We had a truly wonderful stay here. The hosts/owners of the guest house seem to genuinely want their guests to have a positive experience in the area, which we did. The very comfortable room with a fantastically hot shower was topped off with great local recommendations (attractions, restaurants, etc.) and the next morning, we had a delicious breakfast before heading off - and thanks to the owner's recommendation, took a different route to the one we'd planned to and were able to enjoy some spectacular scenery. Highly recommended.

We hebben een heel fijn verblijf gehad. De eigenaresse was heel aardig en gaf ons veel handige tips. De kamer zelf was heel ruim met een terras en had een heel mooi uitzicht. Bed was heel comfortabel en ontbijt heerlijk.

Wir sind sehr herzlich empfangen worden und haben uns sofort wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Isabelle ist eine tolle Host, sehr herzlich und hat uns so viele Tips gegeben, ein tolles Restaurant empfohlen und uns mit einem super Frühstück verwöhnt. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Isabel was a very warm person and a lovely host, nothing was too much trouble for her and when she greeted me she was so lovely. The room perfect, the house lovely, the dining area spectacular mountain views and the breakfast absolutely lovely and you all must try her rasberry jam with a slight hint of (?) you must ask the host yourself its her USP (unique selling point). Das Frühstück war sehr gut und die Aussicht auf den Sonnenuntergang ist atemberaubend.Außerdem haben wir uns in Swellendam sehr sicher gefühlt.

Wir wurden von Isabel ausgesprochen herzlich und freundlich empfangen und haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die wunderschöne Terrasse mit ihrem atemberaubenden Bergpanorama – ein perfekter Ort zum Entspannen und Genießen. Auch Isabels herzliche und aufmerksame Art hat unseren Aufenthalt besonders gemacht. Obwohl wir erst spät angekommen sind, hat sie sich sofort darum gekümmert, dass wir noch einen Tisch in einem sehr guten Restaurant bekommen konnten. Das war für uns alles andere als selbstverständlich und hat uns sehr gefreut. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Isabel und Pierre sehr genossen und uns rundum willkommen gefühlt. Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft mit tollen Gastgebern – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können sie uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön gelegen, wir hatten einen wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang! Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig. Auch die allgemeinen Räume sind sehr schön und mit viel Liebe gestalten. Das Frühstück wurde frisch zubereitet und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir bekamen auch gute Tips fürs Abendessen (ausgezeichnet!!) und für unsere weitere Route! Vielen Dank!

The host was welcoming and provided us with lots of very helpful info about the area and options for our onward journey. So much so, that we detoured to see some whales and the joining of the oceans, along a much prettier route.

Wir haben und wie Zuhause gefühlt. Isabelle macht alles mit sehr viel Liebe, gibt viele gute Tipps. Alle sehr hilfsbereit, so war es z.B. gar kein Problem kurz das Auto zu waschen. Auch der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist ein Highlight.

Eigenlijk weinig of niets. Als ik iets moet zeggen is dat de tv''s heel klein waren om naar te kijken van op het bed.

The owners of the guesthouse were absolutely amazing and incredibly friendly. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. It was such a beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing place to stay. We truly enjoyed every moment.

Esa and her husband truly love life and have created a warm, loving home for their guests. The only regret is that our stay was too short—just one night. Everything was absolutely perfect.

Gorgeous property with comfortable beds, fantastic views and free parking. There is a wonderful rooftop deck for sunsets and a fireplace for evening relaxation. The breakfast area is open with views of the mountains. It's in a safe peaceful neighborhood and the hosts are super nice and hospitable. My room was spacious and had a lovely deck off the bedroom. It's a super value!

We were met by Isobel and Pierre and immediately made to feel welcome. The room is large with a lovely balcony overlooking the town and the mountains. The bed was comfortable with beautiful linen and a duvet. A booking was made at an outstanding restaurant, and we were treated to a delicious breakfast the next morning.

Very cheaply decorated Coffee well she could have left the 2 scoops of filter coffee and the tablespoon full of milk in 2 small pods…you must decide whether you drink coffee at night or the next morning you can’t do both….water pressure in bathroom very low and the water low temperature by the time you get out shower you are extremely cold…my partner showered just after me and the water was cold

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. However it might be worth noting there are stairs for anyone with mobility issues.

