Super gezellige eigenaren, er was ook veel te regelen vanuit hen wat top was!

Je moet wel even wennen aan de insecten/beestjes in en rondom de kamer.

de treehouse. en de buiten douche. en het ontbijt was heel lekker.

het is basic en er wordt niet schoongemaakt ( douche zat vol bladeren en beestjes na 1 nacht. het is een leuke plek, net buiten het centrum maar de prijs is te hoog voor wat je krijgt.

Siamo stati benissimo ad East Surf Cabana ed é stato un piacere conoscere Raffaella e Sudu. L’alloggio si trova a 10 min dal centro per cui si può godere di pace e tranquillità pur non essendo distanti da tutto il resto. Abbiamo molto apprezzato la doccia all’aperto, la colazione alla carta e l’indimenticabile jungle bbq. Torneremo sicuramente, grazie di tutto!!

Super localisation : Excentré de la ville donc un espace très calme mais proche de la plage à pied Douche extérieure sympa Très bon petit dej (mention spécial au muesli)

Attention lors de la réservation il y a des chambres sans Clim mais avec le vent et le ventilateur ça allait pour nous Les rideaux ne montent pas jusqu’en haut, il fait jour dans la chambre plus lumière des voisins de cabanas le soir

The wifi in the room could be better. I had 1 late night meeting during my stay. Staff was very helpful in finding me a nice spot in common area.

On a adoré notre séjour à east surf Cabana, tenu par une très sympathique famille srilanko-italienne. De chouettes échanges sur la(les) cultures srilankaises, un jungle bbq mémorable( on a vu plein d animaux!!), des petits déjeûners succulents, des chambres très joliment aénagées dans un magnifique jardin, etc. Raphaëlla, notre hôte nous a mis en contact avec un super prof de surf. Nos enfants ont adoré! Bref, nous recommandons vivement cette belle et chaleureuse guesthouse!

Einer der schönsten,liebevollen Orte in Arugam Bay. Die Beisitzerin ist eine sehr lustige, lebensfrohe Frau, die viel Liebe und Arbeit in die kleinen Hauser gesteckt hat. Köstliches Frühstück und auf Wunsch auch Lunch und Dinner. Ein Paradiesischer Ort! Wir kommen definitiv wieder. 🧡💛💚

Just spent 3 nights in this beautiful place. Location just 10 minutes walk from the busy part of Arugam bay - easy walk to many cafes and restaurants but very peaceful. Extremely friendly staff and loved our chats and laughs with the owner Raffaela . Accommodation is perfect with very comfy beds (with mosquito nets) , small fridge and good A/c. Very delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Highly recommend the home made granola with fruit and curd which set us up for a day on the beach / surfing. Also highly recommend doing the evening bbq offered which was one of our highlights- we saw more wildlife ( crocs, elephants, water monitors, buffaloes than on our safari to Kumana national park. Shame we couldn’t stay longer

They were wonderful hosts. If I were to go back there, I would definitely stay at the same hotel. The ambiance, nature and bathroom was amazing.

Kaum angekommen, fühlt man sich hier wie zuhause. Raffi und ihr Team sind sehr herzlich, offen und unglaublich hilfsbereit. Wir hatten hier eine super entspannte Zeit und uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Das Morgenessen war um Welten besser als in vielen Restaurants. Auch die Ausstattung war aussergewöhnlich. Hier kriegst Du trinkbares fliessendes Wasser, Kühlschrank, Safe und liebenswerte Hunde und Katzen:-) Falls wir mal wieder nach Arugam kommen, dann sofort hierher. Danke nochmals für die schöne Zeit!

La habitación es muy amplia y el baño increíble, con una preciosa ducha exterior. El desayuno nos gustó mucho, con varias opciones para elegir. La ubicación es muy buena, porque está muy cerca del pueblo y de la playa pero sin el bullicio y ruido del centro.

Las cortinas de la habitación llegan solo a media altura de las ventanas, por lo que no hay mucha privacidad. Se trata de un bungalow por lo que no supone un gran problema, pero aun así habría preferido otro tipo de cortinas.

Ontzettend genoten van deze leuke en mooie plek. Net buiten het drukke centrum, maar alles op loopafstand. Heerlijk ontbijt en super lief personeel. Wij zouden het zeker aanbevelen!

Heerlijk ontbijt waarbij je keuze hebt. Bedden lagen prima. Fijn dat je onbeperkt gratis drinkwater kon krijgen en standhanddoeken. Ook het verschonen van bedlinnen/Handdoeken om de dag was prettig. Al het personeel was heel aardig en behulpzaam.

