Food crumbs on the beds, spiders everywhere, no parking for my cabin, staff didn’t answer the phone when called about the heater not working after multiple attempts to get in touch with them, food wrappers that Were not ours under the bed and behind the fridge. Very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026Traveled to complete the Paparoa Track. The helpfulness and service from the camp staff was top notch. I had dinner at the pub and the food was great. Overall a genuine West Coast experience. 2 thumbs up 👍 👍

Reviewed May 19, 2026The location was good to cycle to Pancake Rocks. By cycling, we realise we avoided a $5.00 carparking charge. The new information centre that's opened along the road is a must-see. A well-equipped kitchen - any kitchen hardware we needed could be sourced from reception. The double-bed was comfy and warm.

Nothing, absolutely nothing. It was the perfect place to stay and we enjoyed it so much. More of a personal preference thing but the pillows were a little thing and the bed a tiny bit hard but it wont stop be from coming back.

Reviewed May 3, 2026The location overall is excellent, we stayed at the end of walking the Paparoa Great Walk. It was affordable and close to the pub. Very friendly helpful staff. Good hot showers.
The cabin itself was disappointing. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable and synthetic bedding. The cabin doors didn’t lock on either front or back doors. A super annoying power point that was on a loud ticking timer! No towels provided but we could rent for an extra $20. ‘Tea making’ facilities but no water or milk provided. Overall very tired & small ‘family’ cabin.

If I wanna smell urin I would choose to sleep on the street for free. Even though I told receptionist about our problem they weren't able to change our cabin and they just gave us deodorant instead.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026Stunning cabin with views over to the river. Very comfortable room, once you get used to all the sandflies in the area. The Beach Camp has everything you need and kindly lends cooking equipment. The white bait fritters sold on site were phenomenal!
Only critic would be how little prep bench space there is in the kitchen. Cooking at peak dinner time became a juggling act with other guests. Everyone is very lovely and friendly though.

One toilet block...only 4 toilet ladies toilets so waited in a slow queue 5 deep in the morning. Raining so mud path to toilet block was dark & tricky at night

Reviewed Feb 28, 2026The location was exceptional, my cabin looked out over the flax bushes etc to the beach somewhere in the distance. There were tuis or bellbirds squawking in the trees outside in the morning. My cabin was very private and I really felt at one with nature.
Because the motor camp was packed with travellers i felt that the bathroom and toilet areas could have been cleaned once more per day. The floor seemed very wet with a bit of rubbish here and there. I also noticed a full rubbish bin somewhere. Given the camp was at capacity I guess these things hapeen

There was a peculiar smell when we entered the cabin. Couldn't work out if it was coming from inside or outside. Almost like something had died. There was a big pothole on the driveway.

Reviewed Feb 14, 2026La cabane du camping super...un grand lit très confortable avec des draps agréables, une table, une kitchenette. Très calme , grand respect des campings car...espaces communs bien équipés.
La distance des toilettes car c'était le déluge tout l'après-midi....Pour l'arrivée avec Intercity 20mn à pied.....mais top avec West coaches bus pour repartir devant la taverne. Trop de mails avant l'arrivée insistant sur le fait qu'il n'y a aucun magasin. Du coup, je me suis alourdi alors que la taverne est vraiment super, à côté et qu'à la réception ils ont quelques réserves.

Les douches étaient un peu éloignées et pas assez nombreuses pour les femmes au vu du nombre de personnes dans le camping.