Tem apenas uma tomada de fácil acesso no quarto. A outra é no mesmo adaptador do frigobar. Acho que resolver com uma extensão ou adaptador com mais encaixes na tomada de fácil acesso.

Isabelle und ihr Mann waren super Gastgeberinnen und haben einen sehr herzlich empfangen. Die Unterkunft ist wunderbar durchdacht und man kann die Stadt zu Fuß prima erkunden.

Isabelle war eine sehr gute Gastgeberin, ha uns gute Tipps für Restaurants in der Umgebung gegeben. Tolle Lage mit Sonnenterrasse und Gartenmöbel und sichern Parkplatz. Sehr gutes Frühstück der Aufenthalt war leider zu kurz . Das Haus ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Isabelle und Pierre sind sehr nette Gastgeber und kümmern sich wirklich sehr um alle ihre Gäste. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden jederzeit und dann auch gerne länger dort verbringen.

Localização excelente, a proprietária (Isabel) é muito atenciosa e deu dicas locais. Seu esposo Pierre também é muito gentil. O quarto é excelente, muito limpo e com decoração de bom gosto. Café da manhã muito bom, preparado pela proprietária e sua auxiliar. Terraço e varanda com vistas espetaculares.

De prachtige locatie met uitzicht, de passie van de eigenaren en de netheid en creatieve (met een tintje artistieke) inrichting en aankleding van de accomodatie. Niets was te veel om je thuis te laten voelen. Een warm welkom als een warm bad werd ons gegeven!

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, hervorragendes Frühstück

Sehr liebevolle, zuvorkommende Gastgeberin - Isabell war eine super nette und stets hilfsbereite Ansprechpartnerin während unseres Aufenthalts. So hatte sie Z.B. immer gute Empfehlungen und war immer sehr auf das Wohl ihrer Gäste bedacht. Man merkt ihr sofort an, dass sie eine Gastgeberin mit Herz und Seele ist.

Leider können wir keine Beurteilung abgeben. Bei unserer Abreise gestern standen wir vor verschlossener Tür. Die unter Booking angegebene Telefonnummer war nur per Mailbox erreichbar. Gott sei Dank stand an der Eingangstür noch eine andere Telefonnummer. Hier ging dann die Besitzerin selber dran. Es war ihr sehr peinlich, aber sie hätten unsere Buchung vom August 2025 über booking storniert. Wir haben aber keine Stornierung erhalten und auch das Geld für die Übernachtung wurde am 22. April von Booking abgebucht. Die Besitzerin hat aber versprochen dies zu überprüfen und ggf. zurück zu überweisen. Sie hat uns auch die Adresse einer anderen netten Unterkunft in Swellendam genannt. Wo bzw. bei wem jetzt der Fehler liegt, können wir aktuell noch nicht nachvollziehen.

Vom Tor aus sah das Haus wirklich sehr nett und sauber aus.

The location was great and within walking distance to restaurants. The accommodation is in a quiet area which was really nice. The hosts were friendly and helped with restaurant arrangements. They also accomodated our breakfast requests.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in dieser Unterkunft. Ein sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus, mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns bis zur letzten Minute sehr willkommen gefühlt. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Das Herz dieser Unterkunft sind die Gastgeber selbst. Sie sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Tipps für Restaurants und Freizeitgestaltung waren perfekt. Vielen lieben Dank an die Gastgeber!

Umgebung extrem laut mit nicht aufzuhörendem Hundegebell. Auf der Straße wurde nachts Autorennen gefahren. Keine Schallisolierung des Zimmers. Tag und Nacht extrem laut

