Hospitality was excellent. Stay here for the second time now with my parents and son. The rooms are clean and spacious, the breakfast is exceptional and the hosts could do more for you. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Torquay.

We stayed at three different BnBs during our vacation, and the Glendower was by far the best experience. Our hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommended.

After the Glendower the kids were disappointed by the other BnBs/hotels we stayed at.

Great location, wonderful hosts, room was comfy - really did feel like a home from home - I had a horrendous walk getting to it and they saved the day entirely with the lovely hospitality and room. I was given tea and biscuits when I arrived, had fresh cold water in my room waiting and was given fresh milk for my room too. Lovely hosts made me feel welcomed. Breakfast this morning was great, sat down, offered tea or coffee (had a cafetière of lovely coffee), brought toast and butter and then ordered and ate a fabulous locally sourced full English (really good menu options too). Just what I needed to turn around a dodgy start to a holiday. Thank you!

The breakfast and location were both excellent.

The food was fantastic.It felt like it had been lovingly cooked and presented by a professional.You could have a daily special if you wanted to which I didn't expect.It felt a good step up from eating a run of the mill breakfast.The hosts were great.You felt that nothing was too much trouble for them.They aim to please.

Both Ian and Janette was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much and the breakfast was very nice and the kids enjoyed their pan cakes. The rooms was lovely too and the little touches with the foxes mints and sweets the kids also loved. We would all defo stay here again if we came back to Torquay.

The only thing i would say is that i wish i had somewhere where i could cook lunch and dinner as eating out became quite expensive but for a bed and breakfast the hotel was great.

Very clean, comfortable and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and they were very flexible with our orders. They had a special every day, which we loved. Our room was spacious and fit the four of us comfortably. We had en suite and a fridge. You could go down the bar to grab something at any point and just make a note of it. We also used the restaurant for takeaways on a couple of nights.

Warm welcome from the owners when I arrived and they ensured my motorcycle was parked in the most secure location in the carpark. Gave me information on the town and best places to eat & visit .

Large room. Ceiling fans kept us cool in this weather also a fridge. Obviously a cherished building. Jeannette and Ian were lovely hosts. Breakfast was superb. Parking spaces available. Strongly recommend this hotel. Can't wait to return.

The cooked breakfasts were excellent, set us up for the day. The location of the B&B was great, close to the beach, public transport, and close enough to walk into the town and harbour, but not so close that you get any noise etc. Janette & Ian were both fab, friendly and extremely helpful.

The room was quite warm but we were in the middle of a heatwave so I can't hold that against anyone!

Virkelig et dejligt hotel med søde ejere som gør meget for, at opholdet bliver behageligt og komfortabelt. Vi havde booket et 4 personers værelse, men ved ankomst tilbød ejer, at vi godt kunne få to separate værelser, ligeledes var det helt i orden, at få værelset før tid. Der er kaffe og te og bisquit, samt kold vand og mælk i termokande på værelset, som stilles i køleskabet. Lækker shampoo og sæbe på badeværelset og selve værelset er dejligt lyst med vifter i loftet og flot indrettet. Morgenmaden er dejlig, frisk frugtsalat, yoghurt, div. cornflakes, forskellig juice og frisk lavet engelsk morgenmad af forskellige slags på bestilling og som er indeholdt i morgenmadsprisen. Mine bedste anbefalinger til Hotel Glendower 🥇❤️👍

Hvad jeg ikke kunne lide, har ikke noget med hotellet at gøre, men at Argentina vandt over England, kunne jeg ikke lide.

The welcome I received as I walked through the door and made me feel at home. I arrived earlier than check in time and was able to leave my luggage in the room as it was ready for me. The use of big screen TV in the evenings to watch films and sport down the bar and eat instead of watching a small screen in the room and was able to bring my own drinks down to consume whilst watching TV. The breakfast was delicious each day and they bought bran flakes as I requested before my visit which was very helpful.

The decor of the B&B was gorgeous and Janette and Ian were really attentive and helpful hosts. The breakfast was lovely and there was a range of cooked breakfasts, cereals and fruit on offer. The range of teas, hot chocolate and biscuits (which were provided in the room) as well as the welcome cup of tea on arrival adds to the high standard provided. The location of the B&B is ideal as the beach is a 5-6 minute walk and the train station is a 6-7 minute walk away with the Torre Museum in close proximity. The main town being about a 25-30 minute walk. The Glendower is definitely the place to stay if you visit Torquay. Many thanks Janette & Ian! 🙂.

