This place exceeded our expectations by far. The location right by the sea is breathtaking, and the private beach access was a true highlight! Just a few steps and you’re right on the beach and at nighttime you can hear the waves crashing! Everything is beautifully designed and very well thought out. We loved the lounge area with the pool, the well equipped small kitchen and drinks (just grab a cold beer when you arrive!). You can really tell how much care has gone into every detail. The cleanliness was outstanding – the rooms were spotless every single day. And a special thank you to Ken and Belinda, who are such warm and attentive hosts. They made us feel welcome from the very first moment. We had an incredible time and truly hope to come back one day!

Ken & Belinda are super lovely hosts. The communication before arrival was excellent. Upon arrival they offered information and assistance in every kind of way. Apart from that it's a wonderful property and the sea view rooms have got a stunning view and are equipped with everything you could think of. What we appreciated a lot is that we'd been welcomed personally by Ken & Belinda (with a refreshment drink) and they showed us around. The pool and lounge area is fantastic. Ein wirkliches Highlight aus unserer Reise. Familiengeführt und in Bester Lage direkt am Strand. Wir hatten ein sehr herzliches Ankommen. Ken und seine Frau hatten uns sehr nett begrüßt. Bei Fragen standen sie jederzeit zur Verfügung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit. So saubere Zimmer hatten wir auf unserer gesamten Reise nicht. Vielen Dank an das ganze Team für die tollen Tage.

Our stay at Shan C was the highlight of our two-week trip across South Africa. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. The rooms are beautifully designed, spotless in every corner, and equipped with every amenity you could possibly need. The beds are incredibly comfortable, making it easy to fully relax after a day of exploring. The entire property feels new, modern, and very well maintained. There is convenient parking and a lovely pool area with sunbeds, perfect for unwinding. What truly makes Shan C special, though, is its incredible location, right in front of the beach with private access. Waking up to the sound and view of the ocean each morning was simply unforgettable. On top of all this, Ken and Belinda are the most welcoming hosts we have encountered. They are warm, friendly, and always happy to share helpful tips, while also being genuinely enjoyable to talk to. They made us feel at home from the very first moment. I will definitely recommend Shan C to all my friends traveling along the Garden Route, and when I return to South Africa, I will absolutely stay here again.

This is a beautiful guesthouse. Our room & terrace with the view of the Ocean was awesome and the walks on the beach in the early morning are something we will not forget. The pool area was a great place to relax and just chill. The attention to detail is what makes a good stay a great one and we just want to thank Belinda & Ken for being such fantastic hosts and making us feel part of the family. We will be back.

Our stay at this seaside accommodation was absolutely amazing. The location right by the ocean is simply breathtaking. - Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying the panoramic view felt like a dream. We have traveled extensively over the years, but this place truly stands out as one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. The property is beautifully maintained, super comfortable, and so thoughtfully designed and what made our stay truly exceptional were the owners. - They are incredibly friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming. Their kindness and hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel at home from the very first moment. We left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return. This accommodation exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a special place by the Indian Ocean. This place is an absolute pearler! The accommodation has everything you need, with amazing views of the ocean and direct access to the beach. Even the pool and common areas are beautifully designed. The hosts, Ken and Belinda, are so lovely. They genuinely care, and you can feel that they love what they do. We had the best time there and will definitely come back.

Alles traumhaft schön! Das Haus liegt oberhalb einer Steilküste, offener Blick auf das Meer. Jedes Detail im Zimmer ist liebevoll ausgewählt, das ganze Anwesen ist sehr geschmackvoll und gepflegt. Belinda & Ken sind sehr herzlich und umsorgen ihre Gäste!

Wow! What can we say about this absolutely amazing property?! It was directly on one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen; the decor was first class; the owners had thought of everything and were the most delightful family. They greeted us, waved us off and even checked in to make sure we had reached our next destination safely! The rooms are enormous with beautiful sea views and whilst we didn’t see dolphins, a pair of binoculars, throws and cushions were set up for us in the morning to do some spotting from their terrace. Wilderness was a delightful town with restaurants and bars within a short distance. Definitely our favourite spot on the Garden Route.