20 on Somerset ist eine wunderschöne kleine Unterkunft in Swellendam. Die Zimmer sind liebevoll und luxeriös ausgestattet und die Terrassen laden ein zum Chillen bei Sunsets. Leider waren wir nur eine Nacht dort auf Durchreise und das Wetter war leider auch nicht gut. Aber wir konnten uns vorstellen, wie schön es hätte sein können, wenn die Sonne sich gezeigt hätte. Die Gastgeber leben auf dem Gelände oberhalb und kümmern sich um alles. Der Ort Swellendam lohnt sich durchaus, es gibt viele Kleinode - Häuser, Restaurants - und wir empfehlen in jedem Fall einen Besuch bei Olivia - man kann deren Ausstattungsartikel in 20 on Somerset besichtigen und dann dort selbst einkaufen. Merci und Grace hat den besten Kuchen vor Ort...

ch hatte einen rundum großartigen Aufenthalt in diesem Guesthouse. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das fantastische Frühstück – frisch, abwechslungsreich und mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Man startet wirklich perfekt in den Tag. Ein absolutes Highlight ist die Gastgeberin Isabell, die unglaublich hilfsbereit, herzlich und aufmerksam ist. Sie kümmert sich mit viel Engagement um ihre Gäste und steht jederzeit mit Tipps und Unterstützung zur Seite. Die Atmosphäre im Guesthouse ist entspannt und einladend, sodass man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und kann diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Pierre and Isabel were amazing hosts! We stayed in a beautiful, comfortable room in a good location. Pierre was kind enough to drop us to the restaurant for dinner and Isabel was incredibly helpful with recommendations and washing clothes. Breakfast the next morning was delicious too! Vanop het terras van de kamer heb je een prachtig uitzicht over de bergen. Isabel en Piere zijn vooral heel warme mensen. Ze hebben ons een prachtige route aanbevolen langs de mooiste stops in de regio. Echt een topverblijf!

Der Ort Swellendam und die Unterkunft waren für uns ein idealer Ausgangspunkt um den De Hoop National Park u. Cape Agulhas zu erkunden. Das Haus und deren Einrichtung ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. (Dank Pierre) Das Zimmer mit der Aussichtsterrasse und der Bergkulisse waren einfach unbeschreiblich. Ganz besonderer Dank gilt Isabel. Sie hat für uns gleich am Ankunftstag noch eine Restaurantreservierung veranlasst. Das servierte Frühstück war hervorragend. Von allen 8 Unterkünften auf unserer Reise von Ost nach West, war diese Unterkunft am schönsten. Die Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit von Isabel war einfach Top. Danke nochmals Isabel für die 2 Übernachtungen und den Ausflugtipps rund um Swellendam.

We had our first stay here after a long journey and it was just perfect. Isabel is the kindest owner, the place is just so beautiful and clean with a stunning view. The place really felt like home, we wished we could have stayed longer. We loved the recommendations Isabel gave us, anytime we would go back to Swellendam we would want to stay here again for sure!

What a wonderful, relaxing stay at 20 on Somerset which is within walking distance from shops, restaurants etc. Isabel is a kind & friendly host who encouraged us to watch the beautiful sunset before leaving for dinner for which she also made the reservation. The room was spotless and breakfast was perfect in every way. We left feeling so cared for. Thank you for your hospitality ... we'll be back again soon!

Daneben ist die Unterkunft stadtnah und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in unmittelbarer Nähe. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt mit einem sehr liebevollen Frühstück samt Bergblick. Daneben haben wir. noch viel tolle Reisetipps bekommen. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben.

One of the best rooms we stayed in whilst on our trip. Exceptionally clean and with everything you need for a night or two. Host was friendly with lots of information about the area and the breakfast was tasty.

Isobel is a totally charming host and as for the premises - Wow! architect-designed (her husband) on the side of a hill overlooking Swellendam and a fabulous mountain which sometimes disappears in the clouds (which seems quite amazing!). You can literally sit outside and admire the view or walk up to the patio at the top to take in 360 degrees. Our host and home is memorable but the rest of the stay is not to be forgotten. Lovely big room. We ate at a local place suggested (and booked) by Isobel, Swellendam has some places of historic interest - Dutch style old buildings etc. - so worth a stroll down the main street.

Such a lovely warm welcome from Isabel who was a perfect host. The property was beautiful and had amazing views. The room was very clean and had all we needed for a comfortable stay and the breakfast was delicious!

There was nothing to dislike, it was perfect for us but it may be a difficult property to access for those less mobile due to the number of steps.
