Everything! The hosts put out everything you could need (spices, oil etc) and it felt very homey. Very clean.

10/10 - Absolutely perfect stay! The mountain view from the room is breathtaking, exactly like the photos. Room was spotless, bed super comfortable, and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great location, peaceful and quiet. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Bathroom was modern and spotless. Lovely kitchenette area. Stunning view from our upstairs verandah. Beautiful pool and garden to walk in. Our hostess was very welcoming and explained all the facilities. Safe off-street parking.

Two rather steep sets of stairs to get to our room, which is not easy when carrying all one’s bags and cases. The walls are thin and we could hear the couple talking next door. Luckily they weren’t too noisy. The guest house is kind-of on the outskirts of the central part of town, and we could hear people walking past on their way to work in the morning and talking quite loudly. I thought the price was also quite high considering breakfast was not included.

Prachtig ingericht appartement met kleine keuken. Je mocht ook gebruik maken van een grote gezamenlijke keuken en braai (bbq). Verder schitterende tuin met veel vogels en uitzicht op de bergen. Omgeving is schitterend. Natuurreservaat de Hoop is echt een aanrader om walvissen te spotten.

Such a pity we stayed only for one night 😞

The host was so friendly and welcoming when we stayed at Mountain View with our dog for one night. Our room was beautiful, and well maintained, the bathroom was clean and spacious, and the view was spectacular. We made use of their braai facilities (they have the indoor and outdoor option), and the magic of Mountain View is that we didn’t have to buy spices or serviettes or steak knives or tongs, or any of the seemingly small things that make a braai convenient. They already had everything in a well kept and fully loaded living area we could use as our own, which made the entire experience feel like home. Mountain View Swellendam was the perfect place to start our road trip up north. I would recommend this stay to any of my friends or family.

Extremely friendly and welcoming host, exceeded all our expectations and the free fire wood and fire lighters was an added bonus. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to use the hot tub, the garden and bird life was an absolute pleasure.

I was greeted warmly by the staff and the room service was good. A problem with the wi-fi was fixed late on a Saturday afternoon which I appreciated. I stayed in a well-equipped self-catering unit on ground level. The room is spacious with its own balcony overlooking the garden and mountains in the background. The bed is comfortable and has a nice view of the mountains and the garden. The kitchenette has everything you need.

Unfortunately there was a bad drain smell in the bathroom of this unit which got worse at night when the doors and windows of the unit were closed. Even closing the bathroom door did not help much. Not pleasant at all...

The place was amazing and the attention to detail was exceptional, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen and lounge space was well set up. We also used the fireplace and wood fired hot tub which was great. Local places of interest were easy to visit.

We had a lovely stay at this meticulously neat Guest house..Definitely booking with them again when need arises.. The host gave us a very warm welcome too.. Views are to die for especially at night wow... They are the best..

Excellent communication and service from Vera, the host. Well equipped with everything you could need. Stunning view of the town and mountains. Beautiful gardens with lots of birds and comfortable bed. We stayed in the cottage which had a pretty, private garden and hot tub, which was fun!

This was our second visit, so no complaints. :)

They accepted our booking very last minute in the night while our other booking cancelled on us. Friendly people! Place was very clean and comfortable. Extra effort in place that was so thoughtful like chocolates, mints, earbuds, cotton buds etc. Beautiful property with little walk ways between houses. Highly recommend

It lies within walking distance of the town’s attractions & restaurants. Also our sheltered balcony gave us the great views we had hoped for and our room a cosy feel .

Some guests may find the stairs a bit tricky so should perhaps be mentioned when booking

Amazing facilities and extra unexpected supply of braai wood, firelighters etc. Excellent value for money with so many extras thrown in. The communal kitchen was very well equipped.

Tolle Lage, toller Ausblick

Da man direkt unter dem Strohdach wohnte, war es etwas hellhörig (Straßengeräusche). Nicht wirklich schlimm, sollte man nur wissen.

Het is een prachtige plek, een ontzettend leuke cottage en aan alles is gedacht om er een prettig verblijf van te maken.

Niets op aan te merken. Had achteraf graag langer dan 1 nacht willen blijven!

Tout. Propre. Bel emplacement. Cuisine bien équipée et tout le nécessaire pour se faire un café et un thé le matin. Jolie vue. Plein d oiseaux magnifiques. Jolie chambre bien décorée. Salle de bain avec une poire ce qui est rare en Afrique du Sud. Une terrasse sur laquelle on peut s installer dîner et petit- déjeuner face aux montagnes.

Le lit était un peu trop dur mais certains aiment.

Such a beautiful little cottage. So clean & comfortable. The Braai kitchen & swimming pool area was so amazing. Can’t say I’ve seen better! Sitting outside watching the bird life was a real treat also.

Probably the location because it felt like staying in the suburbs. However, very close to all the town’s facilities.

Toller Ausblick auf die Berge von dem Balkon aus, Pool und Gartenanlage weitläufig und sehr hübsch angelegt. Restaurants alle innerhalb 3 min mit dem Auto erreichbar. Unser Auto wurde vom Personal einfach so ungefragt gewaschen, das war wirklich überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend!

Es war die Beste Wohnung auf unserer Reise auf der Garden Route. Bis aufs letzte Detail eingerichtet. Frische Milch in einem Kännchen im Kühlschrank. Im hochmodernen Bad viele kleine Nettigkeiten. Wir hatten die Wohnung oben links, wenn man aufs Haus sieht. Unbeschreiblich, unfassbarer Blick auf Swellendams Natur mit den Langebergen im Hintergrund. Der Pool ist einsame Spitze, im wunderbaren Garten zum verweilen. Also diese Wohnung ist die beste Wohnung, seit ich hier bei Booking bin.

Well we expected a nice place based on previous reviews.... but this exceeded our expectations. We are guesthouse hosts as well and we could not improve on this.

Schitterende studio voorzien van alle gemakken: heerlijk bed, zeer mooie badkamer en mooi balkon. Op terrein klein, maar heerlijk zwembad. En maak vooral een lekkere koffie voor je zelf in de gedeelde keuken.

Eigenlijk niks. Misschien dat er geen olijfolie was in de gedeelde keuken. Maar gelukkig konden we die lenen van de zeer aardige host.

Sehr gemütliches Cottage mit tollem Ausblick auf die Berge. Der Hot Tub ist ein echtes Highlight unter dem Sternenhimmel.