This small beachfront accommodation is truly something special. With only a few rooms, it feels peaceful, intimate, and incredibly welcoming from the moment you arrive. The interior design is beautiful and cozy, and you can tell that every little detail has been carefully thought through. Nothing feels random, everything is arranged with love and great taste. The hosts are some of the warmest people we have met while traveling. They make you feel at home immediately, and their kindness creates such a relaxed and personal atmosphere. One of the absolute highlights is the direct access to the beach, one of the most beautiful places we‘ve ever seen. The property area is maintained and arranged with so much care and love that it feels almost magical. We completely fell in love with this little place and with the wonderful people Belinda and Ken who created it. It’s the kind of destination you never forget and will always want to return to. Amazing property on the beach front, with all the little amenities you could ever need. Ken and Belinda were so helpful with local recommendations, supplying snacks and drinks and even letting us keep an adapter we borrowed for the rest of our trip! Von Anfang bis Ende top! Die Besitzer Ken und seine Frau sind sehr zuvorkommend und liebenswert. Wir wurden immer informiert, sobald Delphine gesichtet wurden. Es gab sogar ein Fernglas im Zimmer. Man durfte sich umsonst an der Bar betätigen und das Zimmer mit Blick auf das Meer war einfach der Hammer. Privatzugang zum Strand uvm. Jederzeit wieder!

Wir haben vier Nächte im Shan C verbracht, nachdem wir vorher eineinhalb Wochen in Kapstadt und Umgebung waren. Das Shan C ist eine wahre Wohlfühloase, genau das Richtige, um nach dem Stadtleben runterzukommen und die Batterien aufzuladen. Ken und Belinda sind tolle Gastgeber, die das Shan C mit ganz viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet haben.

Everything was perfect. The hosts are amazing, so friendly and helpful. We stayed twice during our our journey, stayed in 3 different rooms, all of which were beautiful, decorated with excellent taste and everything you might need has been thought of. Can't wait to return.

Wir waren nun bereits zum 3. Mal im Shan C und erneut haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Alles ist perfekt und wie auf den Bildern und von anderen Gästen beschrieben: Ausstattung, Lage, all die vielen Details, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Danke an Belinda & Ken für den schönen Aufenthalt 🤩🙏🏼✨!!!! Wir freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch🌅!

Fantastische und ruhige Lage direkt am Strand mit Meerblick. Zimmer mit Balkon, Kitchenette (u.a. Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher, Mikrowelle, Geschirr & Besteck). Kleiner Pool und Outdoor-Bereich (teilweise überdacht) mit Sonnenliegen sowie für den Strand u.a. Sonnenschirm vorhanden. Zimmer wird jeden Tag gereinigt. Auto kann auf dem Grundstück geparkt werden. Sehr freundliche, offene, kommunikative und hilfsbereite Gastgeber.

Vielleicht wäre eine Kapsel-Espressomaschine gut, falls man keine französische Kaffeepresse mag. Für uns war es kein Problem. Wir wären gern noch länger geblieben.

Der Blick direkt zum Meer ist außergewöhnlich schön. Mit direktem Zugang zum Strand. Rings um den privaten Pool sind mehrere bequeme Liegen und eine überdachte Fläche mit 8ter Tisch zum Grillen in chillen ist vorhanden. Für Getränke… alkoholische und nichtalkoholische ist gesorgt. Ken und Belinda sind sehr zuvorkommend und sehr bemüht es einem Recht zu machen.

Es ist eine super schöne Unterkunft mit allem was man braucht, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Die Lage ist einzigartig und die Gastgeber sind herzlich. Sie gestalten einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich. Das ganze Haus ist sehr durchdacht und mit viel Herz und Liebe geführt.