Weinig privacy: gordijntjes wapperen open door ventilator en gebouwen rond ons konden mee in de douche/het toilet kijken. Ontvangst werd door een vriendin (?) gedaan die niet helemaal nuchter meer was. Dat was een beetje vreemd. Verder werkt enkel 1/3 stopcontacten sporadisch.

Tout était parfait : au calme juste un peu à l’écart du centre mais super proche à pied des restos du centre et de la plage, la chambre était top, confortable, super propre, et tout le staff était adorable. Mention spéciale pour le petit dej, copieux et délicieux !! Super spot pour rester quelques jours et profiter de Arugam Bay !

Wat een geweldig verblijf hebben we hier achter de rug met ons gezin. De kamers zijn ruim, netjes en voorzien van airco en fan en koelkast. Je bevind je op wandelafstand (10 minuten) van Baby Point welk een perfecte surfspot is voor beginners zoals wij. Maar naast al hetgeen reeds vermeld, zijn de echte troeven het verhaal van Rafaelle en Sudu, het prachtige werk dat ze hier verrichten, de geweldige BBQsafari (meer olifanten gezien dan sommigen op andere safari’s) en het prachtige creatieve ontbijt a la carte (Michael’s muesli was onze favoriet) met ook speciaal menu voor de kinderen.

Niks hier op te merken. Je kan met al je vragen terecht bij Rafaelle en ze hielp ons zelfs last minute snel aan een nieuwe taxi richting ons volgende locatie toen de door ons eerst bestelde taxi wat te klein uitviel voor ons gezin en bagage.

Mooie ruime kamer. Zeer gezellige en gastvrije host. De BBQ safari is zeker een aanrader! Heerlijk ontbijt en niet ver lopen naar het strand en het straatje met alle winkeltjes.

Er liepen nogal wat mieren en andere beestjes in de kamer, ramen/luiken zijn niet helemaal dicht. Maar verder echt top!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt geliebt! Wunderschönes geräumiges und stilvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, tolle Außendusche in unserer Cabana! Es gab wohlduftende Seife im Bad. Es gab eine Hängematte vor der Zimmertüre! Bestes Frühstück! Energiegeladene Gastgeberin, die sich sehr um ihre Gäste kümmert (man merkt es macht ihr Spaß). Wir haben das Jungledinner mit ihrem Mann in Anspruch genommen, was wirklich ein einmaliges Erlebnis war. Wir waren zuerst etwas skeptisch ob es wirklich so wie versprochen wird, aber unsere Erwartungen wurden sogar übertroffen! Unbedingt machen! Der Strand (Main Spot) ist in gut 10 Min zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir empfehlen generell ein Moped auszuleihen um schneller zu den Restaurants etc. zu kommen.

Amazing cabanas, close to the main streat and beach, but just outside so it is nice and quite. Big rooms and bathroom, love the hammock, the breakfast and staff are amazing! Definitely coming back

Kind, helpful and familiar service. Breakfasts were so good, the best roti&sambal we had! The location was also perfect for us- a little bit aside, but still close to the town, restaurants and shops and to the beach( around 7-10 minutes down the path between local houses and small surf resorts. We really loved it.

We had an incredible two weeks at East Surf Cabanas. The rooms were airy and clean, the property was perfectly located, and our hosts created such a lovely atmosphere. Raffaella and Sudu run the place and it was a joy to spend some time with them each day. Highly recommend Sudu’s jungle BBQ experience. The best part of our day however was breakfast, made by a wonderful group of women who made the best coconut roti, string hoppers and sambal we had in Sri Lanka!

This property was a true beach meets jungle experience! The bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked great. The property grounds are very pretty and calm. I had breakfast each day which was delicious. I also did a massage on-site which was awesome! The breakfast was good each day. It was a very short walk into the main town area, I liked being away from all the noise. The host was very friendly and funny, and she helped to arrange transportation for me.

East Surf Cabana was one of our favourite places to stay in Sri Lanka. It has a real family feel with a touch of luxury. From hand towels to housekeeping, the little details were really thought about. We would love to return one day.

A lovely guesthouse, away from the main strip but still walkable to everything you need. The host and staff were so nice. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The breakfast was delicious and there were many options to choose from.

What is there not to like? No.1 favorite in Sri Lanka for us. The cabanas are really spacious and clean. Hot showers and a bed I felt bad leaving. There is a breeze going through this place, wholesome and comforting. Where nature meets you in the kindest way. We loved the passion Sudu and Rafaela put in this little gem tucked away on a quiet road but still in walkable distance to the beach. It was off season when we were there. I can imagine it being buzzing with people and we might have to come back for that. Oh and the best breakfast I've had probably ever.

We should've stayed longer, just book it already.

