of years out of date and the hairdryer overheated and cut out within 30 seconds when my girlfriend tried drying her hair. I was then told that there were no spare hair dryers because people kept stealing them. The lady did manage to get us a working one from someone in another room though. If I'd paid £60 for the room I'd still have been annoyed but I paid over £140 for the night. Other places manage to provide a great room for that sort of fee and that was what I was expecting having read the reviews. We were on the ground floor and the only thing we could see out of the window was the back of the main building a few feet away. Had to keep the curtain closed as everyone who walks past can just look straight in. I suspect the good reviews come from those that aren't put in the building at the back.
clean and friendly.
all ok.
Friendly staff and good service for food and drinks, Rooms clean. Great breakfast and food choice of food for dinner.
A bit tired looking in the rooms maybe needing a paint as peeling off the woodwork.
Friendly family hotel. Lovely staff and very good supper. Secure bicycle storage
Location was great, staff very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable although a little tired. We would book it again.
Bathroom was small and a bit tired.
Staff were lovely, very welcoming and helpful. Hotel was perfect, lovely indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy. Rooms well equipped and very comfortable.
Very Good
Nothing - we liked everything
Lovely welcome and perfect for our stopover
The restaurant was very good.
The television was a bit low to the ground and the bathroom was a little cramped
Easy to find location, ample parking and lovely restaurant.
Niets !
Friendly and helpful staff. If we needed anything, they were very obliging. Quiet location, just 15 minute walk to station. A quiet, relaxing hotel.
It involved some 'trial and error' in using the shower. A little note would help in this respect! Otherwise, problem-free!
Excellent B'fast and location.
All good thank you.
High standard of fittings and decor.
Dinner charge seemed to be rounded up to higher than menu price indicated.
Really friendly staff, hotel was very nice in appearance and in communal areas. Bed was comfortable and clean.
Room was fusty, small, cramped, paint peeling and in need of refurbishing.
Wie jedes Jahr einfach super
Staff very pleasant
Nothing to dislike
A very tasty Scottish full breakfast - delicious 😋 Staff; young and older were very friendly and welcoming.
The room was a little hot, so I should have asked for a fan - but this fact has no bearing on the ownership oremployees. It certainly a place I shall use again.
Food really good Large room with comfortable bed and a decent shower Friendly staff

There wasn't anything, it was all good
Breakfast was very good. The stroganoff at dinner was the best I have ever had - all fillet steak.
Evening meal very tasty & well cooked . Breakfast was also good. Our room was an annex room , ideal for our dogs who like early morning walks. Bed was comfy , plenty of tea & coffee & yummy biscuits 😋
Friendly family run hotel
Great staff. Friendly and helpfull. Fantastic food in restaurant. Great breakfast. Very convenient location for travelling either north or south.
Room was very nicely presented but had some obvious maintenance issues (i.e. very loose toilet seat.)
Good location, easy to find, lovely clean spacious rooms, wifi strength good. Staff very good excellent with invoicing and any requirements needed.
Food was fresh however the menu felt dated and very limited in size.
Good Location Food in restaurant was delicious Clean & spacious room
Absolutely nothing
Comfortable and clean, great location.
Lovely spacious room with comfortable seating. Direct access outside which was great for the dogs. Nice quiet location. Great for an overnight stop. Didn't get a chance to try the food but will definitely stay next time and have a meal. Room had everything we needed
Room smelt a bit musty and maybe had been closed off for a bit. It was warm enough to have the windows open but would have struggled in the winter - maybe need to air rooms if been closed for a bit
Lovely stay again but we think perhaps the rooms could be updated a little, our room had a few issues with things missing I.e. no towel rail , damp on the walls , but still would return xx
Good breakfast and very close to the motorway - very convenient.
Misrepresentation of tv channels on Booking.com
The location was so very convenient for a midpoint on our drive from S. wales to Ullapool, Scotland. It is right near the M, but feels like an old country retreat.
Quiet and peaceful.
Beautifully presented hotel and gardens. Great team, andFriendly personable service.
The place was clean and had a nice bathroom
I had an issue in my bathroom and the staff had to get another customer to deal with it.. The cleaner tried to get into my room at 8:30 without checking i was still in the room. 2 wines and a beef strogonoff £48 very expensive
Great location. Lovely old building, with amazing architectural detail. Loved Livingston & Stanley at the front stairs. Staff were wonderful & very helpful, especially at breakfast- despite my not eating all my serving of haggis lol

Super nettes Personal, unser Hund bekam jeden Tag ein frisches Würstchen, wir waren zum 3. Mal hier, immer wieder ein Highlight. Frühstück und Essen waren außergewöhnlich! Einfach Klasse. Danke an Küche und Personal!!
Most was ok
The small room was cramped and stuffy
It was perfect for what we needed