Endroit idyllique pour faire une pause lors d'un séjour dans la région du Cap. Nous avons passé ici 4 jours enchanteurs. Tout était parfait, la maison nichée en haut d'une dune avec des escaliers privatifs donnant sur une plage de rêve quasi déserte. Une chambre spacieuse et moderne décorée avec goût, une vue fabuleuse et un environnement végétal parfait. Pour compléter ce tableau, nos adorables hôtes Belinda et Ken qui ont tout fait pour que notre séjour soit une vraie réussite. Contrairement à nos habitudes, il est fort possible que nous revenions revivre cette expérience dans un avenir proche!

Besser geht es nicht. Wir waren überwältigt von der Lage, die Ausstattung ist bombastisch und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Über Treppen gelangt man zum Strand. Es sind Picknickdecken und Klappstühle vorhanden, die man nutzen kann. Der Loungebereich mit kleinem Pool ist wunderschön gestaltet. Ken und Belinda sind tolle Gastgeber und mixen einem gerne auch mal einen Drink. Die Zimmer werden täglich gereinigt. Wir kommen definitiv gerne wieder. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten ein Apartment für 3 Personen gebucht, als wir ankamen wurden wir sehr herzlich begrüßt und Belinda hat unserem Sohn ein eigenes Zimmer ohne Aufpreis angeboten. Man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Die Zimmer sind so geschmackvoll und mit viel Herzblut von Belinda eingerichtet. Ein traumhaftes Haus und wunderschöne Lage direkt am Strand. Lage: perfekt mit Treppe direkt mit dem Strand verbunden und trotzdem sehr sicher. Ausstattung: alles was man benötigt, sehr gepflegt und alles in einem super Zustand. Gastgeber: besser kann man es nicht antreffen. 6 von 5 möglichen Sternen :-). Hilfsbereit, gaben uns tolle Tips und haben uns sogar abends vom Restaurant im Ort abgeholt. Wenn wir noch einmal in Wilderness Urlaub machen, dann definitiv im Shan C. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Ken & Belinda have created a really beautiful oasis in Wilderness. A calm and lovely space. Our room was great with a fabulous view of the beach, which you can access from the property. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed. The gardens & pool area are immaculate and very pretty. They were great hosts helping with restaurant recommendations & arranging laundry for us. A great place to stay.

We have just spent a memorable few days at this delightful guest house. Our hosts Ken Belinda and Shannen were the loveliest and most generous people who could not do enough to help you. The rooms we had were of the highest standard we have ever encountered with amazing sea views. Attention to detail was absolutely spot on and they were beautifully decorated and equipped and you could not fault a single thing. The pool and outdoor seating area were also incredibly laid out and inviting. Everything about this stunning guest house was perfect. We will not be staying anywhere else when in Wilderness and cannot recommend a stay at Shan C

Tolle Lage

Wirklich alles, die Gastgeber sind top und sehr bemüht um Ihre Gäste, die ganze Unterkunft ist äusserst gepflegt und sauber. Viele Kleinigkeiten machen den Aufenthalt zu einem äusserst angenehmen Erlebnis. Das nötige für unser Frühstück haben wir im nahegelegene Spar besorgt, einen sehr guten Kaffee hat es aber auf dem Zimmer.

Nichts oder doch.....wir hätten länger bleiben sollen :-) aber wir werden wieder kommen.

Sehr gepflegte Unterkunft an bester Lage mit Traumblick und direktem Zugang zum Strand von Wilderness - genial! Ein grossartiger Ort um 2-3 Tage zu verweilen und entspannen. The ocean view from our room was fantastic. We really enjoyed the wonderful sunsets and could even spot some dolphins from the terrace! Everything was just perfect, the room was very clean and had everything we needed and more. Ken and Belinda are very lovely & welcoming hosts. We can only recommend this beautiful place.