Excellent guest house. Proprietors were welcoming and could not do enough for our comfort. Room was lovely, large spacious and airy with everything you needed in the room. Breakfast was excellent. Location perfect. Would definitely stay again.

The location is great if you are arriving in Torquay by rail (10 minute walk from station), plus Torre Abbey is very close by. The harbour and main shopping area is also reachable on foot from this hotel. Cooked breakfast options besides the Full English are provided as well as fruit, cereal, toast and yoghurts.

This was a really enjoyable experience for all the family and the hotel accommodation, the staff and the ambience were all delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and need hardly add that the breakfast was superb not just for the adults but for our young grandchildren, too.

​A wonderful hotel with a warm, family atmosphere! ​This hotel is incredibly pleasant, and the staff are amazingly polite. Unlike other places where you just feel like a number, here we felt right at home. We were welcomed with tea and coffee, almost as if we were visiting family. ​The rooms are clean and very spacious, and the breakfast we had was absolutely delicious. A huge and very important bonus for us was the EV charging station – and it's not expensive at all! Anyone driving an electric car will definitely want to stay here. Highly recommended!

A real gem of a place! Rooms were lovely, and they've thought of everything you'd ever need! Fresh milk for the tea/coffee, and a jug of iced water. The hosts were really nice, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous, all cooked fresh and plenty of choices. The breakfast room itself was lovely! A really enjoyable way to start the day. Highly recommend!!

Breakfast was EXCELLENT, being offered a Special was most unusual, the Shakshouka was delicious and presented well, the following day, Stuffed crispy croissant filled with bacon and cheesy scrambled egg was again delicious. Good choice of fresh berries and fresh fruit to have with Greek yogurt. All freshly done, much better than big hotels. You just had to ask for any combination of breakfast. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming, we were greeted on arrival with tea or coffee and homemade cake and shortbread. We would highly recommend this B&B.

The owners were very friendly . Breakfast was superb and there was a great choice . Our show at the Princess theatre was cancelled at the last minute and as soon as Ian and Janette heard this they offered us a substantial reduction when we booked again for later on in the year to see the rearranged show . I stay in many hotels due to my job and I can honestly say this place is very good and the owners care about their hotel and their customers ........ keep up the good work !!

The property was beautifully located near the Conference Centre, the main reason I was there…to attend a conference. The seafront is close as are places to eat.

The friendly welcoming hosts. The decor in the room and breakfast room. The little touches like fresh milk in a flask, iced water, biscuits and great choice of drink sachets and a fridge that is put on when requested. Lovely fluffy towels. Comfy beds and very quiet. Great breakfast with blueberries, rasps mixed fruit etc before ordering the hot choices. Full breakfast or salmon or omelettes and more. Really accommodating in letting us park early on the check in day and leave our car after check out.

Shower took a little time to adjust from being too hot. Other than that....nothing!

Jannette and Ian are amazing hosts,they could not be more welcoming ,There is plenty of parking avalible ,rooms are very spacious and super clean, we had a huge comfy bed and slept very well. Good location close to the seafront ,and a short walk to town . The breakfast was truly out of this world ,without doubt the best we have ever eaten . We will be back 5 stars from us .

Great location for us, parking right outside and bonus of an EV charger. Our hosts were lovely, a warm welcome with coffee and cake, our family room was spacious and well equipped for us, we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice and a lovely special of eggs benedict which was perfect. Great value for money and we would definitely stay again.

The Glandower was in a perfect location, walking distance to the princess Theatre and Harbour. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Torquay. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast has to be one of the best we’ve ever had.

I expected to like staying here as I had great memories from staying at the Glendower 35 years ago. Very interesting to return and see changes. Really good stay overall. All very enjoyable and I have no problem making a strong recommendation to stay here. My hosts were great. Nice room, good breakfasts. Glendower is very close to the railway station which is helpful. However that means you might be tempted to catch the train to Paignton and eat there (restaurants a lot cheaper). Recommend the Thai restaurant near Paignton station.