We loved the hospitality of Raf, Sudu, Jada (their 10 yo daughter) and the staff. They took time to get to know us and built a positive rapport immediately. The accommodations were very comfortable and there was a lot of space for our family of 5. They served the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka, as there were plenty of delicious options! Sudu and Raf helped us organize and schedule our adventures whether it was surfing or clothing stores. The main beach was a quick walk and a variety of cafes and restaurants along the way. Our last night we were treated to a fabulous curry dinner prepared by Sudu and the ladies that we enjoyed with all the guests and some of Jada's friends! Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and have a few shots of Arrack with Sudu!!! He certainly has some amazing stories! Super people, super food, super accommodations = super fun time!

Quiet location, yet close to beach and main road. Spacious and cozy rooms, some with outside showers, breezy and very comfortable. Monkey action in the garden, delicious food and amazing staff. Will return!

Excellent place, well maintained and very friendly and attentive staff. Its tucked away from the busy area, yet so close (walking distance to the town) making it an ideal place to relax when you want to and still enjoy the vibrancy of Arugam Bay town when you feel like. Breakfast was great and yummy. We loved every bit of it.

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation; everything was perfect! First of all, the tap water throughout the property is DRINKABLE! For breakfast, there were several options to choose from, including local specialties and VEGAN dishes, all accompanied by the freshest and most delicious avocado and fruits. The staff were kind and attentive. Our room was tastefully decorated, and the lovely private terrace with a hammock provided true comfort, as did the A/C and the fan. The bed was large and comfortable, with a mosquito net included. The open bathroom was very authentic, with hot water and shower gel available. We were visited by a few small frogs, which only made our stay more memorable. The garden is like an oasis, with beautiful and well-maintained plants. We are so grateful to Rafaella and Sudu for operating such a high-quality accommodation, and we can’t wait to return in the future! :)

Best out of the best. Ideal place with authentic atmosphere and comfort. Spent almost a week with Rafaella and Sudu, it was a real pleasure. Beautiful tropical garden, cosy terrace, romantic evening on safari BBQ, delicious breakfasts. For sure I will stay here when next time in Arugam Bay. Everything 😀 The room was spacious, comfy and nice. We loved the open bathroom. The breakfast is amazing (we tried Hungry Surfer, porridge and muesli) All the staff is super nice. And of course don’t miss the barbecue safari !

Rafaela and her staff made us feel welcome and we‘re always ready to help accommodate our wishes and answer questions. Breakfast was great - a different variety of dishes was offered. The cabana was nicely furnished with an outdoor shower and a seating area in front.

The rooms have a sort of wooden decoration above the windows, so insects could easily enter the room. If you don’t mind that, than it’s no problem at all.

Big room, comfortable bed, big open air bathroom with hot water(water heater), friendly owner - it was very nice to speak with her in the morning during breakfast, and breakfast was good. In the whole everything was nice. If we will be in Arugam we will try to stay here one more time.

Some things in room needs small renovation(but it's not critical for now). I hope they will renovate soon, because its very nice place with very relaxing atmosphere.

The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly. You can pay with a credit card, and they offer free water, which isn't common in Sri Lanka

Regrettably, the accommodation did not align with what was advertised during the booking process. It took a 10-minute walk to reach the sea, and the view was more of a distant glimpse across a field rather than a genuine sea view. Furthermore, the cleanliness left much to be desired. A damaged mosquito net and stained towels. It's disappointing because we had anticipated a better experience. In our apartment, there was no full kitchen available; we only had access to a sink, a small fridge, and some basic dishware for slicing fruit, for instance.

We loved the outdoor shower, the beautiful room and the lovely breakfast.. and dont forget the lovely staff.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of nice breeze with aircon available although we did not need it. Breakfast was provided and delicious in the mornings. The best part was the safe drinking water!! We could drink out of any tap which was a life saviour in the heat. We also loved the Jungle BBQ and Curry night.

The Wifi was not available in the rooms so had to go down to the communal area for access. Forced us to put our phones down though!

Great staff very kind people, great breakfast in the morning, it’s not too far from the main road so you can walk and also not too close so you can have peaceful and quiet nights.

Beautiful property, well-maintained garden, extremely well-located (close to town and also to surf breaks) comfortable beds and pretty outdoor shower underneath the palm tree shade.

Great location just a short walk from town so very peaceful. Comfortable rooms and beautiful common areas. The staff were very accommodating, especially the owners! We were very well looked after. Such a great sopt, right near the beach.

Quiet and laid back space. The location is great, close to the beach and to the main centre. Breakfast is great and the staff are lovely.

This is the place to be and make sure you don't miss out on the bbq safari evening! One of the best experience I had in Sri Lanka. 6 months in different Hotels and homestays and this is one I would return to without any doubt ☺️