Ken and Belinda are amazing hosts and gave such a warm welcome upon our arrival to Shan C. The rooms are very well equipped with a number of different snacks, water and endless amounts of tea and coffee also some complementary port in the room. Shan C is located on the sand dune at Wilderness which has amazing views of the beach. We loved waking up in the morning and walking down the steps for a walk along the beach. Shan C is a short walk from the cetre where there are lots of restraunts available and also a 5 minute drive from the Kingfisher Walk. Shan C is a great place to relax and unwind - we look forward to returning one day!

We tend to wright: just everything! Starting with the very warm welcoming hosts Belinda and Ken, continued with very clean and lovely decorated rooms to a most perfect location, close to downtown Wildernis and a spectacular view of the ocean. Topped of with a nice pool including refreshments on site, and of course all the insider tips by the hosts. 10 points does feel like it’s not enough!

It was a piece of heaven. The fabulous owners had thought of everything. The facilities were outstanding and more. The room spacious and beautiful. Everything you would need was there. Fab shower room. Kitchen area with microwave, kettle, fridge and more, etc. Juices, milks teas coffees biscuits and other goodies. The view from our room of the sea and beach below was stunning. The owners would do anything for you. The garden and pool area again beautiful, peaceful spacious and comfortable. Very comfy bed. . Easy to get to the town and restaurants. I would recommend to anyone. Loved it.

Mense! Ek het klaar vir my man gesê ons bly nie weer iewers anders wanneer ons in Wilderness is nie! Beslis ‘n MOET besoek!! Die oom en tannie het ons 20:30 op ‘n Sondagaand met nie net die wêreld se vriendelikheid & gasvryheid nie, maar ook met ‘n groot sin van “tuiste”. Alles daar was net eksepsioneel. Nie net mooi nie, maar veilig, rustig en salig. Wat ‘n voorreg was dit nie om my koppie koffie te drink en na die walviase te kyk nie! Weereens, beslis ‘n MOET besoek!

I have had the privilege to travel the world and stay in some amazing places. This however takes the top spot. If I could I would rate it 12/10. The attention to detail is like non other. The hosts are amazing and welcoming. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Wilderness.

Everything. Ken and Belinda were exceptional hosts, making us feel completely at home. Their hospitality was unparalleled, and the unit was impeccably clean and offering stunning sea views. Plus, the beach was just steps away from our doorstep, providing perfect convenience and enjoyment.

A true gem! Waking up to the most fabulous view and going to sleep to the sound of the waves would be worth a 10 alone. But Belinda and Ken make a stay here feel like a dream! They are the friendliest hosts ever. The room is equipped with everything you could possibly need, from Ugandan coffee to snacks to some port to toast that view. There’s even some binoculars. Every detail is thought of. Direct access to a spectacular beach, nice restaurants nearby. Don’t stay anywhere else in Wilderness. Thank you, Belinda, Shannon, Eveline, Duke ( the dog) and Ken!

There is absolutely nothing I can think of.

I don’t know how to convey how special this property is and how foolish you would be not to book it. We booked as a simple stopover between Cape Town and Knysna but wish we had booked longer. It is perfect in every way: location; hosts; interior- just delightful and utterly serene. So many thoughtful little touches. Plus you can eat at world class restaurant serendipity! But to be specific, if you crave being on the beach with a spectacular full glass view of the ocean- this is it. This place will linger in our memories.

This was our favourite stay of the garden route. The rooms are immaculately clean, serviced daily, incredible views of the ocean and beach access. All the facilities available to guests are amazing. But what really makes this place stand out are the hosts! Ken and Belinda go above and beyond. They’re so friendly that you feel like you’re staying with friends as they allow you to use their pool and BBQ area too. Ken offers lifts into and back from town to guests but you can walk if you wish it doesn’t take long. We also met their lovely daughter Shannon and family dog! They even messaged us once we had left to check we arrived at our next destination safely - they truly care about guests! We were so sad to leave and if we ever visit again we would without a doubt book to stay here again!