A quaint, clean budget friendly room in a quiet location. Big bathroom with a bath.
Small bedroom and hearing water pump switch on and off constantly.
There was eleven of us in our group, the staff were brilliant the food was great and drinks were at a good price. The location was good for our needs. We only had one issue which is listed below.
One of our group had to be moved to another hotel due to the shower tray not draining. Unfortunatly he had unpacked all his stuff so had to re pack for one evening. I asked (as I had organised and paid for the stay) if I could get a reduction in the cost due to one of our party having to re locate for one night, the owners said that as I booked through Booking.com they were not reponsible for cost discounts and I should contact Booking.com.
Beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff
Location fabulous for motorway links and exploring. Very hospitable team, clean, fabulous value for money. Highly recommend it.
Nothing to not like.. it’s great
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and dogs welcome. We did eat in the bar area and this was great as we were away from the noise of other people. The breakfast was a great mix of fruit, yoghurt, cereal. Hot breakfast choices were great quality and cooked perfectly. Great value and perfect stop over on the way down from fort william to the south. We were in a downstairs room and so easy access to the outside for the dogs. Please make sure if you have a dog you book in line with agreee rooms. We initially booked a superior room and changed to double on reading dogs were not allowed in superior. Our rooms were beautiful and this is a non issue but worth noting and not missing this like i did at first!
Lovely welcome, friendly staff good food and great location

Location and friendliest of staff
Nothing
Clean, warm, staff were excellent and very helpful
No towel rail in bathroom, some black which looked like mould on bricks on bathroom wall
comfortable. clean. pleasant.
My fillet stake was way overcooked but management denied this. The manager said he was a butcher and he of all people should know what medium rare should be. They would not reduce my £73.00 dinner bill. I'm not going back !!
Beautiful property The owner saw to every need
Clean comfortable and beautiful garden
The room was a good size, very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely 😋
Nothing put me off the hotel. Looking hard, I would say it was a 15 min walk to the shops & amenities 🤷
Everything, a proper old school hotel. Staff were fantastic, best sirlion steaks I've had in a long time and felt so warm and cosy
Only 1 thing really, street lights peeping through the curtain, needs bigger curtains imo
.
.
Comfy bed, room a good size, breakfast was lovely and the morning staff were delightful. Puppy loved the grounds.
Mould in the bathroom and no bins on the grounds or nearby when its a dog friendly hotel
Location is the key- roughly halfway between Surrey and Inverness. I have stayed several times before. The welcome is always friendly - and they serve meals in a Sunday evening when other local restaurants close.
Rooms are adequate; shower is basic
It’s a lovely, family run hotel on the outskirts of Lockerbie, My room was very comfortable and the service excellent.
Welcoming staff. Comfortable room & bed. Excellent dinner & breakfast. Great value for money
Need a toilet brush & towel rail in the bathroom.
Property with character, excellent food and staff. Ideal location for a stopover en route further north Would stay again
A little dated in places. Room needed a refresh
Welcoming staff and nothing was too much trouble. Food very good
Nothing really
Another great visit. See you again

Great location just a short drive from the motorway. Very quiet location. Excellent warm and freindly welcome. Very clean and comfortable room. Slept very well indeed!
Lovely hotel, perfectly positioned for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. Great room, comfortable and spacious. Good food Great staff and service

how was the reviews for the breakfast good, the taste was ok, but it was so little and weird. the personell was not present. overall ranking: disappointed for a lot of money.
This hotel is in a perfect spot just off the motorway in lovely countryside. The staff are excellent. We had only booked an hour before and asked for dinner, despite being fully booked with a large celebration group they fitted us in. The service was excellent, the food was superb and we would never have known they were under pressure. It really shows that the quality of this family run hotel. We have stayed here before and will again.

The service and dinner was great

Great location, friendly staff
Breakfast was good. I paid for a single room but was given a double. Staff were very pleasant.
Breakfast was on the expensive side. The attic room I stayed in had a velux window which had a blind but it did not really block the light.
Very Attentive Staff (All of them).
Old style with loads of history inside
Couldn’t say there is anything I dislike there
A clean and spacious room, helpful staff, parking on site, delicious evening meal and breakfast
Friendly staff good amenities
Everything, the food, comfort, service and facilities were 2nd to none.
I didn't find anything wrong over the 5 days I stayed.
Excellent in all aspects. Suited our requirements exactly.
Nothing.
Excellent meals
We stayed a night here on the way to Fort William. The hotel was comfortable and friendly and the staff welcomed us and our dog. We enjoyed the meals and it was convenient that there was a bar. There is a lovely nature reserve a 10 minute walk away.
overall the hotel was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful ,the breakfast was good and served with a smile. location was excellent for my needs set in nice gardens but still close to the town
All ok for my needs
Very good and accommodating
Nothing
Need raise their standard of facilities. Food quality does not reflect the prices being charged.
A lovely hotel within 10 mins walk to Lockerbie town centre just what we needed , easy to locate and pet friendly. Good few pubs in the town that also cater. The staff were very friendly and accomadating, just a nice hotel that is well run and a fair price.
Nothing to report.
What a gem
Nothing not to like
Rude, nasty aggressive staff so we left