Wow..... This place is wonderful - we loved every moment of 6 night stay at Shan C!!! Location-wise, it is absolutely stunning. Set on the dunes, looking out to sea....it really is the stuff of dreams. The design of the building is stylish, the interiors, gardens, and terraces, all beautiful. So much thought has gone into every little detail. The owners (& brilliant hosts), Ken, Belinda and Shannon made our stay really special - always on hand with suggestions, there to help with restaurant bookings, bringing drinks whilst we all chatted round the pool - just the loveliest, most genuine family you could wish to meet. Oooo plus they have THE MOST ADORABLE dog, Duke!!! So many little touches made our stay special - snacks, juices, waters, choccies in the room (replenished daily), binoculars for watching the dolphins from the room (yup, really!), a fully stocked honesty bar/fridge at the pool - I could go on..... We had the best nights' sleep during our stay - patio door open, listening to the waves, on our huge bed in luxury bedding.....bliss. The property is maintained to perfection, pristine throughout, yet feels totally relaxed and not "precious". You know you are in a very special place, but without any need to stand on ceremony. Location-wise it is also a dream. A 20/25 minute stroll into the heart of Wilderness (along the beach), with two great restaurants even closer by. An easy drive to Knysna and Plettenberg Bay along the Garden Route. A very special place indeed! We'll be back!

Ken and Belinda, the hosts, are PROPER HOSTS. Facilities are all you can ask for. Attention to detail was outta this world. Amazing views, amazing walks. Just wow.

We loved our stay at Shan C. Ken and Belinda were very warm and welcoming hosts. The property is clean, safe, quiet and well located right at the beach. The bed was incredibly comfortable! We loved the attention to detail, complimentary drinks and snacks, well-kept pool area, and nice atmosphere. We wish we could have stayed longer and will be back!

Our best stay on our previous round trip. Belinda and Ken, the hosts, are so incredibly warm and friendly people. They not only helped us and were open to everything, but we built up a friendly relationship in a very short time. We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you again, God willing.

Shan C is an amazing place to stay. The hospitality of Ken and Belinda was excellent. The little touches that they did made our stay feel really luxurious. The decor, attention to detail and generosity all made this a wonderful guest house. The location is fantastic overlooking a long sandy Beach.

We had the most wonderful stay an Shan C. The owners are the most welcoming hosts we've ever met. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The rooms are perched on a beautiful dune, directly on the beach, with private access just steps away. Fully equipped and thoughtfully designed, they leave nothing to be desired. Complimentary drinks, great conversations, and a truly special atmosphere made this an unforgettable part of our vacation. We only wish we could have stayed longer – 10/10!

The owners of this property are the most hospitable people I have ever met. They were very welcoming, helpful, and nice. The property itself was absolutely incredible, super clean, and had breathtaking views. I would recommend this property to anyone. I definitely will be returning one day.

This was such a little gem we discovered along our way through the Garden Route. The owners were incredibly kind and hospitable. Ken offered to drive us to and from the nearby restaurants and even offered us a home-cooked dinner should we not find a table during the busiest season. The room is fully equipped with everything you may think of. Fresh milk for your morning coffee, little snacks in the fridge to keep you going on a road trip, beach towels and umbrella, complimentary port for a sundowner, binoculars to do some dolphin spotting. No detail was left unattended. The room was spotless with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The property itself is immaculately kept with a beautiful garden. The heated swimming pool was lovely for a windy afternoon when the beach wasn’t an option. The view of the ocean right from your bed is gorgeous and you can access the beach directly from the property. We had a fabulous stay indeed and shall definitely return for many more visits.

Everything ! This guesthouse was a little gem. We loved the location right in front of the sea and appreciated the terrace. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us many recommandations. We really felt at home ! The swimming pool, barbecue area and garden were also lovely. We also appreciated the confort of the bedroom.
